Is there any way to port SGS3's camera on our Xperia S, want to use feature of clicking Photos while Video recording.

This will be available on any AOSP based ROM. Meanwhile you can try installing Camera.apk from CM9 on the stock ROM.

Get it from the CM9 zip, I don't have it on me.
Already tried it, the apk installs but force closes as soon as you try and run it.

Testers are needed to make sure that video recordingin ICS works without any problems. It works fine for me. This patch is not developed by me. All credits go to rapmv78. His patch is in the link. I think tat video recording is not available in roms available in x10 forum. So flash this fix and let me know.
If any one is unable to download from server, u can have the link.
All credits go to rapmv78 only.

Its almost workin on FXP129. Recording starts and shows recording time but saving a file causes hanging and few times wload. Files cannot be opened neither on phone and PC.

Here it doesnt cause WLOD but becomes quite unresponsive. FXP129 has zdzihu's fix right??

no Fxp 129 doesn't have zdzihu's fix.
you have to flash fix manually

Dont understand what r u talking about. In first post u wrote that it works fine for u (so it means for me that it creates video files) n now u write its quite unresponsive.
So is it workin?
If so let us know what kernel and what rom do u use?

this patch doesn't add anything new to z's camera fix. doesn't matter if you apply the patch before or after z's fix.
short answer: doesn't work!

On z's fix I couldnt start recording after this patch its starting (also Elixir now shows Camcorder properties before it caused WLOD) but recorded files cant be played
What a crock of ****!!! Just tested this, i should have known better! , and it's not working! DUH!!! :silly: X10 has no HWA!!! Thanx for nothing!!!

xD i guess i made a disaster
First of all i've installed cm9 fallowing the wiki guide and it went all okey with unlocking and all..but when i booted it..i got the msg that trebachet has stopped working...then ( idk where i read it..)i formatted my sdcard..( here i guess i made the disaster..xD) then when i tried to boot it up i got an other msg that the configuration app stopped working ( guess its the setupwizard) but its in the googleapps -.- then i tried to install cm7 the stable 1 and im stuck on the booting logo
Any help will be appreciated tnx in advice

the trebuchet error was most likely because of the kernel from the zip
now, if you still have the ROM installed, please flash a compatible kernel from here...
and let your phone boot once & settle, then login to Google account

as told earlier the kernel was the problem.. try the fxp132( cm9rc2) with the alliance cm9 kernel.. everything works fine.. Im using that.. dont forget to flash gapps..

the problem was the photo dimensions i cant take photos in HD1080 or 3mp/5/6/8 because the App stops working

he will have an 8 MP option if he's got a neo, else it should be 5 MP
if you are using the official CM9RC2, flash kernel from here by night elf, use either full or lite for CM9 everything worked for me, cant help much as am using AOKP now

I installed FXP132 with the kernel that was into the zip of fxp132 and everything works fine...so.....¿what kernel is that?
¿the alliance cm9 kernel is better? ¿wich is the last version and where can I find it?

Lol.. rather than that kernel, try the alliance. Gives better battery backup. :thumbup:

it wasnt fully charged yday and in 18h it went to 20% ( which is pretty normal i used it a lot..) now will charge it and see

18h and 20% is actually too much.. I too experience the same..but when I was on stock ICS,it was far better.

Hi Guys !! I was on CM9 stable when I switched to video mode of the front camera. Before that in photo mode it was working properly. But after i switched to video mode there was a black screen with FC. From then my front camera is not working (both photo and video mode) on every rom. Either I get a black screen or a reboot or an FC. Plus i have unlocked B/L. Please help. Thanx in advance.

Did you also try stock rom and after that *#*#7378423#*#*>Service Test>Secondary Camera?

Why format sd card? SD Card has nothing to do with frontcam? Or am I wrong?
Try on stock rom, best way
Yup,flash it with the stock Rom n kernel and then try...and did u check the secondary cam in service menu...is it working...
I faced similar problem but on main cam. Sd card had some bad blocks..

Friend the solution is this, go to settings - applications - all-camera, and give clear data, reboot and you work.

Thank you. I'll try this and inform you. For now i am not that concerned about the front cam. but it's really an issue. Btw I've tried stock 587 Rom but the front cam didn't work. I didn't check the service menu though.

I've tried wiping camera data many times in all the roms. Doesn't help.

i had a similar problem, i reinstalled stock 2.3.4 rom,then cm9 kernel (to root the device)(u can also use rage2.9 kernel just to root),then baseband,then i installed cm9 rom again and thats it,works for me
wiping sd-ext also helps

Bad luck for me Guys. Flashed a stock GB rom. Still Front Cam not working both in Camera app or in service mode. Can anyone confirm if i can claim warranty by relocking bootloader...??

if u lock bootloader and unroot ur device u can claim your waranty.did u try wiping sd-ext?,that sometimes helps

Don't know, cause unlocking bootloader official way voids your warranty. So they could say it has happend because of a custom rom. Maybe try the support chat or phone and aks...
Did anyone face any similar issue using cm9?
Yup,front cam didnt work in cm9 n cm7 for that matter.I went back to stock and then installed ics.now it works perfectly.

For me wifi is working fine
Hmmm...not sure about that roms but i believe its using SlimRom Camera not CM Camera....since its 4.4.2 roms then sorry you can't use stock camera cause stock camera is limited to GB and ICS only....
there a lot of 3rd party camera out there that can replace your default camera such as Camera 360, Google Camera or Camera MX....

yes bro..u r right..there is a wifi..bug..i changed the rom to ics bloatware freee.as the rom was bugged upand u noticed or not ...while playing video in mx player..the video sometimes doesnt play at req fps, sometimes video is forward then the audio...and video doesnt sync well...:silly:

thanks , the new rom 5.1 fixed wifi bug , so it back to the remix rom agian
i tried to recover the stock camera with titanuim backup but not worked , sorry for that
