Could this help us in any way? - Motorola Droid X2

I read over the weekend that the Motorola Razr got ICS via a leaked ROM. I dont know how similar our phones are but could this help us in porting over ICS for our phone?

I think the Razr has an OMAP TI chip, but I'm not sure.

Where do sbf files come from?

Are they all motorola proprietary files? Meaning we have to wait for a leak before we get them, or does a dev build them from a OTA update?
I was just curious and I've always wanted to know.

Leaks from manufacturers or carriers.
That's what I thought, thanks.

So is this the first step in getting an sbf?
This isn't absolutely related to SBFs, FXZs and anything else.
Anyway, good find! I can start to work to EternityProject Kernel for Motorola RAZR now :°)
Pity is that it will be flashable only when ICS will be out!

No, this is the DROID RAZR's. Unless they're running the same thing (which...I guess could be possible, outside of the radio-related stuff), no.

Why is it a pity? Can we not flash with bootstrap?
The bootloader's gotta be unlocked in order for you to flash Kernels.

board-mapphone.c:char *bp_model = "CDMA";
board-mapphone-spi.c: char *cpcap_bp_model = "CDMA"
Just a guess 'cause I didn't have time to check better:
cpcap_bp_model and bp_model should be changed to GSM or it shouldn't be changed at all. The userspace radio layer is in Android ROM and since our MDM6600 (same for DROID RAZR and RAZR) is able to work both in CDMA and GSM mode, the kernel code should be the same. CDMA as bp_model can be only for reference or for changing operational mode in the BP kernel driver.
The kernel should be exactly the same, the only unsure thing is the radio driver, anyway, in case GSM RAZR kernel will be released "too late" we can use this on the GSM RAZR relatively easily. We need in any case the unlocked bootloader for testing what I'm saying but I expect to have the RAZR (GSM) kernel prior that to happen.

That's true, but wouldn't it be wasted work since ICS would entail a new kernel from Moto to start over on anyway?
You don't really expect to see official ICS on the Razr anytime soon, do you? And yes, I know what Motorola told. I also know what they used to tell in the past.
but will this at least allow customs roms like like liberty 3 or cm7??

not yet, they aren't!
are you aware that they also said that ICS was already ready when the source came out? all they have to do is finish testing it and push it out. early 2012 is very reasonable.
Hold your breath and we'll see how well you're feeling in a few months....

ICS?

Yes ICS has bedn available for the razr for quite some time now. Everyone here is just focusing on the GSM versions...i wish more devs would help with the ICSrzr build. Its extremely good right now but the camera doesnt work yet

It's close to being a daily driver. I can live without the camera for now, but I've also had issues with the data connectivity. So for now i'm just going to stay on stock rooted. I'll probably try all the builds that get released though

Upgrading .203 leak idea

Just wondering... if the newer leaks can only install over .181 or themselves, would there be a file somewhere on our devices that could be edited to make it think its running one of those builds?

Is this good news for RAZR community?

-Danik- achieved to unlock bootloader on Mototorola MS2, will this be applicable to the RAZR?

Looks like a revelation!

Is that a OMAP device? if yes then it looks promising might want to notify hash about it :good:
edit: yes omap 3630
According to -Danik-
"Once the RAMDL was hacked , I was able to flash my own loader which is a turning point in Milestone 2 at is , and on any OMAP at all."
I'm no expert on these matters, but Google says it's OMAP too

Well so far nothing has been post in the RAZR section of the forum, but we have kexec anyways, which is a bootloader bypass. It would be nice, but it's not exactly needed, plus we weren't initially included so I don't know what that means

Using KEXEC-C10.1-20130312. Like it! Took me forever to find developer options. Wondering if and when I should enable USB DEbug. Your thoughts? I run it via Safestrap. You? I am new to this, and need to ask what may be a real NOOB Question, re INTL travel. Also, can I insert purchased Euro Sim for use in Europe? Just foggy on how boot would react? Any help is appreciated.

You can travel abroad with your RAZR no problem; but, know that if you are running CM10.1 you must patch it before it will work on Intl GSM, if you search the CM10.1 thread toy will find a link to the patch. I would link it now but I'm on my phone. If you have any other CM10.1 questions please post them on the CM10.1 thread, way more people read that thread and the support over there is great.
