Splashtop THD (and maybe others?) support right click - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

Go to Asus Customized settings and change to context menu when you right click instead of back. Then when you right click in Splashtop, it right clicks on the desktop!

Yeah, damn it only works with THD for now for some reason. But soon I hope it will go to the rest. Still, damn nice to have!

FWIW PocketCloud has right-click support. One of the big reasons I moved to that. Oh, and not needing a server on the other end.

Yeah so does RemoteRDP, but usually RDP or VNC connections are slow, and don't render video and audio nicely. And THD has a gamepad to play games as well. Just giving others the option to have right click in splashtop, I know other apps do it, I've helped the devs with logs and we've got it working. Streaming is the issue, it's just choppy for video and audio, anything else work should be fine though.

tried it on my Nook Color, doesn't work with the Plex server version for Windows. I can see/browse my media but as soon as I hit play, it stops and drops the connection.
Also, ripped my quite large DVD collection and I have over 100 movies in a list. Large collections will crash the server immediately. Obviously not fully baked yet.
Didn't experience crashes with Plex server, works well for me both on my nook and my iphone. Quality wise I find Airvideo works better for the iPhone. Also note that Plex is smoother in Nookie Froyo than it is in stock nooted form even with a 900mhz overclock on the nooted system.
In the end I'll stick with plex for now since I really like the scrubbing of metadata it does for my library.
Not sure if the libary issue you had soricon was due to too many entries, for me I have 30 tv shows with various numbers of seasons each all organized into folders ( TV\Show\Season X . . ). Plex server is running on Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit, system is a 2.5Ghz core2duo with 4gb of RAM.

Remote Desktop Question

Splashtop Streamer works really great for just remoting in and doing things. However, I wanted to see if anybody uses a different remote app. for playing games on their desktop/laptops?
I wanted to try Minecraft and it works really well, the arrow keys work but when I try to use the mouse, the pointer uses the pointer on the tablet and not in Windows. Splashtop doesn't really have a lot of features, anybody have any experience with a different app. that allows the pointer to be used better in windows?
Id be interested to hear from what other people are running as well. I'll be using my prime to connect to my work pc so I can do estimates on the go.

Because that has about 5% of the features of the actual Minecraft game. Also, my cousins run a server and you can't connect to those in that app.

Thanks for sharing but I just tried PocketCloud and it was a laggy mess compared to Splashtop.
I use teamviewer more often than anything else. I haven't tried gaming with it, but just thought I'd through that out there as an option.

Appreciate it. I'll try it out and post if it can work with games or at least Minecraft.

Well for gaming, there's the OnLive option. Bad thing is it'll cost some money. I really haven't seen anything else satisfactory to stream games.
are there any RDC apps that don't require you to install a host on the other PC? just being on the same network?

Well all windows PC, windows xp and beyond have rdp all you have to do is enable it and then you can connect to it with any rdp client.
Teamviewer is what I use, works great on every platform I have tried.
I use log me in ignition and i love it.

The Xtralogic remote desktop app is a real RDC which doesn't require anything to be installed on the host system. It actually interfaces with Windows software beyond just showing you a clickable image like a lot of VNC apps.
My question is has anyone installed Xtralogic RDC on their prime, and does it work well?

I used Xtralogic Remote Desktop Client. It's in Market for $25, but there's a trial available. I use it on my Galaxy Tab 10.1, my Galaxy Nexus, and have used it in the past on the TF101 and Galaxy S.
It works with the built-in RDP server on Windows 7, Vista, XP. I used it every day to manage a Windows Server 2008 R2 box. It also supports Terminal Services (RD Gateway) and Windows 8 (tested it with a Windows 8 VM).
It's not the best for streaming video from another computer, but in terms of true RDP compatibility, I have yet to see anything that beats it. $25 buys you a lot of updates, support, and flawless functionality.
@thegadfly you must have responded right after I clicked reply I'll be getting the Prime tomorrow so I'll post back here when I test it.
I used Splashtop on my TF1 - only one I found that properly used the keyboard and touchpad in the dock. Will be sticking with it for the TF2. Tried the phone version update on my Note this morning (now supported 720p resolution) and it's awesome - faster than before and new touchpad input is great.
Probably a silly question but is there any program that allows you to physically turn on your PC remotely

[Q] How can we solve the remote desktop right click problem?

So I got my dock today and I've begun sampling remote desktop solutions including several RDP clients, VNC clients and Splashtop HD.
So far Splashtop seems to be the clear winner in terms of video performance, which is important to me as I'd like to at least be able to do simple things in games with high video demands (check the auction house in MMOs for example). The problem is that when I plug in a USB mouse or use the touchpad with Splashtop HD, there is no right click support- right click seems to be bound at some level to back in Android. I have not pulled the trigger yet on Remote RDP (paid) because I already own splashtop, so any comparison between the video on the two would be great, also.
So, questions:
How might it be possible to change the way android sees a right click from the mouse? If it were possible to make android see a right click as a random rarely used character like ` (tilde), there are ways to tell your desktop to interpret such a key as a right click (mousefighter comes to mind).
If the above proves impossible or unwieldy, is anything comparable in terms of video to splashtop?
I agree splashtop is pretty incredible from a video standpoint. You might try gotomypc? I believe they have an android app.
I didn't know about this right click issue, I've been using splashtop but I don't have my dock yet.
I'm sure there is a workaround...

i use pocketcloud. The free version only allows one config but i just reconfig when i need to. It has a nice mechism for different mouse and keyboard functions but i have not tried an actual mouse with it. Not sure how good video and stuff is since i just use it to admin servers. It does pass windows sounds though.
Plz post in the Q & A forum..
Pocketcloud Free does support right click from an external mouse Sadly, de paid pro doesn't I hope they will upgrade soon.
I don't know if this would theoretically help, but in ICS there's a setting to change the touchpad right-click to long press rather than back. Doesn't seem to work for me though...

Long press left mouse button=right click in Splashtop. While that's not perfect it doesn't seem to be a particular problem, or at least in my use it doesn't.
I use this, and right-click seems to work just fine. Free and real RDP (not another program that needs to be installed on the desktop) makes it perfect for me.

Don't know how well video works, though. I've never expected video to work over RDP.

How is GTA?

Wondering if anyone has GTA 3 and can comment on the gameplay?
I also heard the oldschool cheat codes will work on this version, but only with the adition of a keyboard ... does the keyboard dock work for this?
Gameplay is super smooth, all effects are turned on. Connecting an Xbox controller is also supported by GTA 3 with no setup required.
Haven't tried any cheats, but the keyboard arrows work, if that helps.
Love it. a blast!!!
The game is amazing! Never played it on the PC before but I have been told that everything's original (which is a god thing). You can go from mission to mission or also just drive around which is incredibly fun as well.
Perfect scenario for me: playing it on the Transformer with keyboard (+ mouse), works great and it a lot more comfortable that using the on screen controls. Most cheats from the PC also work and - although I haven't tried it- even patches work by changing files in the data folder. I just have one patch applied that improves the graphics overall (colours and details).
There's no sound for me, I assumed it was like that for everyone?
Otherwise it runs well, definitely recommend it but the lack of sound is a bummer.

Mine is smooth as butter.
Ran the GTA3 Full Effects Fix and added the Audio folder into the GTA folder.
Now I have rain, higher resolution, and other effects. Sound is enabled which allows me to switch radio stations in-game.
No lag.
I followed this guide. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1400756
Hope this helps

How do you want to enter cheats/ text without a keyboard attached? Or do you just mean the Transformer Dock? I use a Logitech keyboard and cheats work (at least most).
