Hey guys I have looked everywhere but I can't find anyone who has the updated widgets from HTC hub like fortune cookie translator etc... I have a stock s-on amaze 4g with the leaked ICS ROM and it doesn't have the ability to Get more HTC widgets yet . I'm really just looking for the translator, tip calculator, and word of the day widgets. I also have the sensation 4g and have tried to extract them from the phone but can't locate locate where they install to extract them. I found one person who has the widgets but they are all outdated version (2.0) and kinda buggy. Thank you for your assistance

the 'nine contact grid' widget is way more useful than the normal 3 one
accordin to HTC support, some ROM updates have this and some do not. If it is not in your rom, next update will have it
Hey Guys! I am using the EzHero 5.1 (Android 2.1 Eclair) and I am wondering that HTC Sync doesn't find my phone. What do I have to do, to make it work? Or ist it impossible?

HTC Sync is HTC special software, and as such is only available in the Sense ROMs.
I too use HTC Sync a lot, and that is why I have not been able to move to Froyo: there are no 2.2 ROMs with Sense for Hero :-(
As for you case (Eclair) you will easily find another Sense ROM (VillainROM for example) and that will support HTC Sync
I have investigated how to get HTC sync to run on non-HTC ROMs, but so far, not managed (if anyone knows how to please let us know...)

Why do you need HTC Sense - that's what i'm wondering. You can do most of it just be file transfers. Contacts is another issue but converting them to gmail contacts isn't difficult IMO. Also programs such as Songbird and other media management tools should recognize the devise.
I have noticed that some ROMs and at least one I know of for Hero, feature the Samsung Galaxy Launcher, which is basically the slightly different version/look/feel of Android as it is features on Samsung Galaxy variant phones. One of the best highlights is the iPhone-like application view which I find neat and tidy.
My question is simple: How do these developers put this Launcher into their ROMs? Is there a readily available .apk file that one can flash on to their phones, or some other method to install it?
Though I am specifically asking for the HTC Hero, ideally such a solution could help with my HTC Desire as well!
You can grab it from here. I have used it on my Hero and it runs pretty good. Obviously you don't get the Samsung widgets but you get all the other features

I have been a member here for a while and i have tried out a few custom rom's on my desire hd, my question is....
I have an android tablet that is Gingerbread, has anyone developed an installable verion of the sense ui? i know its not to everyone's liking but it works well for how i use my phone with work etc
I have done a search and i didnt find much other than launcher pro look a likes etc and as my tablet is the same 800 x 480 resolution i wondered if it was possible?
Any help would be appreciated, or just tell me to bugger off lol!

As sense is built into so many parts of android (including some parts which are completely replaced by sense) i dont think this is possible. Its definately impossible without root.
Your best bet is finding a launcher you like and then finding apps to do the things you like sense doing. (e.g. syncmypix can sync facebook pics with contacts like sense does)

I'm trying to help out my Mom with her new HTC Desire HD. She likes Sense overall and wants to keep it, but she saw my EVO 3D running MIUI and absolutely loved the calendar app, with the different settings and the overall feel of it.
Is there any app that I could install on her HTC Desire HD (not rooted, S-ON) that would do this? (One of the most important features is the ability to set custom ringtones for appointments in the calendar)

well for a calendar try to install Business calendar.....my brother use this very often...I don't know if you can have different ringtones for notifications but you can give it a try.....btw it's free!!
