Dock SDCard not being recognised - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

Dock SDCard not being recognisedr to recognise my sd card every time i push it in the notification area will flash but it never recognises my sd card. it's really annoying.
Anyone know how to fix?

I would reformat the SD card using your computer.
Save anything that might be on the card first, of course.

reboot? doesn't recognize my usb drive sometimes unless I reboot, likely due to file systems.

[Q] Accessing SD Card

I feel like I'm missing something, and I'm hoping that someone went through this and can make me feel less inept.
Just got my new GTablet. I bust it open, run the update from viewsonic, reboot. Then, I go to install clockworkmod and I can't get my PC to recognize the SD card. When I look at the browser on the tablet, unplugged from USB, I see the "SDCARD" directory, but it is there whether I have the card in or not. I plug it up to the PC with the card in it and the only thing that shows is the 13GB storage on the tablet. Unlike my Android Phone, which shows the phone memory and the SD memory as two separate removable disks, I'm only seeing 1.
I've formatted the SD card on the tablet, which does see that there is a card, but aside from that, I can't get to it... ideas? Am I missing something obvious?
On the PC: the internal memory is seen as SD1, the external SD slot is seen as SD2
After you formatted your Micro SDHD card on your G tAb, did you mount it ?
I've mounted, unmounted while the tablet was plugged up and not plugged up. I threw it in my HTC Incredible to see if there was a problem with the card, but I can browse to it fine through my phone. I formatted it on the PC (FAT32) and tried again. I see The SDCARD and SDCARD2 on the tablet, but it never shows up on the PC. The only thing I see is "Removabled Disk" with 12.7 of 13GB free.
So, I've now tried a new card, with still no go. I mean, I added clockworkmod to the SD card via windows, tried to boot to it through recovery, but it goes to the unpacking splash screen and reboots after 10 seconds. I can go into the file explorer and see the update.zip that I added to the SD card at /sdcard2/... Any help would be appreciated. Help =(

This is normal behavior for the G Tablet. Only the internal memory will mount on your PC.
Thanks for that. I figured it out after reading through a lot of the guides that directed me to install from the internal "SDCARD."
Since reading your post, I've got everything up and running with Cyanogenmod installed and running... Thanks to everyone that threw your two cents.
Simple way to get started:
Read my STICKY in the General Forum

Sd card trouble

my sd card needs to be formated but I do not want t format it um I have also tried to moumt til I get my photos out of it. I tried mounting my sd card to my computer but when I press the mount sd card button, there is a white spinning circle at the bottom and it does not stop spinning. How do I retrive my files in this situation? Or how do I reformat my card without deleting my files? Can a micro sd card reader retrieve files without formatting them?
I am currently using the unofficial release of the gingerbread kernel.
Go to a store and purchase a usb stick that you can put your card in. Then find a software to recover files from flash devices. The software is not a 100% guarantee to work but it is worth the shot.
EC09 Leak is notorious for ruining cards. even after a reformat the card most likely will still not work.
Good Luck!

SD Card won't mount

I've looked at the other threads on this but, none seem to match my problem.
I've a 16 GB MicroSD card in my S2. S2 is not-rooted running stock ROM.
This card used to mount ok. It no longer will.
In Settings->Storage, space reported is unavailable (because it's not mounted).
I can run Format SD Card option which returns quickly.
Running Mount SD Card, it's says Mount in Progress but it never completes.
If I put the card into an SD card reader, it looks fine. FAT32 formatted card, with approx 16GB available.
Any ideas?

I had similar problems with two other sd cards.
First running without any problem, and then suddenly the message appeared that the sd card is empty or not connected.
In both cases, the sd card was broken.
But in my cases, the sd card could not be used in a USB adapter by PC either.
As the sd cards were nearly new, I could make a warranty replacement and now I have got a card which works fine for about two months.
You can check this, by switching the sd card into another phone.
And use another sd card in your phone.
If the other card will work in your phone and your sd card will have issues in the other phone too, replace the broken sd card.
Good luck !
P.S.: You should format the sd card with your phone and not by your PC.
Other MicroSD Card works

Thanks for the response. I should have said that another 4GB card worked in the phone ok. This did lead me to think it was a card problem. However, he fact it works via a PC indicates otherwise.
Will try it in another phone.
Just throw it away?
Has anyone seen this before i.e. not working in phone but ok in SD reader?
If so, did you manage to resurrect it? Or is it time to throw it out?

Try this. Settings>Application>Development
Check usb debugging.
Connect phone to pc. In notification bar click "usb connected" message, and click on "connect usb storage" button. You won't see the sd card mounted in pc!
Now disconnect phone, reboot. It might mount
See if there's any luck.
Since you're not rooted, solutions are quite limited in numbers

Tried disconnecting and rebooting in 2 senses of the word
1. Hitting the disconnect usb storage button on screen
2. unplugging the usb cable.
Unfortunately, neither worked.

SD card not mounting after format

I have a small 4gb microSD card that i had from my old phone and have been using it on the Atrix. I want to get a bigger one but seeing as I have this one now I wanted to format it and use it for backups, etc. It's been working find in my Atrix until just now. I formatted it using the Settings -> Storage -> Format SD card option. Now it will no longer mount properly. I have rebooted the phone a few times, removed the SD card and reinserted it, etc. It recognizes the card and says "Preparing SD card. Checking for errors." in the notification area. But it never completes that and mounts it.
Just now it said "Damaged SD card. SD card damaged. You may have to reformat it." So i tried again to reformat using the phone, and it still will not correctly mount. I'll try some more things, but wondering if anyone else has had this happen or knows of a solution. Thank you.
Problem solved myself. lol. I placed the card in my laptop and saw it was a mess of garbage files. Weird. So I formatted it on windows, then put it back in my Atrix, and all is well. heh.

[Q] remount sd card app?

every time i unmount my sd card, there's no way to remount it on my nook tablet,
is there an app that help me do this?
(i just don't want to open the SD card slot)
on PC, there is an app called "usb safely remove" that can remount usb, sd card,....
and do i need to unmount sd card when i don't use it, if i just leave it there, will it drain my battery, or is it ok?
no one knows?
It's fine to just leave the sd card plugged in, shouldn't have any noticeable drain on your battery.
Sent from my Nook Tablet using XDA
I have the same problem, If I unmount the SD card or physically remove from the slot with the tablet on, when I remount or insert the card again, all apps cannot see the card anymore even though under storage setting the card is shown mounted, I have to restart the tablet to make things go back to normal.
This is annoying because when I try to transfer files to the card via USB cable I get really slow transfer rates, like 2.0 MB/s taking forever when trying to transfer huge files, when I plug the card directly to my card reader I get 6.0 MB/s which is the card class speed.

when i made this thread i didn't have this problem, but now I do have the same problem as you.
I hope someone knows how to fix this.
There is an app called Script Manager (smanager) that you get from the google store. You can create a shell script that will mount your sdcard. That's what I did. I have my internal media partition mounted to /mnt/sdcard and I have my sdcard mounted to /mnt/sdcard/_ExternalSD.
I'm not sure why it isn't detecting your SD card after putting it back in though... unless you have it custom mounting somewhere and it doesn't like it. Are you "Unmounting" before you eject? If not, that could cause some error. Maybe grab catlog from the store and see what comes up in the log after you plug in the sdcard.
