Pebble e-paper smart watch - HTC EVO 3D

What do you guys think?
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/597507018/pebble-e-paper-watch-for-iphone-and-android
I love the design and the fact that it's water resistant.
pledged for one already

Looks pretty cool but didn't Sony and a another manufacturer make something like this already?

Looks pretty cool to me. Reminds me of the ipod nano with one of those watch straps.

Ahh here we go the Sony version:
http://allthingsd.com/20120412/sony-thinks-it-is-time-for-another-android-watch/

There is also wimm one watch. But its pretty fat and looks laggy..
I think pebble is the only one that works with both Android and ios. They keep on adding extra features as the funding grows. It went from planned 100.000$ to 3mil. in few days. Amazing.

The Pebble is pretty cool. I have been using it for a few days. I love the music control.
If anyone is interested I have a review thread in the Note 2 section. Pebble E-Paper Smart Watch & Note 2 [Review]
Also if anyone is interested I have an extra black one. I know they can be hard to come by. But since XDA shutdown the market, I have it listed on eBay. Pebble Smart Watch
It would be really cool if a fellow XDA member got it!
Does anyone know if you can use a bluetooth headset at the same time? No one knows for sure yet, and I haven't bought a headset yet. It would be really cool to have music completely wireless.

I got rid of my Flyer

I sold it. Why? Because there is no official upgrade or whatsoever since I got it on May, and most of all, the scribe pen is useless and have very little function to it on evernote. I paid freaking $80 for the pen! $80! And all it can do is take down notes! I could have bought any other tablet for that kind of use. But what I really bought it for was for sketching and hoped that it would function with Fresco app... but HTC won't do a damn thing about their $80 pen. So long Flyer!
so, we care because?
and which one did you buy?

If you have any bad feedback about the flyer post it on HTC facebook page o twitter, i love the scribe pen and his integration with evernote but seriously as someone said here "if you are going to buy something, buy it for what it is and not for what it will be".
All you have written in the first post says to me that the flyer wasn't for you (and it is one of the best tablets that i have used) and the fault was your bad choice of shopping a product that will fits yours needs and not the tablet itself.
Amen to 13lizzard. This is all generically a "PC" world because of the "personal" part of computing. For me, the Flyer is the best set of price, feature, size, and quality out there, and obviously it is not for SC23 - great, I get it - but above all, BUY YOUR TOYS FOR WHAT THEY CAN DO, NOT WHAT THEY MIGHT BECOME. That's kind of like marrying a gal not for who she is but how you think you are going to change her...
I don't know how you couldn't make use of pen, but I now use Flyer instead of carrying a lot of notebooks with me while working with customers at field. You can make a full report with photo, notes, and even sound record. Even with HC update, pen is much more useful. Maybe you should go for iPad2

I got rid of mine too. F it. Why keep a 500 dollar device with no support. Second people can post whatever they want, the difference is you guys kept the Flyer then complain. He got rid of his problem and moved on. I went and got the Samsung 7.0 Plus, and couldn't be happier.

Well I paid 300.00 Enjoy your Samsung, their support is no better than HTC's. Go talk to the original Galaxy tab 7 owners who are still sitting on Froyo, a device they still sell for $300.00. Threads like this serve absolutely no purpose. Be sure to shut the door on your way out.

I'm good couldn't be happier. They have already rooted the tab and removing bloatware. I'm happy to pay 100 more with a camera flash, dual core 1.2 processor, plus lighter and thinner. Oh an IR Blaster too.
Oh and some people paid 500 actually got jipped.

Its basically a crap shoot with any of these manufactures. Except Asus Acer since they dont produce many phones. They all pretty much suck for updates. However the xoom has been doing well. I chose this because the flyer was too much drama, no root, no way to go back from HC, and no support.

Well, you can root and now there's a way to get back to Honeycomb. Good luck nevertheless.

I got rid of all my electronics and went back to something that is fully supported by multiple vendors.... pencil and paper. Does the job and no waiting for updates. I am a little miffed that sharpener 3.4 isn't on the market yet though !!

I can't decide whether you are being sarcastic or honest.
I switched to pencil and paper for a bit. The UI is bare, but its as natural of an interface as you can get. An added bonus is the low cost of hardware upgrades.
i have even found the customer support rubbish for when pencil hardware failed multi times and needed to be rebooted with sharpener. i think it has boot looped and now run out of battery
Meh. The reason I won't touch any android manufacturer other then HTC is:
1) HTC Sense
2) Build Quality
I have always known that HTC uses inferior CPU/GPU; However, the build quality + software MORE then makes up for it.
I work for HTC and have been using the Flyer with Honeycomb test ROMs for a couple months. I absolutely love it. Flyer + Honeycomb is brilliant.
Flyer fans, keep the faith! You will be rewarded soon.

Question from a non owner

Hello all, I am a iPhone 4s user (please no hating), but have a Galaxy Note on order (I have finally seen then Android Light). The reason I am posting in this forum, is a local shop is selling Evo 3D's, sim free £250 less than the Galaxy Note, (£250 as opposed to £500). I know the Note is a fantastic phone, read loads of reviews, and have played with one in a shop, but should I cancel the order and buy the Evo 3D. I have watched videos of the Evo on youtube, and it looks way cool, just looking some advice from folks who actually use one.
Hello, all, really hoping someone can lend an opinion, do want to miss the boat with the price being what it is.
Cheers
Depends on your needs mate. Evo3D is a great piece of hw, but its gettin outdated specwise & therefore the cheaper price.
I would wait until feb/march. There are new models comming (quadcores maybe with ics)
Sent from my HTC EVO 3D X515m using XDA App
I surf the web loads, like the ideas of missing with custom roms, and use the phone to track my training and runs. Also use my hone as my
Primary camera. It's the price that is very appealing to me, I guess the question is, would I regret buying one. I actually really like the kinda retro look of the Phone.
The Camera's are nice. 3d Video and Pictures are cool to show your friends; you can even play them back on any 3d tv/monitors
The front facing camera is nice too, Voice chat is really nice
But I think there are other phones with better cameras if you don't need/want the 3d; don't quote me, but I believe that someone mentioned the Sensation having a better camera.

What phone is currently available with better hardware than EVO 3D, also, what quadcores have officially been announced and release date given.
I think this is a great phone. Probabaly best you can buy spec wise right now. 3-6 months from now that will change, but this is the world of electronics.
Space for rent
What a sad reply. I have owned Android phones before, I never said I hadn't, I briefly owned a Galaxy s2, a desire HD, and a motorola Milestone, but have also owned every iPhone. I wasnt asking about Android, I was asking for opinions on the Evo 3D, I have never owned one of them.
I find it offensive that you have called me a Troll, I only post if I have something positive to say, I am a busy father, and work very long hours, so only pop into the forums now and again, as you can see from my few and speratic posts.
I thought this community was meant to be friendly, not abusive, I simply wanted advice on the Evo 3D from guys at this forum who usually have very constructive and interesting opinions, opinions I generally value.

Yea I got mine last November and is a sweet love and amazing device.
Sent From My R3Dimensions.
I wouldn't say at all the the hardware is getting outdated at all. It's a really great piece of hardware and I love everything about the phone. I've had it since September and still not one complaint!
For half the price of the Note, the Evo 3D is a go !
It's a cool phone, screen resolution is awesome, the 3d is cool to play, watch, and show to friends, althought it don't play heavy 1080p videos, i would choose it.
Got mine last november, loving it, and very anxious for the release of ICS.

Ordering my note today...

Since my experience with my infuse was so horrible and I mean horrible (replaced 5 times) they are allowing me to upgrade my second line early so I figured I'd spend it on the Gnote, my primary line is up next January so I figured the note will hold me over for 11 months. How good is it? I've played with one briefly the other day and really liked it.

Its great so far , get it. You have 30 days to play with it just in case.
I'd like to think the abundance of positive threads in this forum attest to what a wonderful device it really is. I am absolutely in love with this phone, and haven't felt this way since the first time I played with an iPhone back in 2009.

You won't be sorry! I came from an iPhone 4S and I'm not sure the camera is quite as good but its still excellent. And the rest of the phone is far better! I'm in love with the screen and I'm just beginning to get the hang of editing pictures with the S-Pen. It's an awesome phone! I ordered two extra batteries and a wall charger from Amazon to go with it so that I'm never stuck to a wall.
I came from an lg nitro HD and this phone is awesome.I smile every time I pull it out of my pocket. And something really cool that I just noticed is that Swype rocks with the s-pen.

I really like my note alot, perfect size IMO. I have no problem going from my ipad2 to my note but using my note then picking up my Atrix or iphone4 and they look tiny!

OFF TOPIC Thread

I didn't see one in here so I thought I'd create a thread.. just bought 2 HTC One's today for me and the wifey both. Coming from MyTouch 4G > Galaxy S2 > Galaxy Nexus > Galaxy S3 > Nexus 4 and now to the HTC One I have to say I am impressed with this phone. I actually like Sense 5 and the design of the phone as a whole is very nice. Not too fond of the app drawer yet but nothing that can't be changed by launcher of course.
Sound off about what you love or hate, just wanted to give us a thread to chat.
Oh and not having to hack my LTE into existence is nice.. (Nexus 4)
Hello, fellow my toucher. Welcome to the One community.

Thank you gentlemen. Let's enjoy and exploit these phones for all they can do!

I have a feeling this forum is going to get more activity soon. This phone was a sleeper now people are waking up to the fact it's pretty much the best phone available. Opinions vary, of course.. but it's certainly making an impression on the tech sites and to the users.

I've had left and came back to the one 3 times ...now
It is a very good phone sleek built well... Camera has had alot of time and money invested into the software and hardware aspects of it, thanks to HTC.
I think it's all about two things the look/build material and the camera
***Side note the HTC one ir blaster is Better than the s4, with this one it learns codes easier and also ...
I wanted to point out lol for the lazy folks
that like the remote function you can point this phone anywhere down sideways up ways behind you anywhere and it turns channels .
On the flipside the s4 has to be directed right at the tv or it's a no go...
That may seem petty to some , but I think its brilliant, who wants to lift a phone and point to get the job done .

Here I come

Well...I just ordered my Incipio Watson case for the Note 3. I've been a HTC fanboy since the original EVO. I have been on the fence for a while now. I have the HTC One now and have my upgrade on Jan.1 I've messed with my wife's SGS3 a little and not too thrilled with touchwiz. Oh well, I have 30 days if I don't care for it.
Hows everyone enjoying their Notes on this beautiful Christmas day?
I flipping love it!!!! Coming from iPhone and HTCs
