Does anybody know when ICS for HTC EVO 3D GSM will be released?
It is supposed to be in a couple days. Make sure you keep an eye out in your settings and because it won't automatically push the update... prob a good idea to check every hour or so until it's released. Like I said tho, few days.
I heard if you keep sending HTC email's and posting on their facebook and twitter with your email, Phone number and your phones serial number they will push it out to your phone.
A buddy of mine did it. He said it took a few days of constant emails and facebook, twitter post to get it.
He said he sent one almost every hour until they got tired of him and pushed it out to him.
The lucky bastard he didn't even save it to give me a copy he just installed it now he shows it off to me always saying look what I have on my phone and you dont. Sometimes I want to punch him. lol
I would do it but I don't have the time or patience to do it.
Give it a shot and let us know.
Also if and when they give it to you dont install it make a copy of it and share with us.

lol, if that's true, make a backup of his system and boot partition (not a full nandroid) and restore it to yours....
Send flowers to HTC and with your phone´s IMEI and youll get it....took me about 1000roses and some chocolate for the lady on the telephone and some beer for gate keeper but i have my ICS now! Yeah and pray to the Elders of Smartphones and Allmighty Android....

I sent engadget an email to post an article talking about everything we are trying to do and everything htc is doing with the bootloader. I will continue to email other sites but would be awesome if other people could possibly be doing this as well. Please. That was just a nice way of saying "shut the hell up". HTC will do as they please (Thunderbolt, Sensation, EVO 3D). It's a shame and I hope they realize their mistake when they see sales figures while I enjoy my Galaxy S2. I am sure there will be TONS of support for it considering how few developers will be messing with the EVO 3D.

Until its released and confirmed to be unlocked, dont trust them or give in. As they are just trying to silence us to keep the majority of users from knowing about the bad press the phone is getting now.

I heard there is an app that you can select contacts that you do not want to text when your'e drunk. Then when you try to text them you have to solve a mathematical question or some kind of question...
I found the title for it for iphone a while ago (forgot now), but I want the android version for it.
Anybody knows the title for it?

If you're rooted, use CyanogenMod 7...it has "Phone Goggles" which restricts outgoing text messages and calls after a certain time and yeah you need some complicated stuff to prove you're sober before you can call and stuff.

Then you clearly did not go out when you were in college in a city with 40000 students going out. (And even outside that, how hard is it to imagine texting people in what bar they are, or to imagine texting a person you like/hate faster when you drank a couple?)

Hmmm........
Not too long ago I had a drunken brainwave on how to fix something which involved wiping something from mounts and storage in recovery, I knew I should have waited till morning but I felt invincible.
Ended up formatting my sd so Yeh it does happen its just a good job I know what I'm doing when sober, all the important stuff is always backed up contacts music photos etc, took me about 3 hours to get if back up to scratch.

wow seriously now, only xda memberships know about android offers? funny mod! and since you are such a smartass, 1: the ban counts for the email address not for the whole ip address. 2: there is no 100% guarantee the same ip address is being used by the same person, maybe multiple users using same computer 3: I can always use a software to change my ip address and you my dear moderator can do nothing is just an xda membership, there are more important things in life so stop acting like I am going to miss a lot even if you extend the ban p.s I have 2 other memberships, wanna bet you can't find them "mister love2bprivatedetector.com"?

So we all know who he is, and yes he is a troll with nothing better to do (obviously has no life outside of xda), but he did have a point and his remark did actually help this time (believe it or not). I did not know about the upload limit, and although Feline11 was trying to be a troll, he actually helped.
I know Binary and Whisky know how I feel about Feline11, and I still say ban his IP address and subsequent IPs that will certainly follow. Anyone that will create multiple email accounts just to troll forums has serious mental issues that should seek professional attention asap... Especially at his young age.

I don't care if he helped. He's been a member for a long time and he went very far out of his way to make us think that he was a new member. He even asked a very noobish question something of the lines of "If I take the sdcard out of my phone will it break recovery?" and we both know that he knows better than that. We need honest members that intend to help eachother. Not members that are going to deceive others and turn against them like a stray dog. He was given a punishment for his action and he should be mature enough to face it and not to go around it. We don't just ban people just because we feel like it because if that was the case we would have totally different forum with totallly different moderators. We try to be fair to the members at all times. Is it too much to ask that we get treated with the respect that we deserve rather than trying to insult our intelligence? His ip address was banned and barred from registration as well as his e-mail addresses but I have a gut feeling that we'll be seeing him again. But the good thing is that we have other means to detect those type of accounts other than ip addresses and all we need to do is look. And to look all we need to do is suspect that something isn't right. Obviously in this case something didn't fit right with me and that's why I took a closer look thus unveiling his real identity. He may not have been trolling but it would have only been a matter of time until he did. Remember that the problem isn't his username, it's his attitude and that is nearly impossible for him to change otherwise he would have done so by now.

That kind of suspicious behavior or an unusual post like what popped up earlier when it drew my suspicion is what causes us to have a closer look. It's really easy for us to look for duplicate accounts. Now it IS possible that a new account can be opened up with another members previously used ip address but even in that situation is pretty rare. But what's even more rare is when he's banned on the 21st and a new account is opened on the 23rd and both members post in the same forum. I think the odds of that happening would be like being attacked by a great white shark on a Detroit metro bus that's actually running on time. Neither will ever happen and for both to happen at the same time... there's just no way. Yet he's surprised that I caught it? Naive little fool.

Wasn't trying to defend him... Believe me. I took my only infraction ever over his trolling and went many rounds with him the other night when he was banned. I'm glad he's gone and appreciate the Mods like Binary and Whisky for keeping this thread clean.

Without a desktop sync software I find box really useless so I prefer to use the 5GB dropbox instead. If Box could get with the times I would use it but I guess no money in it for them to offer it free.

Closing the tread now per OP request.
I pre ordered on the website may7th around 9:34am. I've gotten 2 emails the last of which was an email stating they would be getting the device to me on are before may18th. Much to my surprise I check my status and it says backordered not sure why its back ordered I'll be calling sprint and raising some hell tomorrow that's for sure and see what's going on. Hopefully it doesn't happen to everybody but I think there are going to be some pretty pissed off people come tomorrow. screen capture below. Sprint pre ordering can suck my salty balls lol. I'll be calling other places tomorrow looking for a guarantee for me to pick it up friday sprint has let me down first time I pre ordered a phone from them normally I go to radio shak are bestbuy.

first its my fault i uploaded the damn VIRGIN **** leak....
yet i am paying 8 bucks a month for **** reasons like this even if anyone says its not used for being stupid to root or whatever....
the rant starts with the sprint store. i go in the tech passes me over to the manager who says since i rooted my phone before he will not help me. so i call tech and they said he better look at it. i said no way am i going back to see that ahole again. so they tell me to go to a 3rd party repair store. mind you my phone was working only thing was that it had vm on the banner. the tech tries to fix my phone only to screw up the 3g. so he places an order for a phone. which was on the 8th.
i try to fix my phone until i get the new phone since its on back order. i screw up even more with no calls working. i call sprint and i swear two out of like four told me to root my phone. level two tech said this... haha
yesterday i call the store i want a phone damn it tells me not today sir call tomorrow or even maybe later in the week. WHAT! call sprint told me its going to be another week. i speak to whoever i can they told me the same about it looks like a major back order. this afternoon i call for a update and long and behold the tech says its out for delivery on the ups truck. few hours later the store calls says it will be in tomorrow... wait who is right here? call andriod tech he says 5 more days. huh i say send me to level two tech which he did. the new tech not only tells me its coming today but gave me a tracking number.
sprint get your **** together and have one open system. also let us live and root your own techs advice is to do it.

not at all. one they need to have a clear message across the board. do they or they do not fix rooted phones. i have seen leaked memos that tell them they should. leave that bit on the side. my rant is not the back order nor the techs. my problem is the systems they use. cs runs on a different system can not even see if there are orders for a phone. andriod tech sees an order can not get any more info. level one tech same and tells me its not shipped while level two tech said it was. level two tech can tell me when its being shipped.. how by get this... they chat with the warehouse. well wait why can it all not be connected. one system!
also when a level two tech says trying rooting your phone what should be said? nothing about warranty was said too.
Should've not mentioned root and said one day you woke up with VM and 3G was slower...
I mean, it's true. You don't have to tell them you rooted. And the day after flashing VM firmware, you technically did wake up with VM. The VM makes 3G slower so yeah..

well they replaced it anyways. just got the phone it has about 58 mins of talk time and was actived on 4/2/12 almost brand new lol.... now time to root and install vm again haha no. should i flash ics or not is the question. i am sure staying about from frameware for now.

Sprint's stance is this:
Do whatever you want to your phone. If [Sprint] sees that you bricked it [or any features therein] by:
*using unsigned anything,
*and you cannot restore its functionality by restoring its original firmware(s).
*or are unable to restore original firmware(s) due to lockout of writing to said bricked phone/feature,
[Sprint] will not see fit to service this device or its feature(s).

Flashing only the ROMs works fine.
Dont flash the firmware on the new 3D.

Yeah. I completely get you, although many people.here hate on you since, HTC is delaying ics, or whatever else. Well some of the people in sprint claim they can't fix your phone because your root, even if its something like, "Flash isn't working" , its an external problem, maybe the light there went off or its broken. Then you talk to another guy. And he tells you , 'Root your phone' NO DUH! Seems like rooting your phone is way cheaper and faster than talking to a dumb sprint tech that has no idea of what he's saying.

It's the internet not a writing essay , if you were to flame everyone on the internet for punctuation you'd be flaming at everyone. People use things like Lolz , wtf, hai, bai, likez, you know, different spelling and extra letters in the end of every word, we don't come to the internet to be Mr Perfect in grammar, I come here to get away from it without having to face Grammar Nazis.
If he were writing a formal letter punctuation that isn't correct looks horrible, but ITS just a post. Nothing much nothing more.

Funny thing is I am a teacher. I need a break from it all. Then again I also have a degree in computers. I know what needs to be said and done. Also its not like my posts come from my desktop. It's different on a phone. Live and let live, and worrying on a forum means you need a life.

You know I been coming to site since the wm oops windows mobile days. It's become a place like MySpace was. When before it was post a problem and you will get a reply for help. Now everyone replies with nonsense or even changes the topic. If you disagree then like my mom said keep your mouth shut.
Look at what happened to MySpace. People got sick of the bull**** in the forums.
