What happened to the weather animation after unlocking phone? - HTC Amaze 4G

When I use to unlock the phone, it would show me a animation of the current weather, just wondering what happen to that feature in ICS? It's not a critical thing but I always thought the weather animation was cool.

you mean the live wallpaper in the background?

It's a Rosie animaton. You need one of the Rosie clocks. Drag it to the top left corner to 'edit' it select your location then it will ask if you want full screen animation. Turn it on or off from there. If you want sound open the weather app in your drawer then select menu and you can find it in one of those options.
This will not work if you're using a de-sensed Rom.

YAY lol I know its a simple thing but man it looks cool ;p Wish it had more animations though.

There's different animations but it depends on the weather. I like the rainy day animation with the windshield wipers..

[Q] Weather and Toggle Widget; Animation Help Please??

I'm using Weather and Toggle Widget and can't seem to get the animation to work properly for the current weather. Can anyone help me out with this? I have the weather widget extra add on there already as well and can only seem to get some animation when unlocking the screen....
It is sunny where I am right now and no animation comes across...This is my first time using this widget, but was assuming it would be similar to the HTC Desktop Clock where there is animation for any displayed weather (clouds, rays of sunshine, rain, fog, etc.). Any help is appreciated, thanks!
-J
there is an animation for the sun and the moon but they're both combined. The sun doesn't do the lens flare effect like it does on htc sense phones. All you see is a quick little sparkle in the upper right corner of the clock and you'll see some fog appear for towards the bottom of the clock. Remember these are just imitation weather animations...they're not identical to htc sense.
put the clock and weather widget on a home screen tap the weather portion and in the bottom left corner tap the settings button select addon settings and check the box for unlock animation.
kcbboy: yeah those were the animations i was able to get working. weird though, no matter what screen i unlock from those animations will play, haha. for example i can lock the screen in the contacts menu, unlock it and those animations will play in the contacts menu lol...but yeah, thanks for the help anyway. not a deal breaker, but the htc sense animations would be sweet...
schnem: yeah i got that far with the unlock animations...guess the answer to my question lies in the difference between TW and Sense. thanks for the help!

Lock screen

Can you change the lock screen wallpaper? On the evo 4G sense 3.0 port I didn't see an option for that.

I'm not sure about the 3D, but if Myn's Synergy is any indication it's under personalize and then lock screen. You can't change the lockscreen wall paper per se, but you can change the different lock screens which have different wallpapers.

I'm just hoping to be able to change the background with the weather lock screen. That blue is kinda boring not to mention customization is huge to me.

I don't think you can. If I'm not mistaken, the background for the weather lock screen changes based on the time of day, your location, and the weather. It's technically part of that weather "widget" for the lock screen.
Sorry

S3 Lockscreen Customization (or using Ripple Effect Unlock in WidgetLocker)?

I absolutely love the ripple effect unlock on the S3 - But I kinda hate the lockscreen itself (bad quality image for the wallpaper, ugly clock, non-customized icons for shortcuts, etc...).
Does anyone have any ideas on how I could either customize the S3 lockscreen and use my own clock widgets and/or icons OR somehow get the ripple effect unlock over to my WidgetLocker screen...?
I'd probably just prefer to use the ripple unlock in WidgetLocker.

Not sure on this, widgetlocker is great, but I find it causes wakelocks which isn't helpful. I just wish there was a way to what shortcuts show on the stock lockscreen, and wish it showed todays calendar appointments. That would make it pretty close to perfect without dealing with widgetlockers battery drain issue.
Fwiw, I notice that widget locker constantly asks for your location in the permissions log... Not widget related as I had nothing on the screen just a slider. Guessing that is what causes the wakelock'ing

Awesome, thanks for that.... Now if we could only get Calendar appointments to display, maybe a dev will work it out. Although probably just use the AOKP / CM lockscreen if that's the case when the time comes.
Install water drops plus from the play store and choose whichever wallpaper you like to put under the water and you can use it with widget locker.. Maybe add a transparent slider for now also... That's the best thing I can think of

Disable automatic drops in settings so it only ripples on touch unless yu like it automatic.. Just play around with it..

Heh i sent the author of WidgetLocker an email the other day talking about this very thing....
I not only like the ripple effect but the slider itself being able to be used from ANYWHERE on the screen is nice.
Usually WidgetLocker is very good about adding features and fixing issues in the past.. the only reason I can see him not being able to do something like this would be due to restrictions with the OS itself.
As for the suggestion on waterdrops.. that's great if you don't already use a LiveWallpaper If you use a Livewallpaper like I do, you cannot have 2 of them running at once (one for the lockscreen and one for the normal phone operation).

It's Included in the rom touch and hold your screen until widgets appear
scroll through the widgets and you will see it...
if you don't see it try Reflashing The Boot.img

It's available only when you choose Sense Full in installation.
Removed the current weather clock widget, re-add the widget:
long press on the blank area (after you removed the widget), under widgets choose Clock (HTC), you should see five pages of clock style, the weather clock 4x1 in the 5th pages (see attached)
Edit: I notice the 4x1 clock widget is too high on the screen... will fix this next week hopefully.

Just updated to RC3, again the widget is missing. When i try to add a widget, and choose which widgets should be displayed there is only one group left from HTC (Settings). Can i reinstakll the others again?

Is there a way to make any widget persistent?

I use the DuckDuckGo widget for my searches as opposed to Google and would really love to be able to make it persistent like the Google search bar can be. I'm using Nova at the moment and it allows me to set Google as persistent if I want but it doesn't allow just any widget to be persistent, only the Google search.
If there are other launchers out there that show persistent widgets of your choosing please do tell me, if not if there is a way to make it happen is love to know!

i m also looking for such feature...
Why not just add the widget to the top of every page? It's not as nice, but I don't think there are launchers that support that since it's not nearly as popular

Well the reason I don't do that is because it doesn't look right, for some reason making the widget persistent doesn't look the same as adding a widget to every page. I don't know how to really explain it. Try using a fullscreen widget like Business Calendars 5x5 widget, and stretch it to whatever you have your grid set to, and then enable the persistent search bar. Take a screenshot and then get rid of the persistent search bar and just add one by hand and take a screenshot. They look different, almost like the persistent search bar doesnt take up the phone width of the grid like a regular widget does.
Also persistent widgets dont move the other things on your homescreens doen as far as having to take up another grid does.
Ive seen Overlay but that doesnt really do what i am trying to do, it just allows a floating widget over your screen and floats it on top of what is already there. I am looking for either a launcher or a mod that allows me to change which widget I use as the persistent widget.
