[Q] can't install titanium backup - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi
i can't install titanium backup, i have had it install before, but know when i try to install it it says " not enough storage" but i can install all other apps

means u dont have enough space on phone..either delete some apps or use apps2sd to mov apps to sd card

But the wierd thing is that I have enough space, can install other apparently, and have around 500 mb left

I used to have that problem...
What I did is...
On any file explorer that let you edit the system, go to /data/app/ and searcho for a file woth .odex extension and delete it, then try to install Titanium Backup from Google Play..
Done...
Hope it helps.

Well are you rooted? You need root, and to turn on root access in the settings of ES file explorer before you can access /data/app.
/data/app is not actually in either the internal sd partition or the external sd.

I'm a motorola defy user, used google and saw this thread, I also can't install titanium backup. I dont have the .odex file on system/data/app folder.
other apps install except titanium backup
edit: follow these steps
you need to delete odex file com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup-1.odex or same from /data/app directory
now working

You need to be rooted, of course. When you open ES Explorer, press the Back button once. That'll take you to your root directory, where the system/data/app folder resides

Can't install titanium backup
To fix it, you need to remove the patch installed by Lucky Patcher.
Open Lucky Patcher. Press menu button and hit Troubleshooting, then
Uninstall Patches. This will remove all patches that were installed by
Lucky Patcher for all apps.
Now, go to Troubleshooting again, and hit Clear Dalvik Cache and
Reboot.
Now, install Titanium Backup.
Note that you have to reapply patches for all apps you had previously
patched.

Titanium backup update failed: not enough free space???

I dunno what's the problem, the titanium backup update wont install. It is downloaded but at the end of he installation it says there is not enough free space.
But I've still 6Gb of free space! Do you know what's going on?
If you aren't rooted that might be why. Must have root.
i'm rooted, but face this problem too! ):
fix:
Go to data/app folder using root explorer and delete
com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup-1.odex

OK to fix your problem you are going to need to delete the odex file from /data/app/ for com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup.odex. Delete this file via root explorer and you should be good to go.

No problem, Anytime you have an app problem like that on a odex ROM usually deleting the corresponding odex file will fix the problem.

You can't uninstall SuperUser in Root Explorer because it will be the one giving you Root Permissions
If you want to update it, do it via Play Store

just move it FIRST to internal memory, and if you are rooted, just copy it (the app should be in data/app)

If you are not rooted, then you should root.
If you are rooted, then using a root browser (you can use es file explorer) go to data/app an you will find your app there. Now copy it to your sd card or somewhere so you can use it
Simply Use myappsharer from market

On the root of the phone (in root explorer) go into mnt, and then asec. Then find the folder, open it and the apk is there. If not, move the app to the SD card in settings then try.

I dont think he should be rooted to copy anything FROM internal memory. Root is only required to copy TO internal memory.
False.
If you just want to look at your internal memory with all the system folders, you need root. Without root you can't even view that folder
Yes you are correct. My mistake
Use "App backup and restore" app to backup the required app and then share it....

Delete the accpunt
Don't forget to hit thanks
Install an app named "Clean Master"
Its free from play store
Just install it and start taking backups of your favourite apps from your father's phone....
Enjoy...

You guys... I don't think its allowed to discuss about transferring paid apks (warez) on xda. :sly:
Correct me if I am wrong.
Simply buy it. Warez is not tolerated on XDA and shouldn't be discussed.

Nexus 5 KitKat v4.4.x ... I deleted all APKs from /data/app and apps started crashing. I forced a reboot and stuck in animated google boot logo for 20 mins with nothing. I did the hard shutdown and into bootloader to go into recovery. I had to use nexus root toolkit v1.8.0 to reset to factory
its cause some of the apps which you installed were installed in data/app.. in your case you deleted it.. so the apps which installed in that folder wont work.. try re-flashing the rom.. thats the solution.. and i know its been a three months you posted this problem.. and now i guess you cleared that already...
