[SOLVED][Q] V8 Supercharger problem - Hero, G2 Touch Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

This is the first time I try V8 Supercharger. I ran the script busybox_v1.19.4_wraithdu--boot_reinstaller_script_v3--installs_every_boot as root in Script Manager and then I rebooted the phone. After that I ran V8_SuperCharger_Alpha_Milestone_Special.sh as root, selected option 6. Balanced 3 Settings {6,8,26,28,30,32 mb} , then option 19 to exit and then i rebooted the phone. After the boot I went into Script Manager, ran the V8 Supercharger script as Root again, and the result is not the one I wanted. The script confirms Launcher is hard to kill but the minfrees values are the current rom's default {6 8 16 36 40 40 mb} and not the wanted {6,8,26,28,30,32 mb}. The settings just don't stick. I've tried to Unsupercharge and reboot the phone then run the script again but I get the same results. I am using Elelinux-7.2-Hero-v3.7. What can I do to make them stick? Am I doing something wrong?

Well, before supercharger it, you have to take a look into /etc/init.d to see what scripts elelinux included in his rom (a2sd, cache2cache, mountext - do not touch these) and if you find some scripts like these: loopy_smoothness_tweak, speedy_modified, clean_ram, 99supercharger, edt_tweaks or anything that hasn't to do with a2sd, cache, mountext, you should delete those, reboot your phone and then try to super charge it. I suggest install busybox installer and choose to install a busybox v 1.8.1 because if you have higher, the script will probably create problems.
Cheers!

From /etc/init.d/ I removed the script for busybox reinstaller 1.19.4 (forgot the name) and the 99supercharger. I've installed busybox 1.18.1, reboot and tried to unsupercharge, reboot, supercharge again with Balance 3, reboot, but the memfreeze values are not changing. The only ones remaining in /etc/init.d/ are 00banner , 01sysctl, 03firstboot , 04modules , 05mountsd , 06mountdl , 10apps2sd , 12compcache , 20userinit . Which are safe to delete?
Edit: I've sent you a PM
Edit2: I installed busybox 1.18.1 again and after that the script worked as it should and the memfreeze values sticked . I think busybox 1.18.1 didn't work the first time.
Thank you !

Leave it as it is because those are script that makes some things in the rom to work. I see you have included 99supercharger script in the zip, you made the zip after you supercharged it again? if so, the script is applying correctly and the values are these:
echo 0,2,4,7,14,15 > /sys/module/lowmemorykiller/parameters/adj;
echo 1536,2048,6656,7168,7680,8192 >
if you want I can provide you a script to push it in /etc/init.d to change those values but you have to unsupercharge first (and not use it anymore)...
View attachment 06ramconfig.rar
you can push it with a file manager and reboot the phone. push it without archive ofc.
oh well... glad it solved out for ya

do you have busybox and superuser installed?
@jimbo77 doesn't work, but I installed now using the manual Installation
Manual Installation:
- Download the apk, rename it to xRecovery-0.2-release.ZIP
- Unpack the file, find ./res/raw folder inside. It should contain 3 files (chargemon, busybox, xrecovery.tar)
- copy these 3 files into /system/bin using root explorer (remember to remount /system rw

well i already have these in my system/bin will it copy over or i mean replace them, and lastly how do i remount /system rw ?
This is a option you can use in the app "Root explorer"
ok im up and running now 2.1-1, rooted using flasher 0.2.5, xRecovery installed, and jit enabled.
it seems the problem for me was busybox was old or something. anyway after installing 2.1-1, rooting, tried to install xRecovery-failed, ( back up your fone just incase) using the free explorer, i deleted busybox then reinstalled latest from app market, went into my apps and since id already tried to install xRecovery it was sitting in there and i pressed it, it installed it, i rebooted, added jit to fone, installed using xRecovery.
now all is good.
hope this might help someone else having trouble.
i had trouble doin all this stuff when i first did root. but i just did i restart and it worked, if u dnt restart after installing busybox and xrecovery and whatnot they dnt normally work, that was just me but urs may be different

[Q] Rebloat?

I'm running rooted NT (Indirect's method) and originally I did the extreme debloat. I want to try out a few of the BN apps - is it possible to "rebloat" by using the ADB Hijack tool followed by rerunning Indirect's script? Would this reinstall the missing apps? Or do I have to totally restore back to 1.40, rerun the script and choose not to debloat?
Just give me few minutes ill upload the System/app folder of the stock 1.4.0 so you can use adb tools with adb hijack together to push the missing applications (bloat) you want. Until then read this so you get familiarized with adb:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20774764&postcount=2
OR
@Loglud: Most easiest way is to take the apps you want and copy them over to a SD card. Then using root explorer or equivilant, navigate to /system/app and press mount as R/W and then copy all of the apps you want into that folder.
Edit: Alright so since you picked option 5:
echo Please select 5 to run the EXTREME debloater (Does all of the above and
echo removes ALL barnes and noble apps from your device
echo so you lose ALL functionality towards B and N but
echo you have a normal android tablet
echo DO NOT ASK FOR SUPPORT WITH THIS OPTION, you will be ignored.)

Click to collapse
This is the list of the applications that were removed in the EXTREME debloater:

Thanks to you both..
For the advice. Yes, I'm certainly familiar with ADB but I normally use Root Explorer to load up system/app. What I am actually trying to do is get the "reading icon" to work on a rooted NT. And use a few other aps besides.
Veronica - thanks especially for the zipped apps.

[REQUEST] Make apk with script

I am a not developer and dont know how to create apk, so i have a request to any developer.
Can make apk with script file, i have ready script file to push in apk
simple apk with one button to run script and progress bar.
SU permission required too.
for future updating of the script that could be replaced only into a script file in the apk
If you can make that simple apk tell me, then i publish the script. Thanx
Can't you just use script manager?
Sent from my LT15a using XDA
yes i can but first must install script with update.zip
next run script with terminal or script manager or adb shell from PC
Apk is universal and simply way to use, and dont require install update.zip before (i think so)
so meybe any dev help me?
What exactly are you looking for? A apk that runs scripts you give to it or just a apk that runs the script your talking about?
If it's just an apk that runs several scripts, the method to get them onto your phone will be the same I.e. You will still need the update.zip or adb push.
If it's just for one script it only takes a few lines of code, take a look on the portal one of the devs published a video on how to create a root app.
Sent from my LT18i using XDA
ok so i add script to attachment
Script make nandroid backup CMW
example of another application:
this is content of example apk

}
i need to put script file in apk archive, example (or another folder in apk)
for future simple edit script without recompiling apk.
but i dont know how to compile this apk.
I'm still struggling with what exactly it is your looking for, if you code an apk yourself theirs more chances of bugs rather then say using a terminal emulator from a developer with a lot of experience. As for the progress bar, you would have to modify the script itself to report the current progress. Unless you want to get into dev then I would suggest you stick with terminal.
Else check this video from Adam, it gives you the basics and he also includes a link to his open source "shell" class.
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/how-to-build-an-android-app-part-2-writing-a-root-app-xda-tv/
The basics would be to get that app up and running yourself, make sure that it runs commands you give it. Then just have your script somewhere like "/sdcard/script.txt" and pass the parameters something like "su -c", "sh /sdcard/script.txt". That way you could always update /sdcard/script.txt and then just run your application.
It's easy to run scripts from in an app. But you need to code it not edit an excisting app
Are you wanting an app to automate cwm backups? ( my cwm autoinstaller does this )
I don't understand what you are after either lol.

[Tool] Init.d with stock Kernel + Busybox Installer

Init.d with stock Kernel + Busybox Installer

As name suggest it's simple tool to enable init.d support without custom kernel. Also this tool have option to install busybox.
What is init.d ?
This is the traditional service management package for Linux, containing the init program (the first process that is run when the kernel has finished initializing¹) as well as some infrastructure to start and stop services and configure them. Specifically, files in /etc/init.d are shell scripts that respond to start, stop, restart, and (when supported) reload commands to manage a particular service.
Requirements :
1. Rooted Note5 (Tested on N5 but should work on other similar Exynos like Edge6, Edge6 plus )
2. Knowledge - why you need to enable init.d. Simple way if you have no idea why you need this, it's not for you.
Installation :
- Download attached InitD enabler N5 1.1 apk and install as regular application.
- Open application from drawer - Grant su
- You can see status of Busybox on main page of app. - Init.d requires to have busybox. (many custom ROM haves busybox included but stock ROM won't have it.). If your device doesn't have busybox then first select to install busybox and reboot.
- Select to enable init.d support and reboot.
Now device should have init.d support. This tool will inject small test script to check init.d is enabled or not.
- Select Test option from application, it will show you status of init.d as floating message. In case status = Working then look for time too, it should match to last boot time of device.
If everything is fine then you can un install application. Also you can delete test script (system/etc/ini.t/ketan) too.
Credits & Thanks : Busybox developer. (If I am not wrong he is Erik Anderson)
tks for share
Thanks for making this, Works great, installs fine and I am able to run my scripts!!! Thanks again Bro
After installing and rebooting when i test it returns %NOTWORKING

If you need init.d then instead use su.d which already activated if you are using systemless root
If you need busybox then look in Note4 development, I have posted busybox for Marshmallow.

[GUIDE] Export Your Kernel Adiutor Settings to init.d Script

Hi, there.
The reason I make this thread is just want to share some tips to export your Kernel Adiutor profile settings to make it as a script running via init.d on your device and also as a backup for reasons. Since I'm having some trouble with Kernel Adiutor such as fail to apply on boot on restart, reseting all of my tweaks for no reason after restart, switching from different ROMs, etc. that really grind my gears.
NOTE : I prefer doing this work on PC and using Notepad++ or other text editor since its more easier.
1. Make sure your device is already have working init.d
2. Open your Kernel Adiutor, make some tweaks and save it as a profile in Hamburger Menu - Profile
3. Go to /data/data/com.grarak.kerneladiutor/files/ and copy profiles.json to somewhere else
4. Open profiles.json in Text Editor and copy all of its contents to clipboard
5. Go to https://www.browserling.com/tools/json-to-text to convert .json to txt, just paste it on the text box provided and click convert!.
6. Copy the text inside the text box and create a new files, paste onto it.
7. From this point we will edit the lines and remove unused lines so pay attention to avoid deleting the useful one
8. As you can see there are lines begins with "command" and "path", delete all the lines that start with the "path".
9. After you done with that, next is ONLY delete the words "command" from all lines. you will see fewer lines of codes after all this step. Then don't forget to save it as file without extension ex. : 69mykernelsettings
10. If you want to make sure you did copy the correct code, just do quick cross-check from Kernel Adiutor - Profile and see Information and compare it to the profile you use with the file we just made.
11. Last step copy your file to /etc/init.d/ , dont forget to give it permissions rwxr-xr-x (0755) or it wont executed on boot.
Here are some screenshot example from my profile :
