Project kitchen sink (cm9,miui,cna,aokp,gummy, plus tons of options) v2.0 5/3/12 - Motorola Photon 4G

What is project kitchen sink?
Its cm9, miui, cna, and aokp in one installer with all the options, tweaks, modifications, and changes you could ever want.
Best part is you get to choose what you want and don't want. You can even change options and try different setups anytime without multiple cwm zips.
Status: 1.3
What's in it so far?
too much for listing at this point. Basically the kitchen sink
What's gotta be done?
Testing
More stuff
Aokp
translations
Polish
More tweaks
requests
htc multtask
modded google maps
-Tablet mod
downloads
cool facts for fellow devs!
900 line installer script
900 line aroma script
close to 2000 , ; and other annoying syntax bits that could go wrong
3 full aosp roms
total of 700mb shoved into 350mb
well over 150 test zips(stupid syntax errors)
by far the most bipolar project to date.
Also requests are nice especially during the building period

The first rule of KITCHEN SINK is...YOU DO NOT WIPE BEFORE FLASHING!
The second rule of KITCHEN SINK is....YOU DO NOT WIPE BEFORE FLASHING!
It NEEDS a rom installed on it for touch to work!
Gonna work to keep the MIUI portion as up to date as possible as quickly as possible....MIUI.us releases on Friday, we usually release ours Sat/Sun.
Plan to work on updates being a small flashable zip with what's new so it's not a full new install....update will contain mostly have options
If you have an idea for a theme, ask bytethegroove...he's done a great job with the buuf version. We're looking to get some more ideas.
Hopefully, though, with this coming week's update, MIUI will finally fix themes.
So, before mentioning it, read....THEMES DO NOT FULLY WORK right now through the app...it will theme parts, but not all. Only full theme is the buuf that byte did at this time.
Note: CM9 Music doesn't fully work in MIUI. MIUI has integration of Music app in the notification bar as well as lockscreen, so if you choose to use cm9's music app...it may bork

will be keeping aokp, gummy, and CNA (if the Dev becomes active again otherwise just cm9 base updates, fixes, and mods) up to date and on par with the threads themselves.... if not better with all the extra options in the sink.... feel free to hit me up in any of the individual threads for help on the ROM you are using just be sure to mention if its coming from the sink or not... hope you guys like what this is becoming I know I do......... but....
above all play smart make back ups and enjoy..... thanks

Guess I'm 4th

Look up in the sky, it's a bird, it's a plane, it's a frog, a frog? it's super rom!

Cannot freakin wait boys!
So... What types of requests can we make Jokester???
I've been looking forward to you actually completing your ics build so you can get into your mad scientist tweaks with speed and themes and whatever other magic you have up your sleeve... Obviously that probably won't be until around June when we have an official ics Rom drop for our phones... So what exactly can we request for this upcoming MASTERPIECE of flashgasmic goodness???

Exciting

[REQUEST] Theme–Orangeglow

A dark schemed theme with orange n dark blues. Really high right now, so ill add more details of what im imagining later.
Ill be glad to donate to anyone that will produce this for me though, or give good directions on how to design a theme n i'll make it myself.
Mmm orangeglow
Mobile Glowy Atrix.
How about making the theme complete with a boot screen which shows Superhero flash's bolt instead of motorola's M..?
Wp and icons may be configured accordingly..
Just a suggestion..
Cm7 comes with 3 themes stock and one of them is green with orange highlights and orange overglow. Shady is porting over his themes to cm7 as well too. Cm7 make swapping themes so easy to its all done with in an app. All you do is load theme Chooser and flick through some themes and then hit apply on the one you want. No flashing no fastboot no rommanager. If your willing to hop on the cm7 train.

I've heard many complain that battery life is flaky at best.
Which is why im still on my stock 4.5.91 with my own mods.
It's still extremely stable, does everything I want, is modded the way I want it....
Benchmark scores dont mean **** in real world application...
Most ROMS are only faster in benchmarks....again no real world difference.
Meh.

MOD please remove thread

I had some things to figure. this is what I decided, I'm currently working on (4) themes and that is way more than I can handle. so I will move the TC 2.5 link to the Twisted Stock page for those of you who still want it.. all work on the 2 unreleased projects will stop, for now. updates on Twisted Colors will SLOW, not stop. for me it really is about Quality not Quantity.........I will leave this here for a few Days Then request MOD delete......
Here it is.. Twisted Colors 2.5
First things first...If you have a Vibrant meltdown, its on you...you should know what your doing by now! anyway.....This does not work on Simply Stock "next project" however it did work on 5.0 so if you go that route and your phone explodes, thats on you to.this is my first public theme so be honest but be nice. this theme is in noway complete. (about 90%) I have flashed this theme roughly 60 times throughout stages with no undesired results...If you like what you see just hit the thanks button, thats all i ask. i did not use rom manager just flashed through recovery. Please keep in mind guys it will only get better. I did flash this on my test phone and my daily driver, no issues for me. oh I did have 1 issue I changed some TWiz icons but they refuse to take. I use Zeam so its no big deal for me. if you use anything else you want notice.. ok enough small talk here it is
Twisted Colors 2.5 update: minor edits +more twframework edits
http://www.multiupload.com/DI2D30M8XY
P.S. feel free to rip it apart, eat it, bury it or borrow the icons. I don't care. I just ask that you give credit. i did use a couple of icons from SPLASH OF COLOR "with Permission".
Sounds good. Will it be compatible to Simply Stock JVS 2.3.5 also?

Can you make one for the new jvt?

[Mod] [Updated 12.7.2011] Rosie done up with some color...

Rosie with a splash of color
Update... Updated...
5x5 drawer with custom backgrounds now posted....
So here is the deal... Since myself and killathenoob are finding it hard to find the time to really give everyone a full on theme (And i will be taking a break to mess with my new GS2)... I thought it might be fun to give everyone a little something to play with...
I have modified Rosie with some nice application drawer backgrounds... These will work in ANY Sense 3.0 Rom...
On another note... IF you have a custom image you would like done special for you, just let me know... Its not a massive deal at all for me to do... So dont be shy.... I will mostly work on requests during the day... So evening requests will need to understand i wont touch them till the next morning...
I went with the colors most seem to like... Green, Blue and Red... And semi-transparent...
How to:
- Download to your PC
- Move to your storage (Recovery specific)
- Nandroid
- Flash
- Reboot
Things to note:
- Stock Rosie base
- Lots of xml edits to add in transparent and image backgrounds, along with 5x5 drawer...
- No, this will not flash the surrounding theme shown in the screen shots... (Most of it is just a skin, and not mine)
Reserved for me and future additions...
Looks great!
Thanks much....

What happened to the themes for TW projects? You had some DOPE-ASS custom icon/status bar shapes that really pushed the .png options out there.
TW lost its main developer for the last 6 months while he took care of real life... Now that he is back, I will be back with the team... I have amaze obviously and a GS2 on order... So my more cutting edge themes should start back up... Just need to manage my theme work with my real life... Been focusing on work, my painting (water color) and a lot of charity work...

[ROM][PROJECT] ∞ Ultimatum 0.5 Beta (Unreleased)

Last ROM before i moved... And you guys better stop whining about "finish the f***ing project before moving to another...."
Ok guys, this is a project i created, and yes, its another themed rom but with minimalistic features. What is planned?
Ok i have been talking to ZduneX25 on fb about the stuff what is gonna be cool... So this is what im thinking...
V0.4 alpha (Expectations to finish before 10 Feb)
-CyanogenMod 7.2.0-nightly-0
-CyanogenMod Kernel (Blackscreen fixed! Yay!)
-An unknown themed framework that gives a minimalistic look...
-Camera.apk has changed...
-Minimalstic Gapps (Based by temasek)
-BlackICS Keyboard
-MIUI V4 Icons (And its not easy to change icons in every system apk)
ETA: 18 more days.
Do give me a feedback asap... You can also feedback me through facebook (Fan Page) and Twitter and also G+....

right, phoenix-android have to be hardcoded because every theme used with
theme apps are slowing down the system:
i try to explain why:
Android have a standard builtin "theme" or "style", a different for Froyo, another for Gingerbread and another for ICS.
Every UI element looks for a "theme"-option other than the builtin, if another theme is found, the element have to
load the new theme resources on the fly when creating the element. this triggers a re-draw on the element and slows
the system because it must be done for every element in the activity, so loading gets slow and even when using the
app: all loaded resources arent cached because the themechooser app stays "on the top" on each application and isnt builtin.
@Dax
Why don't you complete your projects before you start new ones?
What happened to GBS,Sonygenmod?
Also, ICCS needs a stable patcher because their are so many features and apps which have colour overlap and also ADW FC's all over.
I appreciate you trying to start new projects which IMO have loads of potential and currently seems like an awesome idea.
However, i think you should consider finishing the older projects before starting new ones.
Don't take this as a personal hate message or something, but this is just some constructive criticism.

(Sense MIUI my ultimate rom)

Ok this new miui on the ics sense base is really smooth and rocks. Yet I miss the sense launcher. I know thete ate many who have removed it from their roms. I would like to know what files had to be removed so I can try and install them on miui. From all I have been able to find out is that miui has kept all the framework intact so I would presume that all I need is tjr correct apks. Then I would have the best of both worlds.
(Sense MIUI my ultimate rom)
Ok with a little help from the dsixda kitchen and a few workarounds I now have progressed to MIUIics-Sense 3.6 merged rom.
shortly I will have a download link for people to play with. Feel free to report any issues you have here, but since it is just a project for my own enjoyment (at least for now) there will be no support what so ever from me.
The basics:
ics base
MIUIics from digitalhigh 7-27 test
stock miui ics kernal (for now)
What works:
all sense widgets
wifi
3g
gallery (had to reboot to work)
call
What does not work yet:
4g (which I dont have so I dont care) or it might
superuser FC's
all of the newest miui issues I have here also
Download
to come
md5sum
1d04bee72941d3c536c54070ddb9863b
Evo 3d on cricket
Not gonna happen
I am a noob, but from what I see, your only choice is dual booting
wow look at the negativity here. I do see this happening and it might be a large task but it is possible. dual booting is just lame. I dont want to reboot just to access a few features of some rom.

Take the sense Rom that you want and extract it to a folder. Then take the sense-based miui zip and extract it to the same folder and overwrite the sense Rom with the miui Rom. Then zip the new combination and see if it flashes.

FYI as much as I love using dsixda's kitchen, you wouldn't need it to do what you describe. Simply moving the files from zip to zip would work just fine.
Have you tried a Sense Rom then downloading MIHome from the market? Ya it won't have everything MIUI but its a hell of a lot easier if you want full Sense and slightly less MIUI aspects. Just wondering
ok so a little research questions. 1. what sense would most be interested in? I am thinking about going back to 3.0 when I get most of the issuses sorted out. 2. Who would like lee droid tweeks? 3. What key features would you like? 4. Dont ask about sprint bloatware it is gone forever in all my releases when this hits the developer section. 5. Any suggestions on fav. kernals? 6. We need a sweet rom name so lets see what yall have in mind.
Finally would like to thank all here at xda for their knowledge, help, and a place to grow.

well mihome is not what i am after here. I personally hate the miui launcher which is part of what lead to this project. I love sense which is why i got an htc phone in the first place. I want miui for the extras it has, and sense for the launcher and widgets. as i have said ealier i have a simi-functional rom so far and will be doing more testing and changing over the next few day. some of my issues have to do with the sources I have used to start this with. I have a sprint ics rom from an ota that has problems by itself than the new miui 8-3 that is the first sense base released for the 3d. So yeah i have all the problems from base plus issues from the merger of the two. As the issues from the bases get sorted out so will my issues.
any suggestions on a file host site?

Well the only kernel that you are allowed to use is either Mac kernel, or stock.

Your allowed to use it. Just can't post the download link to the Rom its included in here. Then it breaks the rules of XDA.
For instance..
I have 2 versions of my DX Rom but there's only one posted on XDA because I respect both forums and try to follow the rules of both of them. He could do the same if he chooses.
ok so i got it uploaded link is in op and at the end of this post. many issues so far but this is the first try. I am waiting on permission to use another base from the vm leak which will fix a few of the issues i have so far. i have only merged the two roms and have not started any work on tweeks. hope this is just as much fun for yall to use as it is for me to build.
Peace,
Love, and
Happiness

ok test rom is working fairly good so far. tested most features and they are working I have added screenshots, now I am only waiting on permission from my donor roms before I can post a link. If you would like to test also pm me and i will give you the link.
edit:
incoming calls are hit and miss
If you're waiting on permission from me - feel free to post.
As was suggested earlier - you might have more luck ditching Kitchen and just using BeyondCompare to diff the two extracted ROMS. I cannot edit a ROM without it...it's that awesome.
I'd do like was pointed out - extract my MIUI and the Stock ICS, diff them, and then grab basically everything you want in /system/apps on the Stock side that says "HTC..." in it. Most of the widgets start with HTCfriendstream.apk and whatnot. As you've already established, the majority of the frameworks are identical, with only framework-res, framework.jar, services.jar, and android.policy.jar being edited.
So, it should stand to reason that if you're using the Rosie launcher, you can probably utilize all the stock HTC apps but keep the MIUI navbar, notification, dialer, etc.
Either way...definitely get BeyondCompare and diff the two ROMS. Otherwise you're just kludging around in the dark...
Edit:
And the permission f/c can be fixed by grabbing LBESEC.apk (something like that) from MIUIAndroids' GSM port.
