[Req]Indian Languages for ICS - XPERIA X8 Themes and Apps

I request the developers here for help on adding Indian languages on ICS especially for "Malayalam" language
Pls see this link
http://androidandsandu.blogspot.in/2011/12/how-to-add-indian-languages-to-android.html
Thanks in advance

Hi , I do not think any developer would be willing to do this.
This is because there are hardly any Indian developers in this forum.
And developers from other countries , most likely would not like to invest in something which they would not be able to use.
Yeah , there is one Indian whom I and the world knows... HAKA (Epic Dev.)
I guess , you'll have to read a tutorial or something and do it on your own.
P.S - Even I wanted "Hindi" language... But I doubt anyone will do it. Will have to figure it out myself. Just didn't get the time to look for it.

+1 brow

Hindi is already there in ICS ...

Hindi is there, but in UI rendering is broke., Only in webkit it renders perfectly.
Your blog link seems to solve the problem.
Only way to help is to post this link to http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=4153, the official place to post this rendering bug for indic languages.
May be we can pester someone like Haka or Koushik Dutta? to include this in AOKP or CM9?
But first we have to see if this really fixes it.

Chinese people don't share with outsiders and "non-communists" , plus this whole thing looks like some real bullcrap to me
I was able to register, but not to find something useful. I had a good laugh tho... (@ the google translation of their site) xD
in my country, we have the similar problem, we dont know who has the rom, as far as we know is the tow videos released on the internet show us that our HD2 can really run the WP7. the individuals there are still waiting for the news, be patient, if there's any news of wp7 ON HD2 from xda.cn, i will notice your guys.
ok?

[Q] Basic info to porting a rom.

Can anyone let me know the basics to porting a Rom ?
I re-use this post to have some info on porting.
I'm trying to port Android too. I've builded a CM ROM for my Device (Samsung Galaxy Gio, Thanks to Maclaw Guide on his gitHub Wiki), but now i want to modify the source and i'm searchin the way to do this. Can any of you help me?
Thanks for the info you suggest to me,and sorry for my english .
No one is going to reply to your post.. All the devs are to lazy to explain and help others port. They have half guides every where, but you ask a question they never reply! And people call this a great community?
I hope thta there is/are developer/s with a great heart and with the spirit of help new developers...

First off there are tons of tut all over the site. Alot of this is trial and error mixed with many sleepless nights.
Calling the Dev lazy is way out of line. All the tools you need can be found with a Google search. But people seem to be too lazy to put in the days worth of work that is need to understand what your doing.

man don't use any wrong against any dev. they work hard 4 for all. plz don't use this words
I think antony want to say that there's no knowledge sharing between new users and developers that know really good how to proceed into the development.
No one of us know all of all. For example i've learned how to cross compile the android source many times ago but my doubts are on the mods area of OS.
I don't like to ask to other but i must admit that i've not a great knowsledge on this argument. So, a part of us (new developers), only ask an help on the way to take for learn the necessary to do more.

[Q] Want to help devs translate apps[SWE]

Hello and good evening everyone.
I have received so much from these forums and the Android community in general. A while back I had a HTC DHD and contributed with bandwidth for ARHD(this is way back) as I want to give back to the community(donations aside ofc). Now I have a LG P990 and am trying to find a way to help out with something.
Recently I have been trying a lot of apps of all sorts. One thing I have noticed is the poor translations to swedish. It is sometimes even embarrassing to see how very well written apps and tools are just filled with down right badly translated text. Seeing how many Android users there are in Sweden I really think this is both strange and a bit sad.
I don't know if I' sticking my nose out here, but I want to help clean this up. Maybe I come off as arrogant in this post. That is not the intention here though. All I'm looking for is a way to try and figure out how to help out
Should I just start emailing the specific devs or is there a forum or anything where "translators" gather round? IRC channels maybe? Am I being stupid?

Yep, that's the best you can do. Actually, multi-language support isn't a difficult job, so I think the devs will be glad if you wish help them

Actually it seems pretty difficult to do since a majority of translations are less than perfect.
The problem with emailing devs is that they have no idea of who I am or what I am capable of. Did it a couple years back and the usual reply was "we have someone" or "no we don't need it".

A message to all developers

I think he is talking about the arabic support which have a problem of writing the letters seperate in most of our roms. Especially in web browsers.
The indian support and arabic support of web browsers conflicts. As most of our developers from india they choose the indian support.

help
hello is anyone there??
So register on the site yourself & use one of the many translation tools that are readily available for everyone to use these days. A native Chinese speaker reading your thread & doing what you're asking (which you're easily able to do yourself with a bit of initiative/work) may never happen. It hasn't happened in 3 days, I'll lay London to a brick it won't happen if you're still here bumping this thread in a month.
I know what I'd be doing if I were you (but you won't you'll sit here forever bumping this thread waiting for something that will never happen to happen).

if i'm asking for help it means that i need it. i used the translation tool in the site but the translated text is a bit confusing. i would write directly to the post i saw the ROM in xda but i don't have enough credits to write there so that's why i'm asking here and your irony wasn't so helpful.
anyhow thanks for spending your time answering me.
