Soundenhancement.apk is the sony equalizer in the music app
I just tried beast audio with my koss portanpro, too much bass, stock sound of xps much clearer and better.

Tried so sound effect tweak. I just wasted my time. In my personal opinion Poweramp is undoubtly the best player in the market. Removed my stock player, sound enhancement. Very happy with Poweramp.

The internal memory is named sd card in the file system on the Phone

I can still use Xperia S equalize, only problem is I can't change the volume..
I edited the Stock eq, and I really like the sound, but I want ti adjust the volume which doesn't work with the volume up and volume down buttons :s
@all i suggest you to use n7player from market it is really the best one with beats audio! Even if power amp is good too

The more options the better yes? In fact the more mods, the better our XPS will become.
I like the extra bass in beats for some songs.

when i activate the bass on the equalizer, my bass goes away, no matter if 0% or 100%, there is no bass, if i turn it off, i get lots of bass....
This mod does not seem to work for me. Sound loses alot of volume cause the bass turns too deep and when i turn the volume up doesnt help at all.
is there a way to uninstall this mod ? or do i need to reflash my rom ?

This is SRS from SRS Labs for our Lovely X8
This is The only Mod that really activate SRS effect on your devices. Yes, there are alot of duplicated thread along xda forum here. But today let us not go through that topic.
After install this mod, you will experience:
Surround effect(For Stereo speaker, (headphone, bt, portable & etc...) )
The sound becoming detailed(Dynamic Sample rate increased, You'll feel your music becoming more details now!)
Background sound is heard clearly(Clarity)
Volume Gain! (Please be careful with your speaker sound. As it is set to global changes in your sound volume. You should lower it to 2 level from the normal volume to achives normal speaker loudness. This Volume Gain is designed for some geeks that find it useful.)
TAKE NOTES THAT:
WILL Work on most Gingerbread Rom's out there, If it is built properly.
NO ICS SUPPORT. (Don't Disrespect Paul-xxx)
DSP, Volume+ app and other application that use/depends on libcyanogen-dsp.so will stop functioning as you flashed this mod. So remove them before flashing to avoid annoying Force closes on them....
This is tested on Fde (Gingerbread) rom without any problems, although it support many rom outside there, expect some problem when flashing this mod. (You have been warned.)

Take Note This Mod will:
Remove any /system/lib/soundfx files and install the SRS into it.
So, your all previous sound enchantments are removed! (To prevent lib conflicts)
For undo/remove this modification, You have two choices
Restore your rom backup easy right?
Reinstall your whole rom without full-wiping.

Weird bug on cwm installation (The mod will not installed, no effect to your device. If that happen, check whether the file inside the zip archive is exist on your phone, if not, you'll need to manually copy & paste & set permission)

Yes you can use the mod without dsp, it is provided to whom might liking toward dsp too much

i tested on the player that i mentioned above, others i don't know...

I tried in my phone(SDE rom). And I dont see any change in sound, instead I find the sound more less n dim. Sorry...not working I guess.

I also installed it but the sound is very low and couldn't find any great change. I think DSP manger gives good sound and the bass is good. I think its not working in my phone.

I installed and tested on poweramp, but the sound doesnt changed. But it definately lowered my system volume.
Sorry for the inconvenience, there is second post where you can apply an temporary fix for the low volume, im not free now so please bear with next update or using an earphone would help

So what about the srs dependent config, jar files present in system>etc/framework/lib and so on...what i think those dependencies also conflict with other sound properties, what if we remove all the crapwares related to srs other then beats, dolby, zwalkman dependencies....?

here is the XSIncredibleBass without any possible srs dependable, just installed on my phone everything works except video cam...
I Edited this to work with our ported walkman player as srs is incompatible with the walkman player...

Hello everyone. I was going through this thread and found this post.
Therein lies the solution for those who can't record video with the stock camera app.:laugh:
Just remove mediaprofiles.xml(I don't know how bad it will affect the mod itself) from the zip before flashing this mod or people who already flashed this mod can replace the mediaprofiles.xml in system/etc directory with their stock mediaprofiles.xml.
I tested this on my XMP with stock rom and stock camera app and I could record a video and save it. I haven't done intensive testing. But it worked with the one video that I took after flashing this mod.

Note to poweramp users, you'll need to up your EQ if the volume is "not working".
Disable EQ and you'll get a vol boost (with the EQ effects), so increasing would compensate for it(naturally).

Just turn off all equalizers in your music/media app, play a song and at the same time play with the settings in the app. Some things might not work though because the libs caused mediaserver crashes for our device. I love the Psychoacoustic sound though, try that!

Yeah, and also need to disable DVC in PowerAMP. Basically any app that has it's on post-processing needs to be disabled for the native effects to do anything.
Can anyone confirm whether 'Automatic Volume Limiter System (AVLS) and 'Volume Enhancement Engine (VE-Engine)' are working for Build-In Audio Monitor (headsets) ?

Tried with other more stock-y media players. AVLS works but disables the it's own Digital Preset's EQ.
VE-E can't hear any difference.
VSUR attenuates some middle-to-high frequencies on the mid-side area without any stereo expansion. Kinda counterintuitive but whatever.
Anyway, I'm feeling lazy -
I hope others find more use for this especially for gaming/watching videos/ebook. Good luck discovering those tiny bits and please share them.

I don't think so, I tried to switch them on and off many times and noticed no difference.
anybody used this on FXP 152 CM10 based rom?...
This is great, very noticeable increase in volume. Would you mind if I include this with slimbean?

Go for it some users experiencing issues with Turbo UI however I think that's the ROM.

CyanogenMod DSP Manager does not work with any of these mods (SRS, BeatsBass, xLOUD).
Kk. If you listen to dubstep then put on your headphones, set large level of psychoacustics and play skrillex equinox best bass I've ever got from my good old koss porta pro.

Just some info -
I am aware that the xLOUD service is unreliable. It is not engaged as soon as the AudioFlinger wakes up, so incoming calls and such usually won't be xLOUD-enabled. But I will say that I'm looking into a possible solution - to remove the xLOUD "Audio Effect service" and merge the code directly in with the media framework. The downside to this is that the ROM will need to be built from source for this - I'm sure wedgess and cj360 can make the change but FXP will probably not care.

Used this to replace cm10s low audio. I must say your the best. I notice a significant difference in the audio after a bit of tweaking on the eq. Thank you.

I was the one who reported. Version 5 was working on both Galaxy Y and Ace (GINGERBREAD) PERFECTLY !!!
Haven't tried Version 7 though

i think the v5 is only working for ICS+

V5 - Only Walkman APP is for ICS. Rest is compatible with Gingerbread.
DIFFERENCE :-
Try reflashing stock rom. Listen to your fav. song . (Maybe something like Dubstep , EDM , House , Drum n Bass)(Has more effect, will be easy to notice changes). (on stock Touchwiz Player/set equalizer to wide/rock)
Now flash Acid v5 (on rooted phone)
Again play the same song on your stock Touchwiz PLayer
FEEL THE DIFFERENCE !!!!!
What I felt was -
Deeper Bass
Balanced Treble
Clearer Sound
Little Louder

§1 YOU MUST BE ON ICS OR FURTHER (JB,...), Remove ALL Third app equaliser (DSP Manager, Market EQ app,...)

FAQ / Tips
Q : How can set default music effects ?
A : in CM go to settings -> sound -> music effects and change it to fav dsp but if not find it in sound settings, is mean the Awesome Audio Enhancer is default DSP
Q : i change DSP settings and not get any changes on sound
A : go to Awesome Audio and enable your settings , remove any other EQ like nooz default DSP from Gapps , its will making incompatible issue
Q: i'm on PA rom , after install sound not works or have scratching
A: made a Wipe Cache/Dalvik Cache and Fix Permission after Flashing and reboot

testing it right now on my TD Rom
edit: ok, completely doesnt work on TD Rom, no changes in sound with or without earphones
Well so far, both head phones and speakers sound better than stock AOSP. AOSP has sound issues to begin with though. Not quite sure how it measures against stock sense with Beats.
Wow! This is significantly better. Great work. I can tell you put a lot of work into this great job. Only downside is I'll have to flash with nighlies. Works great on CM though.

The AOSP ROMs have a bug where any sort of volume drop in media will cause the volume on the phone to drop for about a second, and it's annoying as hell. Does anyone know if this kernel fixed that issue?

aehm... u saw my post above yours ??? shouldnt there be in music section "beats" instead of dsp ?? Now it doesent open anything Also if i open DSP manager now (aka AWESOME BEATS) enable everything and set EQ different it doesent sounds different then before
