Any way to use profiles ? - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

Is it possible to change system settings like screen timeout or keyboard etc depending on whether the tablet is docked or docked and powered ?

[Q] Anybody notice that their google Maps app randomly appears on recent app soft key

this is pissing me off, i don't even open the maps app and it's shown to be open on recent apps. why does it do this???

This is also happening to me on my Verizon GNexus. I think it may be a ICS bug.
No matter what when I go into Apps & running apps Maps is always shown & can't be killed. Kill it & it starts back up.
Given our ****ty GPS this is very ironic in a way.
Within fifteen seconds of a completed reboot Google Maps always shows up for me. Without fail and without going into any other applications. Just wait 15 seconds and there it is.
Do you have location services enabled on you're browser? Might be a suggestion.

I agree. If your prime has location services on in any app that will trigger maps to run. Especially when you reboot...that lil bastard wants to know where its at and uses maps to find out.

Changing keyboard automatically when docking/undocking

When not using the dock, I prefer to use Thumb Keyboard from the market for the on-screen keyboard. The problem is when I dock the tablet, the keyboard stays on Thumb Keyboard, which uses the US keyboard layout which is a bit of a problem since my Prime is the UK model. The keyboard layout differs slightly which is not a huge problem but it does get a bit annoying.
I can manually change the keyboard back to the Asus keyboard but that seems to be an extra step in something that should be automated. Does anyone know if there is an app or a setting that tells the tablet to change keyboard automatically when you dock or undock the keyboard? Thanks!

I believe there is an application for that, but I don't remember it's name unfortunately. It might require root too.
I'm also using thumb keyboard, but I haven't found any inconsistencies yet, could you point them out to me?
As for fixing your issue, you could try the ' alternative/international keyboards' setting
The only one I have found so far are @ and " being switched around. (shift+2 is @ on US keyboard, " in UK) There might be more but I haven't really tested them out. Anyway I tried looking at the international keyboard settings but there seems to be no way to change to the UK layout; there's just one QWERTY keyboard.

i just did the other day using viperboys method, it was done in less than 10 minutes with NO hassle. HIHGLY recommend it. i pretty much did it for this app, which USED to be paid. for w/e reason, dev made free... and im glad!
my only possibly objection to KBM, it places a notification in the bottom right. i just hate notifications. i try to clear em asap. but, same goes for external sds... so i guess we just deal with it lol...
Lol. I know lots of people get annoyed by notification icons but I'm pretty cool with them so it should be alright. Thanks for the tip on the rooting method.

in the settings for keyboard manager you can disable to the notification.

ya i know but leaving a notification makes it more of a persistent app. i use swipepad on my phone with notification persistence but the dev made it possible to make the notification icon transparent. this should be in ALL notification icons imho!

TFP - Gmail crashes in vertical in .21

I have recently found that when I access the Gmail app on my TFP it crashes if I have the screen in vertical mode. It appears to function just fine most of the time in horizontal mode. Is anyone else experiencing similar wacky crashes of Gmail?

Same problem
I have the same issue. I hadn't specifically linked it to vertical orientation before, but that totally makes sense now.
I have noticed this seems to only happen when the TFP has been on for a while and it is not just Gmail, but also the stock music app... I wonder if this happens in many other apps.

Widget for power profiles

Anyone got any good widgets for power profiles like Balanced and Power Save?
Im running CM9 so lost the controls in the notification menu.
I also would like to know-

I'm looking for one as well. Or if anyone knows of a good formula for tasker that can accomplish this, I'd love to learn about it.

Replace notification bar on JB to iOS style?

is there an app to either theme the notification bar on JB or move it to the top of screen with out root or a separate launcher.....to use along side the iLauncher app

Just to be picky - It's not iOS style, it's an Original Android feature.
Pull down notifications is android.
No idea how, though. Try different launchers.

You can always try changing your DPI, by editing buid.prop to force the tablet in "phone UI" mode, instead of the current tablet UI mode. That will give you drop down notifications, which are DEFINITELY an original android feature. Apple stole that a while ago.
