2- Is it dangerous? Flashing wrong bootloader seems to be...

Yes, Flashing a new bootloader is very risky. If you flash a wrong one, or something goes wrong during flashing, say goodbye to your phone. If you're on ICS you can try triangle away to reset flash counter (i only tried on GT-I9100 make sure that you can run on GT-I9100G)

What procedure u followed?
Sent from my GT-I9100G using XDA App

AFAIK, bootloader is not ROM based and can be flashed. I did it on my SGS2 seeing JIG would not reset my counter. Flashed while on GB 2.3.6 custom ROM and IT WORKS as my JIG is reseting the counter just fine afterwards, I personally can't tell if it works for ICS builds but people on web reported it did (google is your friend). However, as with all flashing procedures, it is a bit risky... Find chainsfire's ROM thread and download old bootloader, read around and use CWM... well, GL.
So to resume briefly on your questions:
1- Have any one done this procedure?
2- Is it dangerous? Flashing wrong bootloader seems to be...
3- Where are these old bootloaders?
Click to collapse
1. Yes
2. There is no wrong bootloader - just old and "new" ones.
3. Chainfire's ROM thread
Example of succesful testimony, see here: http://androidforums.com/galaxy-s2-international-all-things-root/518798-siyah-ics-kernel-v3-x-2.html
or use Triangle away apk by chainfire.
Hope it helps.

well
I think people are making this confuse with 9100 information on a 9100G thread.

Hi,
here you have a bootloader for GT-I9100G which is working with the USB JIG. I have tested it on my own GT-I9100G!
Howto Flash with Odin:
reboot into download mode
start odin
connect your phone
extract the .zip-file
load the .tar-file as PDA
uncheck 'Auto Reboot'
check 'Phone Bootloader Update'
start flashing
wait for the message '<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 1 / failed 0)'
disconnect your phone
remove battery
connect the USB JIG
insert battery
wait for the massage 'ERASING DOWNLOAD INFORMATION SUCCEEDED.'
remove USB JIG
hold power-button until your phone reboots

must flash boatloader 1st then use jig to reset? lol thats why my jig wont work..

You're absolutely right. I confused i9100 and G versions as I was in a hurry to provide any info available. My bad.
Still, it is the same principle and method to be used on both
Cheers for posters and links!

You're right, sorry for that! I don't know what was going wrong when I uploaded the file...
I have replaced the attached file. It's now a .zip-file, so you have to extract it first and than flash the .tar-file!
This time I have checked the file and it's working! (I have downloaded the .zip-file, extracted the .tar-file and flashed it to my phone to be sure it's really working!)
Once again: Sorry for that!

1. Download Eugenes 'Froyo that does not brick' file.
2. Extract the files.
3. Open Odin, plug in your phone, then put it into download mode.
4. load the PIT file in appropriate area.
5. load the .tar file in the PDA area.
6. DO NOT check 're-partition'.
7. Click start, let it finish. Your phone will load and reboot into stock recovery. It will error out again. DONT panic! This is what's supposed to happen.
8. Now, pull your battery.
9. Download the 'True stock 2.1 firmware for the vibrant'.
10. Extract the files.
11. Once again, open Odin, plug in your phone, put into download mode.
12. Load the PIT file into the appropriate area and the .tar in the PDA area.
13. THIS TIME you want to check the 're-partition' box.
14. Now click start, let it finish, and this time your phone will load up just fine.
If I learned my lesson to not post this kind of thread here, do I get to flame him? Is there a waiting period? What is the flame policy on xda?
problem with the odin is that i do it all but when i hit start it says <OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 0) even with right PIT and PDA
my apologies i'm new here i did not know that they're certain areas where i cry for help.
Your noobiest mistake was posting this in here lol.
Then my questions would be is your phone in Download mode when you're connecting to ODIN and is ODIN recognizing your device? It sounds like it is not and that is why you get that error.
yes it is in down load mode is there another way to be reconize its the caution looking sign saying do no turn off target!
That is Download Mode. Does ODIN recognize the device however? Is it telling you the device is connected and showing the COM port? If not, then you need to install/reinstall the USB drivers.

Haha... nice one! But actually... flaming is just childish, but I would be glad to see ppl actually posting "questions" in the right forum... That would be the "Vibrant Q&A"-section... But I can also see why ppl post in the dev-section, as it's here they find the stuff that "bricks" their devices, that's caused by NOT following the directions carefully...
But hey... you learn much from "bricking" it
OT:
If your in DM and you can see the COM-port assigned in ODIN, you should actually be fine... Sometimes mine get stuck inside ODIN (nothing flashed), but the I just have to restart the program, and while I'm inside ODIN I re-enter DM...
thank you soo much and im sorry for posting in wrong area, also thank u for reminding me that i deleted the samsung drivers a while back.
Which windows are you using? If you're on Windows 7 are you running Odin as administrator? For some reason I can't get it to work and odin hangs as administrator so I just run it by double clicking on it w/o options. Try doing both and see what works for you.
Sent from Vibrant XDA app
When you have Samsung drivers up and running, make sure your phone is off and Odin is not running. Then, start Odin, plug USB in to your phone while holding both volume keys, do not press power.... your phone should go into download mode and Odin should see it and it should flash.
I have to do it in that order, otherwise Odin wont work for me. Some people say that you should hold volume keys and power Ans then connect USB. If I do that, then Odin sees my Device, but doesn't flash. Just, fyi.

u can use kdz with the emergency mode...nothing to do with the USB debugging...the problem is the phone is not recognized...try many times with the "shaking technique"...it will work for sure, it worked for me...

well i am saying that be sure to enable usb debugging in future for the time just use the method to revive your phn back ,when ur phn is on just be sure usb debugging is enabled and than flash recovery using any method u r comfortable with, use the lgmdp method its safe and kdz flashing is used the shaking method when the phn is in dead condition as ur phn boot to lg logo so the lgmdp method will work even the kdz but the later one is bit risky.
Get lgdmp (firmware flasher) on PC

Now u will enter emergency mode
In lgdmp click select port
Phone will be detected automatically -> press connect

Unzip the downloaded recovery into a folder
Open the extracted folder as the image folder in lgdmp
It will show some errors. Don't mind and just close the image selection window
Now press download in main window of lgdmp
It will flash recovery to the phone
After its complete u can boot to recovery by keycombination menu + volume down when pressing power button
Hope it will help

God! What the hell are you doing!
Do you even know what happened to your phone; No!
So don't go for anything
You got your CWM 5.0.2.7 corrupted while flash
So just boot into fastboot mode and flash CWM 5.0.2.0 via fastboot method
@All here: If anyone of you, could please link him to fastboot unbrick method from Bytecode's repo
By the way. What ever you try but KDZ and LGPMD won't recogonise your phone
So no chance to use it
Most probably he will be confused like hell by seeing all those answers like
Go for lgmdp no go to kdz no phone bricked ma money oh GOD.. :banghead:
Am not spamming by the way lol........

Completely switch off your phone
Press Power + Home button
It will boot into fastboot mode and then just follow the method as shown on the thread (link that you mentioned)
Make sure to download 5.0.2.0 CWM recovery image from here
Two things that i wanna advise you about
1) Read that thread very carefully, understand what you are doing and follow each and every command.
2) Make sure to rename the download *.img file to recovery.img
Note that .img is the extension and not to be included in name
I'm sure this will help
Once done, type in fastboot reboot and wait for the phone to boot to the previous instance, where the phone was before this happened
Avoid using 5.0.2.7; its buggy

OTA Update turned Galaxy Pocket Boot Loop

Help Please?
I had my Galaxy Pocket rooted and got the Jellyblast v3 rom, it was doin fine until I checked on the app OTA and check for update, a new update appeared which is the Nemesis 2.5 Hybrid-Holo Editon. It asked me to download it and so I did. When it was done, it asked me if I wanted to install it and so I did, and rebooted. Later I noticed that it was already boot looping. I tried pulling the battery off and to clockwork mode, with the proper procedure..the holds and presses, but still it just kept boot looping. Tried to connect it to the PC using the USB chord and yet it just shows the charging icon and sooner it turns to white. I tried Kies but still it turned white screen all over again; no device found.
Can someone PLEASE help me with this one? PLEASE, PLEASE guys? I know you guys are knowledgable on these kind of issues. :crying:

I also received the same message and downloaded the update file. when ask to Reboot & Install i selected install the device booted in CWM and i selected update from .zip and selected the downloaded file in OTA Download Folder.
The update was successful, yet the ROM looks in BETA version.
Following are the issues i am currently facing in the updated ROM
1. Gallery ICS was Force Closed, later it was solved via uninstalling update.
2. Quick Panel, Nemesis Hub, Nemesis Owner Info & Nemesis Sound Boosters are giving FC messages.
3. OTA is giving INVALID ROM Message while updating.
I´m having the same issues.
After downloading and installing the OTA update, my device is keep stucking in the boot loop.
When I do to the recovery, I always get automatic update with the update.zip, which means I can't get into the full recovery to select another functional image.
Well I hope it's not bricked. Is there a sollution?
Thanks
I have repaired that throught ODIN MODE, like described here:

For all the SGY Users who are facing issues after updating Jellyblast 3.5 to Nemesis (I faced it too) here is the guide to recover your phone:-
First to repair your phone you have to flash stock rom via odin .
Here's the guide for Flashing Stock Rom via Odin
Requirement: 1. A Samsung Galaxy y phone model gt-s5360.
2. A computer running on windows xp, vista, win7 or win8 with proper USB driver installed to connect your phone to computer {If you have not installed USB Driver for Samsung Galaxy Y then to Install USB Driver}
3. Stock Rom file : you can download stock rom according to your choice and region from the xda thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1465800e
4. download ODIN: 1 .85.(google it as i cannot post outside links)
Installation Instruction : [ Charge your phone battery min 80%]
1. Download the required file Odin AND Stock Rom. zip and place in a folder on your desktop .
2. Now extract both with any file extractor.-- Odin v1 .85 .zip and the stock rom zip( file which contains the stock rom i. e 2 .3 .6 )
After that extract Stock Rom file after unzipping you will get three files :
PDA _S5360 _DDLK2.tar,
MODEM_ S5360 _DDLK2.tar &
CSC_S 5360 _DDLK2 .tar
3. Now turn off your Galaxy Y {Remove the battery for 5 -10 seconds and insert it back }
4. Go to Download Mode by Pressing Volume down + Home + Power for 5- 10 sec to boot in Download Mode
5. Now you entered in Download mode select continue by pressing Volume up button .
6. Now attach/ connect your phone to computer via USB cable .
7. Now on your computer open Odin v 1 .85. exe
8.Now make sure you are getting yellow box in ID:COM ( this means that your device is now connected and detected by odin )
9.Now Select those 3 files u download before
PIT - "totoro_0623.pit"
BOOTLOADER - "BOOT" file.
PDA - "PDA" file.
PHONE - "MODEM" file.
CSC - "GT-s5360- MULTI-CSC" file.
10.Now clik on start .
And let be ODIN do its work and wait till you see PASS in green colour it mean the flashing process is complete successfully . Samsung
11.Remove your phone from pc 12.Galaxy Y will auto reboot .
Now if you want to install nemesis Rom, you have to install the nemesis Rom 2.0 (Nemesis Titanium) first and than you should update the Rom by downloading the update file via OTA and flashing the zip file through CWM.
I hope my suggestion will solve your problem.
Did you wipe data and wipe catch before installing ROM??
Did you try flashing original ROM with Odin or others??

This case is very simple to solve. When you try to install a custom recovery with your bootloader locked, the phone system detects it and give you a message of an error in security, like in your case. To solve this, you'll need to reflash your rom. By doing this, the KDZ will reflash the original recovery and you will be able to access your phone/recovery again.
Step by step:
1. You need to install fastboot drivers: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2119090
Turn off the phone and remove the battery. Download THIS and exctract it to C:/. Open device manager in windows (Rigt click on Computer > Manage > Device manager) and connect your phone without the battery to pc via USB cable. Look in device manager for a new hardware connected, right click on it and click in update drivers. In the window open, select "Search for software driver in the computer" and in the window open select insert C:\fastboot\usb_drv_windows, tick the option "include subfolders" and advance. A pop up window may appear asking you if you do want to install the driver, choose YES and the drivers will install.
2. Navigate to the folder you extracted (C:/fastboot) and double click on start.bat. It will ask you for administrator privileges, just say yes.
3. Select your phone model (2 for P760, 3 for P765, 4 for P768 and 5 for P769). It will ask you to turn off your phone and remove battery. When you done with that, press enter. It will now ask you to insert USB cable with the phone without the battery and after 4 seconds re-insert the battery. Onde you done with that, it wil return a message to press any key. In this step the fastboot drivers may be installed again. Don't worry, it's normal
4. Remove the battery again, wait a few seconds and re-insert it.
5. Plug the USB cable in the phone with the battery in and let VOL UP pressed. The phone will enter in SW Update mode.
6. Follow THIS to reflash your rom. A list of avaiable official roms of different models is HERE. Remember to only flash roms made for your phone model or you may get some issues.
7. You're all done I recommend using THIS TWEAK, the phone becomes more responsive.
*** If you flashed a JellyBean rom (V20X.kdz) you can easily root with THIS and if you want CWM recovery use THIS ONE ------ REMEMBER NOT TO FLASH ANY CUSTOM ROM WITH THIS RECOVERY BECAUSE I'M CONSIDERING YOUR BOOTLOADER IS LOCKED AND FOR THIS REASON, YOU CANNOT FLASH CUSTOM ROMS WITH CWM, IT JUST DOESNT WORK!!!
Hope it help you
It works!!

Thank you so much. Yes my P769 BOOTLOADER definitely is locked and I can't even root it with all methods provided in xda, I use exactly your method to get my L9 back to life -- although I have to flash it back to original stock but at least it's BACK! Thank you so much. I saw some other people have the same issue but they can't make it work, hopefully your answer shed the light to ALL!
security error just use the lg pc suite and remove the lines or the host put recover via recovery and put your imei and it will start to download the stock Rom

I tried this method and the offline kdz method and here is the trouble I am having.
1. With this method I do everything perfect the device shows up for a couple seconds then it disappears so I cannot go any further.
2. With the offline fix I followed the OP to the letter and when I get to the part where I click on "normal web upgrade" I open it and start the upgrade as stated in the OP and nothing. I get the retry or cancel internet warning and ignore or close it and it will not even try pushing the file.
Anyway I have tried 2 different machines to no avail I am wondering if anyone has had a similar problem and fixed it?

Didn't work for me! But I tried another method and that saved me from a lot of steps.
Just install the driver and the latest LGMobile Support Tool
Start your phone in Software upgrade mode... Power + Vol up
In the LGMobile Support Tool click on Options and then Upgrade Recovery
Put your IMEI in the option that pops up
Wait for the miracle!
It worked for me ... NO MORE LG SECURITY ERROR

Wait, so that means you CAN go into download mode?
If you can, you have to do the following:
The only solution to this is to flash the stock firmware with Odin.
DISCLAIMER: I WILL NOT HOLD ANY RESPONSIBILITY IN THE EVENT THAT THIS HARD BRICKS YOUR DEVICE. FOLLOW MY INSTRUCTIONS AT YOUR OWN EXPENSE!
Now that's out of the way, let's get to it.
The only problem is, the sites that host stock firmware images have download throttling and you need to sign up. If you're willing to sign up and wait a couple of hours, you can try this:
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-core-prime/SM-G360H/
Firstly, you will want to download the file. Just select your mobile carrier's country (for example, if you used O2 in the UK, it'd be O2U or O2 (just an example)), then select the download link.
You'll need to sign up, though.
Once it's downloading, in the meantime, get Odin from here if you don't already have it:
https://odindownload.com/download/Odin3_v3.12.3.zip (latest as of the writing of this post)
and, if you don't already have them, USB Drivers from here:
http://developer.samsung.com/galaxy/others/android-usb-driver-for-windows (I didn't need them, but I advise you to use them)
Install the USB drivers first (if needed), then extract the Odin zip.
Now, you need to wait until the firmware finishes downloading.
Then, extract the firmware ZIP.
The firmware should have G361F followed by a load of random letters and numbers and have the extension .tar.md5 or .tar
Now, fire up Odin and boot your device into download mode.
Press Volume Up at the custom OS warning screen.
Now, connect your Android device to your computer and wait until Odin shows [Added!!] and your device appears as [COM:] something.
Now, click AP (or PDA) and browse to the firmware and select it.
Wait until Odin shows [Leave CS].
Now, I warn you, flashing a stock OS usually saves all your data because it only needs to flash the system files. HOWEVER, in semi-rare cases, it WILL wipe your data (but very unlikely and rare)
Here is your last chance to chicken out and leave it for now. It should be fine, though, if you followed the instructions correctly.
Now, click START in Odin and sit back, relax and DO NOT DISCONNECT YOUR DEVICE FROM THE COMPUTER until your phone reboots and (hopefully) boots up to Android!
If you can't access Download Mode or Fastboot mode, I'm sorry but you're stuffed as far as I know.
