[Q] Porting Sense 4.0 keyboard - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey, pretty new here so don't know much yet.
My step-dad recently got a new one x and I really like the sense 4 keyboard. I was wondering if i would be able to port it over to my GS2 or would it only work on a sense 4 ROM.
Help appreciated.

How is that phone compared to our?

Sense HD?

Hi
I am only getting this phone because it is the best specification phone I haven't tried the touch Whizzo but HTC make the best software but not phones unfortunately
So I am asking will any1 be able to port sense HD?

Well I've made a Sense theme for CM7, so as soon as the Galaxy S2 gets CM7, which I'm sure will happen fast, you can use the theme on it... far easier than porting a sense rom. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11660869
edit: then again, you still won't have sense app enhancements and stuff, but something is better than nothing right?
why does everyone want this.. the phne is not even out yet.. if you really want sense go buy a htc phone ad quit whinning.
thanks for the theme,
and yeah i do have a htc phone but this samsung galaxy s 2 has the best specs than any htc phone so this phone combined with htc sense will be a beast!
Does any one think this can happen?

Sense is overrated.
Yes you should be able to use HTCs Sence UI because Exynos is using NEON whereas Tegra2 doesnt.
Depends which 1 phones 4 u supplies because there are to versions

Yeah but the widget are amazing

Sense is nearly as bad as TouchWiz. AOSP should be (and will be) the goal.

Meh, I was never too fond of Sense. Using my friend's Inspire for a few minutes though, I found that it was nicer than all of the other stock launchers.
I didn't like not being able to edit the total number of screens though.
I too, am interested in this. It gives people options so why not port Sense over? I want to see whether they can port all those cool features over like flipping their phone over to silence a call or ringing louder in a bag.
What about sense 3.0 the sgs2 with the new sense will be amazing

No please not the disney version of sense.
Don't get me wrong, but those colors on the sensation....brrrr..... welcome to disney.
I would really love to see a Sense port but it will be very hard to port it... the only successful ports are for devices with identical specs - example Sense from Desire on Nexus One...
There was a port for the Galaxy S but it had too much things that don't work and were very hard to solve (as Sense and drivers are not open source)...
Loved sense on windows mobile especially combined with the white GTX theme on my hd2,
but can't say I'm a big fan of it on android. Weird, I know, or maybe not so weird,
since I like a minimal clean look better, not screens cluttered with widgets.
Am tied in between in getting a sensation or sgs2 hardware wise galaxy s 2 wins but HTC sense is far better than touch wiz that's why we need a port

I'd like to see a sense port. However only for the sake of having a bigger variety of roms to flash.
I found that when I had my Inspire that Sense was way to bloated for me. I gave it a fair shot but for now I prefer TW over Sense. But AOSP > Any carrier software.
I would just stick with TouchWiz or go for AOSP if possible. Sense looks cool and all, but a port is as easy as it seems. More so, theming will be the solution for time being.

Actually this is false http://www.xda-developers.com/android/nexus-s-gets-a-desire-s-port-and-sense/

Are there any Sense roms for the SGS2?

I looked through the forums briefly but i was just wondering if anyone has heard of any ports from some of the new sense roms. I got to play with the sensation briefly and was impressed with the new sense. I haven't used sense since waaay back on the original desire so I'm really eager to play with sense.
Who else would like to see sense on there sgs2?

I felt like an idiot after reading that *derpface*
I searched all the xda forums for "Sense" didnt got anything!! :/
Am I searching on the wrong place or anything?
btw thanks!
I saw this!
Yeah,
Last week I swapped my HTC One X for the Galaxy S3 seeing this project as I loved Sense 4! I changed my device because I had lots of hardware problems with my HTC and sent it twice for a refurb!
It looks like they havent done work for this project for a few months, It is still really glitchy so I am stuck with TouchWiz as I don't like ASOP

I really doubt it. So far there isn't a working port of JB 4.1.1/Sense 4+ and doubt there will be anyone will to tackle Sense 5 for the Evo 3D.
ramjet73
Well, it is possible but I can't see that happening. If someone manages to port one s's jellybean rom there will be a possibility we see it on our phones since it has been confirmed sense 5 is coming to one s, too. Never lose hope

[Q] (Q) ColorOS

Can somebody port ColorOS to our DNA?
Here's the link to ColorOS on HTC ONE http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2537754
It is a nice OS very beautiful and best of all it's based on Sense 4.2.2. Winning!!!!!
miui can be based on sense too, and one of our devs is on it

I'm intrigued, what exactly is it? I've never heard of it and the op in that thread wasn't very descriptive.

I could probably get it booting but would have a ton of issues just like a Sense based MIUI I'm trying to work on.

Wow you're a beast man. I think it would be almost fully functional, I reached out to the Dev on the HTC One hopefully he replies. Are you going to try and port it from the HTC One? This Rom is very beautiful and smooth or at least that's how it felt when I had my HTC One. My DNA is S-Off and I can do basic ADB/ Fastboot so if you need any help with basic stuff I can help out. Either way all your work is extremely appreciated. Thanks!!!!!
