[Q] Xperia S source (not system) - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hi
I have a question.
I would like to use the awesome Xperia S weather widget on another API levels . Even on 15, or even on 10. I am planning to recompile to another android versions.
We have the Xperia S source, but that is a system source, not the source of the applications, widgets.
Can someone post where to find? Maybe on EMMA?
thanx a lot, sincerely

There is no such thing, even on Emma. Sony keeps their modifications proprietary:

Only in stock based, not AOSP.

OK so I'm pretty new to the whole Android thing, but can't you just use the widget's packages that come with the stock FW on a custom ROM, like precompiled binaries on any other Linux?

No. In linux terms it's like linking a dynamic library that doesn't exist.

(Request) 3.X.X linux kernel for Xperia play

http://kernel.org/
I've been using the 3.0 kernel for my kindle fire and its been really smooth and at least 3 times faster than the old 2.6 kernel and it even fixed the hardware decoding so I was thinking that it would be awesome on the Xperia play. If ur interested in building ask Hashcode for help he ported it for the kindle fire.
Thank you, Jeff

I don't think any 2011 line will get the 3.0 kernel.
Why? Its 2012 now, and we are on .32, which is way outdated. Updating would be a huge task.
Iirc .35 kernel was ported once but it didn't boot...
CyanogenMod 9 Xperia Play
FreeXperia Project
Nothing wrong with throwing at stone at trying it?

No, it would be wasted time in development while we could do more productive things ie: upgrade rotator, mdp, vidc, bcm4329 in our current kernel to ones in .35 kernel
CyanogenMod 9 Xperia Play
FreeXperia Project
Hmm. Now that sounds like more fun!

I truly hope for breakthroughs such as this since our wondrous device is no longer in the limelight with Sony Mobile turning their backs on us.
Off-topic sort of: I think that since I now have a workable MacBook (w/ OS X 10.7.4) at my disposal, I will start looking into compiling my own kernel for all Play variants. It's been a long time coming but I feel I really need to give back to the community here (& give you workhorses a break in the mix).

It isn't a huge task it is not a coincidence that e.g the Nexus S Works properly with ICS and has had suitable kernel upgrades.
Everything else will need hacking about with the way that tasks are killed.

Nexus S -> Google device -> Google maintain software/kernel -> always updated.
Xperia Play -> Sony Mobile device -> Sony maintain kernel -> not always updated.

some developers are already working months!! on this kernel.
they can't get it booting yet.
i dont know why sony is so lazy.most of xperia 2012 devices come with 2.3.7 with 2.6.32.x kernel and when they updated to ics their kernel also updated to new kernel 3.0.8+.
but xperia 2011 ics update does not apply kernel update.when kernel does not fit with hardware if you use best rom you again have problems and bugs with phone.
they can do it for xperia 2011 device as a same thing were does for xperia 2012 devices.
sry for bad english.:good:

[Q]AOSP ICS camera for Mini/MiniPro/LwW

Does anyone have AOSP Camera for Mini/MiniPro/LwW?
Want it for my AOSP apps collection
Wouldn't it be easier to keep a system dump on your PC? Well, I'm attaching SemcCameraUI.apk...
Do you need any more apps? I've made a system dump of the SK17 (587 build number)

[REQUEST] Pure ICS Settings

Hey, I am a noob. Could somebody tell me how to get the pure Android 4.0 settings on my Xperia U.
Or simply the settings in CM9. Is it as simple as I replace the APK from the FXP's or something but I
really like the pure android settings. Please help. I have uploaded a pic for reference..
thanks
I dont think that a simple copy-paste would be enough for that but nothing wrong with giving it a try (Although chances are a bit slim ) Odds are you'll need to edit Settings.apk after decompiling and make alot of edits to get it to aosp style
try tentone's Clean ICS rom
I've Made a Rom that has this stock settings.
But its for Xperia p and I currently can't change the switches
Gesendet von meinem Xperia P mit Tapatalk 2
It's not that easy it will not work
can't we port any AOSP settings, call screen, contacts, etc.?
I did it. Aosp settings successfully installed

Mind telling everyone how you managed it ? A bit curious myself
Anyway, Congrats on the lucky break
Y not just install cm9?

CM9 is still not 100% ready. And I kinda like the Xperia UI so Ill stick with this for a while I just want to how he got the AOSP Settings working
I was browsing through the themes and apps section and found a while dedicated thread to aosp clean framework. I don't remember the OP but I have the flashable zip. I'm on Mobile now. Will find the thread and link it tomorrow.....
You can search for it too. It was called 'aosp framework'
I remember its title has these words' works on Xperia u, p with caveat'

Miner you can give me your email and I can send it to toy right away, and I'll upload it tomorrow on xda......... I can't find the dang thread now

use MiUi ROMs, those are looks like iphone(UI)
Apart from using MIUI (which is awesome)
You can also download iphone themes for aokp/cm/AOSP/pa
By ronak.super
Joy OS has iOS style, but you need an unlocked bootloader for its kernel! It's based on cyanogenmod 7 (Android 2.3)
What about for locked bootloaders?
Sent from my SK17 using xda premium
Trust me use Miui for locked bootloader n select themes like iphone(ui almost like iphone), n if u know chinese then it will be superb to use(voice assist= siri)(xiaomi account= icloud), only apple logo missing in hardware
Sent from my WT19i using xda app-developers app
It impossible because iOS is locked source and Android is Open source.
But MIUI is really really good ROM.
Try my friend ExPeacer ROM called ExMIUI.
Cheers!

Dumb questions:
Do custom ROMs also get the update OTA? If so, what it's like? You just open Play and get a notification like 'sup, we've changed the looks' ?

Looks nice & love the feature removing apps from my apps
