[Q] Bluetooth Streaming - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All,
I am purchasing a Lexus IS250 shortly and I have been using a demonstrator version. I have a Galaxy S2 and can link the bluetooth ok for voice calls, etc. However I cant seem to link it for bluetooth music streaming. Does the S2 not have this capability?
I have tried using Checkrom (GB), Cyanogenmod (ICS) and MIUI V4 (ICS) and none seem to have that ability.
Thanks guys for any help!

Well, I am in India and the bluetooth streaming works great in my car.
After I connect my phone to the car, I get an option of "Streaming" in the various sources that I can select from viz., CD, Aux, Tuner, etc..
So, the answer to the question is, it does support streaming. You may want to fiddle a bit with the system on your car to see which option actually detects music streaming.

Check the bluetooth pairing in the phone settings. If you go advanced options (or whatever the menu is) you should see an option for connect to phone and connect to media. My guess is media is unticked.

I've been using ICS MIUI roms .. (used a few now)
Bluetooth works fine with them.
Even check ROM works.
What does'nt work and works only with MIUI roms is AVRCP !!!

[Q] Is the Bluetooth MAP Profile in ICS rom (Stock or Mod)?

Hello Everyone!
I just purchased a Galaxy S2 i9100 to replace my iPhone 4. I must say this is an impressive device, and I have used them all since 2001 (Blackberry pager and converged, Treos, WiMos, etc, etc). My latest phone, an iPhone 4, was purchased to integrate media with my Pioneer radio. However, I have bought a new Ford with the Sync system. The iPhone doesn't quite use all of the functionality that the Ford Sync has to offer (mainly text integration).
My i9100 came with Gingerbread 2.3.4. Texting worked perfectly with the car but not media playback through USB. I have flashed several ROMs in search of that "perfect" one that does everything (USB media playback WITHOUT turning off Bluetooth, Pandora via Bluetooth, text alerts) but can't seem to find it. The latest CM9 comes close but no Bluetooth MAP.
Does anyone know if any of the Ice Cream Sandwich ROMs (stock or mod) include USB mass storage and BT at the same time and the Bluetooth MAP Profile? Thanks in advance for any and all advice, help, thoughts!!
same thing here ...
On my SGS2 with GIngerbread, I used to get bluetooth with MAP, so I could easily pair my HP Touchpad with my SGS2, and send/receive all my sms from touchpad ...
Now after having loaded ICS 4.0.4 ROMs, I no more find any 'Advanced' setting under bluetooth options. :-(
hope someone can guide.
In order to use USB media and Pandora over Blutooth - you need to have Pandora installed on "local" storage. You lose SD card access to applications when it becomes a "USB HDD".. And yes, I'm thinking about going back to Gingerbread and CM7 on my Rezound, in order to get my functionality back I had with Sync. My Thunderbolt connected very nicely, and would send song titles over blutooth?? POUT This is a few steps backward, not forward..
I have the GSIII and loaded the Sprint release of JB, the MAP profile is enabled but I noticed one potential gotcha. When you initially pair a prompt comes up on the phone asking if you want to enable MAP, also there is a checkbox to say never ask again. If I do not check it but click enable, then MAP works for that session only. Next time I connect, I get no prompt and no ability to see my text messages. You need to reset and re-pair.

[Q] SMS not visible in car via Bluetooth

Hi
I've been using the resurrection roms for quite a while now, always been happy about it.
But now I upgraded to the latest JB 4.1, and when I sync my phone to my car via bluetooth, I can no longer access my SMS.
I did not have this issue with the ICS resurrection ROM, where this worked.
On the stocjk ROM I was even to play Audio via Bluetooth, but I did not use that any ways, so not a great loss.
Is there a way to enable this functionality again, without having to Flash another ROM?
Thx
Kevin
Anyone know how to enable SMS and streaming MP3 over bluetooth to my car?
bUMP?

[Q] Stream audio on Car Stereo with Bluetooth

Hi. I have a Galaxy S Wifi 3.6 (EU edition of Galaxy Player 3.6 - YP-GS1). I'm trying to stream audio to my Car Stereo (built-in Ford Fiesta audio). I have been able to pair my Galaxy to the Ford Audio bluetooth receiver doing this :
Enable BT discovery on my Galaxy
Search for devices
My Car Stereo gave me a pin and i entered it in my Galaxy
Now, i see a BT device named "Ford Audio" on the BT settings page, but it does show a phone icon. I don't know if this is right or not, as i don't have any other BT receiver to test. It shows as "paired" (even when i'm far from my car), but i havn't been able to get the Music from my Galaxy to the Car Stereo via A2DP so far.
I have installed a few different widgets from Google Play to control BT but no matter what Widget i try, i can't get the status to "connected" (for those Widgets that actually show a status). Also, when i try to use the menu of my Car Stereo, i can't see my Galaxy in the connected BT devices, whether i look into Phones or Audio / Bluetooth.
I guess i messed something up, but when searching on the net how to do this, it's always very simple : enable BT discovery, search and enter the PIN (which is exactly what i did). Then everything will work fine (actually, nothing works at al l )
EDIT : I should probably add i have Androïd 2.3.6 stock rom (non rooted). Version n° is GINGERBREAD.XXLD1.

Xtremeperia Rom ME7 Rom Bluetooth media not connecting automatically

Never posted before on this forum, but I am currently using the XTREMEPERIA Rom on my me7 Verizon Galaxy S4 with SafeStrap.
I was going to post this under the Xtremeperia Rom thread but you need 10 posts to post there. This is very good information so I will just post it here and hopefully a moderator will move it to an appropriate spot.
The stock me7 rom that comes with the phone doesnt have this issue nor do some of the other roms that work on me7, as far as I know. They are listed in the link below.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448726
Xtremeperia is an amazing ROM. Amazing battery life and super fast. However, it does have an issue with the Bluetooth media connect. Whenever you get into your car and the phone automatically connects to your Bluetooth, it only connects the phone Bluetooth for making calls but not the media Bluetooth for streaming audio. So you have to manually go into Bluetooth settings on your phone and select Bluetooth media every time. The great thing ( I hope ) is that this fix I am about to present will actually help anybody having this issue whether they have Xtremeperia or not.
You need to download 2 Apps from the Play Store to make it completely bug free and automated like the stock phone.
1) Smart Connect App (by Sony)
2) Bluetooth Auto Connect App (by UniqTec)
You will use the Bluetooth Auto Connect app so that it can automatically toggle your Bluetooth on and off whenever you get into your car. It has built in features to turn your Bluetooth on like when music is playing and/or when you connect it to your charger. It also turns off your bluetooth to conserve battery life when you are no longer playing media such as when you get out of your car. This app will always run in the background for you.
The second app which also runs in the background, Smart Connect, will force your connected device (i.e. Your cars Bluetooth) to forcibly connect the Bluetooth media to your cars Bluetooth. This way you do not have it manually anymore.
The beauty of it all is both apps work in harmony with each other. One turns your Bluetooth on and the other connects your Bluetooth media, every single time.
-------
There you go, now you can use an awesome Rom like Xtremeperia, get rid of your stock one, and still retain normal automatic Bluetooth audio streaming function.
Enjoy Android users! :cyclops:

[Q&A] use i9100 as a bluetooth car kit / speaker

Hi everybody,
I wonder whether it is possible to use my old I9100 as a bluetooth car-kit. I have already connected the speaker plug of the phone with the aux-in of the radio using a 3,5mm jack cable. I am trying to connect the recent phone via bluetooth - unfortunately after pairing the two devices the popup to select "telephone-audio" or "media-audio" will apperently not occur.
Is there any way (e.g. using a certain app or or custom ROM) to emulate a "real" car-kit? I am currently on 4.1 DBT Stock. But it would be no problem to switch to CM or comparable if a custom ROM will offer the ability.
Thanks in advance
HiHiMan
Try slimSaber, go for the last build, flash rom and gapps, arm=>4.4=>pico package. worked for me on an asus X501U, it has bluetooth audio.
Hi ultravy,
unfortunately slimsaber offers only "media audio". To connect the recent S5 in order to use the SII as a "BT speaker" the other option "telephone-audio" is needed.
I was also not able to stream music from the S5 to the SII, although "media-audio" was ticked.
Any other ideas?
I also tried CM11 which offers also the media audio option - but also no "telephone audio". Is there any app to use the SII as SAP /rSAP receiver?
...digging out as I am still looking for a solution
Does anybody have an idea how to pair my current phone via bluetooth and activate "telephone mode" on my I9100?
Is there any chance to enable A2DP to act as a bluetooth sink??
