Prime with generic mouse - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

I can't get my transformer prime to work with a generic ebay wireless mouse. It works fine in windows, shows up in device manager as HID-compliant mouse. But in the transformer prime I get no input. The same happens to a wired GE mouse. But logitech mice work fine, I tried a wired G5 and a wireless mini mouse my friend was using with his laptop before.
Also, with the USB Host Controller app it's detected as SINO WEALTH SINO WEALTH
Btw, this isn't the only time I'm having trouble with the usb. I have a 32gb flash drive that won't mount when plugged in, while my other flash drives work fine. But when I test a friend's drive too, sometimes it won't work. I somehow got the 32gb drive working once when playing around with some usb apps from the market, but after disconnecting I couldn't do it again.

Never had a problem connecting a mouse to my prime dock and using it, used lots of different mice however most of my mice are logitec (like the brand, good CS keeps me coming back)
Its my experience with knockoff ebay perifials that they use firmware that "just barely works" with windows and has very limited compatability. Every mouse i have bought from a store has worked, no problem... Perhaps when you buy your next mouse you can take your prime with you to check compatability
Aside from that not sure what to tell you. The prime has generic USB drivers, you can try finding a driver for your mouse for linux and porting it over but since its a ebay special i dont think thats going to work.
Only other thing i can think of is buy a new mouse and make sure it works before handing over the money
Good luck! Let us know if you find a fix!

I also tried a wired GE mouse. This one. Neither work, but they do get detected from the USB Host App. It's weird that even some flash drives do not work. I'll see what I can do.

I'm using wireless Logitech G700 and it's perfect!
works without issue, scroll wheel, extra buttons, just as on Windows.
The only issue I have with it is that on Windows I was able to remove the "acceleration" of the mouse pointer speed, but on Android there is no such option.

[Q] Has anyone tested the G-Tab with a Bluetooth Mouse?

Just wondering.
I'm wondering how and why you could or would use a mouse on a touchscreen device without a pointer...
I have a BT mouse I got from Woot! awhile back, and it doesn't work. It will see it, but expects a code to pair with it. I've tried the usual combos and none worked, but on Windows 7 or MacOS they pair with it without any codes.

Some of the versions do have a mouse pointer once you have the mouse connected. I think Zpad does. Have heard TnT does not.

I only have one BT mouse to test, and it's never worked on any mod I've used. So I don't have the metrics to know if TnT would work with any BT mouse.
Well I just tried to plug in a usb mouse in TnT-Lite 2.1.1 an no cursor appeared. I am personally fine with the touch interface but it is a shame it was not detected right away.
Usb or Bluetooth Mouse support and Bluetooth Tethering are the last things that I want to get out of the gTablet... then I will be as pleased with the device as I can possibly be.
Gamestring + gtab + wireless mouse and keyboard = portable bliss
Last night I tested usb keyboard (HP OEM), usb mouse (Logitech), bt mouse (Logitech) with TnT Lite 2.20.
The keyboard was recognized right away and from a few seconds of testing, seems like all the keys that should work work.
Nothing noticable happens when you plug in a usb mouse. I have feeling TnT just doesn't have the drivers to recognize any mouse.
BT mouse pairs when I use the passkey '0000' and the gTab reports back as paired but not connected. I confirmed with my Logitech user manuel that the passkey if needed is indeed '0000' and trying another code causes the mouse to not connect at all. I haven't found a way to get it connected. I have the same feeling its because there are no mouse drivers in the TnT framework.
If you're looking to get a mouse to work in TnT Lite, I think we will have to ask Mr. Roebeet for some more magic.
Can the mouse services be ripped out of the Zpad ROM and put in the TNTLite ROM?
Running CM 6.1b4 here and I plugged in a Microsoft BT Mouse w/ a USB adapter and the cursor popped up right away and actually worked. I was unable to find it when I scanned for devices w/ the gTab's bluetooth, so you'd be stuck w/ a tiny dongle, but at least it's wireless. Here's a quick vid I made on the droid of it working,

Got mine working like a champ! I have the Logitech Dinovo mini key board. I had to use the dongle that comes with it though . I would get the same paired but not connected msg without the dongle. Put in the dongle and boom, works flawlessly. All I need now is the HDMI kit so I can lay in the bed and use this thing as a mini HTPC when I travel. Thanks guys!

[Q] HD dock and mouse/keyboard

Got a quick question for those of you with the HD dock. Are you running dual USB devices for you mouse and keyboard, do wireless usb devices work for the dock sans drivers, or has anyone found a way to pair dual devices to have a bluetooth mouse and keyboard functional?
My dilemma is where I am planning on putting my dock, it's going to be really difficult to use wired devices because the dock is going to be located physically behind me. I need to find a way to go as wireless as possible so but at the store we were only able to pair up one bluetooth device at a time. Has anyone found a work around for that?

I've tried a couple of wireless keyboard/mouse combos plugged into the dock and neither worked. I'm currently using a powered usb hub plugged into the dock with a Logitec keyboard and mouse plugged into the hub. Works great.

Damn... That's what I was afraid of. My issue is I'm placing the dock on my nightstand located next to my bed for charging purposes. What's throwing me off is in one of the videos demoing the dock it shows them using both a wireless keyboard and mouse. It's gotta be possible, but I have no clue how. At the store we couldn't pair up two seperate bluetooth devices at the same time.
May have found a solution to my problem. At a local Compusa I found a bluetooth keyboard and trackpad in one. I'll take it to work and test it out... If it works, I'll report back.
My Logitech Wireless Desktop (USB Unifying receiver) worked fine, out of the box - keyboard and mouse.
There shouldnt be any reason that your generic wireless device/receiver combos dont work since they're simply a transmitter/receiver pair, your problem is likely with the lack of adequate power supplied by the dock. Theres no way that power supply puts out enough to power the phone as well as the USB ports so thats probably why the powered USB hub mentioned above solves everything.

[Q] USB xbox controller via multimedia dock?

so i have the multimedia dock, and unlike most other phones the atrix has USB host support, hence why we can plug in stuff like usb drives with fat32 partitions. However i've tried connecting a walmart xbox controller via usb to the multimedia dock since I need a USB port to plug into and nothing. No response, ie no buttons work no nothing.
I've also plugged in random keyboard like dell, and they work fine, hell even wireless mice over usb work fine, and provide a cursor on the home screen.
I'm mostly starting this topic because with the new Onlive system they have their own controler and I don't see what i'm missing.
Do I really need to buy a ps2 controller and connect via BT and do i need special software and can i use it like a mouse?

you can plug a ps3 controller in with the usb cable and use this app from the market.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.dancingpixelstudios.sixaxiscontroller&hl=en
or you can also use a wii controller.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.mercury.inputmethod.wpad&feature=related_apps
Both are Bluetooth compatable. And there's an app that connects them to the atrix

What if you have a wireless xbox 360 controller, the wireless base, and a micro usb to usb a female cord to plug it all in. I get no detection. Any fix?
thanks
There is no USB driver for the Xbox 360 controller in the Atrix. In order to support it, someone needs to develop a USB driver for the Android platform for the Xbox 360 controller.
an xbox 360 wireless receiver could be connected to any device. we just need drivers. if linux drivers exist they "could" be ported.

How do they work on android tablets. There are quite a lot of videos of android tabs connecting with the xbox 360 sensor.
thanks
The Atrix needs power incoming through the USB port to enable host-mode (at least, in the stock roms; I've heard it said that this might not be necessary in android 3.0 and newer, but I have no idea.)
What this means is that nothing you plug in will work unless going through one of the docks or via an externally powered USB hub that also sends voltage back upstream. If you want to test this, try plugging in a flash drive.
(EDIT: This is directed to 1chris89, not OP, sorry.)

I've seen u have to bridge and solder the pins on the hub to get it to work? I have a 4 port usb 1.1 hub I could test it on. Otherwise is a ps3 blue tooth controller the most ideal way to use a controller on our phones?
thanks
Well, there is actually a really cheaply made hub on Dealextreme.com that does this by accident, which is what I used before I got my laptop dock.
Here's the thread on it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=997187
I use both the Wiimote and a PS3 controller on mine; it just depends on which games I'm playing.
The Wiimote is easier to set up (and there are a few free apps that work just fine) while the Sixaxis Controller app is paid, and requires configuring the controller on your computer first (manually setting your phone's bluetooth address to the controller).
SOLUTION
I have a true solution to this problem. An Ice Cream Sandwich should do the trick; the tablets you guys have seen using xbox 360 controllers are honeycomb, an os with baked in game controller support since I believe 3.1
We have a solution though in the form of convergence. 4.00 being both honeycomb and an evolution of 2.3. Try this again with a wireless controller adaptor plugged in and running CM9!!! Should have native support...

i flashed to cm9, plugged it into my laptop dock and plugged in my 360 wireless receiver and its a no-go. the receiver just keeps blinking like it did on cm7. lets hear some other suggestions, im ready to try anything
solution
The only solution to this is HD multimedia dock + Xbox controller in usb + xpad.ko in system libs ( we need one compiled for kernel being used) . if anyone can attempt compiling of this module for android 4.2.1 many people shall appreciate it. SGS3 already have this module compiled so it is possible to port over

USB (wired) mouse.

Hi guys, I'm probably getting this tablet soon, so I'd really love to know if someone has managed to get a common wired USB mouse to work with it, and if so how it actually performs (responsiveness, lag etc). I have a Logitech G5 gaming mouse, and I think it would be pretty neat to be able to use it at its fullest with this device, for browsing and whatnot, and maybe also for gaming, like for playing FPS games like Modern Combat 3, together with the keyboard dock. I'm not sure about this becase it has pretty high dpi, but if it actually worked at say at least 1500 dpi it would be really awesome. Any experience with this kind of usage? Please let me know
Well, a wireless mouse with a USB dongle works fine with it, so I assume a wired mouse would work as well.
Hi, It works great, no problem with it.

Hi,
Could you tell me which wireless mouse with USB dongle works with this tablet? I have an old micro innovations wireless keyboard and mouse. This doesn't work when I plugin using the Asus USB dongle. It works fine with the PC.
Thanks
My Anywhere Mouse MX works fine with it, but what do you mean by "Asus USB dongle"? Your mouse will only work with its own dongle plugged into the USB socket on the tablet's dock.
Just plugged in my Logitech VX Nano mouse last night into my keyboard dock. Worked like a charm. LogMeIn even recognized the right-click as a right-click instead of Back or Menu.
i've got some lg crapper- works great.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I don't have the dock. I am plugging in my wireless mouse/keyboard dongle into the tablet directly using ASUS USB converter not the dock. If I plugin a wired mouse into the USB adapter it works. But not the wireless one. I was wondering if any wireless one work because the tablet would need the driver like in windows PC.
Hey guys can someone confirm if this will work in FPS games like modern combat?
- TF300T Dock + usb mouse
or
- wireless keyboard and mouse
If this is working how do you map keys?
Thanks!
I've got Logitech G500 and I want to say this: it rocks baby !!!
could anyone play mc3 or mc4 with dock and mouse !?

[TIP] Some cordless mouse and keyboards(BT) work on Prime with USB from dock.......

I've been trying some mouse and keyboard devices that i have on my prime via the USB on the dock. This because i want to hook up the prime to my flatscreen with the HDMI out, and use a cordless mouse or a keyboard as remote. I was surprised to see that they are working well. So i thought why not share the info. My Prime is on stock rom. And no i'm not an employee of Logitech
Logitech wireless mouse M325, works with the USB unifying nano receiver
Logitech MX Air Rechargeable Cordless Air Mouse, works with the (not so nano) USB receiver
Logitech diNovo Miniā„¢ keyboard, works on bluetooth connection not with USB receiver
Oh Wow! This is great! Someone finally tried it! The rest of us were afraid our Primes would EXPLODE if we put anything in the USB slot! AND you got stuff to connect to the bluetooth!?!? BAZINGA! This is amazing!
No seriously.... Where you been bro? This is nothing new. Please read the stickies before you post. I don't mean to flame, but when stuff like this is posted in a forum that has been going for so long by people that really don't read before they post, someones gotta say something... Dang.
I just use my bluetooth Logitech ps3 keyboard It has a touchpad built in which makes it perfect for a media pc.

The Logitech AnywhereMX mouse with its nano receiver works great as well
Been trying to get my apple wireless mouse to work with tf201.it can pair up but nothing appears on the screen. I'm on the most recent stock rom 4.1.1.
Anyone here has any tips?
