Importing Windows Contact in HTC Mozart 7 - 7 Mozart General

Hi
I just bought this HTC Mozart 7 yesterday and I dont know how do I sync my windows contacts. I got those contacts from my Iphone and i am very new to windows mobile
I dont have windows mobile center in my PC and I tried downloading zune (i dont know if that is helpful) but somehow it doesnt detect my handset

you can import your contacts from your Sim-card, than save them to your Windows Id account and edit in the Windows page. You'll have access to your mail, Skydrive, contacts...
You can also import contacts from facebook or other services like google...
I never use a iphone so I can't help you to transfer contacts by wifi, but it may be possible

O my god
Is that the only way ? Hell I am starting thinking of selling this phone, it is so complicated.
I dont have data plan i dont know how do I import

The future for PC and smartphone are Cloud services, so you will always need a good data service or wifi spots
Zune is also nice. It backup's all your data to your PC by usb connection.
You can also use outlook to edit your contacts; name, phone, email, address... and WP7 will import everything to your phone.
The oldest way to transfer contacts is by Bluetooth but only customized rom's lets you transfer data. I think it's not possible in iphones.
Don't give up, it seems complicated but its very easy, and as a lot of vantages. Old days when an accident append to your phone you would lose all contacts and data, now, with cloud services they are always protected.

found this on a web site
" To be able to synchronize contacts from an iPhone into Windows Phone 7 "
This is a three step move, with several minor details.
Let's begin :
1 - Start by install the iTunes on your PC :
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Next, connect your iPhone to your computer and then wait for it to show up as a device in iTunes.
Once connected, click on the "Info" tab and go down to "Contacts". Select to sync contacts with Outlook and then sync your iPhone.
This operation will copy all contacts from your iPhone (including contact pictures, if you use them) to the Outlook Contacts folder.
Just need to make sure that the contacts were sinchronized to the Outlook.
2 - The next step is to install the Outlook Hotmail Connector, depending on your Windows Version, 32 or 64 bit :
Download details: Outlook Hotmail Connector 32-bit
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...89-af2e-41f9-a175-f93e1377959f&displaylang=en
OR
Download details: Outlook Hotmail Connector 64-bit
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...f4-f4bf-4751-954b-5b36d80ec375&displaylang=en
You must restart Outlook and configure a new account, Hotmail, using your Hotmail username and password.
At this point, you are connected to the Hotmail.com service using Outlook, meaning you can send and receive e-mails from Outlook and to synch contacts
3 - You can now start the next step.
In Outlook, scroll to the Contacts of your Usual Mailbox and select all, by pressing CTRL+A and hit CTRL+C.
Scroll to the Contacts inside the Hotmail Mailbox on your Outlook and press CTRL+V.
Outlook will copy all the contacts to the "Cloud". Your Hotmail contacts folder online is the destination.
On your Windows Phone 7 device, click the Right Arrow ( à ) and then choose "Hotmail".
Press the Sync button and that's it.

there is an app in the marketplace for that

can't synchronize contacts

Hi,
I'm about to upgrade to the latest ROM, and I think I need to save my contact list before I do it - is that right?
However, in activesync, there is no check-box to tick next to contacts, so it can't synchronize them for me. I use outlook express, so I thought it should be simple enough. What's wrong?
Is there any other simple way of retaining my contacts during an upgrade, because I'm not really fussed about having them on outlook.
Thanks for any help,
Phil
without being sure then i think that use need to use outlook and not outlook express to have contacts
outlook 2k came free on the cd of both my xda1 and 2
Outlook 2002 is hacking me off
Aaargh - please help!!!
After Rudegar's suggestion to use Outlook 2002 rather than Outlook express, I fished out the CD that came with my XDA II and installed Outlook 2002 and activesync onto a new PC.
Activesync connects OK and tries to sync my contacts as I wanted it to, but Outlook is messing about, and the contacts end up unresolved. When I try to do anything to do with contacts in Outlook, it says "Could not open the Item - try again". Even simply manually creating a new one.
So I thought I'd set up an email account - perhaps I need one to have contacts, but the help file says to go to "Tools" and "Email accounts", but there isn't an "Email accounts" option on the tools menu!
Outlook is really hacking me off now - all i want to do is to have somewhere to store my contacts whilst I do a ROM upgrade - this is CRAZY!!
PLEASE help - this is doing my nut!
Phil

did you set up your mail account in the inbox of your device ?
if you click the account menu and choose new account you should begin setting up your account
about the resolve conflicting then under options in activesync there are a place where you set up rules as to how activesync handle conflicts
also people seem to be reporting issues with usb'ing their xda devices with
windows 9X (ME) series os
I'm not sure I understand - I don't actually use pocket outlook on the device. I was talking about setting up an account on my laptop so that outlook 2002 would allow me to have a contact list on the laptop which I would then use to store the contacts on whilst I do a rom upgrade on the XDA II....
contacts is pocket outlook along with the calander and tasks and appointments
if you mean that you had issues setting up an account on the outlook on the pc then choose tools
choose services
and add mail
there isn't a services item on my tools menu...

Android-Sync and MiniPro

Hi All,
I am looking for an application that allow me to sync Outlook
with X10 Mini (contacts and Calendar).
I found android-sync but it sync the contacts only.
It is not able to sync the calendar.
Do you have similar problems?
How can I sync phone with outlook?
/Francesco
I use android-sync and this is what I have found out:
- on one computer with Windows Vista and Outlook connected to an Exchange server, it can sync contacts only;
- on another computer with Windows 7 and Outlook using only local folders, it can sync contacts and calendar.
However there is no option to choose what range of dates to use in the sync, it doesn't sync recurring events, tasks or anything else.
I have tried to contact the developer using the email address reported on his website to discuss a couple of bugs but he has not replied to my message at all. On top of all this he also let the application expire at the end of August and uploaded a new version only a few days later so for several days I could not sync at all as I was getting an error message asking to download a new version that didn't exist.
To be honest I think he has lost interest in developing the application. It's a pity because there is basically no alternative. The fact that SonyEricsson has not included any way to perform local synchronisation with this phone is shameful.
Ciao.
Has anyone solved the sync problem?
I use an Outlook plugin called gSyncIt. Cost $15 but worth every penny.
I have 2 calendars and 2 sets of contacts in Outlook, personal and work related. On my google account I simply created 2 new calendars and this program syncs the Outlook calendar of my choice to the Google calendar of my choice.
Once it's on my Google account Android sync gets it to my phone no problems.
It'll also sync contacts/tasks etc
Perfect for me - it means I can use Jorte on my mobile to view my personal Outlook, my shared office calendar and all my shared google calendars at the same time.
http://www.daveswebsite.com/software/gsync/
But the whole idea was to sync in a way that avoids giving your soul away to the devil. If there is ONE company in the world that I don't trust, that company is Google. Local synchronisation keeps your data to you. That's why it is so important to have Android-Sync or some other workable alternative...
My troubles with Android-Sync continue! Suddenly my phone does not connect anymore! On the phone I get the message that Android-Sync is connect but on my pc the Android-Sync interface behaves as if there is no phone connected. I haven't installed or changed anything on either phone or PC, abd.exe is running and the Windows device manager doesn't report any problems.
I am really losing patience with SonyEricsson and the lack of local synch. I might stick to Android in the future but HTC supports local synchronisation so I will be looking at other phone manufacturers.
what's the outcome? is there a way for a local sync?
I'm a real newbie concerning android but i found in the market this free program called 'My Phone Explorer' and it syncs all my outlook contacts and calender entries without a problem either through wifi or usb cable.
android sync
Just to say I've tried today android sync to synchronize contacts and calendar from my corporate outlook (did not want to sync with google for obvious reasons..).
And it works like a charm !
Here's the link : http://www.android-sync.com/ (it's free)
Connect your mini with USB debug ON.

[Q] Sync Outlook with Mozart WM7

Hi,
Does anyone know if it is possible to synchronise The new Mozart 7 with Outlook for contacts and calender ?
Thanks.
That is the way I have got my contacts etc onto my Mozart ignoring the sim card route although it was via work Outlook by Exchange
The only way I managed to do this was to setup a hotmail account and copy all of my contacts within outlook. Provided you have the outlook connector installed you can add the new hotmail account to your mozart and the next time you sync it will transfer over all your contacts and appointments.
unfortunately i have the 64-bit microsoft office, outlook doesn't work with wmdc or seemingly anything else, never has worked and microsoft seems in no hurry to fix this, oh well, luckily most fo my contacts were in my windows live ID so it all got synced
I've got it syncing via exchange. Have to say for all it's failures (it is going back sadly) at least it syncs outlook flawlessly but then it is a Microsoft product..
Have sync'd two exchange accounts, contacts, calendars... and it's smart enough to not double up on duplicate contacts.
There is no ActiveSync possible in WP7. You have to sync via some sort of online service (Hotmail, Gmail, Exchange, etc).
FYI, even Microsoft recomend against using Office 64bit unless you are working with mega huge spreadsheet type data (4GB+ files).
how to sync notes and tasks from outlook 2007 to WM7?
does anyone know how to do a GAL lookup after you setup the device with an exchange account?
Synchronization with Outlook
Hello,
It's possible to calendar, contact...
1) You must add a microsoft plugin in Outlook 2010 (Outlook.Connector)
2) Create a new account (ex : [email protected])
(This account should be the same as WM7 phone account)
3) The news informations of calendar or contacts are send in account @live.fr
when you click on SEND/RECEIVE
4) You start "Hotmail App." on the mobile (with your account) and you synchronize.
5) The news "Outlook Informations" are now in your mobile phone
Best regards
SL

[Q] Turning off Windows Live Contacts

I have my Mozart signed into Windows Live on Windows Phone 7. It start synchronising all my Windows Live contacts. I dont want it to do this !
Ive gone into Settings and tried to turn off Contacts under my Windows Live account, but there is no option for it. I can turn off email content to synchronise, but not Contacts.
Is this by design with the new Windows Phone 7 ?
I can choose not to synchronise my Outlook contacts or Facebook contacts.
Can someone tell me how to turn off the Windows Live contacts, as this phone will suck if i cant do that !!!
I agree, it sucks, hope we will find a solution or that Microsoft will correct all these stuffs rapdily.
By the way, how did you choose not to sync facebook contacts?
I can't see the options in parameters=>accounts=>facebook...
So your is the same with the Windows Live contacts ?
For the facebook contacts, Settings, flick over to Applications, People > "include Facebook friends as contacts"
Yes, its the same for me for windows live contacts, no way to avoid sync.. the only option is for email (what a joke, why syncing windows live if its not to sync mails...)
Thanks for facebook contacts, it's cleaner in my address book.
Trick is to filter your contacts on the phone to hide live contacts (found under contacts, setting, fileter)...

[Q] Contacts (lumia 800 vs Windows Live)

Hello
I have my Lumia800 for almost two weeks and there's something that scares me.
I had a Nokia N8 and have 1041 contacts in that phone. When I bought Lumia800, with “transfer”, I’ve send all of them to my new phone, and now I have all my phone contacts in Lumia. But, somehow, only 200 contacts are synchronized with my Windows Live account (the one that I use on my mobile). I’ve tried lots of things, even create a new Windows Live account but the problem persists.
I want to be sure that, if something happens to my Luma800, I have all of mine 1041 contacts somewhere.
Any idea how I can solve this problem?
Thanks in advanced
Lea
I forgot to explain that When Lumia is clean (with no contacts), no error appear when trying to synchronised hotmail account. After my contacts when put in my Lumia (using Transfer application), it appears “error code 86000108).

Do you use MSFT Outlook? You can sync your N8 contact to Outlook then use the MSFT Outlook Hotmail connector to sync w/ Windows LIVE acct and then to your phone.

I've tried that also, and the problem continues.
Sync them with Google instead, see if that works properly?
Read this http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...nc-error/c5e3f1bb-fd93-4faa-87f6-1251425f1996
Gmail works just fine. Althought I continue to receive that error (Windows Live error 86000108), e-mail and calendar works just fine. I’ve done all the steps recommended by Microsoft Support but my 1041 contacts don’t appear. Just 200.
I even start a new hotmail account to be sure that there wasn’t any hidden e-mails or links. My Lumia was reset three times. When I start the phone with no contacts, that error doesn’t appear when I try to synchronize Windows Live account and my Lumia. Right after the contacts are transfer to the phone, that error starts to appear and only 200 of my 1041 contacts appear on my Windows Live account.
Is there a way to synchronize my contacts with my gmail account?
Are the contacts copied alphabetically?
There might be a problem with the last (or the next one) contact copied. Maybe some foreign character causing an issue?
no, the contacts are not copied alphabetically. And all the names are Portuguese (i'm portuguese)
You will essentially have to go through each contact that was copied, as it is either corrupt or contains information that Windows Live/Phone does not support. More than likely you should start with the last copied contact, if you know what that is, otherwise, you should erase all the contacts you have and start all over again.
I don't know if the transfer program is capable of transferring select contacts rather than just all, but try 10 or 20 contacts at a time. Then sync. If it syncs successfully, then do another group of 10 or 20 until you find the one that is not syncing properly. If you find the one that doesn't sync properly, then don't sync it, and do that one manually.
The transfer program doesn't allow to chose contacts
