Hi!
Couldn't find a solution for this. I first noticed it in the stock camera app and it won't store anything on my phone. I can't access anything when I connect the phone to USB (tried with usb debugging and without because that solved it one time in another rom). I would really just flash another rom, but because I can't save anything on the phone ergo I can't do a backup of my apps and settings and that would really be... time consuming.
I can mount USB storage from the recovery so that is not an issue. I "googled" last hour for the solution but couldn't find so apologies if it was answered somewhere else because I couldn't find it. Wanted to post in the development forum but don't have 10 posts.

Have you tried to flash the ROM again - without wipes because of ur data?

This time the manage the external sd it's different way, now the external SD it's called /emmc, there are your files. You can access to this folder with any file explorer (even the built-in one). Just open the file manager, select the "mnt" button, the one between the Home icon and SD icon. Inside you'll find emmc.

Thanks guys. Didn't manage it, but uninstalling and reinstalling mybackup pro after it asked for root perm. did the trick so with the apps,data and all other stuff backed up I just put the new 1.7 up and it works like a charm!
But, would be helpful (if not for me then for someone else) if I knew the reason why it got messed up in the first place

Hi all, I need some help with my Folio 100. I have installed V1.3b FolioMod on my tablet and apparently everything works OK, all the applications work fine, Wifi is Ok........ but I've noticed that have stopped responding both SDcard slot as the USB port. I tried by all means go back to the stock mod but no way to do it since it seems not to find the SD.
In addition, reviewing the tablet with the file manager seems to be nothing in the internal storage (or folders or files). I´ve tried to connect with my computer using the mini usb port but I can´t.
Could anyone help me to recover my Folio????

Try removing the battery for at least 5 minutes or so.
Hi Nemo0815, thanks for your response. I have removed the battery for half an hour and no change has happended.
Cheking the Folio in the device storage settings I have found that the total space in the internal storage is 0.00B and I don´t know where is the storage space.

this happened once for me too, i just removed the battery, waited 30secs while holding power button down, so i could drain it for all remaining power..
inserted battery and all was ok, and usb was working again.
looks like he's having the filesystem-not-mounting bug.
Hi Dexter_nlb, I have tried your suggestion and the problem is still there.
I´m thinking if the problem could be in relation with the missing storage capacity.

V0.0+ Generic format internal storage for all mods (so far) here, only needed if you got internal storage problems.
Rename downloaded patch to update.zip and install using recovery.
see if that one helps.

you could try to remount using ADB, but i have no clue on how.. it should be somewhere in the foliomod-thread though.

you can always reach it with adb and a folioMod installed, through recovery..
so if you can install adb (android sdk tools) + the proper driver, you can at least login and see what is wrong..
but if a sdcard slot is not working at all, that can also be your sdcard not supported, many others has the "16GB" problem using NTFS formatted cards.
make sure the sdcard is fat32 formatted, make sure you put a "update.zip" in the root, when recovery should try and find it..

I just updated to 1.3d and now have the same problem...cant read sd-card or usb, shows 0.00 mb of space on the "main" memory. Cant make new directory......well can do anything except using the sd-card and usb.
Have tried to take the battery out in both short and long time...nothing helps.
I hope someone can help....maybe Dexter I use the Folio to read cartoons and watch video..but now I cant get anything new on it

Hi, I had this problem once and I solved it like this :
1. Extract SD card.
2. Wipe your device, with the blue screen etc
3. Then install FolioMod 1.3d
For me it works, but yes i know all your data will be gone after this...
By the way, thank so much to you Dexter who transform my Folio in a great device. Keep going on !

Hi, I have the same proble and symtoms are:
· No sdcard (neither internal nor external). In this state, update fails, because external SD card can't be reached. I've tried FolioMod13d, FolioStock and File system format, but they fail.
· Tablet sometimes starts, but you can't do anything, because neither internal storage is not available, nor external.
· Cannot reach tablet through ADB, because USB link cannot be stablished.
· Have tried extracting battery, pushing on/off button, internal "reset" pin point, putting a piece of paper, tighting screws... no result
· Sometimes, when starting, starts vibrating and keeps all time like that, untill you stop the device.
· And sometimes, tablet even doesn't start, you get only black screen. Other times, you got start screen, but flashing "Android" does not appear.
All things had been tryed on full battery and low battery. Non starting problem appears often when low battery.
Sugestions?
I have to say that your Folio seems to be be very capricious, I never had so much problem with mine.
If you can't switch it on and if it's still cover by warranty try to bring it back to your seller.

I hope someone would be kind enough to help and i'm not violating any forum rules by asking these questions.
I installed cMIUI ([ROM][MIUI][20/10/12] cMIUI 2.10.19 [4.1.2]) and I could have like it very much. But two important things didn't work but may be fixable.
1) USB Mass Storage didn't work or even seem to exist. When I plugged in the USB into a pc, on the phone USB debugging mode started but nothing else. I did search for info on this and was saw indications about an app or two that could resolve the problem, but then that led me to my other problem.
2) Play Store wouldn't work in a certain way. I can go into play store, I can sign into it. I can search for apps. But when I try to install an app, it just thinks and thinks and thinks and never installs. I did try a fix I found whilst searching for answers which involved removing and readding my google account, but that made no difference.
I previously used CM9 and that was almost perfect out of the box with regards to both of these issues. Play Store would easily download and USB mass storage mode was *BANG* right in there! cMIUI looks lovely and it was smooth, but I feel kinda trapped because of these two limitations. If anyone knows of fixes or effective workarounds for both these issues, whether it be links to other xda articles or step-by-step instructions (I'm still a newbie to flashing ROMs even though within Android as an end user I'm pretty OK) then it would be much appreciated. cMIUI seems like a lovely ROM, a different experience. I lost patience quickly and went back to CM9, but I am looking back. I can still easily install the ROM, if I can primarily fix or secondarily work around these issues effectively.
I did search for answers, but I may not have been thorough enough.
I have a samsung galaxy s2 i9100, now back to CM9 4.0.4. I don't know if anymore info is needed.

I did try disabling USB debugging. When I did that, there was not response from the phone or computer at all, other than the phone charging.
I'll flash cMIUI again now and see if clearing the cache helps.

Thank you! I had the same problem with the Play Store. The clear-cache button was disabled somehow, and the only option left was to remove all updates. I did that, which didn't seem to work out at first. Then I restarted and suddenly it worked.

Hi there. I've tried what you suggested. Play store works better. I've installed 1Mobile Market to cover the slack which worked first time. But USB still doesn't work. Do you have any suggestions?

OK, i may have found a partial solution from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1800935. I did some more searching, widened the search not just to cMIUI but also to the CM10 that's it's based on. Found the following code that I had to put into Android Terminal Emulator, pressing "enter" and the end of each line.
su
setprop persist.sys.usb.config mass_storage
reboot
I had to do it twice and it managed to work ... I think. At least I can see the files on my internal SD card. Not sure about my external SD, that doesn't register at all on the pc. A step forward. I'm gonna see who slow the transfer speed is now. If anyone knows how to complete the fix so that the external SD card would register as well, that would be appreciated.

I have a very delicated problem with my HTC ONE. Last night I began to unlock my bootloader to install a root. That worked quite well.
So I did everything after the manuals and it worked fine. BUT then I tried to move the trickdroidrom onto the device and it wasnt possible.
Since then I am not able to access my mobiledevice neither from windows nor from mac. Anyhow i managed to install a filemanager and my htc one told me then that "no sd card is mounted"
I really have no clue how to manage with this. I am a beginner yes, but i already used google and the forum search but i only find things that tells to to at least put something on my device to go on...

For all idiots who made the same mistake!
I have flashed some TrickDroid Kernel which made the whole system not workable...
if u done the same idiotic thing than download some htc stock kernel and flash it again afterwards it should work again.

But I recently decided to remove the SD card as I wish to use it in another device. So I copied all the data from the SD card onto my PC, and then I copied the data from my PC to the phone storage after I had removed the SD card from the phone.
Again the phone worked fine. But then one morning after taking my phone off charge later in the day at work I tried to go into the gallery and it would come up with the message in the below screen shot.

Maybe because you have removed your external SD card your camera app is trying to store images to it but it can't because it's not there... See if you can change in camera settings where it stores your images to internal instead of external.
The phone automatically changed the settings to storage device when the SD card was removed. Never the less I doubled checked and indeed it is set to device.
It's not just the camera tho. Nothing will save. Screenshots, downloads, camera ect ect. I can't open the gallery app at all.
Also I just noticed a secondary problem. When I open up the camera app I can see everything fine inside the app but when I go to take a photo I doesn't save it (which I already knew, part of the original problem) but I just noticed when I tried to close the camera app after taking a photo it wouldn't let me! It would not close. All the setting tabs greyed out so I couldn't go into any of the menus and I had to force restart the phone to be able to use it again!!!!

Clear all data and freeze the one that's causing problems and backup and uninstall and use another..If you like stock camera try one of the modded ones in themes thread...

I'm still not exactly sure what the problem was or specifically what fixed it. But last night i decided to root the phone again and install a custom rom (I installed Android Revolution HD 40.0) and after it was flashed everything works as normal.
So sorry if you happen to have the same problem as me and stumbled across this thread at a later date. I don't know how to fix the problem but apparently a root and custom rom works wonders. lol.

Ok, so I got the tronsmart vega s89 and I can't install purchased apps on it I get error (couldn't install on USB storage or SD card) funny thing is no first time I tried install I didn't have sd card in. I have looked for the temp file smt2 or whatever it is, its not here. This device is on kitkat and I think has a bad path to install location. Can I Change the install location? This error only happens with purchased apps NOT free ones. Any help would be appreciated!

Should work if you just remove your Google Account and then add it back and try again.

No, I wish it was that easy. I have tried Factory reset and removing account.
Sounds like a pain! Do you have more than 1 account on the tablet or use 2 different Google accounts? Seems like many people with this issue had success by using the Play Store site on the PC to tell it to install. Obviously not ideal, but just seems to be a weird thing that affects certain devices / updates. This is a known issue. The manufacturer has been made aware of this and they will fix it soon. People have reported that if you restore paid apps with something like titanium backup then it works - so thats the wokaround if need paid apps for now.
Head to this forum - the developers do there magic there not in XDA.

I searched a lot for this and finally got this solution.. It worked for me..
All u have to do is unmount sd card before installin and u can see it installs perfectly.....
After install u can mount sd card again
