For users having difficulty installing ResurrectionV1.1_official_remix_ics_4.0.3_XXLP - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

This is a more detailed edited version of how to install the Resurrection ROM by westcrip...
as have seen too many users that seem to be skipping parts or confused of the installation.
This is also for users like myself, who just started on this site and can't post on Development side to find their answers.
BACKUP your apps of course...but DO NOT backup system data.Repeat!! DO NOT BACKUP SYSTEM DATA. Restoring system data can give you some problems because if you don't know what you're doing, can accidentally replace something from the fixes that screws things up!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PART-1
Rom Installation (you MUST follow these steps! )
**Go to recovery mode( Vol UP + Power+ Home and hold until the Samsung Galaxy screen comes on)
1- Wipe data / Factory reset then (can Wipe cache partition or go straight to)
Install ResurrectionV1.1_official_remix_ics_4.0.3_XXLPE_FULL-WiPE.zip
*if you did not Wipe cache, can go straight to install from cache...
but if you Wiped cache then you go to install from external SD card and install 1.0_CWM.zip (this will be touch version)...
then choose - install zip from sdcard. - choose zip from sdcard. Scroll down to Download folder and select ResurrectionV1.1_official_remix_ics_4.0.3_XXLPE_FULL-WiPE.zip.
Please wait a moment.
2-Install gapps_for_remix_v1.1.zip
3-Install gapps_fixer.zip then go back and go to Advanced.
4-Wipe dalvik cache (required)
and Fix permissions and go back to
5-Reboot system
(at this stage it may take a while for first bootup, because we have wiped cache. It needs to rebuild it, so don`t panic.
It may take a while *average around 3-5min before getting to Installing applications screen)
At this stage, boot to system and configure the phone (change language settings, etc).
When finished, again reboot into recovery and follow PART-2
PART-2 (required)
This part it's mandatory here are contained the language, theme, AOSP apps and the T9 dialer if you want it...
or use default. ONLY install one of these:
*note: you're in regular CWM using up and down volue + power button to enter.
If you want the touch - reinstall it like before.
1.- Install the SMSfixupdate-afterboot+T9 Dialler.zip
or
SMSfixupdate-afterboot+default remix dialler.zip
go back
2.- Reboot into system
After finishing the boot it's highly probably that you receive a force close from android phone.
It's normal and it's the only FC that you should get.
Enjoy!
**There is a RAM Manager Fix (When you open the Task Manager app, there's a section called RAM and a button to Clear Memory.
The fix enables that button again... for those not working).
Here is a mirror link for this and other files: RAM Manager Fix and others
PART-3 (optional)
*This can apply to many other files you want to flash.
If you want to install Siyah kernel:
Place Siyah-v3.0rc4-CWM.zip (or whichever version you're using) in the root of internal SDcard memory ("download" folder) and go to recovery mode (Vol Up + Power + Home).
Go to Install zip from SDCard... and select it.
Yes and install... Fix permissions... Reboot.
**battery issues with Siyah?
go to recovery
wipe dalvik
go to "kernel specific options" to reset them or other performance tweaks.
reset kernal
fix permission
reboot
**No more video player?
Get the VideoPlayer.apk file (*have to do a search for it now until I find another working link to it)
and copy it to system/app using something like Root Explorer
Reboot
Hope this helps. I'll edit this when I have time (usually busy with other projects).
*Version 1.2 is out now Check it here.

Good job
Tho make sure you spend a bit of time regularly checking the thread (depending on how much action the thread gets, obviously). Once you make threads like these people invariably ask questions & it's best if the person who detailed the method answers most of them.

Thank you sir.
I will give as much time as I can on this, when questions come up... and I'll be sure to keep up with bugs going on on original thread... though they will be updating this ROM soon to 4.0.4.
When that happens, guess will have to update this lol.
(oh no, what have I gotten myself into )

Language problem
Hello!
Thanks for the thread, really useful for noobs needing help to fix some problems.
I am a noob... and I have a problem.
Everything is working fine, battery is ok, no fc... but language seems to be messed up, I get my language (spanish) in almost all settings and menus, but dialer is invariably in english. Some contacts dialogs show this behaviour too.
Thank you very much in advance!

Thanx a lot, really useful...cant wait for 1.2
SMSafter-reboot is the only fix i needed to fix my dialer fcs issue, after a dalvik cache clean and permission fixing. That was the only way, if some1 has same issue.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA

Hi Miguel. The ROM is mostly for English and some language settings are off here and there. Mine too shows Chinese characters in some parts. I think this has to do with where the phone is originally from.
Version 1.2 will be out soon (based on 4.0.4) and should have more bugs fixed. I will see if there's anything can be done to help you with Spanish settings.
*glad it's helpful for you guys.

Thanks for a good simple guide.... it is getting pretty difficult to find answers with so many posts in the main thread.
Will you be making a similar step by step guide for ver 1.2 that should be out soon?

If it is needed I will. Will have to wait for it to come out and see if instructions changed. The process will be easier (after what westcrip said), not needing to add gapps fix, etc now I think.
Anyways, if I think needs more detail for newer users, I'll add a new thread for it and post a link here to it too.

Which dialler
I'm a true noob and I'm rooted with CWM installed and I'm giving serious consideration to this rom. My only question at this point is what are the differences btw the 2 diallers and do most folks prefer one over the other?

Hi tlmacson. It's a very good fast and smooth rom with good support. 1 dialer gives you T9 abilities... which means when you start dialing some number, it shows you contact(s) that much those numbers.
But there are some bugs in it not working for some, so recommended to install the default one and add some other app that does the same, or install T9 on after the default.
PS
If you want to give this ROM a try... the new 1.2 version will be out any moment which should have easier installation with hopefully less bugs ^^

I have been using it for a few weeks now. It has run really smooth, the only bugs are very small and do not effect the use of it daily.
I had a few problems with the dialler, so I installed exDialler. I actually prefer it, it has t9 searching and can be skinned to look like ics dialler.
I will definatly give ver 1.2 of the rom a try too.

Yes, that's the 3rd party app people like for T9 use: exDialer
It also allows you to give it black theme.

HELP!
Cyber i'm wondering if you did test the 1.2 PRO resurrection I want to upgrade to it but i don't know if it is a FULL WIPE or not because westscript didn't mention it also there are no GAPPS and FIXER within the thread can you please confirm for me this?

I think that I may just do that since I'm not having any real issues with the leaked "stock" XXLPQ. I appreciate your advice and dialer explanation.

nHorus - For v1.2 it works better if you do a full wipe Do a full wipe(factory reset+cache+dalvik cache), though you can try without it.. and just do the factory reset. Then install ROM and Siyah kernel and reboot to do initial setup. Then comeback to recovery mode and install navigation button fix and app themes, reboot.

Test
Thank you cyberboob.
I will try 1.2 and see how it goes, anyway I will install exDialer to fix my languages "problems" (it is not a dealbreaker but is disturbing seeing some dalogues in other language).
According to 1.2 changelog this version is promising.

thank you. i'll try without the wipes

Sorry.. a full wipe is needed again (or more bugs will be present).
Follow these steps:
Do a full wipe(factory reset+cache+dalvik cache)
Install the Main ROM
Install Siyah-v3.0.1-CWM.zip
Reboot
Do the initial setup of things
Go back to CWM and install navigation button fix
Reboot
Then go back to CWM and install app themes (there are some bugs, but if you want the black themes, then install classic first, then black)
Reboot
Some people have other issues after, but see how this goes.
I would change the DPI settings to 184 or 210 for everything to work fine from market apps.
*Also westcrip will post a new fix update for some new bugs reported by some users.

I know I'm showing my "noobness" but I thought that the kernel was part of the ROM; so how do I install the kernel after the ROM?

Same way you installed the main ROM.. go into recovery mode and select the folder you placed it in (usually internal sd card "download" folder) and flash it "yes". Fix permissions if want and reboot. Same with anything else you need to flash/CWM after/before.

NOT WORKING?
Are you sure you've done a factory reset? You have to do a factory reset on the first screen (from Dell) of the recovery mode.
Still not working or causing problems (button still lights)? Maybe you're old baseband, try to download new here and upload using fastboot command.
Code:
fastboot -i 0x413c flash amss amss.mbn
Last chance. If you still have problems, try loading the original ROM ver. 354 and then reload the Simple Streak ROM. This may work

Good to See....
other custom ROM choices emerging for our beloved Streak!
Anyone try this yet?
Based upon what I've done with 351 (completely ripped out the Stage UI, Dell Sync, Amazon MP3, CoPilot Live, Evernote, Napster, Oovoo, PageOnce, Roxio Now, and Zinio Reader), leaving Swype and adding LauncherPro, the Streak should be very fast and very responsive, especially when shutting it off.
can you test netflix?

yeah ive had it on my phone for a few hours....
ive been using 354 since it come out & streakdroid before that & i think 354 is great so i jumped on this when it come out
ive got to admit i havnt done a factory reset yet as i dont want to lose my setting (i might tonight when i dont need my phone)
EDIT
portrait pics
A very clean rom. Simple and fast.
I really like it and didn't find any problem as of this moment, phone works, GPS works.
Is that possible for add adhoc network support in the next version?
Thanks Spidla, keep up the good work
Seems pretty solid, the only issue I have, is after a reboot, it is seems to be stuck in Landscape and wont auto rotate on the home screen. When I eventually get it to go Portrait everything is fine. I cleared the program cache, fixed permissions and cleared the dalvic cache, but that didn't fix the issue. Apart from that all my apps restored fine with Titanium backup root (after installing busy box) and they all work OK, there has been no force close issues either. Great work, thanks

Been using this for an hour or so and must admit I am very happy with it. Feels very fast and I love the built in portrait lock and the battery percentage mod. I think this rom is a keeper !
To the person stuck in landscape, on boot up I go to settings and toggle auto rotate on, rotate to portrait and then toggle it back off. Seems to be working for me so far...
Only question I have is that I'm using this with an older baseband (351) is that going to cause me problems ? Seems ok so far.
Cheers,
malty
Wow...will try...thanks something to play with now

I love this rom and portrait lock ,Thanks friend.

Works fabulous! As soon as I started the system, it felt so light and fast! I really like it! Good job! *thumbs up!*
EDIT: The only thing I don't like is that I can't uninstall Launcher Pro and buy the full version. I just can't uninstall. Any ideas?
EDIT 2: Nevermind, I install an Unlocker and now I've got the full version installed.
Thanks again for the ROM!

just uninstall using titanium backup.of course root required! cheers!
I'm having an issue with this ROM.. I factory reset everything, davlik empty, and clear the partition as well before installing, install the ROM, and factory reset again, reboot system.
Goes to Android load screen and then goes into regular android lock screen (portrait) and then back to the Android load screen, does it a couple times and then either freezes and I have to take out battery or just freezes at Android lock screen.
I am restored back to GingerStreak now. Any suggestions?
For a multi language rom use .351. I use it with Dutch language and it is great stuff
@OP Did you also optimize the build.prop?

Sounds like you have a boot loop.
Try to go by these steps (I did it that way)
1. Put .zip file into the root of SD card
2. Boot into Recovery (I'm using Clockwork)
3. Do a dalvik cache wipe
4. I didn't clear the partition.
5. Do a factory reset in the Clockwork recovery.
6. Choose the .zip and flash the ROM
7. When it says installation completed, choose the option ''Reboot Recovery'' and press VOL UP + VOL DOWN at the same time and keep holding the power button
8. You'll get to the Dell Factory Reset screen
9. Do a factory reset (NOT FROM THE RECOVERY)
10. Reboot automatically
11. Enjoy
Also, download the ROM file again, it might be corrupted.
- Hope it works out for you, it really is a great ROM.

[ROM] MIUI for Galaxy S II *Discontinued because of official support*

MIUI
This ROM is a continuation of bmarko’s work, which can be found here, he stopped with developing but his base remains. The weekly updates as brought by miuiandroid.com will be ported to bmarko’s base and released here.
Installation instructions when coming from another ROM:
Download the latest release from the downloads section and put it on your internal storage.
Boot into CWM, do this by powering off your phone and hold volume up and the home button while booting again.
Select "wipe data/factory reset" and confirm.
Select "wipe cache partition" and confirm.
Now go to "mounts and storage" select "format /system" and confirm.
Finally go to "advanced" select "wipe Dalvik Cache" and confirm.
Now select "install zip from sd card", "choose zip from sd card", browse to your zip select it and confirm.
Finally "reboot system now" and you’re finished.
 Installation instructions when updating MIUI:
Download the latest release from the downloads section and put it on your internal storage.
Boot into CWM, do this by powering off your phone and hold volume up and the home button while booting again.
Select install zip from sd card, choose zip from sd card, browse to your zip select it and confirm.
Select "reboot system now" and you’re updated.
 Downloads:
1.9.30 http://www.multiupload.com/S7898L0C8O
1.9.23 http://www.multiupload.com/8BVQ6VCOC6
 Other bugs:
If you are experiencing a bug that is not on this list perform a full wipe and flash the ROM again, if you don’t know how to do this; just follow the coming from another ROM instructions. When the problem persists after a flash try to determine what can be causing it. Try to find out if certain apps trigger the problem and if it’s there immediately after a reboot. Then you can post your problem with as much details as possible, wait a day before posting your problem again.
Note:
Doing a full wipe causes a loss of data, there are three ways to back up your data. Every option has its benefits, read all three options and decide which one suits your needs.
1. A Nandroid backup, you can do this from CWM under back up and restore. This will create a complete system image, this is mostly used when switching ROM and you want to be able to switch back easily. When you restore this backup everything will be exactly the same as when you backed up, all bugs included.
2. MIUI built in backup, this is mostly used when staying within MIUI. All your settings, apps and contacts will be conserved, except for your mail settings and account passwords, for security reasons. When you restore this you only have to enter your credentials and server settings again, system files are not backed up, so bugs will be gone. Only downside is that only MIUI can restore this, so you can't export it to another ROM.
3. Titanium backup comes in handy when migrating to another ROM. Titanium can back up settings, apps and their data. Titanium backup works on all ROM's so you can back up, flash another ROM and restore your apps and their data. Settings are harder to back up, restoring settings is possible between TouchWiz ROM's, moving them from TouchWiz ROM to MIUI or Cyanogen will give loads of FC's. Same goes for system apps and their data.

Q:How do I install this ROM?
A:Start off with a rooted phone.
Download and pust the ROM .zip file to the sdcard.
Reboot into recovery.
When installing for the first time wipe /system, /cache, /data and dalvik-cache
Wipe /system. (under mounts & storage)
Install the ROM zip from sdcard.
Q:The new version is released on miuiandroid.com, where is the Galaxy S II download link?
A:Our device is not yet officially supported, therefore bmarko has to download the official release, do his magic, and release it for the S II. He does not only have to wait until it’s released by miuiandroid.com but afterwards also has to find time to modify and upload the new version. This takes some time, but normally he uploads within two, maybe three, days.
Q:When will the next release be, and when will you fix this?
A:There is only one rule in this thread:
DON’T ASK FOR ETA’S
For clarity’s sake: ETA means estimated time of arrival.
Q:Is OTA updating working?
A:No, because it’s not yet an official release. Trying it should give an error message, or may download a release for another phone. I would suggest not using it at all.
Q:There is a new version released, and I have to wipe /system, what does that mean and what will I lose?
A:/system is the folder that contains all system files, when upgrading all system files are replaced so all old files have to be deleted. But all your personal files are in the /data folder. That means that you don't lose anything personal when upgrading, all your apps will be kept too. Certain mods, such as extended settings and my gps.conf files are in system though, so you'll have to reinstall them again.
Q:I prefer MIUI in: Chinese - German - English - Spanish - Vietnamese - Italian - Hebrew - Russian -Hungarian

A:L10nH34Rt has ported El Afortunado's multi-language pack.
There is being worked on updates...
1.9.9
1.9.2
1.8.26
Make sure to boot once before flashing the .zips.

A:There is only one rule in this thread:

Q:When will Bluetooth audio be fixed? I really need it!
A:Above applies more than anything to Bluetooth Audio.
Q:I got an inexplicable bug, and the guys in the thread told me to do a complete wipe, what is this? And what will I lose?
A:A complete wipe consists of a wipe of /system /data /cache and dalvik-cache. This means that everything, except for the internal storage, is deleted. If you want to easily restore your contacts, settings and apps you will have to backup your phone. There are three common ways to do this:
1. A Nandroid backup, you can do this from CWM under back up and restore. This will create a complete system image, this is mostly used when switching ROM and you want to be able to switch back easily. When you restore this backup everything will be exactly the same as when you backed up, all bugs included.
2. MIUI built in backup, this is mostly used when you have to wipe your phone because of a bug.
Settings are harder to back up, restoring settings is possible between TouchWiz ROM's, moving them from TouchWiz ROM to MIUI or Cyanogen will give loads of FC's. Same goes for system apps and their data.
Q:The back light of the soft key goes on and off, seemingly random, what can I do about this?
A:I've created a mod that permanently disables the softkey's backlight, regardless of light sensor and backlight intensity. It's a script in init.d so you can easily remove it by removing the file from /system/etc/init.d.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/27703769/Permanently Disable Softkey Backlight.zip
The script locks the backlight intensity at boot, which is normally 0. But when you have BLN enabled and there is a notification on boot it will lock the backlight when it's on. When this happens a reboot after the notification is gone will fix the problem.
This is another solution, main drawback is that you have to enable Automatic Brightness for it to work.
The soft keys respond to the automatic brightness. This is not a bug, but a feature. You can regulate this by going to display settings -> automatic brightess -> advanced options. Enable the use custom levels, and set the values for soft keys. Set all levels on 255 for always on, or all on 0 for always off.
Q:My GPS takes ages to acquire a lock, and/or is far from accurate.
A:Unless you are living in North America this is because the ntp server is set to North America. Changing this in the gps server settings doesn’t work, so you’ll have to directly edit the gps.conf file which is situated in /system/etc. But to make it easier for y’all I created CWM flashable .zips. You’ll have to flash these after every update, simply because /system and all its subfolders are wiped on update. The .zips are found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1233256
If your country isn’t on the list there is no ntp server hosted in your country, in that case use the zip of the closest country.
Q:The audio through my headphones won’t go any louder after four clicks.
A:This also is a known bug, there is a fix. But it’s both unwieldy and temporary. Type the following into a terminal emulator.
Code:
$ su
# /system/bin/alsa_amixer sset Headphone 31
31 is the max headphone volume, if you want to change the volume choose any value betwoon 0 ( completely silent ) and 31 ( the loudest ). But when choosing the volume rocker it ignores this setting. So you'll have to enter it manually everytime you want to change the volume.
Q:I can't access my internal storage through USB.
A:Make sure USB Debugging is activated. Enable it by going to settings -> applications -> development -> enable USB Debugging.
Q:When I reboot my phone data is turned off automatically.
A:This is a known bug, for now: just flip the data toggle in the toggles dropdown menu.
Q:No matter what the size is, the market tells me the file needs to be downloaded over wifi.
A:Open the downloads app from the launcher, and turn download using wifi off. When connected with wifi it will still download over wifi, so don’t fear for your data bundle.
Q:My phone doesn't go into deep sleep.
A:This is a bug in the Battery Monitor, the phone actually does go into deep sleep, but it isn't noticed by the battery monitor. You can check this using CPU Spy:

Q:I can't play music from my external SD card.
Q:Make sure the folder on your external SD card is being searched by MIUI Music. Go to Music -> Settings -> Filter by Folder -> *Tick the required folders*
Q:I don’t like the MIUI camera app, what are the alternatives?
A:There are a few replacements on the market. Most used is lgCamera (https://market.android.com/details?id=rubberbigpepper.lgCamera). There also is being worked on a port of the Samsung camera app:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1239045
Q:Video play is out of sync, or stutters.
A:There are two viable alternatives; RockPlayer (https://market.android.com/details?id=com.redirectin.rockplayer.android.unified.lite), and MX Video Player (https://market.android.com/details?id=com.mxtech.videoplayer.ad) with the ARMv7 codec (https://market.android.com/details?id=com.mxtech.ffmpeg.v7_vfpv3d16). I prefer the latter, mainly because of its interface.
Q:Sounds good, but what does it look like?

Q:Are there mods I can’t miss out on?
A:Take a look here:
http://forums.miuiandroid.com/forumdisplay.php?36-MIUI-Mods
The mods on this forum are generic MIUI mods, unless specified otherwise of course.
Q:And how about the themes?
A:I would suggest looking here:
http://forums.miuiandroid.com/forumdisplay.php?31-Theme-Releases
There are a few other sites but most of them are posted here too.
As for personal choice, I recommend checking out Signa.
Q:Where are the old ringtones? The new ones are horrible!
A:Here's a Clockworkmod flashable .zip with the the old ringtones and notification sounds.

Q:How about custom kernels? I want to use my 1337 overclock skills!
A:Bmarko has aked not to release any custom kernels untill he decides it to be stable.

This is a new version, I have edited files inside the camera.apk to make it film again. Download it from the link in the first post of this thread.
Going to flash this now. Already on the Italian build but with the tweaks It'd be silly for me to not get on this one now
Also lifted from the last few posts of Galnet thread: http://www.galnetmiui.co.uk/landing...n-for-battery-drain-problems.?highlight=drain
no idea if this is of any use or if its needed or whatever...
Thanks for the videofix Gangsterjoop... and starting a new thread, *subscribes*

[Q] MIUI ROM installation

Hello all I am looking to Flash my Samsung Galaxy S2 with the Miui rom, but have some questions.
1-is there step by step guide for first time users.
2-I have go Launcher installed, will I have to uninstall it?
3-will installing the rom wipe my phone?
4-will it replace the ugly default look of the Samsung email program, as this is one of the reasons i am looking to install a new ROM.
Thanks.
1) its like installing any other rom, plenty of thread show you how to do that, start reading
2) no
3) yes
4) possibly, miui is quite different than anything out there.
Mate, seriously, if you don't know these basics things, like if a ROM will wipe your setup or not, what it's going to replace, etc. I really encourage you to not flash a ROM - at least, not yet. Check the links in my signature first, and do some reading on the topic. It'll make your life, and everyone else's, a lot easier.
Now that's out of the way, the answers...
1) "Is there step by step guide for first time users?"
Okay, I'm going to run through this quickly, so let me know if you need me to elaborate on anything. For the sake of my sanity, I'll assume that you've either already achieved root, or know how to...
- Download the MIUI ROM for the Samsung Galaxy S II - make sure you get this right!
- Place the zip file on your internal storage.
- Boot into Recovery Mode (use the volume buttons + power button to navigate).
- Select the 'perform factory reset / wipe data' option.
- Select the 'wipe cache' option.
- Go to Advanced, then select the 'wipe Dalvik cache' option.
- Go back to the main menu, and select the 'install zip from SD-card' option.
- Select the zip you placed on your internal storage.
Now, the device will flash your ROM. Make sure that you've got over 50% battery before proceeding to flash.
- Select the 'reboot system now' option.
Done.
2) "I have GO Launcher installed, will I have to uninstall it?"
No, but you will need to re-install it afterwards - if you wish to keep it, that is.
3) "Will installing the ROM wipe my phone?"
Yes. This is nearly always the case.
4) "Will it replace the ugly default look of the Samsung email program, as this is one of the reasons I am looking to install a new ROM?"
Honestly, if that's a big factor for you, you may want to take a moment to think.. There are plenty of other email clients you can download from the Market if you don't like the stock one. That said, yes it will - there are no Samsung apps present in MIUI.
screamworks.
Thanks
Thanks for the Responses, new to Android so still trying to get familiar with everything. Just reading now how to root the device, which I will be doing first than will install the custom ROM.

I'm glad to hear that you're actually doing the reading, unlike a lot of people. Good luck!

Phone Constantly Saying "Can't Find Your Location

Everytime I reboot my phone and it boots up, this notification appears saying cant find your location. It goes away in about 2-3 seconds. I have checked my location settings and eveything is on except for location history. I don't know what is causing this. Also, I have noticed around this same that this started that there are times when I phone lags quite a bit, it doesn't do it all the time and it seems to happen randomly. I don't know if these two issues are related or not. If anyone has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Anyone have any suggestions?
Well what rom are you on? Have you made any changes to the build.prop? have you modified your gps.config file? These are all thing that can cause this and here are some fixes:
*New rom (cm 12 works nice)
*Go and do a 100% unroot and factory reset (Here's the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089 -Not my fault if your device(s) break).
*You could go and redownload the rom you are on then do this:
1) Extract the .zip file
2) Locate the gps.config (Name my be different)
3) Place it in the right spot/fix premissons
4) Work?
5) Don't blame me if something happens make a backup!

I am on the bar rin rom. I have not made any changes to the buildprop.
I'm on BarRin, and haven't noticed any GPS problems.
Try going into the application manager and clearing cache for LocationServices. It won't hurt to go into TWRP and clear cache and Dalvik cache, either (It's under Wipe, Advanced). No guarantees, but it could help.

Alarm clock not working with custom roms [android 7.1.2]

hello,
the prob is that the alarm does not work, when the phone goes into deep sleep, the alarm does not ring and it rings later when the screen is on. is there a solution for this problem, thank you.
Please, can you explain which device you are using? This can help XDA members to solve your problem.
First of all take the following steps:
1) Go to Settings,
2) Go to Apps/Applications,
3) Find out 'Clock' from the apps list,
4) Tap on Clock,
5) Tap the 'Force stop' option,
6) Now tap on the below option 'Storage'
7) Clear cache & Clear data
See these worked for you or not, if not then you can try a Factory Reset of your device. Don't worry, Factory Reset will not affect your custom ROM. If this also didn't worked for you, then you have problems in your 7.1.2 ROM.
You can also try another 'Clock' or 'Alarm' app from Google Play Store. I think any of these methods will work for you

All steps cited are Already done but no ?, my phone is s3neo with los14.1 rom, I think its a rom related prob because all los 14.1 based rom suffer from this prob, I ask if there is a fix (an app or a patch)
tnx for you replay
There is no way to fix it without going back to the previous ROM.
Or you can edit the Custom ROM if you are quite patient, & flash it again. This is too much risky.
And the easiest way is, if your device is rooted, then you remove the clock app which came with your Custom ROM & install a new one replacing it as default.
If this also do not work, go back to the previous ROM.
"Or you can edit the Custom ROM if you are quite patient, & flash it again. This is too much risky."
I tink it is the solution, but the question is what I should modify?
