Let's hope for a 1080p screen this time. I love the screen size of the note but I miss having over 300dpi. Let's hope for a better processor too.
Oh well of Samsung release it in june, we probably will be waiting until september for the american version (which would make perfect sense for a launching date.)

She was adamant. Knew everything about the new device.

If it is, it won't be a us note. It will be a international note which we won't see for at least another year. Samsung has the note coming to T-Mobile with no release date yet and possibly another carrier, to release a 2nd note right after these come out wouldn't be good business sense for them

for a LONG time samsung wouldnt make LCD tv's under 40'' with 1080p because you could not tell the difference on that size of a screen

Even if its the new Snapdragon ARM15 28nm processor it would be a huge upgrade. In some benchmarking test the dual core Qualcomm beats the new Nvidia Tegra 3 chip. Though I am excited to see how the new Exynos quadcore processor does.

Well, compared to the Galaxy Nexus screen or to the One X, yes 284dpi is lame when you're reading. I know that 1080p is alot and probably useless but huh technology lol

If you think you can honestly see the difference between 284dpi and 316dpi...more power to you. The fact you KNOW the nexus has a higher DPI makes you think you miss it. Side by side you aren't going to see a difference...and certainly not enough to bother you when reading...

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using XDA

Human eyes can see 300+ DPI. It just depends at what distance you're looking at it. There's a formula around somewhere where you can calculate at what distance you can no longer see the individual pixels for a given resolution. But while I'm laying in bed and reading, I can still see the individual pixels even on my old iPhone 4. There's a huge different between 326 DPI or whatever it is on the i4 and the 284 on the Note.

im hoping the sgs3 will come in right around 4.8-5 inches. and i will snatch that up if the specs are decent ( def quad ) i hope
I hope not... this will be the GNotes downfall... in some cases it already is (too big). I love the size of mine, heck even my 2.5 year old son can hold it with one hand (kinda looks like he's holding a tablet), but ~7" is just crazy big... that's on the cusp of being ridiculously not-so-good looking.

I don't know i was kinda shock its like the shelf life of high end phones around 6 to 7 months then wham a new version. Now I did read that the slll will have only a duel core due to the quad doesn't play well with lte. Maybe that's why a duel core. Idk. One thing I've noticed is the phones are never complete to me. The one x has the quad core great camera but then no sd card. The note great but doesn't have the s4 chip. It's like all the phones have one major features lacking just so u may have to upgrade or move on to the next one.
What about a phone that has
Quad core
Sd card
2gb of ram
Super almoled screen
Lte
Lastest os
Thin
Great camera
Great processor
The ultimate phone all the best of the recent phones. Now that would be hot.

It won't be much longer and this phone will have been out for a year. My next Note will be an international one since LTE is not appealing to me. Bring it!
"Due to its incredible success Samsung has started to work on its predecessor the Galaxy Note 2."
Who writes these things? I doubt predecessor is the word they wanted to use.
Successor must have confused them
I don't buy it, the specs just don't add up. .2" bigger is quite bigger even though it doesn't seen so, only 1.5gb of ram whb the s3 has 2? The processor? Nah its a fake
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using XDA
Of course it's fake. Samsung has never stated that they intend to make another Note. It is pure conjecture.
Look what happened when they dropped the screen size half an inch with the S3. All of a sudden it is cool to have a ginormous screen. Hopefully it won't dissuade them to keep it above five inches.
The S3 is getting an SPen (called a CPen) very soon as well. Maybe the next Note will be one of the five Nexus phones dropping this year.
Who knows. Hell the one true fact of technology is you can't really keep up. There will always be the next hotness around the bend. Wow I didn't relize the note had been out so long I guess cuz Att just got it in March/April but i guess it has been out longer internationally.

That's how it usually works. International first and then the Americas. I am surprised the S3 is being released this quickly in the U.S. to be honest. Maybe they are trying to soak up some of the 'would be' iPhone 5 buyers although it is probably more along the lines of supply and demand.

To many little things in this article don't add up fire me to believe any more than maybe the timing.
First, it's either written by someone whose native tongue is not English or something... And why would the SG3 get quad core and the revised note be dual core? Just because if the lte thing? Makes no sense.
And why would they repeat the crap about over 300 dpi again as they do.

Samsung says that all their flagship devices, including the GS3 will get the software improvements, anything not related to hardware, like ir.
I don't want to downgrade screen sizes so Note 3 is when I'm making my move. That S4 Snapdragon CPU is ridiculously fast though and makes me jealous that I only have an Exynos 4 (which is still fast).
Edit: I hate to be critical but I'm just pointing out the Roman numeral for '4' is 'IV'. Sorta bugged me that you were calling it a Galaxy S6 haha

The 6.3 is actually VERY interesting.
1) It will be most likely bigger than Note 3 screen size and is lower resolution.
2) 720P is more than enough for me and with 3200 battery and dual core processor means amazing battery life
3) It is PLS LCD, and hands on review is very positive. I personally always preferred LCD's color accuracy over pentile AMOLED's bluish whites
4) Unconfirmed: It is supposed to be Exynos A15, same processor in N10, which is flat out amazing
I have no use for the S-Pen, if this is $200 cheaper than Note 2 and is available on AT&T it is a winner.
Too bad I doubt we will have this for AT&T so will most likely have to do Note 3 . . .
Doesn't AT&T have similar frequencies to the rest of the world?
I'm interested in the 6.3, to use on a TMobile phone plan OR an AT&T tablet plan (might not be recognized as a phone). I love my 7.0+ but these would pocket carry a little easier. I'd consider selling that and my i717 and getting the 6.3 to go with my S2 (still love that thing!).
The 5.8 does look a little bleh but the 6.3 might be what I always wanted- a compact cellular tablet. They both look a lot better than that Galaxy Grand/Samsung Galaxy Player with a radio thing.

Im compairing the Mega 6.3 with the Hauwei Ascend Mate 6.1, on specs the Ascend wins hands down, but still not sure as 3rd party roms might not be developed for the Ascend, a 4050mah battery is awesome too and its waterproof, quad core and 2gb of ram!!!, this is a difficult choice at least i've got 4 weeks to decide.
The Mate also looks to be pentaband.

Anyone leaving the S4 for the Note 3?

The G2 thread is quite popular with some good discussion going on, so I thought I'd start a discussion about my next device; the Note 3. It's going to be introduced at an unboxing event on Sept 4th in Berlin, Germany; just ahead of the IFA 2013 the conference the previous two Notes have been introduced from. The specifications are hefty:
5.68″ Full HD Super AMOLED display (1920 x 1080)
Octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz (depending on the market)
3GB of RAM
13MP back-facing camera with OIS technology
ARM Mali-T628 MP6 GPU
4G LTE
16GB/32GB/64GB storage options
microSD slot supportable of additional 64GB
Android 4.3 Jelly Bean
3,200mAh battery
I'll be using Verizon's Device Payment Program to both upgrade my device early and retain my unlimited data.

My next device surely won't be from Samsung.

As the OP says...why???
No. Sorry, but a screen/device that large is simply too big. Also, Samsung can pack as much horsepower they want under the hood in terms of specs, but they really should focus on the software optimization to get a truly great phone. That's where performance is lacking.
With that said, no, the S4 will stay for now. Outside of a bigger device and screen, I probably wouldn't notice much difference.

As the guy above me basically states, the phone is crap if the software isn't optimized. In a perfect world I wouldn't resort to modding my device. However, with all the stuff Samsung loads in I need to because I feel a degradation in performance compared to previous devices. Samsung just makes the software and hopes that the high end specs will make for a smooth experience. This just won't cut it anymore. People can complain about the iPhone all they want but with the "meh" specs its packing Apple makes up for it with their excellent software optimizations. Not sure what my next device would be though.

Nope, not me. I'm waiting for the Note 4, which is gonna be so much better than the S5. Haha Just kidding...
Seriously though, I'm probably going to jump on the Note 3 when it does come out. I like having the newest thing... and I love me big screens!
I am considering the HTC One Max if it is indeed VZW bound

Sonys xpera z ultra would be nice. If they found a way to lock down the s4 for say ever then the note 3 will most likely be the same way on launch.. unless of course they launch a developer edition when the s5 comes out lol
