Alternate music player? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

So I'm looking for a program that looks like Google Music and will list all the tracks I have on my phone in a list sortable either by band or album. Google Music has for the past couple days refused to play anything that's not streaming and even when streaming it sometimes tell me it can't play the selected stream. I can use root explorer and play the files on my phone individually but when selected in Google Music it says sorry can't play selected track. I think I'm gonna try winamp if this thread gets no replies. Thanks in advanced for your help guys!

I've actually been having the same problem with my google music as well. would you happen to be on a ROM? or just stock phone?
I tried out the free demo of poweramp and i actually liked it quite a bit. Winamp was also very good for me and it let me wirelessly sync to my laptop to boot!!
Edit: Spelling and Grammar

I have the issue using both aokp and shostock2. Haven't tried on a stock rom but I have little interest in going back to stock just for Google Music. I like face unlock too much. =P I don't want a music manager on my computer. Do you think I can plausibly use winamp and just ignore the sync component conpletely? I think I'll look into poweramp for now. Thanks for the suggestion. =]

I use Player Pro - and one warning about winamp - I could not get the phone app to stop looking for the desktop component that wasn't there - which meant it was draining the battery something nasty continually pinging the network.
This was a couple of months ago - they might have fixed it, but just be aware.

I had cloud skipper before flashin ics and it was cool but didn't ever think bout getting it again been using stock player and it's fine but I see alot of ppl sayin power amp might check it out

Windows Phone 7 Music Player

Have u guys seen this music player? the guy who created Launcher Pro is currently working on it but so far looks great...give it a try...here's the alpha 2 version :
http://bit.ly/luHFGO
Very nice! If it had some Widgets and was compatible with lyrics app, I'd replace player pro this instant. Awesome look and responsiveness, though.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA Premium App
There are multiple other threads on this subject... XDA should put one topic for it.
Omg... this looks awesome! Unfortunately the moment I play a song...it forcecloses...

This is an awesome music app for it to be in alpha, especially since it has scrobbling from last.fm.
Force closes on me sometimes too but i suppose that is to be expected.
keeps FC for me, thats a shame since it looks as a nice music player...
Hope next versions will be more stable...
It's a really good first attempt. I put it next to my HTC surround, and it looks freaking perfect. Now only if I could get all the DRM stripped off my Zune Pass content....
Really nice. very good start....
one problem....
IT FORCE CLOSES!!!!
If it force closes, email Fede (the developer) with your logs and what not. He'll try to fix it. Better for everyone and more productive than just whining.
Mine works perfectly fine.
I like it, just wish it had a widget.

Where is the e-mail add for the developer and where do I get my logs...to send?
Its in alpha... does nobody seem to get that!? He hasn't even got a beta.
Sent from my Motorola Atrix 4G on the network with the most backhaul, whatever that is
most of the time I realise it force closes when it could not pull out the album art fast enough. Not sure if I'm making sense here.
Let me just try again.
While using the app, I realise one peculiarity.
When scrolling though songs, there are occasions where by when the new track starts playing, the album art that is shown, is that of the previous track. And usually in these instances, the app will encounter an error and force close.
Now this appear to be a great app in the works, and if it were to support the a search function instead of just scrolling through the list as well as the ability of editing playlists on the fly, it would be perfect.
For me is working OK. Rooted Stock OLYEM_u4_2.1.1
Thanks for posting about this I'm really loving this player

MP3 Apps - Download Failed

Guys, bought my girl her Tbolt last night and downloaded an MP3 app so she can download some songs as she had on her Dinc but everytime we download a song I get a download failed. I tried to download the same song on my Tbolt(rooted) and it worked fine, is there anyway Verizon is stopping the download of the song? BTW, I tried another MP3 app which installed fine but the songs will not download. Any ideas?
What mp3 app? Why not do what the rest of the world does, iTunes (for the morally righteous) or torrent it (for all the horrible terrible people in this world who will grow up to be killers and robbers)
i like gtunes, 95% good downloads, and they always have the songs i look for.

Guys, thanks for the feedback like I said my phone has been fine but any MP3 app I put on my girls Tbolt installs but once I download the music it fails. I will let you know.
What was the outcome on this? I'm experiencing that same problem now with my GS4. No app will download songs.

Just trying to get an idea, what music player is everyone using? Currently I'm using Google Music but I have a new pair of headphones coming in the mail in a few days and want to get the best out of them. Share your thoughts!

Hi there. Let me chime in as well. I am using PlayerPro (paid) and I prefer it due to the interface and skin layout. I tried ProAmp and a bunch of others and they are not my cup of tea. I personally don't like google music interface. I also see not much sense in storing my music in the cloud where I can't access it when I am in the air. I am in the process of getting myself a 64GB sdxc and that will hold everything that I currently have on my Zune. As a side, I wish there were an app that lets you use the GS2 with my zune pass subscription, which lets you store your downloaded music subscription etc to your zune player. Currently you can't play this content on the GS2. I am using Klipsch S4 and they are excellent, and for air travel I may switch them on occasion with my audio-technica noise cancelling ear buds.

The EQ app? Just "Equalizer" from the market. I use it since G-Music sounds flat out of the box.

I think PlayerPro has the best interface/sound combo with PowerAmp a close second. I've paid for both.
PlayerPro is the easiest/most intuitive of any player I've tried. The ability to pick the artist photos is a huge plus in my book.
Also, I own those Klipsch S4 earbuds. They sound great!

is there any music player that doesn't automatically scan all the sd card?
i listen to audiobooks on my phone too and currently using winamp but it lists all the audiobook files as well as the my music tracks which is a bit annoying. tried stock player which has the same behaviour.
