[Q] Back automatically to the default home screen - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Is there a settings/app/widget that can bring you back automatically to the default home screen after x minutes of inactivity?
So if you were doing something on another home screen or app, then you put your phone away for x minutes , then when you unlock you are back to your default home screen
Thanks,

try to set from the beginning the option that automatically locks your keypad when your phone becomes idle(settings-key lock)..and the option that turns the backlight off when phone is idle(settings-power-power management).
p.s. I'm not sure about the exact location of the settings since I don't have the phone any more...I'm telling you the location approximately...

[Q] WidgetLocker causes screen to come back on

How do I make WidgetLocker launch without waking the screen? Every time I press power, it turns the screen back on after about 3 seconds, then I can press it again and it stays off. Apparently this is because the Archos firmware (I have UrukDroid 1.0, same either way) turns screen on when _any_ app is launched in the background, unless it's a service.

[Q] Lock screen and pattern together

Seems like the other LTE SGS3 variants have the ability to have the normal lock screen and a pattern or other security lock screen enabled at the same time. On the i9300, if you enable pattern lock screen, the normal lock screen goes away completely. Meaning that when you lock your phone via the power button or have it timeout and you turn in back on before your pattern timeout is reached, there is no lock screen. I know I can select lock instantly with power key but I'd rather have the pattern kick in after about 5 minutes and have the normal lockscreen active before the 5 minutes.
This is native behavior on the AT&T LTE SGS3 but not on the i9300. Any way to get this working in the i9300?
I'm looking for this option also. My old Incredible took me to the swipe lock screen when I hit power to turn off the screen. But I had it set to require a swipe unlock after 10 minutes. Tried playing with the (Verizon) SGS3 settings and no go. They both turn on at the same time - only after my 10 minutes setting elapses. Other than that, the phone wakes (with the power OR home) to apps on the screen waiting to be accidentally launched.

Lock Screen Grace Period

There should be a simple setting that allows setting a time period (say 3 second, 30 seconds, etc.) where if the screen does dark and any button is pressed, the phone is back on Without having to re-enter the PIN.
Who is going to steal the phone during these few seconds?
Its hard to believe that such an advanced phone does not have any grace period on the lock screen. Every time the screen goes dark you have to re-enter you PIN (or other lock) to access it again, even if you press a button 1 second after it goes dark. That is so annoying and old android phones even had this feature. There must have 50000+ times over the last 2 years where I had to re-enter the phone unnecessarily.

I'm pretty sure this exists. In Settings >> Lock Screen, there's a menu called Lock Automatically which allows you to change the length of the grace period.

Android Pie problem with 2nd user on Tab S3

Hi, I noticed that when I log into the S3 everything is fine but when I log into it as the 2nd user the screen goes blank right away. I have to press the power button to get it back and even then as soon as I enter the key code, a black screen comes up and then a moment later the normal screen appears.
Something similar happens when I turn on the S3 and simply pull down the screen to change user right away.
Is there any way to fix this?
