How many of you would be interested in a Carbon Fibery back/battery door? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

So many of you know the UK Samsung Galaxy Note has a carbon fiber battery door as a option. Unfortunately it does not fit our phone even with modification. I for one would love to see one for our phone so i contacted a company I use to order carbon fiber parts for my car to see if they would be willing to make one. I am currently waiting to see if they would be interested in making one, but we would need to show them that it is something people want and that it would be profitable for them. They may require a certain ammount and we may have to do a sign up list in order for them to agree.
So what do you guys think? Would you buy one?
The company that would possibly be making it
http://rexpeed.net/2012/en/index.php
im hoping for a $20-25 price range which seems reasonable considering the size and thickness.
this is the one for the UK Note, quality wasnt that great and im sure it would come out better with a company that has more CF experience

Theres one.

Most of the users have a case so I dont think theres a lot of interests in replacing the battery door. But users who rock it naked might be interested.
-Once you go NOTE, you'd say 4 inches a Joke

I would totally be down for a real carbon fiber back. Either that or work with them to create a super slim carbon fiber case. I would love to mess around with some carbon fiber for my Note, only I don't have the skills or tools necessary at my disposal. If you work something nice out with them, put me down for one.
What would be totally awesome is if they could make a carbon fiber housing to completely replace the plastic trim. I would drop 150 bucks or more on that, but I know that would be ridiculous to make.

its missing the internal antenna for the NFC and the mounting tabs are in a slightly different location, can still be cut to fit ours most likely tho

Will this fit on my non branded Samsung note ?

Looks good, yes. Doesn't fit. I got one already and it's a no go. I'll be reselling it. I have purchased a couple of non i717 backs from ebay and they will not fit. I don't think they will work properly even with trimming some tabs and I'd rather get the factory fit.
I am looking for a carbon fiber back. Can't find any yet, other than a screenguardz sticky thingy. I wonder what true carbon fiber will do to the antenna signals?

The mounting tabs are in the wrong place for the I717 - I had that cover and not was skilled enough in the modification of the tabs & ended up throwing it out

I'd be interested, but think the NFC thing will kill it.
Still 30 bucks or so, I'd be down.

Yes please! I've been looking all over for some custom backs, but nothing so far. If the price is even up to $50, I don't think I would mind for a CF?

I've been looking at these for a while trying to decide. Pricey, yes! The 2nd one looks like the card holder would eventually break loose from wear, sooner or later, depending on the quality. The first one I think is better. If the flap breaks, you just go to your leather shop or shoe repair store and have a new flap installed. But I don't think it is worth double the price
Has anyone purchased yet and can give a review?

When I first looked at this thread I was thinking...Great...Let's make it even larger to pack around but I might rock the vintage look.
wow these are expensive
I went ahead and got the LKUN Collette in navy. Very nice, and I love the smell of dead cow.
Seen one the other day almost had a real thin rubber backing, that's what it looked like anyway but was out of my price range for case anyway. Looked really cool and durable but not bulky at all. Seen it in the galleria area here in Texas.
I have the same boxwave flip leather wallet. I gotta say I quite like plus it got rid of my regular wallet which I've had for years.

Cool, just when I thought I was gonna buy a case, I see this I had actually been looking at some metallic brushed alum or diamond plate look, but it was overwhelming on the whole phone (didnt buy it just mocked one up). Even on just half it didnt look right, but I like this Just wondering, it says this is a snap on. Everyone seems to have less positive things to say about plastic cases scratching corners etc. Curious if theres any lining or anything, gonna email them. Thanks to u both

Lack of Accessories...

Is it just me, or is it weird that this phone is truly a flagship (carried on multiple carriers, amazing specs) and the manufacturers like Seidio, Mugen Power, and the like haven't released ANY accessories? I mean, this is even basically the flagship phone from Google directly...
We've now unlocked the bootloader, which means that ROMs will quickly be available, but this phone is just too thin and slick to NOT have a case of any kind.
The first thing to keep in mind is that although the specs are virtually identical to the N4, the phones external design is completely different. So, one wouldnt fit the other and as such, that point is moot.
Now, i havent done alot of searching, but im also fairly sure that the N4 doesnt have an over abundance of accessories available as of yet, and again, im fairly sure that its probably sold more units than the OG. I checked sites like Seidio.com and they have nothing available for it that i was able to find. The thing is, even phones that dont sell like crazy have alot of accessory options, but they dont usually appear until about a month after the phone is released. It gives accessory manufacturers time to design and make them.
I purchased a One X on launch day about 6 months ago, and i was able to find a case...at AT&T, and a screen protector. However, when i looked on line, i couldnt find many options for it the first few weeks, and now, they are every where. So, i would say be patient, give it time, and you will find that accessories will start appearing from every where. I know Otterbox has a commuter in the works and im guessing many others will too. I for one am hoping Seidio does because i have always loved their cases.

Thanks for the input. I'm hoping what you say is true, and you apparently have the research to back it up. I also wasn't aware that the N4 and LGOG share a different external design... That's good to know.

dont the sprint version and att version have slightly different dimensions anyway? When i went and picked mine up the other day the only OG case they had at best buy didnt fit my phone at all. I wonder if it was specific to the sprint version and didnt say so on the packaging

In theory I completely agree with you... In practice however, this phone is just too slippery. I've already almost dropped it more times than I can count. It needs protection.

Best Buy has the Invisible Shield HD from Zagg, and it fits the AT&T variant perfectly. My understanding is that the Zagg site doesn't even list the HD, which is better quality/clarity than the standard protector the site does list.
Well, we may be waiting a bit for cases. I got this from Seidio after asking about cases and such:
"Dear Robert,
Thank you for contacting Seidioonline.com. We appreciate your interest in our products. We have not finalized plans to make any products for the LG Optimus G. i think the back cover is not effective for protection. its because when your phone drops, you dont know which part will hit the ground first. thus, you still need a case. lol
Either way protection or not from the images it does look ascetically better then what samsung offers.

guys i bought a case like this for my sisters s4 , and i can confirm NFC doesnt work , also it ads bulk and weight to the phone , to the point where i personally didnt like it , it has a plastic case under the aluminum one.
Seemst to me that would get scratched up and look bad fairly quickly. Unless you put a case on it, but it would be pointless to buy if you're going to cover it with a case. I'd also be concerned about what it did to reception.
