[Q] Bluetooth issue,,,. - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

My new evo lte randomly connects and then drops bluetooth connection in my vehicle. (My OG EVO paired with it once and then ran perfectly every time i entered the vehicle) Anyone with similar problem? Suggestions?

My Audio would automatically dim after a while. As in the volume would go really low until I hit pause and play again. Was listening to an audio book and it would do this like every 40 minutes it seemed. Other than that it was connected to my car bluetooth for hours without dropping the connection. Like 6 hrs

I'm having the same problem connecting to my Pioneer car stereo. It connects fine at first, then randomly drops off, or won't re-connect without rebooting phone.

I think its HTC Car dock app. Because when I use the app CarHome ultra it works perfectly. That sucks because I actually like HTC Car dock, but I guess 3rd party apps for me.

[Q] Strange Bluetooth issue

So I got the Thunderbolt on release day and the first thing I tried when leaving the store was syncing to my 2011 VW Tiguan. It did sync fine with the phone (handsfree) and phonebook. I was using it without issue until I decided the other day to try streaming media to the radio. Both devices showed that the mediastreaming was paired as well as the headset.
Long story short... it didnt work. No audio was streamed thru the connection. OK so fine. Except now when I connect the phone to the car it first connects the headset and the media streaming profiles and then disconnects the headset. It will not reconnect at all now. (Actually it says that it is paired but disconnected)
I deleted everything and tried to re-pair it to no effect. I changed the phones name as well. I have tried a battery pull from the phone but it will no longer connect the headset profile to the car or download the phonebook.
**UPDATE**
I was able to pair it and use my jawbone headset. Would still like to get the speaker phone working.
Any thoughts? Im in the car for many hours per day and this is going to make me crazy.

HTC Car doesn't always start automatically

Hello,
I have the HTC EVO 4G LTE and the official car dock that I purchased from the Sprint store. If I understand correctly, this dock should automatically send my phone into the HTC Car app when plugged in. This happens sometimes, but not all the time--it's hit or miss. I haven't been able to pinpoint exactly why it won't go into HTC Car mode sometimes, and it's becoming frustrating after only a few days. Usually I can just unplug it and immediately replug it--I do that once or twice, and then it works.
Does anyone know how/why this is? I read somewhere that the connectors on the dock are somehow different than the "standard" micro USB connectors, which is what alerts the phone that it is in a car dock. I really would like this to work automatically, 100% of the time, because I absolutely LOVE the HTC Car app. It blows away Garmin and TomTom GPS. And it automatically turns on bluetooth and connects to my bluetooth headset for any calls, and to my HTC Car StereoClip and resumes playing the last music or radio station.
Must fix this.
Dude, It's happening to me also. Hit or miss...hope they get this issue fixed. Very frustrating.
When in the car app click on the bottom bar with the white arrows and Bluetooth symbol to launch settings and make sure that auto-launch is selected and auto-connect if you want to connect to Bluetooth as well.
Also I have found you have to click it in all the way to get it to launch. Once the charge light comes on it does not necessarily mean it is completely docked. I was running into this problem as well but these 2 things have it working great for me so far
I have triple- and quadruple-checked...and yes, I have the option set to automatically go into Car Mode when docked. I have found myself pushing the phone down rather "hard," to ensure it connects "all the way." But yea, this is a very annoying little glitch. Last week, I found myself playing with it waaaaay too much, as far as taking it out and putting it back in to see if it would go into Car Mode. 1) This is dangerous, and I probably shouldn't be doing that much while driving. 2) In some instances, by the time I got it to dock automatically, I was just a block or two from where I was going. SMH...
I know you can always start car mode manually, but it's so inconvenient. If you weren't aware already, when car mode works automatically, it automatically turns on bluetooth and connects to my bluetooth headset for any calls, and to my HTC Car StereoClip and resumes playing the last music or radio station. And when you take it out of the dock, it turns off bluetooth and disconnects from your devices...saving you time and just making things more intuitive.

I do know what you mean it still doesn't launch automatically for me as well sometimes. I was just suggesting those if you hadnt known or tried them. I am not sure if it is a software issue with the phone or a hardware issue with the dock connections? Hopefully they can fix it with an OTA but if not I will be expecting a replacement dock for sure.
For now I solved the issue by making an NFC switch to turn on bluetooth and car app along with a few other things like turning my media volume up and turn off wifi if I forgot to leaving the house or work. Then getting out of the car a second tap reverses everything.
I've noticed this too and was just getting ready to search about this issue when I see it at the top of the list. I've seen it work about 1/3 to 1/2 the time, and if it doesn't, if I undock, turn screen off/on then unlock and try again, it seems to work most of the time (could be fooling myself, though).
I thought Locale could address, but problem is that phone is not recognizing the car dock, not that it fails to launch the app. I'd hope this is fixed in upcoming release if one of the awesome modders doesn't figure it out first.
Definitely hit or miss. Most of the time car mode doesn't launch at all. It is detecting the dock though or the screen wouldn't turn on like it does. Normal charging doesn't make the screen turn on. I'm still stumped though.
I don't have the official HTC dock but I have a 3rd party one set up with a custom NFC tag that launches car mode. You guys could probably do the same as a workaround for yours not launching automatically. Probably not the fix you want but it works. You can find more info over in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1673440

[Q] Is you car Mode Disabling bluetooth media?

When I first Installed my rezound car dock, I also installed an Aux Audio 3.5mm jack.
Later I upgraded to a bluetooth receiver, and stopped using the dock because It couldn't provide enough power to the phone due to bad design.
iBolt replaced the dock for me free of charge, and I started using it again sparingly when I need a charge, but there has always been a nagging issue I'm not sure how to fix.
When Car Mode is enabled, as in it says car mode enabled in the notifications, it pulls the bluetooth media (pandora HTCmusic or gmusic) to the external speaker.
The second I take it off the car dock, or click disable car mode in the notifications, pandora/gmusic/htcmusic goes right back to the bluetooth receiver.
Running Newt's ICS atm, but I've had the same Issue with Venasaur 3.0 to 3.2
I don't use the stock HTC car app, I have Carhome V3 set as my default car app.
So Far I've tried
1) going into the car app settings, and choosing my bluetooth headset as both the default phone and media device. Didn't work.
2) Disabling the stock car app in the app manager. Didn't work, the Notifications said car mode enabled, asked which app to use, and then pandora played over the external speaker.
I had already upgraded to ICS before I got the bluetooth unit, so I'm not sure if this happens in GB or not. Anyone able to test this?
This isn't a BIG issue for me, as I have two other power outlets to charge my phone from in my car. Just sorta an annoyance.
Hopefully I can let you know in a few days here. I have the iBolt dock too. Ssame story, got the replacement one from their support because of the charging issue. Anyway, I've been using a crappy old tape adapter in my car, just ordered a bluetooth adapter and should have it soon.
I wondering if it's a Sense thing. Back when I was on stock GB I couldn't figure why BT kept quitting on me in the car. I kept closing out of the HTC car dock because it was stupid. Well, it turned out that closing the dock app automatically shut off BT. I froze the HTC car home app (Car Panel?) in TB and didn't have any more problems. These are the kind of things that make we wish for AOSP/AOKP! I'm using con's rom now, though.
for me its not so much the Car home app, but being in car mode (Icon in the notifcations) that kills ONLY Bluetooth media.
BT works fine for me. iBolt dock, rooted/stock (GB), Carhome Ultra as the launcher. I use BT all the time in the car, for streaming audio (Subsonic/Pandora/etc.) through a Moto T605.

Android Auto/Bluetooth Issues

Has anyone had any success with android auto and the V10? I have not been able to connect to my NEX4100 via android auto AND bluetooth....
I think there are general bluetooth issues. I have a 2014 Cadillac with CUE Bluetooth and the V10 connects fine but no media can play. Calls work fine. I've tried many of the tricks that helped with the LG G4 (turning media audio off in settings after connecting then turning it back on) to no avail.
Between this and the force restarts, I may return this phone and go with the Nexus 6P. Also annoyed that verizon is selling the Qi chargin back as an accessory...
I had the same issue with my 2014 Jetta and the V10, took me 30 minutes of restarting bluetooth, turning the phone off and on, turning the car off and on and finally I switched my car to FM and the bluetooth connected to also support media audio. After that it worked ok. No idea what's up with the bluetooth but for my wireless headset it paired without issue. Seems picky

Same strange issues here.
Paired no problem to a 2015 Honda Accord. Unable to pair to a 2011 BMW X3 (however the HTC One M8, M9, Samsung Galaxy Avant and Light all pair no problem). And it paired no problem to a 2016 BMW X3.
And at the gym, it disconnected from the bluetooth headset while I was using it. Wouldn't reconnect until I powered the headset off and back on.
I've got the nex4100 as well and I have had no issues at all. Everything works as it should.

I don't know. Others in the thread seem to be confirming the issue your having but I seem to be the only one with the exact same head unit. Do you have the update for the head unit? My S5 had issues before the update. Update is kind of old but it did help with my S5. And Android Auto is working fine.

I am up to date on the 4100. So i swapped it out today and now it works with Android Auto, however it still does not work with bluetooth which is super odd.. to my understanding when you plug the phone in to connect to AA it still transmits the audio over bluetooth. Pioneer said it could be something wrong with the media bluetooth profile or something. Anyways i guess im stuck until they fix it. Maybe when android M comes out.
I don't know about Android Auto, but I definitely think the V10 has Bluetooth issues. I traded my Galaxy S6 Edge+ in for a V10 a week ago. I notice the Bluetooth audio is consistently "skipping" on both my car's audio and my Bluetooth headphones. Both devices worked flawlessly on my S6. Sometimes my car will even completely disconnect from the phone and I have to go through a complete reset/re-add process to get it back.
Hoping a 6.0 update will come soon and fix this issue.

Just an update as I just ran new cable in the car for the new phone. Everything tested out fine for me. The car is an 02 Camaro that I don't drive often now that it's cold outside but after hearing your problems I wanted to make sure everything was working the way it's supposed to. I don't think bluetooth audio while on Android Auto worked at all but Google play works just fine. Bluetooth audio was flawless when not connected to Android Auto. Tested it on and off Wi-Fi. Good to hear your better after the swap.

I'm having problems connecting to my 2015 GMC Sierra (GMC Intellilink). I can connect, connect automatically, make and receive phone calls, but the bluetooth audio for music DOES NOT WORK. Most of the time, when I try to play a song via google play music or Deezer, the head unit in my truck immediately goes BLACK for about 10 seconds, I hear a whirrr of an internal fan, and it starts back up disconnected from the phone. The phone is causing the head unit to fail & restart. Sometimes it doesn't restart. It'll show the progress bar of the music, as well as on my phone. I can pause, play, next song, etc. but NO AUDIO comes out. It's just dead silent.
I'll let you guys know what my dealership says, as it's in service right now for this issue. I'm hoping there's an update for the software :/
When I bluetooth over to my $300 Sony x-7s speaker, every 10 seconds or so I get a loud static pop. Luckily I kept my note3 so I just use that until an update (hopefully) will fix the issue, so I can listen to my Howard Stern on the v10. I am surprised they didn't push an update on or near release date. Maybe they are going straight to Marshmallow.
So i have an update after having a week or so to play around with it. Although I cannot connect to my NEX 4100 via bluetooth I can use google play music via android auto. Also i cannot use spotify on AA UNLESS i hit play on google play music first then pause then try to play a song on spotify...... very strange.
I'm glad it's not just me... Same weird bluetooth issues here with my Mercedes E63 AMG and the COMMAND unit. It was working flawlessly with my last phone (Xperia Z3.) The V10 is nothing but a headache so far. The following problems are happening:
Won't connect at all, and hangs.
Connects for calls only, no media.
Connects, instantly disconnects, cycle repeats.
To fix it I either have to keep manually connecting from COMMAND, until it randomly works. Or disconnect from the phone, and reconnect again. Or turn bluetooth off and on. On the note of which, half the time I do that, it hangs. Love the phone, but I'm going to return it if this goes on.
Further note: I even took the car in to the dealer, and paid 150 bucks to get the latest firmware updates done on it. That didn't fix it either. Tried my Xperia again, still works flawlessly. Ugh.
I had an interesting issue with bluetooth.
I paired it to my 2015 Jeep Overland.
Music from SD Card played fine.
Then tried pandora. Nothing worked. Disabled bluetooth and pandora was fine. Went back to local mp3s from SD card and they would not play now.
Had to un-pair and pair it again. Then mp3s worked.
Played pandora and nothing and that broke mp3s again.
Then I tried my g4 on Sprint. Pandora worked fine.
Also tried Tune in Radio and that worked on v10 over bluetooth.
I think it is caused by Binge On from t- mobile downsampling the stream on pandora and the Uconnect radio does not like the bitrate or format.
I did read t-mobile will downsample streamed movies.
So folks with bluetooth issues, what are you testing with?
I have a less standard setup. I connect to my 2012 Cadillac system as a phone only, and I have an aptx bt dongle attached to the aux port that I'm connected to as a media device.
My phone connects to both simultaneously, and hands the phone back and forth for calls and music. It works flawlessly, and the audio quality way better than any OEM bt streaming that I've ever heard.
I have a Pioneer DEH 80PRS in my truck and it has connected and works perfect just like my G3 did. It always auto connects when entering the vehicle and hands off between streaming Tune in radio or from the SD card using the Android music player app and a phone call no problem. Hopefully the guys having problems will get a fix when the phone is given some MM goodness.
Same issues with Bluetooth and my 4100nex. Calls work, Android auto works, Bluetooth music does not. I'm in my 14 day window. This may be a deal breaker for me. Kinda regret ditching my note 4 for this.
Yall think it will get fixed with an update, or are we permanently screwed?

I am having the same problem with my LG V10. It won't stay connected to my Lexus 2015. The only thing I found that would work is if I keep the phone unlocked.
looks to be an issue with LG

Same issue between LG V10 T-Mobile and my Bluetooth audio on my 2014 Kia Optima SX. I also have similar connectivity issues between the phone and the Microsoft Band. Similar reports on the Microsoft boards of same Bluetooth issues with the Band and V10. Sounds like a problem on the LG side to me.

Bluetooth problems

Just picked up my C5 Ultra, was happy until I tried to use its bluetooth with my car's built-in system (Mazda).
I have two problems:
- continuous stuttering to the point it's not usable, usually starts 1-2 minutes after starting to play music
- when trying to make a call, the phone doesn't route the call to the car, it shows it sending audio to bluetooth device, but no sound comes it also doesn't respond to the call end button in my car
Anybody else with bluetooth problems? Strange thing is it's only my car, it seems to work fine with my bluetooth headset. And there were no issues with my car with my old phones.
same problem here
Thank God someone posted this. I also have a bluetooth headset and from time to time, there's some stuttering then the music stops playing. To fix this, I have to turn off my bluetooth in my phone and restart my bluetooth headset and pair the two again.
I thought this issue is only limited to audio devices. I bought an LG watch urbane and from time to time, the watch gets disconnected. When I try to pair it again, it won't connect even if I try several times. It will only connect if I restart my watch and try to pair it again.
I also have a Moto 360, and there's a lot more random disconnects with this phone than any other phone I've used before. However, it does normally reconnect very quickly. But I did have to disable the vibrate on connect/disconnect because it got to be annoying.
I've given up on my car's bluetooth and using another bluetooth receiver and aux-in to my car's stereo. It seems that the older the bluetooth device, the more likely to have issues. Bluetooth 3.0/4.0 headsets seem to work fine.

by the way, I have tried my watch urbane connecting to my huawei 4x and it doesn't get disconnected randomly. If it gets disconnected because I left my phone from another room, it will quickly get connected again when I'm near unlike the C5 Ultra that needs my watch to be restarted to be able to connect again.
Check In settings -> xperia connectivity -> throw settings -> Auto-select wirelles option if it is close. if not, close and try. Maybe this help
Not working with my Huawei Watch, it gets paired but inmediatly disconnects asking "add as trusted device?" and after that it's imposible to reconnect. Any help will be will be welcomed.
This phone honestly sucks in many ways. I love the hardware but the software and the cpu is the problem on this phone. Bluetooth sucks, slow processor and ...yea..slow loading on everything. I know it's the phone's bluetooth that disconnects my bluetooth earphones and car audio because it never happened on my Nexus 6. We'll just have to wait till Sony releases Marshmallow on our phones.
Bluetooth cuts in and out when paired
Updated to marshmallow and my Bluetooth still cuts in and out when paired to my boss mini speaker .Sony really has to fix this if they want to remain in the competitive cellphone market. If any suggestions on how to solve this issue please help.
After the update I am also having problems with Bluetootn. In sleep mode Bluetootn off. Accordingly, all the time the connection is lost with the Sony SmartWatch 3 hours. Tired of this problem

Yup, bluetooth shutting off is causing all sorts of problems with my Pebble smartwatches too. Basically made them completely useless because of the disconnects soon after the phone is idle.
I'm pretty sure it's tied to the Doze function in Marshmallow, but even when I disable Doze for the Pebble watch app and bluetooth share app, I still have issues. I even got an app called "Disable Doze" to completely turn off Doze functionality. It seems to help, but I still have occasional drops.
Bluetooth seriously sucks on this phone...
Found a solution
I found out what causing that bluetooth disconnects on my Xperia C5 Ultra Dual. It's when wifi and bluetooth are turned on at the same time. I turned off wifi and bluetooth connection is now stable.
My pebble also was disconnecting and it was annoying with all the vibration and it wasn't event reconnecting. But after I turned off the wifi bug is gone. I read that this is a common bug with Xperia Sad...

I'll have to give that a try, I stopped using my C5 because I couldn't stand the bluetooth issues anymore. I'm using, of all things, my 4 year old Nexus 4 now (which I should say works perfectly...)
bluetooth of sonyc5ultra is worst working in connectivity . useless , disconnecting from blue tooth device by its own. Getting irritating by bluetooth issue.
Same Problem here also
I have BLUEDIO bluetooth headphone, it disconnect after restarting bluetooth in my sony c5. When I try to pair it again, it won't connect even if I try it again and again the whole day. It only connect if I restart sony c5 and try to pair it again.
