New Firefox Beta is smooth on the Note - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

Downloaded the new Firefox Beta today from the Play Store today.
It is much smoother and faster than Chrome Beta.

create general.user agent.override and set to desktop seems to work

For user agent, use the extension Phony.
Also, Firefox supports Flash now, this alone makes it worth trying for me. I always used the stock browser instead of Chrome for that reason.

Locked up my phone first time I went to a webpage. Uninstalled.

Yes its running very nice on my note/Perfection ROM.
Thanks for the notice. I cannot stand Chrome aonthis is a good alternative.

Played with it earlier today. Uninstalled it. After you Chrome nothing else is as good.

I installed it after finding out about it earlier in the day. I have refused to use Firefox on my mobile devices due to shortcomings and mostly, lack of flash support. So far, I am generally pleased with this new BETA version. However, Dolphin Browser HD will continue to be my favorite. I don't even think I bother to use mobile Chrome. I'm generally not a fan of Chrome for the computer, either.

well im on gingerbread so no chrome love
trying this beta out now

I tried it out too, real smooth and fast and the swiping to the left or right of the screen to bring up tabs or settings is imo better than Dolphin HD (and it seems smoother than Dolphin as well).
I'm waiting for more updates though because simple things like forcing desktop mode or some kind of incognito mode are buried within the settings, this is one of the biggest reasons I use boat browser as my main browser it lets you put whatever buttons you want at the bottom of your page. Hopefully they add some of this functionality as Firefox is really fast. (And no chrome love for me either as I'm on rooted stock GB).

Is swiping to left/right configurable? I don't see that working in the latest beta.

Anyone know how to get flash to work? I dont see an option. Thanks!

Maxthon > FF or Chrome

Maxthon is limited plz

I don't know for you guys, but on the jedi 4.2.2 rom, the official browser is pretty solid.
I'll still give that beta a try though.

Best Android Browser

Which one is the best in your opinion and why?
My personal favorite is Opera Mobile
Its fastest, best html5 compatibility, very easy to use, and most important unlimited bookmarks on start page
Aurora by mozilla. It's super smooth and has no download issues.
Dolphin browser

opera mini ..fits well with sprints low 3g speed
Chrome fer sherr, why? Because as Sprint has low downloading speeds it loads pages fast, same with Opera Mini

It looks promising but lacks a ton of features imo.
On my older ARMv6 phone I'd have said Dolphin Mini because it's fast and has a very streamlined usability imo.
On my EVO I'm happy with Opera Mobile, although it has some issues here and there.
I'm satisfied with miui stock browser but was a fan of dolphin hd/mini when I used Sense.

I'm an Opera man, desktop and mobile.
I'd say stock, used to flip back and forth from Dolphin (awesome browser) but kept on going back to the stock one.
But! Looks like Firefox FINALLY will be launching a browser fit enough to wear that brand in the near future. The Aurora build is amazing, super smooth and looks great, someone said it does not have enough features, it's still in test mode so hopefully when the beta comes out for it, it'll be more functional and loaded up with goodies
Chrome (for Android 4.0+ users) looks like another browser that'll come out good.
I've tried a few but end up always going back to Dolphin HD. Its quick,I like the layout and gestures plus I've personally never had any problems using it. I do use Firefox when other browsers (stock/dolphin) wont let me download certain files.
I think the best Google Chrome and Dolphin Browser HD

Dolphin HD #ftmfw
I like ICS stock browser and Chrome the best. Dolphin is good too, but one thing that always bothered me is that websites built for mobile phones that want you to swipe through screens don't work with Dolphin because you keep pulling up your side menus. If there is a setting or technique I'm missing there I'd like to know.
Boat browser for me. Can't believe someone hasn't mentioned that one yet :/

Chrome. It's seriously the best browser out there. It somehow manages to have every feature there is but look so simple and work so well.

+1, Chrome does it all. Its the fastest browser I've ever used for android and the syncing w/ my desktop chrome is epic

Stock internet browser x Chrome

Wich one is better and faster?
How about you install the Chrome browser, do a comparison and let us all know :silly:
I already did that. But I don´t know how to measure this. I want to decide which one will be the main browser.
I installed Dolphin HD browser yesterday and from my short time with it Ive decided its heaps better than the stock browser. Faster scrolling and page rendering and better access to bookmarks (swipe in from the side)
Maybe try that as well?

Dolphin HD
I use Dolphin HD and many do that. I think it is the best browser for ICS 2012 now a days.
I tested Chrome Beta vs Stock. Stock renders faster. Chrome crashed quite a bit too.
Chrome doesn't support FLASH so sad but it's faster (for me). Anyone tried Dolphin on flash videos or .swf?
Chrome was considerably slower at scrolling and loading, I went back to stock.

Chrome has a lots of potential but for me it stutters like hell. What do you guys think of the ICS+ browser? For me it's smooth as butter on the S3, so fast and flash loads in a fraction of a second. Only thing is when you double tap to zoom in an area it zooms somewhere else on the page but other than that it's flawless.

Chrome is a better desktop browser (in terms of speed if not plugin support), but the stock ICS browser destroys Chrome mobile right now. I haven't tried the other browsers because I have had no need to. I may have to try out Dolphin HD to compare to stock ICS browser though...
I use opera for fast browsing and stock for flash video etc

im a fan of google chrome so ide go for google chrome, its faster but theres not flash on it yet
the new firefox seems to work well
Does dolphin browser support flash? anyone tried it yet?
Have to bump this thread - thoughts on this topic now? Stock seems more fluid, still!

My Only Complaint So Far...

Why the hell do I have to zoom out every page in Chrome in order to actually see the whole thing (more specifically, this page)? This thing is 2,560 pixels wide! I'm pretty sure that's enough to fit a whole page horizontally. Even if there was just an option in Chrome to start completely zoomed out on the page, as there is in the stock AOSP browser I'd be happy. I got this thing because of the pixels; I shouldn't have to zoom out!
Seriously though everything else is great.
... BECAUSE PIXELS!
Chrome is a piece of crap (on this tablet at least), mine just freezes when I try to use it. Hopefully they will release an update soon. For now try a different browser.

yeah, chrome is a steaming pile of crap, on phones, on tablets, but not on PC.
it's stupid that the default android browser is so buggy.
it still consistently crashes when launching with a keyboard.

[App] Opera Beta - WOWSERS!, Best browser on the N10

Guys, forget all the old crappy Opera browsers. This new beta is no joke!.
hands down this is the best browser I have used yet on the android platform.
very polished, stable and FAST.
Check it out.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...=fallback&utm_campaign=fallback_via_opera_com
I actually ran into device not compatible when i tried to download from the nexus 10, I ended up installing manually.
I have reached out to the opera team to see what the deal with this is.
I heard Opera dropped their normal engine and moved their new versions of the mobile browser to the WebKit engine.

No, it does not support flash. I tested it with the bbc news site. Firefox plays videos, this does not.

I wish sites would just finally drop flash and move on. It is a dead format in the mobile world and has been for about a year.
I know why it isn't supported on the nexus 10. I started it up and my tablet immediately rebooted. Now, I don't mind if an app stops, but to reboot the tablet is something else.
Its coming off....

Best browser (for me) is Chrome. I haven't had any of the issues most people seem to have, and most importantly (to me) it has Google Sync
I'm a staunch defender of Opera for desktop, but I can't get myself to like this beta, even the "old" Opera Mobile looks better.
And one thing I'm still missing is the option to clear cookies on exit, like Dolphin does.
Many websites that are important to me require flash, so I'm sticking with the Boat Browser which is brilliant.

Looks nice but it's not very fluid like the stock android browser, then after a few minutes, screen looked choppy, I uninstalled it, went back to stock browser and also made the browser choppy and broken images. I had to reboot my nexus 10.

You can request desktop site (it won't work 100% of the time because some websites just check the resolution of the screen).
