Blocking iPhone iChat messages from iPhone users - Motorola Photon 4G

Is there a way to block all of the group messages that are sent from the iPhone iChat???? Like 8 of my friends have a iPhone so whenever they send a message to the group it comes to be from that person individually but with the heading
"[Subject: New Message]"
And I cannot block them or stop the notifications since I am in the group of the chat. Any suggestions besides asking them to not include me since they will just do so to annoy me lol

Sounds to me like its an MMS message - If I send an MMS message with no subject it comes across the same way.
Can they use the subject field would that help?

If they use change the subject field it won't help block the messages. Even if I select to not auto-receive the MMS messages I still get the notification and every message from the group. I wouldn't mind if they got sent to one entry and it was just a running chat message basically. But every time each contact messages the group I get a individual message from them. So if 8 people are in the Chat I get a message from each of the 8 every time they reply. Has no one else come across this yet?????????????

Seriously. So sick of that feature for every non-iPhone user.

There has to be a fix or a way to block these. You may receive 100 messages in one day, for me at least 100, from the group chat. very very very annoying! Any suggestions

How do you send text-only group MMS?

As you all know, Android lacks the ability to receive group text from iPhone users under one single thread. iPhone users can text a multiple users using MMS, and all the replies from all recipients will appear under one "group MMS" thread. For Android users, each individual message in the conversation appears under the contact that sends it, not under a group thread. As a result, my SGS2 can't "reply all" to everybody who is on the original list of recipients.
This is a problem for me as I group text a lot and most of my friends are iPhone users.
I was a dumbphone user right until I got my SGS2 a month ago. I manage to tackle this problem with my dumbphone because it can "reply-all" to MMS messages.
I can't seem to find this option on the SGS2. Anyone got any pointers? Is it possible to send a text only MMS message to multiple contacts?
Reply All to iPhone group texts
I use GO SMS so this may not work in the stock Messaging app.
When I receive an iPhone group text (=Group MMS), I do the following:
(1) Create a new text-only message
(2) Manually key in all the contacts from the group text
(3) Add a subject (e.g. "X") to convert the text-only message into a Group MMS
iPhone users will receive your Group MMS in the same group text thread that everyone else is on, plus the additional "X" subject line. As you already know, without the subject, your text-only message will be sent out as SMS messages to each individual and the iPhone users will not see it in the group text thread.
Until Android Issue 24468 (google it) is resolved, this manual method is the only way I know of how to Reply All to iPhone group texts from an Android phone.
Hope that helps.
p.s. SGS2 is amazing.

[Q] app to group text with iphones and others?

i get group messages all the time from android and iphone users that come in as pic messages, i guess mms....they come in as individual mms/texts...is there any app that would make it a group text incoming?...same with sending/creating a group message

Keep getting "Anonymous" text that always say no message found???

So I noticed on both our S2 and 4, if we're sent a group text, and that group text is a pic or whatever... it'll say hidden sender address -> message not found. Happens all the time, just happened again on a group text with my mom and sis (both iPhone users and all of us with AT&T). Mom responded as obviously she got the pic, I didn't know what it was since I never got anything. I started realizing when this happens with the "message not found" in group text, it's almost always a pic sent from an iPhone person. I don't think it's ever happened on both phones from Android users sending group text with pic.
I've read about this online and lots of people asking the same thing but little/no help or knowing what causes it, I just thought it was odd that I just realized it's when iPhone users send a pic out as a group text. Some were using 3rd party apps and had this issue and reverted to stock, I don't have any 3rd party as I like the stock mms app.

[Q] Google Hangouts Group Message Question

I just swtiched to CM11 on my Nexus 5. In google hangouts the text messaging doesnt seem to be behaving the same now. Problem i am having is with group messages. I send text to 4 or 5 people at once but their responses all come back in separate messages to me. they look like they are just to me but it seems from responses that they are to everyone in group. It didnt do this before. If i sent messages to group, all their responses came back in the same message thread. if i had seperate message to someone it was in its own thread. please help because this is very annoying. there has to be a setting or something that got switched
I think using google hangouts its meant for that to happen if I am correct. If your sending a text it sends to individually but if you send a hangout messages thats a group message.

It definitely wasn't doing this before. Send a group message and it wouldn't seperate into individual messages. It absolutely shouldn't be sending me a message that looks like it's from one person and only going to me but actually is going to a group.

Bump. Having the same issue. Did you fix the problem?

Can view in preview but doesn't show when opening the actual message

Afternoon...
When receiving group messages there's 1 user who's messages I can't view for some reason.
I get the pop-up and can read part of the message in preview but when I open the group message it doesn't show the actual message.
As far as I can tell it's only from this one person. I used to receive messages from them previously without a problem.
Anyway, figured I'd see if anyone has some ideas on how to fix this.
I should add, other folks I know (iPhone users) are able to see his messages just fine. He's using either a Windows phone or an Android... not sure which, but def. not an iPhone.
Oh, and I'm using the stock messaging app too...
Thanks!
Any suggestions?
