Hi, guys,
I've a S-Off device, and I've tried the new ICS Virtuous Shooter 3.0.0,
I've read that there are problem with cdma version to rollback radio version,
is it applies to gsm devices ? there are some howto around ?
tnx

If everything is working, I'd leave it.

unfortunately the radio has random issues,
sometimes buzzs in call, no audio.
I trusted in RUU before upgrade... but i don't know if it revert the phone to previous state

There should be a thread on radios in the development section, not really sure which one would be best for you but maybe someone there can help if you can't figure it out.

Thank you friends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looks like you may be still running an MR1 radio. Did you change radios when changing ROMs? Most ROMs in active development need MR2.x radios from everything i'm reading online.
You need to update the radio through bootloader since you updated to a newer rom. The original radio will get no service with the newer roms.
http://dougpiston.com/?page_id=126
Just dl MR2 and flash through bootloader

[Q] Rooting and making backup

Hi there,
I've been using symbian for 2 years, did flashing and custom CFW and so on... Not a newbie in this. Actually just finished university in Europe and got a degree of Computer engineer and programmer.
Last week I bought an HTC Evo 3D, rly happy about it just want to use it to the max.
I want to root it for some games and apps but know know how and what ROM and ware to get it.
I have a 2 year warranty and I don't want to lose it.
I need information on rooting. How to backup stock ROM so I can restore it to keep my warranty just in case something happens. Which ROM to choose for my needs and how to do it.
Any other knowledgeable info would be great.
Spill me everything you know about this phone and for this phone.
Thank you for your time
NOTE: I live in Lithuania WiFi is not widely spread and free. 3G net is not an option, too expensive.
I use USB net on phone and sometimes WiFi at coffee shops or work.
We use SIM cards I think its GSM type not rly sure never cared.
I want to root it for some games and apps but know know how and what ROM and ware to get it.

If you had read the MANY guides on here, you would know that your hboot version determines what method used to root. ROMS are obviously found in the ROM (dev) section.

Well what are your needs in a rom? And again, there are hundreds of guides on how to flash roms, just read.
Well I want the latest ICS but be same as original HTC evo 3D software. I just want the super user so I can do everything I want nothing to special.
Some links would be great, still don't know half of the short forms and what they mean.

you want to benefit from your phone you need to s-off(Void the Warranty) and know how to flash a custom ROM I would suggest leedroid GB ROM is the best ROM Yet even if it's ginger bread try it

There are stickies in every subforum. Please read all of those first, and then if you have any questions, ask. I can almost guarantee you those threads will get you going, that's what they are there for.
Make a naid back up of the stock Rom then if some thing happens restore to that stock Rom then unroot and relock the bootloader
Sent from my PG86100 using xda app-developers app
Thanks, if only I knew how to do any of that... hundreds of guides and no idea which one will work and what will it do :/
Totally lost in this... too many threads and guides and so on...
I need a stock 4.0.3 ICS root no additional stuff.
And a nice guide link how to backup original root and add this. pls help :/
Are you checking the stickies? The guides are all in there. Unless you tell us your hboot version, we can't provide you a link to a guide for that.
Stock roms are in the GSM Dev section.
Read few of them, still kinda afraid to brick my phone.
Where I live there is no sprint or other services like in htcdev.com so not sure what to pick.
My boot screen says this:
Code:
[COLOR="Magenta"]*** LOCKED ***[/COLOR]
[COLOR="SeaGreen"]SHOOTER_U PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.53.0007
eMMC-boot
May 22 2012,01:06:07[/COLOR]
So what can I do ? Pls post links...

[RADIO] HTC Eternity Radios

Here are the two available radios posted by other users. The radio "17.5006.08.27" has been reported to have issues with the US AT&T Titan so be warned.
You Flash at your own risk!! If your phone explodes and kills your entire family, that's on you.
RADIOS
17.5006
16.23
Once I find out how to extract them myself I'll post the others.
May I also add here that 17.5006.08.27 radio in general *may have* problems with Titan?
Once that was flashed, I am unable to get rid of that radio and thus, no other ROM boots on my phone any longer. Not even the one with radio 17 or stock!

This is strange, why just now this is happening considering we been using this radio version for a while since hspl became available with titan. Could it be that you got a bad flash from one of the radio v 17 that came with custom rom you flashed? Just on the weekend I flashed roms with radio v17 (WPV rom7.8 4.1) then tried nhatoa's 7.8 with radio v16 and now I'm back with WPV's v4.2 with radio17.
I think I might have had a bad flash with radio 17 then. I am not sure how to revert it though.

If everything all fail using normal flashing tool, it might pay to try a goldcard method to flash stock rom?

Yes, I was suggested that too earlier. I'm a little skeptical with goldcard as I've never taken that route.
I'm more curious in terms of what could have cause a bad flash where a radio cannot be changed at all?

Dont be skeptical ...Its an esay task .. I have done this a lot of times ... Once you have the cable all other staff its easy ...
Alot of things can go bad when you flash ... dont bother thinking about that ...

I'm sure you'll share your findings if ever you find out what've cause this issue with your phone and save us this trouble of "bricking" our phone. As to the goldcard method , you're rigght to be skeptical, initially it's a hit and miss but once you got the Y cable and micro sd card going it is really quite straightforward process. I have an ATT titan so the only way to flash custom from stock is by GC method and been doing this quite regularly (being a flashaholic)

Hi Do you perhaps know if this upgrade will come to us in South Africa as we also have AT&T HTC Titans (2x)? Zune says that no updates are available.
Otherwise can the experts please enable this upgrade via the CAB sender method?

Hello guys,

[Q] CID Compatibility [1.14.401.1]?

I have found the thread for 1.18, but have not been able to find the list of compatible regions with the:
RUU_PROTO_U_ICS_40A_HTC_Europe_1.14.401.1_Radio_10.18.40.05U_1.09.45.201_release_284072_signed.exe
RUU. Thank you in advance.
That RUU is for a pre-updated device. If you have installed the update, you won't be able to use that RUU.

I'm still definitely on 1.14. My question is whether I can use this RUU, or whether I should just use the 1.18 RUU directly (since I am 01_WWE, so compatible with the 1.18 for sure).
Thanks.

I actually made a compatibility thread for 1.18.401 RUU, and it's the same for 1.14.401 all you needed is to search. Check in the Index I made, the link is in my signature, there you have the link to the previous thread I mentioned.

Yes, I did find the index (several times in my search) yet the problem remains that I wasn't sure if I could apply the 1.18.401 RUU directly, even if I was currently on 1.14.xxx, and nowhere did it mention it (even though it does make sense, but I'd rather be sure, as most other people too, I'd think).

401 is the region code so if it's the same compatibility is the same. And i don't get your obsession on 1.14 cause when you install it your phone will immediately ask you to update your phone to 1.18, plus if you have already updated your phone to1.18 you most probably won't be able to run 1.14 RUU.

Which HBoot do I need?

I'm curious if I should flash a 2.04, 2.06 or ENG HBoot, I don't really know the difference.
Don't flash any of them. Considering you needed to ask this question I would suggest leaving it alone.
Thanks for the **** answer, that makes 3 straight topics asking for help where I get none. Forget asking for help from this place.

Can you post what you need or want to accomplish by flashing these hboot images? Asking whether you should flash them is too broad.I'd say flash 2.06 if you need to unlock. However if you are asking for stability, a lot of builds seem to still use 2.04.

Honestly it wasn't a **** answer. You don't need to flash a hboot. And if your asking about them and don't know what they do or what they are you definitely don't need to as it can mess your device up.

Hi,
Pretty sure hboot versions for the DNA are in the 1.3x.xxxx range and not the 2.0.x range. You should probably check your sources.
