Initial Release
InstallThere is a great guide on how to flash a custom ROM here: http://www.freeyourandroid.com/guide/how_to_flash_htc_evo
If you're S-ON, make sure you follow the instructions from post #3.
This ROM uses Aroma Installer which uses Touch Screen controls. To use touch screen, it is recommended to install 4EXT Recovery using the unstructions in post #3.
If you choose to install the ROM without a touch enabled recovery, you can navigate the install using Volume Up/Down and select any options using the camera shutter button.
If coming from another Sense 3.6 ROM, wiping data should not be necessary.
The install formats system, cache, etc. so there is no need for super wipe scripts.
If coming from a Sense 3.0 ROM (or other version), please backup your apps using Titanium Backup and perform a nandroid backup. While flashing the ROM, make sure you wipe data which can be performed during the install
Optional: You can flash the latest firmware by following this post using this firmware: PG86IMG.zip
Download the ZIP file to your SD card
Reboot into recovery and "Install ZIP from SD Card". Follow the Aroma Installer wizard
Reboot
Issues
If your WiFi isn't working, install WiFix
You may run into a problem with missing AOSP Notifications and/or Settings apps. To fix it, reinstall the ROM without AOSP Notifications and Settings, boot up the phone, then reinstall the ROM with AOSP Notifications and/or Settings and it should work.

Instructions
S-ON Users
If your phone is S-ON, you'll need to perform an extra step before or after flashing the ROM. Without flashing the kernel manually, your phone will not boot. This extra step can be automatically performed if you have 4EXT Recovery Touch v1.0.0.5 RC1 or newer installed.
Installing 4EXT Recovery Touch (You must be able to boot into Android):
Install the 4EXT Recovery Updater while in Android (ie. before flashing this ROM)
Start the 4EXT Recovery app and select "Online install | upgrade"
Follow the normal prompts
Click "Yes" to "connect to 4ext.net to get new data"
When it detects EVO 3D GSM, press "Yes"
Select the top version and acknowledge the prompts and click the "Install" button
The recovery should now download and flash
Once flashed, click "Yes" when asked if your device is S-ON
Click Yes to set the timezone and you're all set to flash the ROM
Reboot into Recovery and flash the ROM
Ensuring 4EXT SmartFlash is enabled:
Boot into 4EXT Recovery 1.0.0.5 RC1 or newer
Select "Tools"
Scroll to the bottom. If it says "enable 4EXT SmartFlash", select it. Otherwise, it's already enabled.
If you have already flashed the ROM and it won't boot, you can perform the 4EXT Recovery method by either restoring your previous ROM from nandroid backup or flash a ROM you have already confirmed to be working. You should now be able to install the 4EXT Recovery using the steps above.
Otherwise, you'll need to flash the kernel manually. To do this, you need to install the fastboot drivers using the "Installing Fastboot and ADB" instructions below and run a command from your computer. These instructions are designed for Windows:
Flashing the kernel using fastboot:
Reboot your phone into "fastboot" mode using the "Booting into Fastboot Mode" instructions
Connect the phone to the computer using the USB cable
Download this kernel to a folder on your computer (eg: c:\boot.img)
Flash the kernel using the command: "fastboot flash boot c:\boot.img"
Reboot your phone with the command "fastboot reboot"
Installing Fastboot and ADB
Download and extract the Fastboot and ADB tools to a folder of your choice
Reboot your phone into "fastboot" mode using the "Booting into Fastboot Mode" instructions
Connect the phone to the computer using the USB cable
Open a Command Prompt and switch to the folder where the fastboot and adb tools are installed (eg. "cd c:\fastboot")
Type "fastboot devices" - it should display something like "HTXXXXXXXXX fastboot"
If it doesn't, you'll need to download and install these fastboot drivers. Once installed, disconnect and reconnect your phone to the computer
The drivers should now be installed.
Booting into Fastboot Mode:
There are several ways to reboot into bootloader mode:
From rooted Android, install the application Quick Boot to easily reboot into Bootloader
In the Recovery, there is usually an option to reboot to bootloader mode. 4EXT has this option under the "Power" menu option
From Android or Recovery, you can reboot into bootloader using "adb reboot bootloader"
By using the "Power" and "Volume Down" button combinations. More info here.
Once you're in bootloader mode, select "Fastboot" with the Volume Up/Down and Power to select.
Upgrading the firmware/radio (S-OFF users only):
WARNING: Flashing the new firmware will wipe your data (your apps and settings).
To preserve your data, you should perform a nandroid backup of data using Recovery (or full) before flashing the firmware and restore your data afterwards.
To backup your data using 4EXT Recovery:
Boot into recovery
Select "Backup | Restore"
Select "Advanced Backup"
Select "Data" (the process takes a few minutes)
To restore your data using 4EXT Recovery:
Boot into recovery
Select "Backup | Restore"
Select "Advanced Restore"
Select "Data"
Select "Restore from Advanced Backup"
Select your backup (usually the last one)
Upgrading the firmware:
Copy the new firmware file (PG86IMG.ZIP from the Downloads section in post #1) to the root of your SD card (eg. /sdcard/PG86IMG.ZIP)
Reboot into Bootloader mode using the "Booting into Fastboot mode" instructions above
Your SD card will be scanned for the update
When prompted, select "Yes" to update using Volume Up
Once the process completes, reboot the phone
If wanting to boot into recovery, remove the SD card from your phone, mount it on your computer and delete PG86IMG.ZIP from the card

Last one...

Gonna try it now
Edit1:
Smooth, very responsive touchscreen, everything good ics themed except for ONE.thing:
If i choose something (my favourite forum in tapatalk or the colour of a toogle in aokp statusbar if its enabled e.g.) the forum is marked green. This should also be blue like the blue from the aopk statusbar dude to get the full ics feeling

Flashing. Feedback tomorrow.
The one mod I will try on top of this is the circle battery mod - its the best battery indicator for my 50+ eyes...

download now, will update soon

Sweet install. So far a pretty wicked ics. The quick menu is missing the "rotate on/off" button.

Hi Turge,
I flashed over the top of Virtuous Shooter v.3.0.2 without a wipe and found I didn't have any fonts on the homescreen for any of the widgets or apps, so I super wiped and made a fresh install with all the sense options and still no fonts on any of the homescreens.
Is there an easy fix for this?

Good and bad news.
Bad news is you cannot flash the firmware ( PG86IMG ) if you're S-on.
Good news is you can flash the rom without having to install the firmware.

Should work on the x920e, just have to change the updater-script file that looks for the DNA before installing. I've done it using J Butterfly Rom's so should work the same for this Rom.
For those brave souls on the x920e, this is what you would need to do (thanks SharpISO3):
open up the ROM, navigate to the META-INF/com/google/android/ folder. Inside that folder, you'll see the updater-script file. Extract it to some folder on your computer. Open the updater-script file, it's probably best to use Notepad++.
With that file open, find the lines assert(getprop("ro.product.device") == "dlxj" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "dlxj"); - it's near the top. You can either replace the 'dlxj' values with the x920e values, or just delete the line entirely. Once that's done, save the file, then put the file back into the ROM, replacing what's inside.
After that, try flashing.
Can i flash Cubed Write/System Kernel?
EDIT:
I flash the Cubed Stock Write to System Kernel, works fine,I delete what I do not need.

I can not get tmobile apn settings to go in. I go and save them and then it just says there is no sim card in the device even though i have signal. Calls and text work but no data unless on wifi. I would love to run this rom but no data on tmobile
First, I'm using HTC DNA (Verizon).
Is there any one using AT&T sim card? I did do the full wipe of data, cache, system. Actually, i also accidentally deleted my sdcard partition. Anyway, when booting into this ROM, I did get the full bar of AT&T signal. However, there are couple problems.
1. During the setup process, there is not English (United States). So, I do use English (United Kingdom) to continue.
2. This is more serious problem. Even getting the AT&T signal, when I went to the APN settings, it keeps saying no SIM is detected. I tried to add a new APN (since none existed at all) to set up the mobile network. Upon saving, it still showed me "No SIM is detected" and not saving the APN I just entered.
3. Not sure if instruction is missing a step. I don't think the installation via CWM or TWRP flash the boot.img. I have to extract it out of zip and flash via fastboot. Is this correct?
Thanks.

I am from Austria and I also have the DNA is mine operator "3", I installed Rom and for me the operator settings are set automatically, so I had not set the APN itself.
Because of the language I do not know, for me it was German / Austria to choose
Yes you need to flash the Boot.img via fastboot flash boot boot.img
So far everything is running great umd I noticed nothing is bad, this is a very good Rom
But I flashed the Stock Cubed write to system kernel with the modules of course
I hope you understand my bad Englisch language.

You must be familiar with using terminal and know how to cd to the platform-tools folder of the Android SDK's install directory.
1. Open the Rom zip with an archive tool such as 7zip and extract the boot.img from it.
2. Place the boot.img into the platform-tools folder of the Android SDK's install directory.
3. Put the Rom and GAPPS on the root of your SD Card
4. Compare MD5 Sum
Windows: MD5 Calculator
LINUX: Open Terminal and type: md5sum [path to the rom on your sd card]
Mac: Open a terminal and type: md5 [path to the rom on your sd card]
5. Reboot to Recovery
6. Scroll down and select "Wipe"
7. Wipe the following:
Wipe ALL data/factory reset x2
Wipe /data x2
Wipe /cache x2
Wipe Dalvik-cache x3
Wipe /boot x2
Wipe /system x3
Optionally wipe:
Wipe battery stats
Wipe rotate settings
Click to collapse
8. Scroll to and press return
9. Install Rom and gapps (in that order) from SD Card
10. FOR GSM USERS ONLY - After flashing the ROM and GAPPS, re-wipe /data and then flash the GSM patch
11. Return to the main menu of the recovery and select "Developer Menu".
12. Select "Reboot to bootloader
13. Ensure your device is connected to your computer and that your device is now in fastboot mode. This is a white screen and it says fastboot on it.
14. Open a Terminal (OSX or Linux) or CMD window (Windows) and cd to the platform-tools directory of the Android SDK's install directory.
15. Issue this command to flash the boot.img we placed in the platform-tools folder earlier:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
16. Watch the output of the terminal, it should say something like "sent successfully".
17. Finally send this command:
Code:
fastboot reboot
This command reboots your device into Android. Wait for it to boot up and enjoy your new freshly installed CM10.1.
Note: If you are having issues connecting your device to your windows computer in fastboot, please insure the drivers are up to date by installing the latest version of HTC Sync for the Rezound.
[SIZE=+1]Q4: Where did the Developer options in settings go?[/SIZE]
Google/Android has hidden this feature in JB 4.2.1 and up. Follow these steps to re-enable the feature:
Go to settings > about phone. Tap Build Number 7 times. Tapping Build Number 7 times re-enables the Developer Options in settings.
[SIZE=+1]Q5: Where did the reboot menu go?[/SIZE]
In Android 4.2.2 this menu is hidden by default in CM10.1 and must be enabled.
Step 1: Enable Developer options using the method described in Q4.
Step 2: Go to Developer options and check the Advanced reboot box.
Step 3: Go to System settings > System > power menu. Insure the Reboot menu box is checked.

If your device is not using this firmware and HBOOT, its very simple to update. Just follow the guide HERE to get updated.
[SIZE=+1]Q7: Is this ROM GSM compatible?[/SIZE]
Yes. You must enter Mobile Networks and change preferred network list to GSM.
[SIZE=+1]Q8: Can you add in [insert name] mod?[/SIZE]
No. By default this ROM will remain bone stock without any modification. It is intended to be the purest form of CM on this forum for the Rezound. However, user created mod submissions are welcome and will be added to the third post (Mods section) if they fit the standards outlined for this ROM.
[SIZE=+1]Q9: When will such and such bug be fixed?[/SIZE]
Bug fixes are always being worked on. As the fixes are made available, they will be included in the next update version of this ROM.
[SIZE=+1]Q10: This ROM seems a little choppy. Is there anything I can do?[/SIZE]
Go into Developer options and disable hardware overlays.
NOTE: You must disable hardware overlays every time you reboot.
[SIZE=+1]Q11: I notice that Superuser isn't in the app drawer, where did it go?[/SIZE]
Recently CyanogenMod has merged in Koush's new Superuser configuration. Starting in build 20130310 you will now found all Superuser settings in the System settings under the Superuser tab.
[SIZE=+1]Q12: How do I zoom in the camera?[/SIZE]
In the camera app place two fingers on the screen and spread rapidly
[SIZE=+1]Q13: How can I optimize my battery life on this ROM?[/SIZE]
XDA member md303 has written a very helpful post describing their battery usage and what they have done to optimize it for better life. Check it out HERE
[SIZE=+1]Q14: Why isn't my WiFi working?[/SIZE]
You're most likely s-on then. You must flash the boot.img that comes with the .zip inside of fastboot.
If your question is not answered here or you need further help, go to the official Support Thread for this ROM. DO NOT post questions directly in this thread.

Hey, I don't know if anything has changed but last I recall Chad doesn't want to hear any bug reports at all. That was one of the rules when we were told we could post builds, so you might wanna edit the OP so people don't bug him about it. Unless he has specified otherwise, then by all means, feel free.

Requirements
Be S-OFF ( Security OFF ) and SuperCID
TWRP Recovery
Your HTC Max
What if I am S-ON?
Not A problem. But you will need to flash rom boot.img via FASTBOOT commands using Windows CMD
Be UNLOCKED!
Steps For S-OFF
Download ROM to SDCARD
Reboot to Recovery
Make a Nandroid Backup Before Flashing SD Rom
Once Nandroid was done, Make Full Wipe ( data/cache/dalvik )
Select Install, Go to Downloaded Rom location
Select Rom Zip, Install, yes, Sweep!!
Once installation is finished, Reboot ! Done.
Steps For S-On
Unlocked Device via HTCDEVWEB
Download this file Click Me
In your PC create a folder named "fastboot" path must be "C:/"
Extract into your PC the downloaded file, Inside "Fastboot" folder, Path "c:/fastboot"
Now extract from Rom.zip (Skydragon Max Rom) the file called "boot.img" and place it in your fastboot folder
Put your MAX into FASTBOOT USB MODE ( first hold down power button and then hold VOL down. You will see Button Lights blinking, Once MAX turns off ( between ten and twenty seconds ) release and re press same buttons but now at the same time...till you get bootloader Screen.
Once in Bootloader you will find info such as S-on or S-off, Menu with Fastboot, REcovery, Reboot etc.
Press Fastboot and connect MAX to your PC.
You will see Fastboot turns into FASTBOOT USB, now you are OK.
On your PC open Terminal in windows menu, press MENU in windows and in the search field, type CMD and Enter.
A black windows OS-like will open, you will need to do the following:
Using "cd.." means "cd dot dot", just in case, go back till get this path "C:/"
Once in "C:/" you will type "cd fastboot"
Now path turns into "C:/fastboot"
OK, now we need to type two commands
"fastboot erase cache" press enter
You will see a message like "sending...." at the end will say "ok"
Then last one
"fastboot flash boot boot.img" press enter.
Once it says "OK", we are good.
Time to unplug the Max, and press Hboot, well, the idea here is to get RECOVERY
Once in Recovery Mode, we install the Rom as normal, remember to full wipe manually!!! (data/cache/dalvik)
Select "INSTALL" sweep, when it is done, reboot!
Thats ALL

Hi, sorry for bar bug, will bring fix in few minutes
Fix for notification bar will be coming ASAP. If you are becoming a system UI problem, then reboot into recovery, perform a factory reset, then reboot. All should be good then. Until the Aroma is built into ROM, always perform a factory reset before flashing.
Here is Quick Fix

Ray will explain how to make it rite, its flashable zip

1. When will the next version be released?
Wrong question.
2. How do I install the rom?!
ViperMax Install Instructions
Download the the latest ViperOne full ROM zip from the download section
Place the file somewhere on your phone storage. Alternatively, if you have a USB OTG cable (I have this exact one), you can place the rom on a USB key (FAT32, NTFS are all supported).
Confirm the MD5 on the download page matches the MD5 of the file on your phone (ES File Explorer will show the MD5 of the file)
Reboot to TWRP Recovery
Backup current ROM if desired
Install ROM using TWRP and select wipe during aroma install if coming from another base
Reboot and Enjoy
If Aroma hangs up, reboot your recovery by holding vol-up and power until phone resets...then before it begins booting up, hold volume down, load into recovery and try again.
3. How do install OTA (Over-The-Air) updates?
Settings - About - Software updates
4. How do I restore my HEQS (Horizontal Enhanced Quick Settings)?
Try long pressing the date in the notification bar (Pressing the date for about 2 seconds will toggle between HEQS, Quick Launch bar and "nothing")
5. How do I make my device look like stock?
To disable some of the tweaks, do the following:
Disable HEQS (Horizontal Enhanced Quick Settings): Long press the date in the notification bar for about 2 seconds to toggle between modes until it's hidden
Disable Weather: Tweaks - Status Bar - Weather - Hide
Disable Header Text (cpu usage, etc.): Tweaks - Status Bar - Header - Information - Hide
Disable VEQS (Vertical Enhanced Quick Settings): Tweaks - Status Bar - Vertical quick settings - Disable
6. I have a problem with the ROM (FC, Boot Loop, apps closing automatically). How can I get my problem resolved?
First things first. Try wiping data and replicating the issue:
Rebooting into Recovery
Perform a Nandroid backup (of just Data if you wish)
Flash the ROM and select the option to "Wipe Data"
Try replicating the issue
If the problem persists, capture a logcat and send it to me.
To capture a logcat, If you have fastboot setup, you already have the drivers installed and probably already have adb.exe in the same folder as fastboot.exe:
Open the Command Prompt (run it as Administrator if UAC is enabled in Windows)
run adb logcat >c:\logcat.txt
To capture an FC, use the command adb shell "logcat | grep AndroidRuntime" >c:logcat.txt
Press Control-C to stop logging
Paste the contents of c:\logcat.txt into http://pastebin.com
Post the link here with the problem being experienced
If you still have the issue, check to see if it's been reported here and create a new incident if it already hasn't: http://venomroms.com/forums/project.php?projectid=14
7. Whats the md5 sum thing?
It ensures, that the rom is downloaded correctly and completly to avoid weird issues when installing/using the rom. Google for "md5 sum checker" and you should find what you need.
8. I found a theme or mod, will it work on this rom?
It's NOT recommended to use mod/themes that dont clearly state, that they are compatible with our rom. Thems/Mods always use framework files which will brake mods/stuff in our rom.
9. My question is not listed here, what to do?
Ensure you used the xda search, google and your brain before asking a question in the thread. If you cant find an answer yourself we will answer your question for sure! (-:
10. My media (pictures, music, etc.) is not listed in the Gallery/HTC Music/etc.
Try rescanning your SDCARD by using an app such as Media Scanner
11. What are the correct sizes for custom carrier logo?
Try 100x100
12. Developer mode is no longer listed in Settings. How do I enable it?
Go to Settings - About - Software information - More and click on the Build number 7 times. (For real! )
13. Insufficient storage error on app update/install in play store
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38899557&postcount=1
14. Where can I find themes for this ROM, besides the HUB?
You can find themes and information on how to make your own here.
15. Themes from the HUB make my icons too large, why?
The One Max uses different dimension icons. Venom Themers will be updating statusbar themes to accomidate this change over the next couple of days.

ViperMax Theme Thread can be found here.

If you're a GSM user, neither version is made for your phone, BUT, you can attempt to flash the verizon version. Make a nandroid backup before you do anything, and expect a few issues since neither rom is made with files from an international version. If you decide to flash it, and have issues, please don't mention them here, because this rom isn't intended to be flashed on non verizon/sprint versions of this device.
If you're a sprint or verizon user...the download links state which link is for which device

:FAQs:
Q: Wanna know about Aroma File manager?
Visit the aroma file manager main thread for more info---> Aroma file manager main thread
Aroma file manager is a touch file manager which can be used while in recovery. It has options for copy, paste, delete,
change permissions and many others. Also, it has a Terminal inside. So, if you forgot to give correct permissions to any
file you can do that directly from recovery. This file manager has got many themes, font, icons, etc. options and it's UI
is fully customizable.
Q: How to start this File manager in Recovery?
Rename the downloaded file to 'aromafm.zip'.
Create a folder 'aromafm' inside 'Clockworkmod' folder on your sdcard.
Now, move that 'aromafm.zip' file to the 'aromafm' folder.
We're ready now, when you want to use it in recovery just double tap anywhere OR go to "philz Settings" and select
"Aroma File Manager" and it will start up.
If you also want to browse /data, /system and /sd-ext then mount them in the "mounts & storage" option in recovery.
Q: Problems with Aroma file manager startup?
After doble-tapping OR selecting 'Aroma file Manager' option under 'philz settings' if recovery gives error: 'aromafm.zip
not found at /clockworkmod/aromafm' then, wait for 4-5 seconds and again select 'Aroma file Manager', because it maybe
busy mounting sdcard.
If still doesn't work, you've made mistakes in steps mentioned in first post, please do again carefully.
Q: Does your phone every time reboots to recovery?
This happens very rare when you flash the recovery using any bad app or via any wrong (not proper) method. What you can do
is:
-If you've made a backup of your current ROM then just restore only it's "boot" and then select 'reboot to system'.
OR
-You don't have a backup? Then just flash the ROM which you are using currently again and wipe 'dalvik-cache'. Then reboot
to system. Booting process will take time.

Yes. Sorry to say that this method (of terminal emulator) doesn't work on Stock ROMs.
What you can do is:
-Download my recovery.img
-Search google: Make an odin flashable .tar for recovery.img
-There are many tools out there. Get one and make an odin flashable tar.
-Now flash that tar using odin and enjoy the recovery.

Then there is another simple solution.
-Install any CWM recovery (through ODIN).
-Now download any zip file of cwm recovery (use madteam.co if you don't find at xda).
-Open the zip and replace the recovery.img inside with this (PhilZ Recovery) one.
-Now, flash this modified zip file with the current cwm recovery (which you installed using odin).

Did you pulled the battery to turn the device off when it hunged (at the "Android" screen)?
Have you tried booting up again?
Also, contact me via PM so that I will help you fix the issue. Let's not spam this thread .
UPDATE:
Updated PhilZ Touch sources to 6.40.1.
Fixed the misbehaviour of hardware keys in the new full version recovery.
In this version, I especially need feedback on:
-Hardkeys. Test all of them if they are correctly working or not.
-Change the 'Menu Background' to 'PhilZ Default' and 'Koush Default' (from PhilZ Settings > GUI options > Menu Background) and tell me if which of them is working. (ofcourse, reboot recovery after changing the background)

ALL HARDKEYS WOORK FINE!
I just have one doubt.
When i reset to "Koush default" it gave me a netted grey background..
Whereas :"Philz default" gave a complete black background..
Is this supposed to happen.
Maybe I am too stupid
But where is on goo.im the PhilzTouch for this little jewel called galaxy5?
