No Taskkiller is the best taskkiller. If u use this programms ur battery drains faster because most of running apps starting again after killing.. Taskkiller were only usefull at Android 2.2 also Froyo Androis version with GB and ICS there are useless. XD

I did not know it....So basically it closes it self when i press home?(i didn't think so..)In my oppinion it stays open and eating a lot of memory which is causing battery drain....Of course some apps are have to open all time but you can edit a non-app-kill list where you can put those apps.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks for your reply anyway
I think the best app killer for ICS is an app where u can choose what app have to run automatically and what not have to do.
With GB I used gemini app manager, but I don't try it on ICS yet.
For when an app is running and u would force close it u can use the stock ICS app killer simply holding central button.

App killer is by defintion of little value, it doesn`t do much and is imo quite useless. I have never used one because the benefits are marginal.

Sorry if this has been talked about. But didn't find much on it. Are anyone using it? Do you recommended it? Free or paid version? I have tried the free one but didn't notice any thing.

Worst app I ever bought. At first I thought it was the mutts nuts but as I learnt more about what my phone was really doing I realised that I used more battery with it running than without.
Don't get me wrong though its brilliant if you hardly touch your phone but if like me you cannot put it down then its absolutely pointless, I much preferred using a combination of apps to save battery's, llama a free task automation app, autostarts to stop things running in the background and fast reboot pro to free up some memory.

Thanks for the advice and got fast boot pro which is ace

No
Its a complete waste of money, i use battery defender instead its free & does a better job
Battery lasts a day, whether JD enabled or not.

@scratch: as far as i know you don't even need to install any auto killer to terminate apps cuz Android has a feature through which it shuts down unnecessary apps when free space is required...

Nowhere did I mention any task killer and just fyi I know perfectly well how androids built in task killer works!
I also know that the android task killer has exactly the same flaw deep down as any auto taskkiller, all apps have certain parameters which when met will enable an app to start. These parameters range from things such as switching on wifi or mobile data to simply plugging in your charger therefore even the built in taskkiller is slightly flawed as an app which has been killed before can just restart as soon as one of its parameters are met.
Check out the app I mentioned autostarts which isn't a taskkiller as such but more stop the task parameters from being met in the first place.

try to use ram manager from Google play..
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smartprojects.RAMOptimizationFree&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5zbWFydHByb2plY3RzLlJBTU9wdGltaXphdGlvbkZyZWUiXQ..
Select Balance mode in settings for daily use....
Note:You have to root your device to make it work...
try method from this link ... this method work for me..
-sorry for my bad english-
RAM manager, in my opinion, is better than Supercharger. It makes my phone smooth on ICS and JB
Thanks friend
I'm using RAM manager.
It's good for my phone.
Sent from my X8 using xda app-developers app
One solution is that dont install too many apps and uninstall/freeze unused system apps..
I use Ram manager too, in Balance mode i have 40-50 MB of free memory, on MiniCM7 2.0.7 ROM and 30-40 MB free, on GingerDX v029 ROM.
Free Up more RAM

Hi,
you can also try for
1. Memory Booster - RAM Optimizer ( with out Rooting ) or ES Task Manager ( they are just Task managers ) but can help you to free up the more RAM. you can also use auto kill fuctions of these apps.
2. uninstall unwanted apps , will surely speed up the phone
3. if you are rooted your phone, you can use ES task manager to disable some unwanted startup applications
other methods like Superchanger needs some more knowledge of memory handling ,like reserving memory for apps like home to reduce the redraws etc.
Cheers!

better use advanced task killer pro... best..some people claim that task killer are not useful because android manages its own memory... but give the task killer a try you will notice the difference

I Think Use RAM Manager or Advanced Task Killer Pro that's better
Well guys this is weird. While using chrome, music app stops working and closes automatically. It doesn't happen with any other browser. I'm on indisn firmware 4.1 1 right now, non rooted. Anyone has any suggestions or facing same issue?
One more question, is the high ram usage fixed in uk version lla or it's the same??
Sent from my GT-I9300 using. xda app-developers app
Its the ram usage...the phone automatically closes other apps for freeing ram so that apps that uses huge resources like chrome can work..since music player works in the background.the low memory killer feature force closes the apps...i have personally experienced this problem when using facebook flipboard etc..
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Any possible solution bro?
One question though, what's the point of having a powerful phobe such as s3 if it can't even run 2-3 apps at a time?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Try clearing recently used programs list...since recently used programs will be cached for quickly launching next time the user needs it.it will take up a lot of ram...also try using advanced system care from play store...this app proved useful to me and many others..if it still doesn't work..try to uninstall least used apps..since some services will run in the background and eats up ram..and still not working means..keep the post alive and we can expect someone will come up with a solution
Hope this helps..

Yup waiting for some more replies. The above i already tried, no effect.
I guess i have to root n install another rom.

Bump!
Well i've successfully rooted mu device and i hope there can be more ways now to make it lagfree. So can anyone please suggest any ways now? I don't wanna install any custom kernel or recovery. Just wanna tweak the stock ROM for good performance and multi-tasking.
Hi. Few times a day a have huge screen lag. I Installed ram manager from Juergen app then uninstalled few apps which I don't use and still no changes.
Why memory is in high usage and how can I fix it?

Nothing wrong with your memory, thats how android works: http://www.androidcentral.com/ram-what-it-how-its-used-and-why-you-shouldnt-care
If you are using TouchWiz launcher, you can fix the lag by moving to other launcher (i suggest 'Nova Launcher'), using 'Greenify' to hibernate unused apps , or changing to another rom:
TouchWiz seems to work very smoothly on this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2060403

get an app called disable service and another one called greenify..with greenify you can just hibernate a particular app if its running in background[user app in free version and system app in donation version]
with disable service you can stop google framework and services that are always working in background...but be very specific about disabling those processes coz some are important for play store functionality..
Maybe try a factory reset.. If it's so bad

Guys im just curious if you use Task killer for your ZU device?
its like none of u here discuss about using an application to kill running applications that can slow down our device
due to the shortage of RAM.
Thanks

Task killers actually mess up android, it's designed to cache as many programs as possible for fast app switching. Ive never had any problems with memory shortage on ZU ever.
The reason it's not discussed is because no one uses one.

i use some kind of it, but its just for monitoring, try find OS monitor on playstore.
i install around 400 apps on my ZU, so i need greenify, autostart, OS monitor for task monitoring and killing if any process turn to be a wakelock. :fingers-crossed:

thats alot of apps. but thanks
I wasn't aware that the OS optimizes the apps. I've always used GO Task Manager EX and put a widget on my home screen to kill everything.

It is not optimizing the apps but rather optimizing the memory usage.
