Mmmm but your firmwares are for MT15i not MT11a US/Latin America Trade... Anyways Thanks

Hm, have you tried flashing any MT11i firmware on your MT11a?
And may I ask why you need Generic Trade US or Latin America?

Yep, i tried MT11i FWs and those works flawless
On the other hand...well, my phone is an American version so i want back my generic FW due:
- Warranty Terms (I am still in)
- In order to get the proper updates
- The Mt11a FW files will be useful for US/American Users

Hola Amigo
I created one firmware, but due to the old stuff i found, it is just 4.0.1.A.0.283 (cust USA).
But if you are okay with that, please, help yourself. Flash it with Flashtool.
It has been tested on NeoV in Brasil (i created for my girlfriend's brother and he successfully updated to .62), and it is fully working.
**!!** But please, be aware, I can not take responsibility if it bricks your device.
So please only use if you know how to upload it. And if you experience anything strange or fault, I suggest run SEUS **!!**
So if you accept my 'conditions', here we go:
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?f0ayp7oxg65bxfk
I really hope it can help you!

In this qustion we can use google as toilet tissue and to send us some useless sites.
Seriously. I was looking for the same thing, and just could not find. For free.
Omnius-server provided a 'part' firmware, which i completed with the official generic version. This how i was able to create one.
Now everybody pushing that bloody ICS, but the GB has been just left behind, so no, we can not find it for free. Just with Wotan which no longer free.

thank you, I really appreciate your help.

http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/35239?tstart=0....probably this might help u..
Hit thanks if it helped u anyway!!
Cheers!!!

No, thank you. Wotan requires a "client" instead of just distributing standard and signed ROM-/FTF-files. It is a really bad practice that paves the way for malware, trojans, viri and all sorts of shady activities. I am also looking for the Nordic generic ROM for the Xperia Ray, so I'd very much appreciate it if anyone can be kind enough to make a proper torrent file out of ST18i_4.0.1.A.0.283_(1252-5332).ftf.
Thank you in advance!
Yep right ... No wotan and please no torrent (wont be enough hosting), just upload.to or any other
I'm currently uploading it to 4shared. Will be done in roughly 1 hour

Andy - please forgive my ignorance, but can you please tell me what region that ROM file is meant for? The filename is Xperia Ray (ST18i)_4.0.2.A.0.42_CE.ftf, but to my understanding the usual region number isn't there. Since I'm searching for a generic Nordic ROM, here's hoping that this is what I'm looking for.

Hmmm sorry I haven't got a clue. I don't understand what Nordic is? Lol
Sent from my ST18i using xda premium
The Nordic Region is Scandinavia + Finland and Iceland, so basically all of Northern Europe. Generic Nordic ROM-/FTF-filenames should contain the number sequence "1252-5332" (like "ST18i_4.0.1.A.0.283_(1252-5332).ftf"), but since the file you have uploaded doesn't adhere to this standard, I'm not really sure what to think. Anyone else who can tell what region it is?
thank you so much andy ... even though its a pretty big download (dunno if it would be really smaller as zip)
@dude
Since its obviously labelled as 42 version with the ending CE for Central Europe its almost 100% sure not your requested nordic version, but exactly what I asked for!

What you can do I guess is downgrade to gb then edit your SI code in build.prop to the one you mentioned above, then update through pcc or seus.
That's what I'm doing when it repressed for my country to see if there's any difference.

That's what is written under the battery. What about yours ?
According to WotanServer, for Greece the SI is 1252-3310, which should be right because for versin 2.3.4, DailySecret was preinstalled.
I uploaded the ftf for the official ICS 4.1.A.0.562 (1252-3310), that I got from Update Service, here:
www (dot) go4up (dot) com/link.php?id=1XMUwpP0RVNb
(new user, so I am not allowed to post links)
Thanks mate.
Do you know how to install cwm ?
for root there is this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1600728
which mentions cwm been compatible here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1346190
Didn't try it, I do not know if it works!
This one is working for sure: go4up.com/dl/1KBs1gvSnW7A
How to:
1.Enable USB debugging (settings->developer option),
2.Enable Unknown sources (settings-> security)
3.Connect usb cable to pc
4.Run .bat file
5.Connect usb cable to phone and press any key on keyboard
The phone will reset and its done
P.s 1253-3310 should be the Greek firmware i had it before and "sony ericsson update service" upgrade it to ICS same firmware.
You can check which version you have by pressing in dial pad *#*#7378423#*#* service info->software info, its the customized version.
Worked !
Now , i'm on official Greek ICS.
Thank you for your help.

Where is the text file? Sorry I'm a stupid newb!
'the attachment'
Respectfully, to the OP and anyone who has found and used the attachment mentioned in this thread, I can't find it. I'm not dumb, I've worked in IT for over 20 years and I use several online forums for different things.
There is clearly a trick I need to learn. Would anyone care to enlighten me please, because this build sounds perfect for my MT15i?
Many thanks

Good luck.. Hope you will post some screenshot afterwards..
The baseband is still 72 ?
just a curious question, does the home launcher in 4.1.B.0.587 is smoother now like in GB? the only reason i had moved to my own ported miui because of it's too lag in 4.0.4
Out of curiosity which country is this update for?, I'm still waiting for the original ICS update in UK, and my phone is sim free, and they haven't updated the SI Numbers for a month.
recieved the update here .. in egypt
Anyone can post the ftf file?
Hey plz tell us more: D

PC Companion says the update is there, but it fails while starting the update process. It is globally failing now, for Ray and other phones.
So, no update for the moment

btw, did you lose the ROOT ???
Wonder what the deal will be with rooting this one? Hopefully it won't be like ICS 4.0.4. - i.e. using Flashtool to flash 4.0.3 kernel (then root & CWM) and then flashing back to 4.0.4 again. Then again, if someone posts up an .ftf for .587 it should be straightforward enough. Hopefully anyway!:fingers-crossed:!
I got update in georgia but same global fail while downloading firmware.. almost bricked my phone..
I got the update, UI just like previous stock one, but feels lot more smoother than before. I added some screenshots

Yes, this for international version, I'm uploading the american version too.
And I confirm that can root and install clockwork mod such in 431 firmware.
Just flashed to 4.1.B.0.587. The UI is definitely smoother, and the camera lag seems to be gone as someone else has pointed out. Also the phone in general seems to be faster. I can also confirm like the others that the rooting trick for 4.1.B.0.431 works on this new firmware.
Could you guys please post some link with rooting instructions and necessary files to achieve it? Thanks a lot.
guys what about led notification? sms, missed call? working or not?

[Q] Questions from someone without a clue

Hi guys,
I have a Sony Xperia U (st25i) and the bootloader is locked
So i've gathered I can't root the phone unless i'm in ICS. This is the problem tho... I am with T-Mobile and am currently running Android 2.3.7.
My question is, in my current situation how do I upgrade to ICS (T-Mobile says I have the latest upgrade) also i'm assuming once i'm in ICS I can do some fancy stuff than compared to the Android version I'm in right now !!
Thanks for any help guys.

Hi bz786,
I was in a similar situation like you. had a Xperia U and SIM locked to a company. Instead of endless waiting for the company to release the ICS, I just did flash by myself.
Well... there would be no fancy stuff anyway.. unless you root it and install a custom ROM cuz the stock ROM or company ROM always uses up most of the tight 512M ram cap...
Cheers,

Hey bz786!
Dont worry you can flash the firmware yourself using the programm "flashtool". Just do some research in google. And here is a link for a .54 firmware and "root-tuorial" http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34983966
And by the way, you post.this request in the wrong forum! :what:

Thanks guys! I went ahead and used flashtool but... now I have a problem
So once ICS was installed I was ecstatic however my 3G was not working. So what I did was go to the phone settings and download the internet settings again but now the 3G is much slower than previously on Gingerbread. I think I messed something up with the baseband or installed a firmware which has the incorrect firmware settings (for me).
Does anyone know where I can download (UK, UNITED KINGDOM - This is a must I think for the 3G) Sony Xperia U ST25i T-Mobile ICS stock ROM? (Wow that's a mouthful LOL)
Thanks guys!
