[Q] Notification leds??? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi, i know there is not a notification led on GS2! ( bad) , but im wondering if the roms here can added this on our phones?? or can someone make a zip file so we can see the blue red yellow colors when received calls/sms/etc....
i know we can use some app from the market! thanks a lottttttttttttttttt and sorrrrrrrryyyyyyyyy

on the siyahkernel BLN i think its called is supported, where the menu and back buttons flash or light up while the screen is off, there is no way to make them change colour as there are no coloured LED's installed apart from white... hope this helps!

You could also try noled from play store, pretty fun

[Q] any flashable zip or apps for led fading control?

I tried flow control and light manager but all does not offer fading light control.the led effect is similar to when Samsung stock boot screen, the light was like running and interchange. This is a nice effect! !
Any way to enable this effect in notification?

mate i dnt use siyah
but i guess its under misc
there is no bln/breathing for siyah in sgs3.
Only if you use CM/AOKP roms can you have led fading.
I found that the N.E.A.K kernel supports led fading.

[Q] Button light for notification

Is there any app which turn on the light buttons if i have call or message notification? and thanks!
Yes. Backlight notifications (BLN) Can be activated on siyah or dorimanx kernel via exTweaks. For this you'd need to be rooted and be on either one of the above two kernels.. uses the LEDs of the two capacitive buttons like the notification LED on the nexus phones.

If noobs on xda have taught me one thing, its that smartphones just aren't for everyone.

i dont need screen to be open.... i need those leds..
No, it's works when screen is off. Can use it for email sms WhatsApp missed calls etc. Very customisable too.

Yeah, but when noled app is active with a notification, screen led stays open....so it consumes more battery than touch keys i think.....

Not really. If you really knew what your phone is capable of... The LED "bulbs" which your screen is made of are turned on only if there are any colors to display.this means that when you have a wallpaper, half white half black, only the bulbs where the white color is will be turned on. The bulbs on the area of the black screen stay off and that means that having no LED indeed is more battery saving than turning on the backlights.

Not exactly. NoLED is actually a known battery sucker even on an amoled since the phone is awake all the while the notifications are on. The advantage though, as someone mentioned is its customizability.
BLN on the latest siyah can be used without wakelocks (BLNWW option in exTweaks) but you don't get the blinking/ breathing option if you activate BLNWW. On standard BLN (with wake locks) you can have breathing or blinking LED options. Also can set it so that it deactivates itself if the battery goes below a set threshold..which is why I'm assuming it didn't work for the OP.

Do they work if you use the test button. Look at the charging options too. I apologise if the "easy tick box" comments offended you.

Any apps that are compatible with N2 for having control over what the LED shows with certain notifications?

Light flow gave me talk back issues. I hated this. I use light manager. No talk back and as far as I can tell it works perfect:
1. Lights are correct. (Blue is blue, red is red)
2. Light blinking is spot on. 1 second is 1 second, 2 seconds is 2 seconds and so on.
3. Again, no talk back issues
4. If you are rooted it has the option to add 3rd party apps.
One thing it doesn't do as far as I can tell is keep the light on when the screen is on. I hated this at first but to tell you the truth I really have gotten used to it, and I think I prefer this.
Just my 2 cents

Relatedly, is there a list somewhere of all the colors the LED is capable of (or is it capable of any color)? A Google search was unhelpful for me. Coming from a Thunderbolt with a orange/green notification light I'm hoping for something better.

Lightflow currently has issues with the phone and using it will force you to disable the Air Hover feature with the S-Pen.
I also had issues with the LED staying on after reading text messages. Bummer because I LOVED the program for my Nexus and bought the pro version.
I'll give light manager a try.. thanks!

I'm rooted as well. I installed and lost all Swipe functionality and every time I rebooted the phone acted as if I was using for the first time (help pop-ups).

The note 2 has red, green, and blue lights. It will make any color using those. My suggestion is to download light manager and test to see what I am talking about.

I like using LED Manager. It's just as good as the payed version of Lite Flow (or better) but free.

Are there an other alternatives that also customize the vibration repeat pattern? As somebody already mentioned Lightflow does not allow airview on the Note.

Capacitive buttons used for notifications?

Can someone please help? I've read that it was possible to set the Capacitive buttons on the bottom of the phone to light up for notifications. If this is true can someone please point me in the right direction?
And just to clarify, I've searched and searched but I can't seem to find out how to do it.
Thanks in advance!

BLN: back light notifications
You need a custom kernel with the bln and module built in and on a tw rom you will need to get the bln app from the market.
Some aosp roms have that feature included in the system settings themselves, and if not I'm pretty sure all aosp kernels have that module in it for at least the app to work.
I use this kernel (r3) + BLN app from the Play market.

Judging by in your signature it shows you as having a Note 2 I would probably go ask in those forums about BLN as I am sure flashing one of our kernels that supports it will cause you to have a nice big paper weight

[Q] Lightflow constant LED?

Hello everyone,
Okey when I had my Nexus and used the Lightflow app, and a certain notification popped up in the notification bar (that notification was setup in Lightflow with a blinking LED) with screen on it would also blink.
On my note2, if my screen is on and I get that notification, it doesn't blink. I have no idea why.
Anybody familiar with Lightflow? Any ideas how I can make Lightflow blink with screen on?
Sent from my AK-55
Have you checked out Lightflows settings to make sure that you have that checked? Also that may only be a option in the paid version of Lightflow. Im not very familiar with it but it should under settings I would think.
Edit:
Just treated it for myself and it works perfectly on the free version. Click on the app in you app drawer, click settings, enable root mode, enable Samsung mode, then set your apps up.
I tested it on a low battery and it wouldn't quit flashing or give me a notification to turn it off like it does with email and other apps so I had to set it to go off after one minute for the low battery warning. I think the only reason it didn't have a pop ip was because the battery was already at 9%. The light stayed on the entire time the screen was on also.

No problem, its a bit annoying when it wouldnt show the notification for the battery so you may have that problem in the future or it may just be cause I tested it with a low battery.
