[Q] Alarm clock with siyah kernel - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have an issue with siyah kernel 3.2.1.
The night, i turn my phone in plane mode. When the phone isn't in charge, the ring of alarm doesn't work in the morning. It seems the phone is asleep.
I'am on VK 4.7.2 rom.
Thanks in advance for your help

It's a feature of the kernel to make sure that you are well rested. Alarms interfere with this.

same issue for me with siyah kernel 3.2.1 and Resurrection Remix

Isn,t there a solution?
Thanks

Siyah or fluxi

Siyah has the best implementation of 'true BLN' (as opposed to an app which makes your screen flash when you have call/txt/whatever). However, there is obviously a battery penalty if you use it (small I'm told; I don't know first hand as I don't have BLN enabled because I find it an utterly useless & low-fi solution) because when BLN is 'on' it holds a wakelock, which would probably be dependent on how often BLN is in use (I.E how many txt's/missed calls you have).
I'm sure there are also Siyah ripoffs which use it as well.
Siyah kernel mate, works perfect for me

Siyah is the best for battery and BLN.
If you want only battery flash cm9 kernel.

CheckROM v4 & siyah kernel 2.4.1. Opinions..

Hello all!! I'm using the latest CheckROM with cf-root kernel... I'd like to know some opinions with this rom and siyah kernel 2.4.1... How is the battery life? Is it stable? What is the bln mod in the kitchen pro app?
Thanks in advance!!!

Err...read the thread?
I am using that combination. The Battery life is good and my phone has been stable so far and also incredibly smooth. The only issue is that the kitchen app doesn't install modifications automatically with clockwork recovery 5 so you would have to flash them manually after downloading them.
BLN is a service that can make your white capacitive buttons light up in various ways to notify you about incoming messages, missed calls etc.

I have CheckROM 4.0 + SiyahKernel 2.4.2: works very good!
Thanks for your answers!
I also use that combo. Yes it is very good. Battery life is the best I have had personally.
Oh, and the kitchen installs the updates properly for me...

Guys, why dont discuss CheckROM in CheckROM Thread?
Do you really need new thread for this conversation?
Lol @ me

Dont mean to bump thread, but I'm also on CheckROM V4 and Siyah kernel.
When i download BLN using kitchen pro, it doesn't seem to work for me. Any help? I've tried downloading BLN from the market as well.
Siyah kernel works great with check ROM. Pretty stable and the battery life is great. But frankly speaking the differences if any are negligible. They are more of placebo. I currently use Siyah for MIUI only for the undervolting and bln support.

Have you done undervolt also?
This is the main cause.
The problem is from your kernel
what kernel are you on, to overclock the best kernel is siyah kernel for ics roms
SiyahKernel for SGS2 | "One kernel to rule them all"
www.gokhanmoral.com
once you do this you should't have a problem anymore
if i helped press thx

Said the man who just posted that there are no stable ICS ROMs.
Great advice about overclocking though - the OP obviously really wants to, he just ended up underclocking buy some twist of fate... Good you're here to fix it for him
You cannot possibly be for real.
may i know how to undervolt and what app should i need to use to underclocking/overclocking?
i used battery saver pro to underclocking but my phone hang and force shutdown

Could be broken in that kernel, try reflashing it and made sure the developer who makes it the change log doesn't say something like BLN is broken in this release. If these don't help you can try using an app called NoLED (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.led.notify) that allows similar function to BLN for devices without the notification led.

[Solved] Galaxy s2 Over heating Problem

My galaxy s2 is overheating. I have rooted my phone and had Neat rom 5.2 installed for quite sometime when I first noticed the heating.I ignored it, but when it became a frequent thing I switched to Neatrom 5.5. This also did not solve the problem. Now I'm on wanamlite 14.6, with a few stock apps titanium backup app and whatsapp. Still the issue persists, what could be it? I tried better battery stats but did not find any app in particular which would be responsible to heat my fone. Is it the modem/kernel? I'm not to technical, I just flash becoz I like trying new roms and their cool features.
Also my battery drains really quick, at times just drops down 25-30% in 10 mins.
Should I try switching back to stock OS?
Hmm.. Did you overclock your phone or change any kernel related settings? Cpu governer? Anything?
Overclocking might be the reason of the heat and the battery drain.
Have you tried flashing the stock firmware?

I did not over clock my phone, tried under clocking it but not in this rom, I'd tried it long back, much before this heating issue.. I used a cpu governer for it. I will try flashing stock only if i'm sure it solves the issue. I like custom OS so much I don't wana go back.
Just try a stock ROM for now to check if it will fix the issue. Then you can revert back to custom roms.
Another question, what is your current cpu governor?
Sent from my One X+ using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Right now I haven't changed my cpu governer.i mean it may be the default which comes with wanam14.6. I did not change it.

I think maybe its a battery malfunction, you ever try changing the battery?
Just try it..
I hope it works...

I have swapped my battery fr a couple of day's with my dad's s2 which was bought on the same day. That s2 has no heating issues, other than a once in a blue moon heating. Does flashing roms hamper the cellfone hardware in any way? I guess not, but i'm not able to find out what's causing it.

If you did all the recommended stuff flashing an stock rom, and other recommendations "in software", and you still have experienced the same problem with the heat issue... Them its a hardware problem you have...
Unless u can buy a system with water coolant for you Galaxy...
Or use ir for warm your winter's nights.
