[Q] Disable SMS Delete Confirmation? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

Running CM9 ICS and would like to disable the confirmation prompt when I delete a text message.
Does anyone know of a way to accomplish this without a third party SMS app?

Well, yes - I did. It's a Q&A and didn't see anything in the search for it.
Thanks for stopping by.

We do have a cm9 discussion thread you know that right?

I was asking in a general fashion. If it needs to be moved then that is what should be done.

[req] miui beta v5 mms fix

does anyone know of a flashable zip or a mod that I can use to get mms on the latest version of miui to work? I really need mms. I have posted in the actual thread many times and never got an answer. It would be great if some one could help. Thanks guys!
Sure flash a different rom. That'll fix it.
Seriously don't you think if there was a fix it would be baked into the rom. Perhaps that's why no one replied to you.
Why not ask this on the MIUI thread?

With most forums, there is a minimum of 10 characters in order to submit a post so if somebody wants to just reply with a "yes" or something like that to a post they write "10 char" so their post will submit.

NOPE, I have no idea where I would find something like that
did you even bother to look, or did you just decide to create your account and hop on here with a question, which has obviously been answered 1000 times before?

Nice... There are to many of these threads with people who don't search before asking something. If you spent like 20 seconds you could of found this. Help xda don't bog it down with stupid questions. I was once a huge noob but I searched for all of my questions and found all of them easily.

Alright, OP's ridiculously easy question answered... with the addition of "another" rom option.

sms to not load all messages at once?

hello, as my first android phone i have to say i love the skyrocket. as soon as i got it i did research prior to getting it and now i am rooted with nexusmod's GB rom.
but enough of that, my one simple question is:
is there a way to limit the number of messages that are loaded in a conversation?
this way the phone doesn't lag when opening a conversation of thousands of messages. it would be nice to have it like how it loads on the iphone, although i'd rather have the skyrocket anyday.
i am currently just using sms backup and deleting messages when there are too many. is this my only option?
thanks

I believe you can change that in the messages settings... Just like on the i777, however, maybe looking in the skyrocket forums might provide a more concrete result.

No, you need to grab a 3rd party SMS app for that.
I have the same problem when opening threads with over 5k messages which is why I use GoSMS.
Even though this is the wrong forum, I believe it still the same messaging app.
Would changing the limit from 1000 to say, 100, not do the job?

No, that will just keep more messages and won't delete till 1k per thread.
Not what you want if you like to have your messages.
GoSMS & iPhone load the messages so you have to click "Load More" see every 20 messages or so, not sure the number.
It prevents from loading thousands of messages at once which lags like crazy.
I am sure other 3rd party sms apps have the ability as well, I just don't know which since I only use 1.

Disable OTA?

Can anyome tell me how to stop or "freeze" system updates on this device?

Freeze the app SDM 1.0
By the way an easy search would have told you that.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2
Also, usually a build.prop edit can be a simple way to stop OTA updates on many devices. You would want to compare the build.prop of an updated stock device and change the appropriate line.

Or just disable sdm. If he didn't know how to do this prior, there is NO way he should be touching build.prop yet....

Thanks for this. I first spent hours trying to get the right stock ROM because VZW was forcing and OTA on me and I did not want to brick my Note 2 when it got pushed. This is a much simpler fix and I don't have to worry about losing root.
