Try of you can get in download mode (volume down + power button + menu button). If so reflash the rom you need with Odin 1.85.

If that and a jig doesn`t work i guess you have to take it to a repair centre .

You can try to pull the battery for half an hour or so and try again, sometimes that helps.

what happens if you plug it in to a charger or something?

It's very strange that your phone wouldn't turn on just because you were transferring pictures... it goes against common sense.

I'm in the same situation dude.
Don't turn power on, no reaction with USB Jig, no reaction to battery charger, no reaction to power+voldown+home and power+volup+home either....
This happens after try to wipe data-cache... stuck there... and then the sgs2 dead
I try everything here... and nothing happes... even a single pixel on

fix

but you need a riff box
i know you dont have one but you never know,
how much is your device worth to you, and if might have a friend who owns

I think I have a TRUE hard brick.

I can't even turn it on, nothing. No combos would do anything
ODIN was stuck for like half an hour to an hour, so i had to do a battery pull, now it won't even turn on, nothing, nada.
Anybody have had this happen before?
Did The Battery Die?
Even If You Do A Battery Pull On ODIN
Nothing Will Happen You'd Be Able To ODIN Back

While I'm not 100% sure that this wouldn't cause a brick. I know that I've pulled my battery out during an odin flash with out bricking. Plug in the charger just to make sure.

You might try to get into download like this
1. remove batt.
2.plug usb into computer
3.put batt. in
4.hold volume down+up
5. plug usb into phone.
Then try Odin again
If that doesn't work you might try building a jig:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=819551
Good luck!
If all else fails, there's always the homemade jig method. I haven't tried it but lots have had success.
EDIT: beat me to it dave. Good post

Its a true brick if you cant get in download mode or turn it on. The jig is for people that flashed wrong firmware or pulled battery out in odin and dont have working 3 button combo but the phone does turn on. I have tried a working jig with captivate that wont turn on and no working 3 button combos and had no luck. I have bricked a few captivates with ULF kernel and bad flash's. I do not use ULF kernels any more. Did you have ULF kernel loaded before you flashed?

Not true. My phone couldn't turn on at all. The screen remained black even when plugged into usb or a charger. Removing/replacing the battery did nothing. I plugged into usb, pulled battery, and held the volume buttons while inserting the battery, BAM dl mode.

I said if download mode does not work. If you try every way to get into download mode and it does not work or turn on then you have a true brick.
Same...
I've got the same problem. The jig method won't work...it says it right in the guide. Did you get anything to work?
I'm still not convinced this is possible without actual physical damage being inflicted through faulty charger/usb cable, shock, water, or otherwise... A rogue battery pull sounds a bit far fetched to cause this kind of damage, but you never know...
Download mode is likely the answer you're looking for. Figure out a way into it.

This is 100% possible to have a hard brick. Nothing but JTAG can revive the phone in this condition. I have the ability to bring a hard bricked phone back from the dead as well as a phone in any bricked state where a JIG won't work. Just pm me if you need help...

what happened was.... i went from darky v 9.5 to cm7. didnt like cm7 so nand restore back to darky. brick. tried to odinback to stock. stalled. removed battery tried again. stalled. held down power button with no battery in (standard hardware power cycle) now i get absolutley nothing. no power, no chargining indicator. nothing. i think ive no choice but to use my phone insurance and report it stolen. (i cant use warranty to tmobile since i have an ffc by the amazing connexion) so if anyone else has suggestions, speak now before i make the call. (will wait 1 day. cant be without my phone.)

RED brick?

Quick question guys, i was flashing the Linda voice on my vibrant, when all of a sudden it went to a blank red screen. did a battery pull but now its dead. it wont charge, wont go into download or recovery, odin doesnt work, nothing. Advice?
Press and hold power, then press Volume Up. You'll get red text. Plug your USB cable into your computer, then into your phone. Press and hold Volume up + Volume Down + Power until it reboots. Depress Power, it will reboot to Download mode. Flash away.

i tried this, along with trying a jig too. nothing appears whatsoever. just black screen.
button presses? u mean other than vol up down and power?
Connect usb+vup+vdown, then put battery in
Here try this...
Make sure you have ODIN OPEN with admin privileges!
1.) Take off your back cover, remove your sim & mirco sd card.
2.) Remove your battery.
Make sure you have the USB plugged into your PC but NOT your phone!
3.) Hold the volume buttons.
4.) Put the battery in.
5.) Put the USB in.
You don't necessarily need the download mode image to be present. As long as you are getting the COM ID to light up yellow in ODIN, just flash back to stock like normal.
Tell me if this works for you!
N00B_IN_N33D THANK U! that worked, kinda. It got me into yellow download mode on my phone,(which is the 1st time screen has been back) but odin wont recognize it, so idk how 2 reflash to stock now without it

This is why i love XDA, ive been phoneless for a week but its all good now Thanks guys

Phone entirely bricked. Won't turn on, won't charge, nothing.

I was taking a video, and finished it, when suddenly the phone froze up and turned off. I've been using MIUI, and while it's mostly pretty stable, reboots and crashes happen, so I just rolled my eyes. But since then it's been completely dead. I couldn't turn it on, even after taking the battery out several times, can't put it into recovery or download modes, and it's been connected to the charger for about ten minutes now and still nothing.
I haven't flashed anything for ages, haven't done anything odd with the phone at all, I have no idea what could have provoked this. Please help, I can't imagine what I'd do if my phone was permanently dead.
Samsung Galaxy SII with MIUI weekly ROM (currently 2.4.27)
Things I have tried:
Long press power button to turn it on (obviously)
Same thing after taking the battery out for ages
Press Vol up + Home + Power to put it into recovery
Press Vol down + Home + Power to put it into download
Plug it into charge
Plug in data cable connected to computer
Take out battery for a while, then replace, plug data cable into computer (but not phone), hold volume buttons while plugging in phone (internet guy told me to)
Everything above shows absolutely nothing on screen. Charging heats it up a little.

Just another try:
Maybe only the screen is "defect".
Boot into download mode - even if the screen keeps black.
And connect the phone via USB cable to your PC.
If the PC recognizes the phone, you could try to flash another ROM (with Odin).
If not ... is your phone still on warranty?!
Good luck !

Nope. Not a bad idea though. I wondered if the screen was broken, but then there should be vibrate and boot audio when it boots up.
Take the battery out dude, leave it out for 3 mins, then put it back in, then try accessing download mode (vol down + home + power)

Same issue.
Sorry for the thread resurrection, but I have the exact same problem as the OP. Only I wasn't even using my phone when it died it was just sitting on the side.
The 'back story':
My phone died whilst doing absolutely nothing. I tried plugging it in to charge and it came up with theimage I've attached below, and it just flashes on and off the screen at random intervals.
I tried recovery - nothing.
I tried D/L mode - worked once but got the 'battery too low - cannot download' error and it hasn't worked since.
Tried 2 different batteries - nothing.
Removed the battery for 10 minutes and retried - nothing.
Removed the battery while keeping the phone connected to the charger - nothing.
Connected phone to PC with original cable - nothing.
The top of the phone also gets hot when trying to charge.
Cannot attach the image yet as I can't post outside links...
But the symbol is the greyed out battery with the 'loading' ring.

Do you even have an I9100 ?
All you need is a USB jig which will force your phone to enter into download mode. USB jigs are small devices which are very helpfull if something goes wrong while flashing. You can buy a USB jig directly from ebay, it is for about 4$ - 5$ or you can make one home yourself. It's not very hard.
Check out this link to make your own USB jig.

Galaxy S2 died

I have read the similar threads, unfortunately they do not seem to help.
Relevant information:
ROM: Cyanogenmod 9 2nd June 2012 Nightly
Kernel: Siyah 3.2.8
What happened: I was playing Rage of Bahamut (a game, nothing too intensive) when my screen appeared to dim and get stuck on the current image. I could press the home button and the screen will turn off, pressing home button 4 times triggered the inverted colors mode but I could not get to the homescreen itself, so I turned off the phone. When I tried to turn it on again it won't turn on.
What I tried:
Swapping out with a full battery - Doesn't work
Booting with USB Jig - Doesn't work
Plugging in to PC to see if USB is recognized - Doesn't work
Trying Recovery and Download key combinations - Doesn't work
I'm utterly at a loss as my phone appeared to be working fine, and from what I read the SGS2 is unbrickable. However I have been reading on the Siyah thread that 3.2.8 has a lot of issues and I really hope that I'm not experiencing another hard brick like what happened with Siyah 3.2.1RC6 (IIRC).
Thanks for reading! Hope someone has a suggestion.
Note: Interestingly, when I plug in the charging cable after a while the back of the phone gets warm; However still nothing happens when I attempt to turn it on. No response, no vibration, no soft key lights no nothing.
Service center (JTAG repairer might well say unfixable). No signs of life, no download mode, no jig. Dead phone.

I was kinda resigned to that. Just hoping one of you guys might have an obscure method to bring the phone back to life.
Thanks for your kind reply!
U cant turn the phone on, your pc doesnt recognize it, you cant go into recovery or download mode, you cant use USB jig. Oh boy, you're in deep trouble. Maybe the charge of the phone might be finished? U sure the other battery you placed was fully charged? I have never seen someone whose phone doesn't turn on at all, and even the pc doesnt recognize!

Dude, i dont even think this is a problem related to the software. I think its probably the hardware. Maybe the battery case has some defect? You should go see an expert for this.

Indeed I suspect it's hardware also. The strange thing is, I took the battery out to charge it in an external charger, and left the phone battery-less while I slept. When I woke up, I put the battery in and tried to turn on the phone. No luck. Strange thing was that after a while the phone felt warm.

I think my X10 is bricked?

Ok so i've had this phone for a long time.. around 2 years i think.. Anyway today the phone just turned off by itself.. i tried turning it back on but it flashes the green light once and then vibrates when i press the power button but after that i get no response.. The screen does not turn on.. and the phone just doesnt respond.. Then i have to take out the battery and try to power my phone again but get the same response.. green light blink and then a vibrate but after that its dead..
Is my phone bricked? i didnt install anything new so i dont know how it just became dead itself.. secondly i've tried repairing the phone through Sony's update service and PC Companion and it gives me an error when it starts to install the software on the phone
Any solution?

you can try it or try to hardreset so ",my english is not good" you can try to turn on mobile for a 20 second on the power buton than remove battery ,conect usb cable with device, hold back buton and while this insert battery
Since your phone vibrates and blink's the LED light, I believe it's still alive.

I'll try to break down parkci's method:
1. Remove back cover
2. Press and hold the power button for 20 second
3. Remove battery (while holding the power button)
4. Conect usb cable between PC and device
5. While holding down the back button insert battery
This may hopefully either hard reset or put it into flashmode....
Supposedly another way to hard reset:
:
Press both LEFT and RIGHT buttons on the front and POWER ON...
Good luck...
