Can't we just relock the phone and place PH85IMG.zip on the sd card and let it update from the bootloader since the ruu flashes the stock recovery? Or am I missing something?
Thanks in advance.

It is at 10% uploading right now. Just 90% more to go lol

Yes you can. That's the process I use all the time.

I personally just went from stock gb to ics leak placing by the renamed dl on my ext SD and letting the phone run it's course in boot mode. From stock to stock.
Granted I did not use a recovery of any sort, so yes pics etc..were lost but I did not have much on my phone so I did not mind.

[HBOOT] Engineering Bootloader For Extended Fastboot Commands

Now that S-OFF is available we can use the eng bootloader to get extra fastboot commands. If you set S-ON for whatever reason you must flash a SHIP bootloader first or you will brick your phone. If you aren't sure if you need this or not odds are you probably don't, it can be extremely useful but it assumes you know what you are doing so it is much easier to brick your phone with it.
To flash either rename to PG86IMG, place on your sd card and then reboot to the bootloader; or you can use 'fastboot oem rebootRUU' followed by 'fastboot flash zip PG86IMG_eng-hboot.zip'. A list of the available commands can be found here.
hBoot 1.04.2000, mirror - MD5: 3348C361FED927DABB853E49744BD7F2
If you would like to go back to the SHIP one you can download it here. The process to flash it is the same except over USB you can do it straight from fastboot without RUU mode.
PG86IMG_1.40-hboot - MD5: 1B994699EA226390B47282BCB54088DD
For more versions of hboots including hacked ones check out ramjet73's post here.
Thank you to the AlphaRev & Unrevoked teams for getting us all S-OFF! I also want to say thank you to TeamWin for making the wait bearable by getting us root and to everyone who has spent time ripping this phone apart.
Also thanks go out to SolsticeZero for being a guinea pig and making sure it flashed correctly
Thanks Haus!
Did you already check to see if they included the extra commands??
have you flashed this hboot? would like to have a confirmation first. I am s-off, rooted and nandroided!

A list of all the commands can be found here. To flash it you can rename it to PG86IMG and place it on your sdcard, then boot into the bootloader. Or, you can also flash through fastboot by using:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip PG86IMG_eng-hboot.zip

I'm sorry for being such a noob and now my dropbox upload won't be too much use but just for clarification (I only got dropbox to host this specific file since my websites ftp is acting screwy) how do I make like a hyperlink straight to the .img file in my dropbox so I can share it?
Dumb question lol I just never jumped on the dropbox bandwagon
EDIT: NVM, got it, one sec
EDIT 2: Okay gotta reup it, apparently deleting my public folder caused my issue. I'll be back with a hyperlink if anyone needs.

I'm not sure if I do or not, pretty sure not. But I might.. would I have got those apps from the OTA or should I look at a dump from before the OTA? Either way I'll make dumps of the individual partitions as well now that I got that freaking public folder working.
Thanks haus. Now I got eng. hboot root recovery and s=off! I know I've seen you in these threads since day one so I wanted to thank you first. This all made my day after a long one at work.

[CONFIRMED] Root after OTA

Just wanted to let you guys know that I still have root after I installed the OTA. I will give a few steps what I did in a few minutes.
These are the steps I used. Took a while (seemed like forever) but at least I am updated and with root. I originally came from an ICS rom then I had to flash a stock rom then RUU.
1. Flashed stock recovery (Link below)
2. Locked bootloader (fastboot oem lock)
3. Flashed RUU 1.02.605.6 (link below)
4. Installed OTA (check for new software updates when booted)
5. Unlocked bootloader (http://www.htcdev.com/)
6. Flashed RA recovery (found in forum)
7. Installed su and superuser under Developer menu under RA recovery
8. BAM!!!!!!!
The RUU I used was found at http://www.scottsroms.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=37
Thanks scrosler for having that available!
The stock recovery can be downloaded at http://db.tt/tw5m33ZG. Unzip and flash in Fastboot using command "fastboot flash recovery recovery_signed.img"
Can you post a link to the RUU and stock recovery you used ? Thanks.

I put very general commands and info beside the steps in the first post. PM me if you have any questions.
So does it seem like it's worth it? How's reception and call quality with the new radios?
What radio versions does your phone list now?
I just rooted. I still have my original stock ruu. It's rooted though. Could I update with that or do I have to unroot?
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk
If it lets you update then go for it. Just make sure your bootloader is unlocked after the update then install su and superuser and you got root back basically.
So if I just uninstall su I can update? I have amon ra as my recovery. What about that??
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk
You would need the stock recovery. RA would cause it to fail.

It won't work because (I'm assuming) that his mainver was updated. AFAIK the RUU won't run a "newer" mainver.

[Recovery] Stock/4EXT flashable zips

I know this belongs in the dev section, but I just wanna make sure this works correctly first, it's mainly aimed at users who wanna restore their phone to stock but won't be able to do so via a stock ruu due to them being s-on or just preferring to have stock and not need the whole complete restore thing. Now this zip file contains the stock recovery and I also have a zip with 4EXT recovery, I'm trying to make it simple as possible, so if the zip files don't work as planned, I'll revert back to the classic method of fastboot flashing to test, now I'll need at least one s-off user to test this for me, post here and I'll inbox you a link to the flashable zip, since I don't want n00bs flashing things they have no clue about and I have no clue what the result will fully be as yet.
Thank you very much, I would test it myself but I don't currently have an Amaze.
4ext
I'm s-on, but i'm currently about to update to the most recent RUU for t-mobile if you would like me to flash. As I am going to have to relock, flash ph85img, unlock and flash recovery. I could use a zip of 4ext instead of download the app then rebootloading into recovery. PM me if you can!

Pulled the files from the ota image, that's why I prefer an s-off user, they'll have more experience with fastboot if the recovery doesn't go through as it should. Maybe when you s-off, .

Gotcha totally cool! I'm flashing the RUU above the OTA since its newer to see the difference. I would s-off but there no use for me yet! Good luck!

Fastest Way Back To Stock From S-Off ICS?

Running a Sense 4 rom right now, Bootloader unlocked, S-Off. I need the fastest most simplest way to get back to a stock rom rooted or non rooted. Just stock GB
Can I just flash a stock gb rom and im good, since im s-offed?
instructions
run the gb ruu twice, it will take u straight back to stock. and restore ur hboot to factory, u have the choice s-on after that too ( although i dont think this has ne thing to do with performance of battery life, just warranty and replacement issues )
Does the hboot have to be restored? All I need is the phone able to work 100% but it doesn't have to be 100% stock. Just work 100% stock

see the issue is the different kernels and mount points for ics and gb, Unless you run an ics with gb patch ( not sure if that exits . i know we have tons of ics patches for gb hboots ) so make sure your hboot version matches your os of choice , whether its ics of gb.
Alright. So I run the .exe GB Ruu. Then can you guide me from there?

If you run that you are at 100% stock GB idk what the other guy is saying. The RUU is there solely to return you to 100% unrooted bone stock

That's what I'm saying you don't need to worry about that the RUU takes you to 100% stock that includes hboot, kernel, rom, recovery, everything
Unroot without PC connection
I rooted using Scottys noob friendly root guide on phandroid (sorry no links for new guys) and it worked great. Flashed RezROM and ICS kernel. I decided to unroot but my phone wouldn't resad my sd card or connect as disc drive. Flashed CleanROM. same problem. Is there a way to unroot in bootloader/recovery without the mini-adb command line business? Serious noob here. Thankyou.
Oh OK cool. Thanks brotha

You can just run a RUU, that will break the root. You have to lock your bootloader first though. You can do that by downloading Hansoon's first All-In-One Tool. It takes care of the command line business for you. If you want it and can't find it, let me know. However....read on.
Now, about your sd card trouble. Did you flash the SD Card/Old firmware patch when you flashed the ICS RezROM....if not...you should have...and might contribute to the problem you're seeing.
Since I'm soff I don't have to relock boot loader when I ruu back to gb right?

I downloaded both of these and followed the instructions given. I then tried CleanROM to get my sd card back. which didn't work.
http://www.scottsroms.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=119
it is also based on ICS so I didn't need a new kernel right?
Also my AmonRa backup mysteriously disappeared and I'm not sure how to run an ruu. is there a link to a good guide for it? the scotty post has a guide but the full ruu, which I assume I need after 2 ROMs, isn't a .zip file so I don't know how to access it in the bootloader. I feel like I got way over my head with this.
my bootloader page reads
VIGOR PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-2.11.0000
eMMC-boot

Also, are there links to the right kernels and RUU's... I don't even know where to begin to figure out which ones I need.

Both of the ROMs you listed would require you to run the Old Firmware patch. On Scotts link it is listed in the section titled 'extras' ...in the RezRom it is under the basic instructions. For both of those you should have flashed the ROM in recovery, flashed the boot(kernel) through bootloader, and then flashed the firmware patch. You see, ICS uses different mount points on the SD card compared to GB and since you are still on GB Firmware (hboot 2.11), you need to do that.
Just google "rezound flash ruu" ....basically, you'll have to relock your bootloader, download the ruu, rename it to ph98img.zip, and then boot into bootloader and let it install. Good directions and links for the latest LEAKED RUU are in post 3 of this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1508118 This RUU will get you the latest and greatest ICS firmware. I can't remember, you're not getting ready to send back to Verizon, right?
I'd say reinstall Scott's rom again first though. Can you read the SD card with your computer?

No, I'm not sending back to Verizon. I panicked when my card wouldn't read and decided I needed a better handle on customizing before I ROMed but it was too late damage done. I am keeping the phone so it doesn't need to be purely stock. And yes my laptop reads it, that was my only saving grace since RezROM didn't read my card. I will try what you have given me. I'll update if it works.

Now AmonRa isn't booting. I get a warning triangle.

Do you have the recovery as a recovery.img or as a ph98img.zip file? If you can boot into hboot I'm thinking you should reflash it.

Yea he's right no need to unlock once you S-OFF because now even after an RUU I think it will still say relocked no matter what and you'll have to S-ON then S-OFF again to have that go away.

This should be it here. Scroll down to the recovery section and there should be a ph98img.zip file linked: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1425091
You may have to take out the card to rename it or else you won't be able to get to recovery because the bootloader always looks for a ph98img file before it does anything and if it finds one you either choose to update or reboot ....! So if it were me, I'd take out the card and put scott's roms files on it at the same time. Put it into the phone, boot to recovery and flash the rom, boot.img, and sd card patch.
