How would one remove the volume limiter on stock rom? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

The Samsung galaxy note seems to limit the available volume because of safety reason. I found a post that removes the volume limit for call volume but I need it for music volume

I've tried everything that people have suggested. The only thing that worked was using an equalizer from the market and then using an application other than the stock music player (like power-amp) to listen to music. Unfortunately this doesn't sound that great as even at small equalizer gain values it seems to degrade the sound quality and ultimately at higher gains distorts. Sadly even after rooting and running non-stock ROM's I can't seem to boost the audio values.
In most headphones and auxiliary ports the phones volume is quite good through the mini-jack. However, my work truck is awful and it needs to be boosted and maxed when streaming internet radio to even have a moderately loud listening volume.

Volume+ app by Meltus worked for me on the Unofficial ROM -- at least I think it did. Maybe it was just the EQ settings that did it?
Can you point me to the post that removes the volume limit for call volume? That's exactly what I need!

Same here. Call volume is pretty quiet on GB, or ICS.

This is a little silly, but have you both made sure you're actually lining up the speaker with your ear when you're talking on the phone? The phone is so big that it didn't line up the same as smaller phones. I notice quite a bit of difference when I adjust the speaker to line up directly with my ear.

I did notice that in your other thread. It did make a real difference but not enough unfortunately.

Headphones are way too loud

Hey guys, with my touch hd, i like using my in-ear headphones although they are far too loud when using the music player tab in manilla. how can i put the volume down?
try searching, there's already a thread about this.
as far as i know, that thread suggests using advanced config to set the music player value low. Setting it to 1 still makes it rather loud for a minimum sound level and so this doesnt really solve my problem.
also, with the audio booster enabled, how do i change the overall volume?
the only way ive been doing this is by creating profiles with various changes to the overall db values (ie subtracting and adding 1 from total, 2, 3 etc.) but this is a long process and id have to do it for every config.
any ideas?

This maybe a bit simplistic and you may have tried it, but why don't you take all the frequencies down to -6 in the Audio Booster? This in theory should drop the overall volume by -6db? The other thing I did was buy high impedence earbuds which where 150ohms, but ear buds are not everyones thing. I don't like "in the ear" phones myself. I have some yuin PK1's....they are superb HiFi.
If the music is too loud, you can edit the registry to fix it:
Local_machine\software\HTC\AudioManger_eng\Config\ music_player_volumn
Change the DWORD to 10 or lower and soft-reset the mobile
(Original value is hexadecimal: 64 or Decimal: 100)
You have just decreased the maximum music player volume in TouchFLO3D
Here is another tip.
If you want the phone to remember the last volume used with headphones, so that the next time you plug them in, they will automatically play at that last volume, you can also do this in the registry. The only problem with this particular tip, is that after every soft-reset, you'll have to enter the changes again in the registry.
But here is how to do that:
Local_machine\software\HTC\VolumeOverlay\SavedHand SetVolume
Change DWORD to 0

How about using your Stylus (or finger) to lower at minimum?
Rgds,
huh?
Why would you edit registry etc?
Whats wrong with the up/down volume keys or as stated the volume icon in taskbar?

In some cases, (and I had this problem), even having the volume at just a couple of bars was pretty darn loud. That meant that it didn't give you much room to play around with a decent volume range. Basically, you knew you never needed the volume louder than just a few bars. If you wanted to rock out - it was fine. But if you wanted to listen to music at a soft volume, it was not that easy. If you turned it down a bar or so, it would drop the volume quite a bit and another bar down meant no more volume. Also, the side buttons drop the volume faster than if you use your stylus. So, that meant that using the buttons sometimes dropped the volume from loud to mute in one press. So, I had to take the stylus out every time to carefully lower the volume just a bar or two. And that gets annoying.
So by making the registry adjustment, you are basically setting your desired max volume to be at the top of the bars. Now you have whole range of bars to slowly drop the volume down when you want to listen to softer music.
Not everyone has this problem. I had it with my stock ROM, but once I started using Dutty's ROMs, I never had a problem with it.
I see, 5 mins out of box Dutty's ROM on my HD
This problem went away since i switched over to kwbr's Topix a while ago. It seems to be a result of some headphones having a higher sensitivity to others, so they interpret the same electrical signal into a louder sound, hence why HTC try to eliminate the problem by giving a set of headphones which are known to be the right sensitivity.
also, once i have the volume all the way i have it, how can i change the volume? when using the audio booster, the volume control no longer works

I don't understand your question.
However, when I use the audio booster, I can still use the volume buttons as usual. Do you have anything else installed that could be interfering with it? For example software to map buttons?
I think you should use WMP to play, easier to adjust the volume
Try using one of these:
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/apple-iphone-stereo-handsfree-adapter-p15226.htm
Works well, microphone and answer button work, and has a volume slider so you can tweak volume as required.

which rom are using ,definately seems to be a problem with your headset as it has nothing to do with left/right speakers.
Hey, it's not a problem. I want to do that myself. I suffer from tinnitus and it's only on my other ear, so I'd like to balance the volume so the sound will only come from the right speaker.

SO...in tha specific case you need MONO headphones.
I think if you try to output double power from one of the audio channels you'll have audio distortion...
Thanks I'll look into it then

[Q] ThunderBolt volume limit increase/ Always on SRS?

Is there any way to modify the software on the ThunderBolt to allow for an increased volume limit that would make the speaker louder for low volume apps and maybe even have a hack to enable SRS to be always on, since its currently limited to just the Music/Video/Gallery app
I listen to Sirius XM and some other streaming apps at work and my volume is unsatisfactory compared to what i had with my Droid Incredible, and seeing how we have a larger speaker with SRS capabilities, I think this would be handy for ThunderBolt owners if we could somehow get a hack for this.
+1
For music and stuff i use Power amp which has a built in eq and a volume booster.
But as far as streaming and anything that you can't use power amp for I also think our phones could/should be louder.
I have a hard time hearing people during phone calls and am constantly holding the vol up button trying to make it louder. I have heard people complain about theirs being to loud but can't remember which rom thread I read it in.
Is this even possible to make our phones speakers louder?
While searching for a fix I found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1047241
I just dl it and have yet to install it but thought you might b interested. Lemme know your thoughts about it and if it helps.
I will do the same as soon as I get my crying baby to sleep
I think the thunderbolt volume and vibrate is very weak. When I set the ringer on low I can hardly here it. When I set it at full volume it doesn't seem loud enough, especially when driving. Is there any way to improve this?

Volume Booster? Not media

I"m looking for a volume booster that will make ring tones and the like louder, not the music (that's plenty loud)...but I guess I have a hard time hearing and it seems like text/ring/notification/email tones are all very quiet, even with the volume turned all the way up.
Anyone? Also running ICS.
I think there's LITERALLY an app called, "volume booster" XD check it out man!

I thought it was only me having that issue. I have a new Motorola elite and the Jawbone era and I can barely hear the ring notification on my headsets. When I answer everything is loud and clear. I'll try the DSP apk as well and I'll post something if I find a fix. It's the same whether I'm on ICS or any of the collective roms.

Just curious did you root your phone or alter the ROM? On the free version it gives a warning not to download if you are using a stock rom or Kernel. I am stock just wanted to make sure.

Does it increase the in-call volume when using the handset? If so, how did you do it? I can't get it to increase mine.

Phonespeaker during call to quiet

Hey
I think that the speaker at the bottom of the z ultra is much too quiet during a phone call. It is hardly useable while driving car.
Is there a mod to get the speaker louder?tl
Thanks in advance.

Simply flash THIS stereo sound mod:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z-ultra/themes-apps/true-real-stereo-sound-earpiece-t2822893
I advise you to go with the V10 update, best version.
Loudspeaker, ear piece and voice calls are far louder than stock, far better quality with almost no distortion.
Flash the above sound mod and get back to us.
I'm personally using the V10 stereo mod sound and it works wonders, highly recommended.

No need to wipe your rom. Simply boot into recovery mode/CWM and flash the audio mod. Reboot phone and enjoy the sound and stereo speakers.
With this mod you get sound out the ear piece when using loudspeaker giving you stereo effect.
I too had very low volume, especially when making phone calls in a loud environment. Even using the volume to the maximum wasn't enough.
Using applications such as Skype/Talkray were even worse, volume too low.
After flashing the audio mod, my volume is now set to 6/10. Any louder and my ears ring, too loud!
Flash the given sound mod. Try some music, videos and phone calls upon completion. I'm sure you'll be more than satisfied.
Thank dontbelieve for his hard work. It was him who took the time and effort in making this mod. Support and updates were frequent.

Yes it is wooow cool.
I looked at the mixer_path.xml the rx?digital volume is everything on 84. Rx7 is for the speaker right? I changed it to 94. Is this option for watching video/music and voice call? Which volume is for headphones?

I have tried V1 all the way to v14 and the BEST one was V10.
Sound was louder, clearer and less distortion.
Most other updates had boomy sound, too much bass and not as loud as V10.

Correct. I have my Rx7 volume to 94, perfect for me.
Volume for headphones will be under 'headphone voice cfg' setting. Mine is set to 94.. You will find the option further down the speaker cfg. Also change the 'headphones' value to 90 or 94. 'Voice speaker' is set to 105 for loud and clear call volume.
Lastly, 'headphones' is set to 94.
Once changing the above values, make sure you save and reboot for the desired effect to take place.
