[Q] Emulators: Visual Keys are Wonky? - Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0, 5.0

Does anyone know how to fix the A/B bug in GBA & other emulators?
I have a PS3 ctrl, but do not want to have to carry it around all the time, I was hoping I could stick with screen controls...

Some important questions about MDA1

Hello
I'm thinking about buying an MDA1 (MDA2 is too expensive for me ), and i have a few questions before I buy it.
1. How good is the D-Pad for gaming? Is there any problem with games on this device?
2. Under WM2003, can you adjust the backlight?
3. Which SD Card do you recommend?
That's all (probably for the 1st round ).
Thanks,
KTamas
The D pad is very small and not ideal for gaming, I have tried several pocket pc games and have usually had problems with them not running correctly. The screen is only adjustable for time out or on/off there is no control for intensity/brightness.
I think the Xda I D-pad is not good for gameing.
For example when I move to down, sometimes it take a down-left or down-right command.
Can't take precise commands with it.
Most of the games, you can't assign commands to the green and red buttons. You can't play pinball games, because the other two avaible free buttons (contact and calendar) on the top of the screen....
The D-pad is unuseable for pinball games..

DPAD

I just got a FUZE, and I must say it's a BIG step DOWN from my Tilt (Kaiser) as far as dpad is concerned. It is pretty much useless in games. Now I've done some digging online and found out that the whole surface of the pad is touch-sensitive and it actually only has 4 physical buttons, and the rest are determined by the position of your finger on the pad when you push the button. Only up and down have dedicated physical keys. Now my question is can we have only a 4-directional Dpad somehow by disabling the touch-sensitive part of the Dpad? I wouldn't mind loosing the home, back and the call keys if I have a solid 4 directional pad that doesn't freeze and lock up and act weird. Any way to replace the Dpad driver in the ROM with something from the Tilt? Or a physical modification to cut the connection to the touch-sensitive part?
Get VolDPad from the hacking forum and quit whining.

Brilliant! Thanks. DredSensor is exactly what I had in mind. However, I still have the issue of some weird buffer overflow or something - if I play more than 5-10 min. the dpad left and right (as well as all the other emulated keys - home, back, call...) lock up and only up an down on the dpad work. Has anyone tried porting or making a driver that disables the idiotic touch interface for good? That'd be one major fix for the Touch Pro.

[Q}True keyboard and mouse support for FPS/RPG

So I just bought a new BT keyboard and after modifying keylayout works like a charm
http://www.ggmm.hk/product/lookproduct-340.htm
Since I had the new keyboard a figured I'd pair my BT mouse up for good measure, and then had an idea....
#1
I loaded up dungeon hunter 2 switched to tap to control and it was so close to a point and click RPG it blew my mind. It made the game 3x as good. The only problem was that I had to click on the attack button to attack enemies(there is no 'tap enemy to attack like DH1), could not use a keyboard key or click with my mouse.
Is there a way to create keyboard shortcuts for certain touchscreen coordinates being tapped?
#2
I also did the next natural thing and loaded up adosbox. I got som Civ running but the mouse emulation only makes the "mouse" in DOS click when I click. It doesnt move the virtual mouse to the position of the android pointer and then click to emulate a tap. Does anyone know a way arounds this. I have tried all the dosbox settings.
aDosbox has no problem playing games with just the keyboard but its the mouse that is the problem
Imagine Civ and the like with perfect mouse emulation! This would also apply to FPS (like modern combat etc) which i can only get to emulate tap when click, cannot lock to pointer position to allow a freelook using mouse.
#3
And lastly does anyone know of any games already out there (rpg, rts, fps) which already respond to keyboard/mouse input the way games should (wasd+freelook w/mouse, or rts/rpg with point and click and hotkeys)
This obviously excludes ***droid emulators and the like which are great with keyboard but don't really need the mouse.
If anyone has any workarounds or ideas please let me know!
I'm sure this would be so useful for everyone!
Because so far only dungeon hunter 1 is decently playable with mouse.
Thanks,
Endor
I was just testing Nova2 on my Photon 4g on a Lapdock 100 in Mirror mode only without Webtop launching. I think having any other launcher or app that modifies the Moto lockscreen will keep the full Webtop from launching but still allow mirror mode. My image is displayed pixel per pixel on this 10" lapdock so it doesn't zoom to fill the entire physical screen yet still looks good and much bigger.
Using the mouse to grab screen points was just like mouse freelook. This would be a seriously satifying FPS time killer on this bigger screen if it fully worked with a mouse and keyboard. Touch screen fps is fun for a bit but lacking the real feel that it could be. Moto may be missing the boat on the potential of the Lapdock market as a great mobile gaming platform. Make a dedicated controller to sell along with built in touch screen coordinates to keyboard setup with a center mouse lock for freelook. Something usable on any game instead of only dedicated software like the one Tegra Zone game Riptide GP that does work with SixAxis app. I will keep searching but like the OP stated there is great potential for true M/KB control.

Dead Space controlls questions

I have some Dead Space controlls questions...
First of all, how do you "disarm"? If I am holding the gun, and want to open something, I always end up shooting it and wasting ammo.
How do I change weapons? For example, I walked up to a power pack and needed to use the saw on it. If I hit the button on the top right of the screen, it only shows the gun. Somehow, I managed to switch to the saw, but I don't know how...
I feel like I am missing something basic here. Any help would be appreciated!
Sent from my CM7 HP Touchpad
i wasnt gonna answer cuz you can find this in the help in-game, but to put your gun away, tap the left side twice to 180-degree turn, or click the top right button and the nav indicator.
or you just tap the green circle to open, and nothing else, thats what i do
PLEASE READ THE IN GAME HELP! it has all teh controls and instructions there
Well your sort of being unhelpful. For some reason on the touchpad disarm does not work. Walking forward to running the character should plus his weapon downside there must be a controller problem due to the screen size/aspect ratio.
i found dead space to be unplayable on touchpad. maybe the touchscreen drivers aren't as accurate as they are on some other android devices. my character turns around a lot for no reason while I'm trying to walk around. play on the g2 though. good game. going to try to map ps3 controller to touchscreen for dead space on TP.
Maybe that 16:9 status bar mod works but I'm waiting for a option to toggle that as having that ugly bar is a mono.
I had the same problem
sadly, I gave up and moved on

Android Headunit or mirrorlink? what's a good option

Hello, I have a 2014 WRX hatch and I'm not happy with the OEM headunit's SQ. I do like the steering wheel controls and bluetooth so I'd like to find a replacement and keep these features. Having an android OS headunit is quite appealing especially if I could run Sygic navigation and Torque Pro.
Must have:
-bluetooth - would like to be able to use the pickup/hangup buttons on my steering wheel
-ability to keep steering wheel controls (I believe most will allow for this with an adapter)
- ability to keep the aux input
- ability to add an external amp and/or powered sub (probably will not happen right away)
Would like, but may not be a deal breaker depending on price
- GPS or the ability to mirror my phone/tablet screen
- android OS or ability to mirror torque app (not a deal breaker)
- would be nice to add a backup camera
I was wondering if any of the eBay android headunits are any good? I looked at the appradio 3 and astroid smart. Both seem to fit my requirements for the most part, but I'm wondering if there is a better option or something just as good for less money.
I'm curious about this as well... I've seen a few options from JVC, Alpine, Sony, and of course Pioneer AppRadio. The AR seems the most-supported.
