Flip cover + Speck CandyShell case - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

Hi, I own a Skyrocket but my wife has a Galaxy Note. She was looking for a case that would protect the screen from being scratched in her purse and also something that would protect against bumps or falls.
At the store, we realized that there was not such a case, but we found that combining these two works pretty good.
So, I jut thought I would drop by and show you guys how the two fit/look.
Regards!

That's actually a good combo. My gf has that same speck case, but I protected her screen with the moshi protector.

can you show a picture of what it looks like when you try to open the front. i would think that it cannot go back very far and stick out

Simply brilliant for someone who needs protection all around. I wouldnt be suprised if case makers made something similar in the future...if the demand is high.

The way it is open in the third picture is the max it can be opened.

I love my candyshell! It just scratches way too easily,

There is a new case on amazon I havent seen before. It looks like a tough flip case for our Notes. Like a Otterbox meets folio cover. Anyways I got one and will demo it once it comes in.

$70 plus shipping to protect my Note. Seems a bit steep. There are a lot of other, less expensive options out there. But thanks for sharing "your wifes Note".

[Q] Cases with a kickstand

Does anyone know a good case with a kick stand? The most important features are just the kickstand and thinness. I know Casemate makes a great one, but it's way too thick.
This one seems okay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/TPU-FoldOut...ccessories&hash=item2eb8015e60#ht_2188wt_1163
But I'd have to make a slight modification for the microphone, and most importantly, I don't know if it will fit. I'm quite weary of any of these cases that can fit both the international and ATT versions.
I bought my GS2 on launch day and ATT had 4 different cases in the store. Case Mate was the only one offered with a kick stand but it felt cheap so I opted not to get it. There was a nice leather case but none of them fit the phone, lol. Guess those will be sent back.

Thanks for the link and the info...I too got my SGSII on launch day and was disappointed at the lack of accessories and items available for the AT&T branded SGSII. I even have communicated with Body Glove about one of their cases (As I have been a fan of that one and used it on my Cappy and Infuse both) but they said they will not be producing a Body Glove case for our phone So I am going to try the above listed one and I will let you know. Maybe even post some screens and update the thread.

I bought this today instead of the leather case...
Its definitely not as bulky as I thought it would be (previous experience with the thrill and infuse pop cases) and the kickstand works great!
It also fits real nicely. The leather case seemed a little too tight and that it would require some effort to put in properly

I've had this for about 3 days now. I think its called Minisuit
Pros: Thin, light, tight fit, good kickstand, cheap, quick delivery
Cons: no hole for secondary mic, generic micro usb rechargers have trouble given cutout (stock cable works fine)
Happy enough with it for now.

I was considering that one, but hard cases are more difficult to cut the mic opening.
ny gs2 doesn't say Samsung or att on front.... only says galaxy S on back cover... is that supposed to be like that
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using xda premium
Ok, I got the case.
Doesn't fit 100%.
The bottom in particular, but it's barely noticeable. The top mic needs to be cut out some more, which shouldn't be too difficult since it's not plastic.
Case actually looks a lot better than I expected. The kickstand is very flimsy, which I expected. Once you put the stand up, don't put any pressure on it. It's very likely to just snap off. The power button becomes pretty stiff, too.
They also ran out of minisuit keychain screen cleaners. They said if I want one, email them about how I feel my order is "incomplete without one," and they'll send one when they have more stock.
Kind of a weird way to make us word it.
Either way, I'd recommend this if you need a very sleek and thin case that doubles as a flimsy kickstand.

new case for our phones

I would have a switcheasy case on my S2 if they made them. I've had a neotouch case on my itouch since the day I got it and the thing looks almost new when I pull the case off. Super-awesome.

I bought a red one from ebay for 8.99. The plastic fishbone is smooth but the rubber inside is kind of thin. But together they work pretty good. I also bought the HTC versions for my husband and son.
Got one of these last month. great case, easy to hold. I got blue hoping it would go good with the ICS theme I am using. It looks great.
been debating on one, how much thicker and heavier did it make the phone.
thanks
Looks nice. Thanks for sharing.
It does give a little weight too the phone, but it makes it feel sturdier. With the case on my phone, it is about .250" thick. It protects the camera lens nicely. I have attached some photos of what it looks like on the phone and off. Hope it helps.
Are they as solid as an otterbox? I have the commuter right now and I'm real happy with it but I could go for some color
Sent from my SGH-I777 using XDA App
No, I don't think so. They are more protective than a TPC case but not an Otterbox.
The problem I have with this kind of cases is all of the lint that attaches to them. I wish they could make these with coated silicone or tpu instead. Lint makes it look terrible.
EBay search link? Case looks cool. I got a tpu and the sgp Neo hybrid. My sgp silicone backing has stared to sag due to gaming >44°c I figured if it gets bad I can turn it into Neo hybrid ex. Haha.

Samsung OEM flip case.... Thoughts?

So I'm looking at the flip case made by Samsung and noticed the back cover is substantially thicker than the one that comes on the phone. It also looks like you could snip off the flap that covers the screen. I know, kinda defeats the purpose but at very minimum, you'll have better protection on the back....
Anyone actually like this case as is? I find it cumbersome for most situations and only see its value for covering the face while in a pocket. I'm thinking to chop the front off and use it just for the back.
Bring on the OtterBox!
As a side Note, the flip case back is also textured and does provide a grippier feel.

Returning mine
I bought mine at the AT&T store. The back of the case is the best part, it is superior to the provided battery backing supplied with the phone.
I feel like the flip cover can get in the way of certain actions, particularly talking photos. It makes holding the phone feel a little unnatural whether you leave the flip cover open to the side or folded against the back. For those two reasons I've gone back to the standard battery back and will be exchanging it for another case or a refund.

I've noticed the same while using mine, especially while taking pictures. I originally purchased one from at&t but have since returned it due to Best Buy giving me one for purchasing the device from them ( saved me $50). This is definitely a temporary case until new cases become available.
Anyone looking to buy the official flip case. Let me know Ian going to sell mine. PM me if u are interested.

Picture taking is not as easy as I'd like it to be. I do like not needing a screen cover. I have a white note with the brown Samsung flip cover. It looks very professional and did not take long to get used to.
Man I went to Best Buy to check this case out and for $30 bucs its about the biggest POS for a case I have seen..
Theres ZERO protection on any of the sides..I'm not even sure how it provides any protection at all really..
I ended up getting the Yoobao Slim case...theres some pics below..

Provides some good drop protection and is cheaper...Doesnt add much bulk and still fits in my pocket with no issues.
I agree its quite the POS for $30. But for free, it'll do..... Until a replacement gets ordered.

Yep... this.
I like the way the brown one looks ont he white but the front is pretty flimsy and they didn't put too much thought into the overall design. The fact that it replaces the back was a nice thought and helped keep the thickness down opposed to a lot of the journal/folio cases you see on Amazon though.
I'll still probably end up replacing it with one of the aluminum bumpers that looks really nice and offer some more protection.

The edge of the flipcover came apart on me today. it is peeling open. the edges are just heat sealed material around a thin plastic slab. have been using since launch day. i have Best Buy's GSBTP so if i drop it and it breaks, i'll just get another Note - so i am not too worried about the protection factor from drops. i like the idea of the flip cover, however it does get in the way of the camera and can make using the camera awkward.
i think the lines / grooves that show in a zagg shield would bug me...
hopefully i will find something i like...
Haters gonna hate.

Ok, I worded that really weird. When I work out, it's unavoidable to sweat, so using my Infuse, I would always have to wipe it down after I talked on it. Yeah, it sucked. But I would rather wipe it off of this, than my screen.
Is this the same one???
I got it for $9 and it protects the corners of the Note. Little flimsy but I thought it was worth the cost and am still using it after 4 days.

I really like the case, its about the same thickness of my platinum series or "seido" case. It's very lightweight with the phone in the case. I like the design a lot and it fits nice in my hand. It doesn't really feel like rubber but more like plastic, although it IS in fact rubber. The leather and stitching is on point, it gives it a nice look and feel. The side treads? Gives the user a good grip. Ive seen a lot of reviews saying it is hard to put the case on, but for me it wasn't even close to.being difficult. For $5 its a steal. High quality case seems like it'll be able to go through many drops without any problems. One more thing it hugs the phone very snug so you can rest assure that the phone won't pop out and it will stay protected. Here's pictures:
The buttons on the sides arent bad btw. The case does not affect my screen protector (rise along the edges or corner). Heres the inside of the case:

Easily removable case for swapping batteries?

One of my favorite features of the Note and S series phones is the removable battery. I'd like to be able to easily swap out the battery while still using some kind of case. I bought a SUPCASE Hybrid on Amazon, but it's so tight and difficult to remove that I'm afraid I'll eventually hurt the phone by taking it off once or twice per day. It's also pushing my screen protector up at the sides because it's so damned tight.
I had one of these cases for the Galaxy Note 2, and it worked very well. It was stretchy enough that I could take it off and put it back on all the time without fearing that I was going to damage the case or phone.
Has anyone found a case like this for the Note 3 that allows easy access to the battery of the phone? I'd pay $100 if I could get one of those Body Glove cases for the Note 3.
I'm considering buying a Seidio Surface because it looks like it might be easy to work with. (Top and bottom seem to slide off rather than needing to be peeled off.)
I have a feeling that I'm not the only one here who's particular about this, so I figured I'd make a post. Any ideas anybody? Thanks in advance.

Searching around on Samsung's online store and it doesn't look like they have them up for the Note 3 yet... shame.
The S-View case is the easiest thing in the world to take off in under a second really, also the other day I put my Caseology case on forgetting to put my battery cover on first and walked around all day like that without any problems lol. But umm yea the S-View if you simply pull on the case it snaps right off the back and it is very thin and light.

I went to a local T-Mobile store tonight and they had way more GNote 3 stuff in stock than I expected. They had a "buy two, get one free" sale so I picked up a S-View and two cases for less than $100. I really like how the S-View feels compared to Samsung's previous flip covers, but it disappoints me that the notification LED is still covered up. It didn't occur to me until after I'd walked out that this flip cover will also totally defeat the usefulness of the "Dynamic Notifications" app which I'm currently in love with.

Yup! Tech21 is one of the three cases I got tonight and it's the one I'm most happy with right now. It feels very solid, looks good and is pretty easy to slip off. There's just enough lip to prevent the touchscreen from touching my desk when I place it face down, but not enough to make it difficult to remove. It peels off way easier than the other cases of this type I've tried. :good:
I can tell you from using the flip cover for Note II, any Samsung official flip/s-view case is going to be the easiest option for wapping batteries, I do it every day and can't wait to get one for my Note III
Spiegen Bounce case is super easy to take off yet is still very protective.

I don't think samsung is going to release anything official under $50 until all the half off coupon codes expire. Right now there is one item available to use that code on, the S pen and nothing else.
