CruzerLite cases for rezound - HTC Rezound

I think they just got them in.They're really cheap and seem good, a lot of colors to choose from too.
Who here has tried them and how much bulk do they add?

I won an Orange Androidified TPU case from their Facebook contest a while back.
They don't add much bulk at all. Fits snugly and has just a slight lip around the screen which gives a slight bit of protection.
The texture is glossy and smooth, but has just enough grip to where I am not concerned about dropping it. I noticed a few minor line weight issues with the robot print, where a couple robots' outlines are thick in some spots from missing orange print. Very slight and not noticeable unless looking throughly.
The cutouts for the power, speaker, USB, bottom mic, and the secondary mic are clean. The power button cutout has to be reached around from the back or straight down to press, can't do it easily from the side and difficult from the front; must curl finger over the case material.
The volume controls had some hard, textured plastic over them different from the rest that really just made pressing them near impossible, very annoying. Must use the tip of my finger and dig in. Considering slitting the area down the middle to see if that flexes it enough for presses to register, or cutting out area entirely with a box cutter. Still will probably be less functional than stock like the power button; thick, functional overlays on each area would've helped these flush stock buttons.
I like the design and quality for an entry level case. Slips on and off quickly for basic protection in a pocket or whatnot. But the button issues prevent it from staying on.

lol dude, i did a HUGE review thread on Cruzerlite cases when the Rezound came out.

Ugh, I want to like TPU cases but I hate trying to get my phone in and out of my pocket with a TPU case.

These cases are amazing. I have the smoke and clear one. Easy to get on and off. Easy to take in and out of pocket. Only thing that is a little hard the the volume up and down are a bit tough to press.

Diztronic TPU case review

Just a quick review...
I got 2 of these cases, one in smoke clear and one black. Both are matte finish.
The black version
The smoke clear version
I have owned TPU cases before for different phones, all tended to be very thick and added a lot of bulk. I never really cared for them because of that. I do not need to worry much about damage to the phone other than blemishes, dents, and scratches from the occasional drop from a few feet. I'm not overly accident prone or have kids to worry about throwing the thing.
These cases are very thin, they only added about 1/16 of an inch in width, height and a little less than that in thickness. (the sides are a little thinner than the back) thick enough to protect from the occasional tumble and protect from day to day use wear and tear. The matte finish is nice and the case feels grippy.
Are they perfect? No... the more complex angles and shapes of the phone mean that a perfect snug fit isn't going to happen. The area where the side of the phone transitions to the front/screen has a slight radius and the lip of the case that comes over the edge does not follow it exactly. So when you look closely where the cutouts are for the power button, charge port, and other areas, you can see a very small air gap. (think putting something round in a corner) The case fits snug and holds onto the phone well, so over all its a pretty good fit. I can't stress enough that the small gap is really not an issue or problem for the fit and security of the case. The rest of the case fits tight and close to the phone.
I am happy with the case, I really like the matte finish and the thinness.
Over all its a win and recommended.
It looks like some of the reviewers on Amazon are displeased with the cover on the volume rocker, specifically, they don't like the reduced responsiveness of the rocker with the case on.
What do you think about it?

It is stiffer to press, but every TPU case I have used has been that way. It does make finding the flush (what was you thinking HTC?!) buttons easier just from feel.
I have an idea to test that may help this little stiffness issue. Will report back.
Edit:
I took an xacto knife and cut down each side of the 2 buttons. I did not cut all the way top to bottom, I cut about 3/4 of the way from the end to the middle for each button on both sides. (a total of 4 cuts) This gave a little extra play and makes pushing the buttons easier.
Not a bad idea, though I now worry about the life of the buttons. It sounds like you took care to not do too heavy of a mod to it though, so the life of the button cover should be almost a non issue.
Thanks for that bit of investigative moding to your case.

They shouldn't get too much flexing so it should last a good long time.
I just received my black extended TPU case. As the review above states fits snug and adds very little bulk. I personally do not have an issue with the volume rocker. With the volume rocker being as flat as it is on the phone this case doesn't make changing the volume any harder or easier. I think the performance is about the same with or with out the case.
Great case for extended battery!!
I got an extended battery the other day, I just cut out the back and it works great.
Got both the Diztronic and the OEM HTC tpu case direct from htc. I like the texture on the diztronic case but the cutouts on the htc case are much better and it seems it protects around the screen and corners better also.

Solid black "S" Curve TPU GEL Sking Case

A skin case is a good description for this. I had this arrive today that I ordered after the Seidio case. This was a cheapie at < $4.01 free shipping (Amazon Prime)
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005TQRLQG
Difference much less bulk to it... lighter, good grip feeling (not as slippery as the Seidio), rubbery but not loose fitting or easy to slip off like others.
This case protects the outside of the phone from scratches etc, has a smaller lip above the glass making it easier to swipe like I used to. However, it has a lot less cushion than the Seidio... so it most likely doesn't protect as well against drops like the Seidio Active.
Most likely a good case if you are concerned about dings etc... and want some protection, but not worried about large drops.
this case sucks, makes the power really hard to press. so it cut the area of the case where the power button is.
I own this case and I love it I think it makes my phone easier to hold and adds a lil style in the process
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk
It definitely makes holding the phone easier. Don't agree on the Vol buttons though.. Thought it made using them easier than without the case. Not nearly as easy as with the Seidio case though.
I have the clear one. I like it because you can still see the beats logo. I like the textured grips on the side aswell. Good case.
I have the clear blue one and a white one. I like the cases, but yea the buttons are hard to push...
got mine today and this is the best case I've tried so far for this phone. 4.75/5 stars...the power button is hard to press, but other than that this thing is perfect
i have this same case and love it now... in the beginning it was just cool but after getting used to it it seems that the buttons are getting easier to push and its also easier to hold
Volume buttons are harder to push than the Seidio Active case, but easier to locate and press than the phone without the case.
Works better in the EZO dock as well.
Via Rezound using XDA Premium
Brain fart
On topic I have the black and the white version. White gets a little dirty, black is perfect
Got it for 2 days, the fitment is great, and the grip is also great.
The power is a little hard to press but no big deal, and the volume keys are fine.
Overall a great case for a great price!

EVO LTE My Case Reviews & Pics - TPU Amzer, TPU Diztronic, TPU Cruzerlite

Below is my quick review of three EVO LTE cases. I posted this before, but I intend to update it and add my review of the Cruzerlite case. I promised someone I would provide pictures so I wanted to get those up sooner rather than later.
I have 3 cases to compare against each other. This will be my quick and dirty review. This is my opinion so no need for argument.
Sprint Blue Silicone. - It's silicone. Same issues as any silicone case. Attracts dust, hair, etc. Case feels like it could come off easily.
eBay TPU Amzer Transparent "White" glossy case. - The color described and pictured in the listing did not match what I received but that isn't important to this review. The case fits well. The front of the case creates a lip that protects the glass when the phone is face down. All of the buttons are covered by TPU. It may seem like a bad thing but it's not when compared to the Diztronic. I can easily press any of the buttons while keeping a firm one-handed grip on the phone. The only openings are access ports, kickstand, speakers, and microphone. The phone feels well protected with the case on. The biggest flaw is that there isn't a raised lip around the back camera.
Diztronic TPU matte black case. - the case looks beautiful. The matte finish on the back and the glossy front looks sharp. Same lip on the front to protect the glass when the phone is face down. They have a nice raised lip around the back camera. All buttons and ports have cutouts in the TPU. The matte finish is less gripy than the glossy finish of the Amzer case.
The cutouts create the biggest issue for me and why I probably won't be using the Diztronic case. That issue can be broken into 2 parts. The first part is with the volume button cutout. The size of that cutout created a thin strip of TPU above the button near the screen. This strip of TPU is rather flimsy and is kind of "just there". I'd compare it to a hangnail.
The second part with the cutouts is the difficulty of pressing the buttons. It is most noticeable when I try to use the volume button with a firm one-handed grip. Because there is that thin flimsy piece of TPU near the volume button, I have to lift my thumb over the TPU and down to push the button. There is nothing below the button to really give your thumb a surface to grab onto. My thumb is no longer in a good position to hold the phone and the majority, if not all, of my grip has to come from my palm and my four fingers. On the Amzer case my thumb is still a strong part of my grip when I press the volume button.
Back to Diztronic, the cutouts for camera button and power button are harder to access. Imagine trying to hold the phone and press the camera button with one hand.
I have 3 cases coming from Cruzerlite to try. After trying the Diztronic, I had to go back and see if the Cruzerlite had similar cutouts. They do. We'll see how those feel.

thoughts exactly on the Diztronic...if it just had covered the volume buttons I could deal with the other cutouts and likely would use the case more...
hopefully/maybe he comes out with an update on it and changes at least that one part?...
nice.
the white clear one looks like it could be identical to the tpu rocketfish case.
waiting patiently for cruzerlite case review.
has anyone gotten the otterbox commuter case in/reviewed yet?
Very appreciative of the post, but ur username absolutely horrendous.... It has only been true 1 out of every 3 games...

I also have a issue with the case holding the power button down with the Diztronic case needs a wider lip around the screen!
great thread.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly. I've contacted the seller. I've been very cordial with him. His communication sucks. I haven't asked for a refund. I just asked him what he can do. It's not a huge deal, but it sucks to be shown one thing and receive another. If I don't hear from the guy in a day or 2, I'll chalk it up as a loss, but I'll have to leave negative feedback. Sucks, but thems the breaks.
iv been using the Cruzerlite case for about a week. i LOVE IT!
one issue with it is that when ever i wanna show my friends how slim my evo is. i go to take the Cruzerlite case off and its so tight on the phone when i pull it off it ends up ripping off the back top cover.
I'm going to have to disagree with the complaints about the Diztronics case. The button cutouts are just right, I don't feel that they interfere with getting to buttons at all. I would hate to lose the tactile feel of the two-stage shutter button by covering it, for one. As for the strip above the volume rocker, it's quite adequate, not thin or flimsy at all. I have no bulge around the kickstand, and all in all I'd rate this case a 10. Just my take on the situation.

As someone on the fence of a couple cases, what are you basing your "10" rating on? I see OP has a selection and is giving his opinion, but all you've added here is, "You're wrong, its perfect". Which is cool, its an opinion too, but OP has a few options to compare it to. If you've got some other cases also I'm sure we'd all love to see your pics and hear your individual opinions on how they weigh against each other, that'd be great!
I have to say I love the Diztronic Matte case. I don't have any other case to compare it to... but it looks and feels amazing. This is my first TPU case and I love how this doesn't pick up any fingerprints/dust, and won't stick to your jeans. At first I found it a little difficult to hit the power button, but I got used to this pretty quick. The cutouts for the volume and camera buttons cause no issues for me. I guess it may depend on how you hold the phone.
I normally don't like using cases with my phones, but I like this one so much and it fits so well that I don't see myself wanting to take it off.
Well, I can't really do a comparison, and I don't mean to take anything away from the OP's review - which, I have to admit, was very well written. I personally just got this case and I'm very happy with it. For the record, I did not say "you're wrong" just that I disagree. It is personal preference. I don't feel that the open buttons are a con, I actually prefer it this way. I also feel that the strip above the volume rocker is plenty strong, and I have no worries about the durability of this case. I had the same case for my OG Evo for nearly 2 years and I still love it, and this one seems even better in terms of design, quality, and value.
Not everyone will have the same opinion, and that's cool. I'm not selling anything but my own thoughts. I might even prefer one of the other cases if I tried them, but I'm happy with what I have.
Hope that clears things up a bit, and I hope you find something that you like.

I'm really surprised to hear of anyone having button problems with our case. I've been using our Diztronic case since my pre-order arrived and have had no problems at all. The point of a cutout is so you won't have problems pressing the buttons. If we cover them someone will email me and say they physically cannot press the buttons, and if we cutout them out someone will email me saying they would prefer them covered. Ultimately it comes down to what I get less complaints about and that is by far cutout buttons. I know you can't please everyone all the time but I do believe our Evo LTE case is far and away the best TPU case we've ever made. So far I've received 5 emails from customers who either had problems with a kickstand buldge or a sticky power button which is an extremely low amount of complaints compared to how many we've sold already, so It does appear most customers are very happy with our Evo LTE case. As always, if you guys have problems with any of our products or have ideas of how to make them better please email me. Thanks for your support!
Edit: just wanted to let you guys know the numbers are in and our Matte Back Black HTC Evo LTE case set a single day sales record for us on Sunday! Thank you everyone!

I have 3 of these and love them all, ok maybe not the white. Gets dirty too fast lol. But they fit great and protect as well as look cool. I'm the first to admit the power button takes a little tweak on how you press it. I come from behind instead of the front. Could be cuz I got fat fingers lol. Overall very well built case. Now I just need a belt clip to hold it.

Better is up to the person holding the phone in the case. He posted pictures of the white TPU S-Line case. I can't answer as to whether any others are better. The OP hasn't posted anything on the forums in two weeks, so it might be best to send him a private message and ask how each case fits and feels. However, in his post, he says he thinks the Incipio Dual Pro is the best he's tried, but not everyone likes the same thing. Send him a private message and hopefully it'll pop up in his email and he'll see to come reply.
Incipio Dual Pro
So, I got the case in and here are my thoughts:
Size: It adds a bit of weight and bulk, which makes it heavier than my original Incredible with its case. It won't take much getting used to, though. I'd say it's about 50% heavier with the case. The extra size isn't nearly as noticeable as the weight difference.
Feel: It feels pretty nice. The power button makes it more sensitive than it is without the case, as it's directly on the top middle rather than slightly toward the front, and sometimes you can't feel that you've pressed it. The volume rocker, on the other hand, makes it much easier to determine if you're touching the up or down rocker without looking. When placing your phone on its face on a table, it's slightly raised so you don't have to worry about it scratching your screen if the surface is perfectly flat.
Look: It looks great, but I got the black one, and the rubber part of it is a lint collector. If you have a lot of lint in your pocket, you're definitely going to see a little bit of it on the sides.
Sound: Sound from the speakerphone is great. However, if the phone is laying on its back with the screen up, you can't feel the vibrate. On the face you can feel it decently. I keep the phone in my pocket with the face against my leg, so I can feel it vibrate most of the time.
Durability: The inner part of the case just feels like rubber, and the outer part of it is hard plastic. In my opinion, the inner part could be a little more sturdy, but with the outer part, it works well. The plastic outer back picks up fingerprints quite well, but it wipes away just as easily. I'm not so sure how well it will hold up to scratches. Only time will tell.
Overall, I think this is a pretty good case. The weight difference can be overcome, and with enough vibrate for me to feel it when it's in my pocket, no sound distortion, and pretty solid, I think I can live with it for two years. I give it a 4/5.

In addendum to my original observations, I would like to state that the inner part of the case is definitely a dust magnet, but the vibrate has gotten better. I can definitely feel it and hear it better than I could two weeks ago. Maybe it just wasn't settled in yet.
Anyway, definitely a great buy if you don't mind a little lint on your case.

[Review] Incipio Feather

Haven't seen anyone show pics of the Incipio Feather for our Evo LTE so thought I'd post a quick review. I have had the Diztronic case on my Evo since the first day I bought it. It is a great case and protects fairly well but I found myself taking the phone out and carrying it naked due to how good it looks without a case. So once I saw the feather was out for the Evo I had to get it.
The Incipio Feather is a little more expensive than the Diztronic, $20 vs $10 with a coupon but worth it in my opinion. It is a hard shell that snaps on but is just as thin if not thinner than the Diztronic. I figured the hard shell might also help in avoiding the phone bend that some have had. The Incipio has a very smooth matte finish which complements the Evo very well.
The Feather covers the entire back and the sides of the phone. There are cutouts for the volume buttons, camera button and charging port. One great advantage of the Incipio is that the power button is not covered so it is much easier to press than with the Diztronic. I've attached pictures that show all angles of the case. The bottom lip of the case extends past the bottom part of the phone and the top part of the cover extends to the same level as the phone. Lastly the sides do not extend past the screen but rather at the same level. That is if you place the phone screen down on a flat surface it doesn't elevate the screen. This is a downside but the phone looks so good I have no desire to take it off. Please let me know if anyone has any questions.. Thanks
Which ROM are you running? Is it bug free? Thanks for the review by the way.

I meant questions about the case. Lol. No prob though, I'm running cleanromDe. Quite honestly its the best ROM for me. I love nova and being able to customize the launcher so I don't need sense. I have lots of free memory and no lag. I would def recommend trying it out if you haven't

Looks pretty nice. I was kinda hoping it was raised above the screen a bit.
Does the strip above the volume buttons feel flimsy at all? That was my biggest complaint with the Cruzerlite Androidify.
My wife is getting on me about having too many cases so the next one I get has to be my last and has to be the best lol.

The strip by the volume buttons feels very sturdy and doesn't bend with moderate pressure. I don't want to press too hard and have it break but it is definitely not flimsy.

Both of these are very similar to the Spigen hard case I purchased and had at the ready before my LTEvo arrived in the mail.
(Not allowed to post links yet, as I'm new here, but it is Spigen's snap case for the Evo 4G LTE)
It is basically the smoothest case I've seen for any phone, and looks like the photo when mounted in real life. Unfortunately, the corner strip where the volume rocker is was a bit too fragile. My case broke at that spot less than 2 days of owning it, and I've since read reviews complaining about the same thing.
It's been mentioned that the Incipio feels pretty sturdy in that area, but I'm still wary of that, especially if these cases are made of polycarbonate like the one I purchased.

I was rockin the sgp version as well. Loved it. But.
It's to fragile, it cracked when i was trying to take it off. Also, it isn't very grippy, and i always feel like it's going to slip out of your hand. Scratches pretty easily to. It's all rubbed where it rests on a table. From vibrating when it rings.
Ordered the incipio feather, and ngp. Will compare them with the spigen when they arrive tomorrow.
Where did you order the feather from? I can't find it on their website or Amazon. I jumped the gun on one last week and misread the item so I ended up with one for the OG Evo.
