Auto silencer app? - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

Is there any app that syncs with google calendar and automatically shuts off your ringer, or sets your phone to vibrate while you're in the meeting or something along the lines of that?
I used Buzy on my OG Evo and it worked great, but I tried installing it on my evo lte, and for some reason it just force closed every time I tried to run it... I believe that it's not compatible with ICS, or sense 4.0, or both
I tried busy me, but either my settings were a tad wonky or it just doesn't work
Any suggestions guys?

Im not sure if this app will help is called phone silencer in the play store....you could time it for the amount of time you wanted on silent and then it will go back to loud

Hmm, I'm looking for something more automatic..
I need this in case I forget to silence my phone before work or classes, and the synchronization is nice because since I already use google calendar for everything, no extra steps are necessary on my part (like timing the ringer for each day)
also when adding an impromptu meeting, I just need to add it to my calendar and it silences my ringer when it's time

Automatic? Nothing will beat Tasker IF you set all your appointments in your calendar with a certain title. For example, I put 'Work' in my calendar entries and set up a tasker profile to detect if there's a calendar entry by that name, if there is, it will automagically set my phone to vibrate (and also set one to automatically reply to texts with 'at work, I'll get back to you later' if anyone tried to text me.
If you're interested I will post the profile I have =D
EDIT: I figured I will post the profile for those who want this anyway, you will need Tasker, get it from Google Play here -- or the author allows for a 7 day APK trial from his website here. Installed the app? Good, launch it and follow these instructions:
New > Profile Name > OK > State > Calendar Entry
Under title put what title it will match, for example putting in "Work *" will trigger this profile if you have a calendar entry that starts with Work (Work SDFHOH will also trigger it), use * as a wildcard. Other parameters can also be set if you wish, hit the ? button to see what each does, but the only necessary one is the title. Hit done.
A task selection should automatically pop up. This is what tasker will set your phone to do when it detects the title we set in the previous step. Hit new task, name it if you wish. Hit the + button.
Audio> Silent mode> Chose mode (Vibrate or On (completely silent))> Done
Next step is optional but I like to add a visual queue telling me that the profile activated. Hit the + button again:
Alert> Flash> Enter text you wish to display i.e. "Vibrate mode on".> Done
Hit test if you want to make sure it works, afterward, hit Done. Now tap on the action we just created, it should have a green > arrow saying something like "Silent Mode On/Vibrate/Off" and tap "Add Exit Task" (this will automatically take the phone off of vibrate when meeting/work/school is over.
Hit New Task and name if you want. Hit the + button.
Audio> Silent Mode> Off (or Vibrate, if you always keep your phone on vibrate)> Done
Again the following is if you want to add a visual queue showing that the phone is no longer silenced:
Alert> Flash> Enter text you wish to display i.e. "Vibrate mode off".> Done
Hit done and apply. You're done
Basically what we did is create a Profile that detects if the calendar has a certain title, if so, it will enter the start task and once tasker detects that the calendar no longer has that event active, it will automatically apply the end task.
It should look something like this:

This app is very powerful, you can create literally endless tasks (I have one set to go silent upon arrival at my favorite movie theater, go into silent mode if the phone is getting power from the AC between certain times EXCEPT if I receive a call from certain people, turn my media sound down when I plug in my headphones and pull up a menu letting me chose from all my music apps, say the name of the caller) I recommend you experiment around. There's a site that has a bunch of profiles if you want any ideas located here. Enjoy!

Thanks! I'll check it out.
Is there any way for tasker to silence the phone for all meetings in a certain calendar for google? or during all meetings described as busy?

Yes it's possible. Instead of setting a title, leave that blank and under availiable select No go activate when you're busy OR under calendar hit the little search icon and select your calendar.
Sent from my Evo3D Shooter.

Search the market for "smart silencer". I've been using it for almost a year now.

I actually use Tasker for this. This works fine on my Evo 4GLTE (did a backup and restore from my EVO 4G).
However, the application does have a learning curve. Look the application up online as it's paid for.

I downloaded tasker and tried to set up auto silencer, but it actually said that 'this feature is unavailable for your device'....

I highly recommend Shush (free from the market). It's not "automatic", but what it does do, is when you turn your ringer down, a pop-up lets you quickly pick how long the phone should stay silent and lets it turn back on after that time period.
It's super fast to use (less than 3 seconds to mute and set a time) due to a smart and clean interface. A very nice app, in my opinion.

Don't mean to resurrect a somewhat old thread, but I use Silent Time to automate silent mode for my classes. It doesn't do it initially automatically, but you just set up the event once, what time and days you want it to be silent, and it will do it endlessly until you delete the event or uninstall.
I know its not as automatic as you'd like, but I thought I'd suggest it anyway.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'm going to try to use busy me again, and if that doesn't work I'll just use this

[APP] Profile Switch for Phone, Wifi, Bluetooth and Data [1.17.0.0 - 17.06.2011]

This project is no longer developed!
Profile Switch is a small program that stores up to 99 different settings for Phone, WiFi, Bluotooth, Data-Connections, vibrate, silent, eg. and create shortcuts to switch directly. Up from 1.3 you can switch automatically at certain times and days. The complete profile will be changed only with one click.
Every profile can:
switch phone, bluetooth, WiFi and data connections
auto run on two different times every day or only on selected days
check your appointments if there is a category to disable auto run
switch back to another profile in a given timespan
start up to 3 programs
close up to 5 processes
change the system and ringer volume
change the ringer script
change the backlight settings for batterie and ac power
add a shortcut in startmenu to itself
disable auto starts of profiles if one 'all day event' with selected categories is found, you can select up to 3 categories
start a profile if a appointment with selected categories will start or end, you can select up to 3 categories
Additional you can:
disable data in roaming
switch to a profile if the phone comes back to the home network
run a profile once after a given timespan
disable all autoruns up to a given day and time
start a profile if a pc-connection is detected or lost
start a profile if a headset is connected or disconnected
use seperate scripts to vibrate if new calls, emails or sms are incomming
use separate script to vibrate for reminder (appointments and tasks)
use categories from your contacts to mute (or not) incoming calls
The pictures are from version 1.14.0.0:

I only tested this application on my HTC HD2, it works in portrait and landscape mode. If you use this on another device, please check the features carefully, especially the block of data when this option is used.
You will find two links in the startmenu folder:
- Profile Switch - the application
- Close Data - a little helper, shut down existing data connection without any visible window. It does not prevent new connections are established (the same funktion like "Close all connections" in the app.
You can edit the language files in the program folder and/or create an new one. For a new translation just copy the 'english.lng' to 'french.lng, spain.lng ...'. But edit/translate only everything after the '=', not on the left side of the '='! Save the file in unicode-format.
Please note:
Requirements: .NET CF 3.5.
For update only install the new version.
Enabled network connections in the settings menu ('Do not switch networks' ) prevent these connections for any switching.
Shortcuts are saved in startmenu\ProfileSwitch\Profile name.
Backups are stored in the progamm folder as 'Backup_YYYY_MM_DD_hh_mm_ss'.
Restore a backup will delete your shortcuts stored in startmenu, these must be set new.
If you stored a profile as shortcut, the profile name cannot be edited until the shortcut is removed.
If you uninstall the application, please delete first the saved shortcuts.
If you want to use automatically switching enable this funktion in settings - Autorun settings ('Activate switch on time').
Set time to '00:00' will disable automatically switching for this day.
Important: If you for example sitting in an airplane, you must disable this feature! Otherwise it can turn off the flight mode and your phone on!!
Using 'Profile switch once' will ignore any settings of 'Activate switch on time'.
If you set the autoswitch time in more as one profile at the same time, only the first profile will switch. The rule is: 1. Run once, 2. The other times up from profile 1 to 99.
Don't worry about a new entry in your autostart folder. CheckProfile is only used to set the next autoswitch after reboot or after turned on the device. It don't stay in memory.
If you use the settings for system and/or ringer volume: My device (HTC HD2) has the option 'Only use one volume'. If you select this, the device will not show this correctly, if different volumes for system an ringer are set in the profile. Hope this also works correctly on other devices.
Special icons for each shortcut are now separatly. Please download them for your operating system. Windows 6.5.X - store the files in the applications subfolder 'Icons', the files for Windows 6.1 must be stored directly in the progam folder.
If you change icons for profile and the shortcut already exists, any links to them and the shortcut itself must be deleted and be rebuilt, otherwiese there are no effects taken. In Windows 6.1 you can't edit/change them!
Special Icons are only shown for the first 10 profiles.
If you get an error while saving a shortcut to your start menu like this: 'Saving the file failed' - please remove all special characters from the profile name, it's used for the file name.
Please do not restore any registry settings manually, always use the backup and restore function. If you restore parts of older entrys - the key names and values can be changed automaticly by an update. In this case you must delete the complete section "ProfileSwitch" or restore an older backup created by ProfileSwitch before you manipulate the registry.
If you select any program or process for closing with a profile, this program must be running currently, otherwise it will not be displayed.
Please use the function "Close program" very carefully. Only select processes you know!
The timespan you set in "time to look back if the device was turned off while starting a profile automaticly" must be smaller then the smallest time between two autorun times.
What the program does not and probably never will do:
Switch the band between GSM and UMTS (auto): There are too many differents between several devices.
Profile switching based on location or GSM tower-ID's: To do this, the application (or a little bit of this) must constantly stay in memory and check the location.
Support for any PIN code protected unlocking the phone.

To use this new functions, first you must find out the vibrator-adress of your device. Change the adress value and hit 'Test', your device must vibrate.
The script is: 1. value=timespan for vibrate, 2. value=timespan for silence, 3. value=vibrate, 4. value=silence, and so on, times in milliseconds, separator=','. The additional last value is the repeat value (0=without repeat), this value is always required. E.g.: 300,500,300,1000,3

how can I use the "one click change"? can I make shortcuts to switch directly to "profile 1" or "profile2" etc
Thanks so far

Hmmm. Vibrate or silent eg. are simply. I think volume adjustment is very difficult for me. First i must find a solutions for this, working properly on diffrent devices. (Eg.: Two slider for system and ringer or one slider for both)

Sounds like your .net is missing something! Do you use .NET CF 3.5?

Looks like very good software.
The minimum is:
volume adjustment - separate for ringer and system
profile based on - appointment, time + bonus - location bases - GSM base stattion number
backlight adjustment -
switch for enabling & disabling wireless - data, wifi, BT, phone
just look at the ageye.de G-profile, that is the most powerful profile switcher at this time, but unfortunately it is paid application. But the best one.

Yes, I know G-Profile. But it often goes online, that is nothing for me. So I've written this small program itself.
Looks good - am going to try this out.

How do i set the English language file. I just deleted the "Deutsch.lng" in the install folder. Still struggling if it still has a setting but it's all German.
EDIT:
Nevermind i found it! "Sprache" It's looks good. Thanks!
Keep updating this great app! A MUST HAVE.

Well it is of course your decision, but my thought is, that profile software must have function is time based switching. I want to have 3 or 4 different profiles a day based on time and I can't imagine I am switching manually.
Anyway, the backlight and volume switching are truly basic functions.
And the last suggestion, please set the default language to English. I am from Czech rep. so German is not problem for me, but maybe for the rest of the world it is.

Already flashed MIUI ROM? OK, pick up your phone now, let’s start our happy journey of MIUI ROM.
The first step: selecting apps
Various apps will greatly enrich your cell phone, so firstly let’s select the apps to your taste. Use the Android Market and download what you would like. If you are using a backup app and restoring apps from a previous ROM, only restore the apps and not the data. Otherwise that will create a lot of force close issues.

After copying, do not forget to select the option of “Turn off USB storage”, otherwise "File Manager” in the phone will not be able to find the sd card, as it is being occupied by the computer.

Changing wallpaper: Click Menu button on the desktop, select “Change Wallpaper” to replace the wallpaper. In addition to the existing wallpaper in the phone, thousands of pieces of wallpaper are also available online.
Changing theme: Themes make great changes to your interface style. Click “Theme Manager” on the desktop to select the theme you like. Also, more online themes are available online.
Selecting ringtones and more: click “Settings” on the desktop to set call and notification ringtones. In “Personalization” under “Personal” tab, you may find more options.
The third step: it’s time for some advanced techniques!
Well, you are no longer a beginner now, so let’s learn some advanced techniques.
Adding widgets on the desktop: press the Menu button on the desktop, select "Edit Mode", and then click the icon on the upper right corner to access the interface of “Add Widgets”. Choose your favorite widget on the top, and then drag it to the screen below.
Using folders to manage desktop apps: in the interface of “Add Widgets”, drag [Folder] to the desktop. You may drag multiple apps into folders to classify them. After opening the folder, you may click the edit icon in the upper left corner to rename the folder.
Using toggles panel to improve efficiency: drag the notification panel down from the top, click "Toggles" to go to the toggles panel (It goes to the toggles panel in default of notice.) On the panel are listed the most commonly used toggles, you may click to quickly enable or disable a toggle. Long press on the icon will launch the settings for that icon.
Guest mode: enable the “Guest Mode” toggle in the panel, and your calls and text messages logs will be hidden, and all installed applications cannot be removed. You may have a try when you need to show your phone to guests or children.
Importing contacts or binding accounts: you may use some apps to import a batch of contacts, or bind Google account directly in "Settings"> "Personal"> "Accounts & Sync Settings" to sync contacts at any time.
How to print screens? Press "Menu" key and "Volume Down" key at the same time to print a screen. The printed image is saved in the directory of MIUI in the SD card.

First!
Sorry, just had to. Nicely done sir. Once this is complete I will flash immediately.
Will disabling the proximity sensor keep the screen from turning off when you make a call? Otherwise, sometimes you can't get the screen to turn back on and have to do a three finger reboot. Also, how do we disable the proximity sensor? Thanks man.

Is there an easier way to add Apps to a single folder? It's very time consuming to drag/drop every single app one by one into the folder.

I'm having major trouble getting out of airplane mode. Whenever I toggle the switch to turn airplane mode off, it turns itself back on. It was randomly turned on originally just from me rebooting my phone from recovery. Is my only option to completely wipe all data and start all over again?

[APP]NavBooks - Audiobooks for Wear ?

This is probably the last in my collection of Android Wear media players. I'm trying out making a mobile app as well. If this works out, I may make something similar for NavMusic and NavCasts. Make sure your Audiobook has the same name and author to sync between devices.

Hello Joel,
thank you for your offer. I only had the chance to test the app on my phone but I like the design. Some buttons are not as self-explaining, as they could be. The left top drop, the timer on the right, but I like the clean look and the audio recognition worked flawless, even through my tes file had problems before with some apps. So that was perfect.
For now, I had two bugs.
My phone is a z5 compact Android 7.1
If I only select one audiobook and by accident press the next file button, the app crashes.
The second bug happens if I have an audio file active and close the app from the app drawer. The controls still pop up from time to time. It's a little weird if the task manager doesn't show the app anymore, but I still have the control panel.
The next days I'll try the app with my Huawei watch 2 and come back with feedback. I hope that helped.

He Vegatta,
Thanks! That's exactly the kind of feedback I was looking for. I changed the skip button so it does nothing on the last file instead of stopping the media player. I also updated the Media Player Notification so hopefully won't appear randomly, though it should act separately from the app. Just dismiss it when paused to stop the media player.
Would a tutorial screen on the now playing help to describe button functions or are there better icons that could be used?
Looking forward to hearing what happens with the watch app.
Thanks!
-Joel
Hello Joel,
I can confirm that the app is now working without any crash. Thanks for the update. I tried everything I could think of and standalone the app works flawlessly.
The symbols are absolutely fine. I would either show a tutorial at first opening or a help button, which shows the button functions.
I also discussed the layout with my wife. In our opinion, the play button should be a little bigger, as its the most needed one. Aditional we would leave a little more space between the lower buttons and the menubar. Such a player is often used in a hurry, so you could prevent miss presses and with a bigger play button, a quicker stop is possible if someone speaking suddenly.
The phone app I tested a little as stand alone. I like the layout. Actually its one of the best I had on the watch. It played some test files without a problem, but I had no time to copy the same audiobook over yet for synchronizing.
What I noticed is that I sometimes scroll up and end up at the top of the list suddenly. For long lists that might be useful, but somehow it's too sensitive for my taste. Esp. with limited space on watches, I don't need to reach the top so fast.
The second problem is the next file button. That only works with added folders. I actually thought that it also selects the next audiobook on my list, if I added more than one and if I am done with all chapters, but I have to go back one step for that. Probably a matter of taste though.
As an idea, you could make the cover pressable, which would show it on the screen and hides the controls, till I press the picture again. I would like that sometimes if while biking I want to avoid pressing a button by accident.
Synchronising Ill try at the weekend. I hope to have time then to test that feature, but otherwise, the app is nicely stable and already working really well. Thanks!

Hey Vegatta,
Thanks for the feedback. I just released an update that should address most of theses issues. I adjusted the button sizes a bit to make the play/pause button larger as well as the skip buttons and left the timer and invert buttons the same. There is also a tutorial when a book is played for the first time.
You can also tap the cover to make it cover the now playing screen. The skip buttons are working as intended.
Hey, sorry that it took so long to get back to you.
I tested your app some more and also got your navmusic app, as I really like the book one.

Phone app: I don't reach the play screen since one or two updates. I click it and it opens and minimizes directly. Interesting enough, I can start the file then through the navbar controls.
Watch app: Same problem. I click a file and it directly goes small to the bottom. If I am fast enough to click the small bar I get the play window and can play the file.
Feature request:
For the watch app, Is it possible to get the same player layout like in the music app? Like two screens, either it shows the cover and if you slide you get the controls. I listen while riding a bike with the watch speaker and sometimes I hit some controls. I imagine with the same method like in the navmusic app that could be prevented. Maybe I would even start with control mode but make it so that if you want, you can hide the controls via sliding (basically opposite to navmusic which starts for me in cover mode and you slide for controls).
The sync option I couldn't test as of yet, sorry. The explorer app and my watch os hw2 don't work together sadly. It connects and shows my watch and even copies files over. But in the end, nothing changed on the watch. Same from the watch, a while ago I copied music files into a folder fav and not into music. I click copy in the app, go to the music folder and paste and nothing happens. Its a really weird problem and I am not sure how to give a better bug report fo that one.
Thanks again for your fast changes and hard work. Even with some problems, I really enjoy your apps. Navbook is my go to on phone and watch for audiobooks now and the music app is working great too (even though I wish there would be also a search bar for finding a position in the song, sometimes I just want to hear a part of a song again).

I tested your app some more and also got your navmusic app, as I really like the book one.

Thanks for the feedback!
I just pushed an update that hopefully addresses most of these issues. I added the cover resize on wear and fixed the bug where the audiobook stops when it starts.
Keep it up!

Hello Joel,
thanks for the fast update. All my problems from above are solved now. I'll try to test the synchronizing feature as soon as possible. Thanks again for your hard work.
Hi Joel, Just got NavBooks from play store and also a Google Play Books audiobook, which I downloaded to my phone. I have Navbooks installed on both phone and watch (Ticwatch E). How do I add the audiobook to NavBooks? What folder do I navigate to? Have you posted instructions anywhere? I also got NavCasts and it is syncing with my Pocket Casts.

Hey,
Thanks for showing interest in the app. Currently you have to use NavExplorer or something else to transfer audiobooks to the watch. Also, I believe Google play audiobooks might be drmd and are definitely in root, so I haven't looked into automatic syncing with that yet. I am out of town right now, but I may be able to find a solution for root users. Please let me know if you have any other suggestions.
Thanks!

Joel, thank you for this app. I desperately needed this for paddleboarding this summer!
Are you taking requests for future improvements? These are for the watch app only, as I could not test the phone app.
Bookmarks: Could I ask that you add some way to add and navigate bookmarks from the watch, maybe add it to the play screen or a second screen if you swipe right? This is very much needed for audiobook apps.
Accessibility/usability: Blue icons on red background are very hard to see even for me, and I have perfect eyesight. Chances are many users will use this app outdoors, where visibility is even worse. Any chance you could make the icons white on black background, and also increase the size of all but especially the skip buttons?
Thank you in advance and thanks for even creating this app in the first place!
PS: app crashes on my phone - can’t at all use it there, Xiaomi MiA1. Will send report over Play store. Would be great to have the synching option, though having this work in stand alone on the watch is so much more important for me.
Hi Xendula,
Thanks for the feedback and encouragement. I am definitely looking for feedback and improving the app. Bookmarks sound like a great idea. The colors for the playback screen are dynamically generated based on the cover art of the book. I could pretty easily add a setting to just use white instead of getting an accent color though.
I thought I had the Xiaomi crashes fixed, but probably people with those phones just stopped using it.
I will try to fix these issues and get back to you as soon as possible.
Thanks again!
-Joel
Thanks, Joel!!!You rock!
Gotcha about the colors, I just had the bad luck that the book I tried has a bright red background and baby blue icons. Someone with red/blue color blindness would not see the icons.
Any chance you could also add a way to override the generated background and add an option make it default to black? Otherwise there my not be enough contrast with lighter colored covers. I just listened to this book, and neither the generated, nor the white icons on beige background would give it enough color:
Don't worry. Got you covered. The latest update adds a high contrast option as well as fixing some bugs. Please try the mobile app again to see if I've fixed the bug. I will try to add bookmarks soon.
Joel, MUCH better on the watch side since the update! Thank you! When you implement the bookmarks, any chance you could also make the skip buttons larger? I think you may need to get them closer to the play button, otherwise they may be too close to the progress bar and accidentally hitting that bar would suck, with no way to go back. Or maybe flipping the progress bar and the chapter header may help prevent accidental hits. Would it help if I sent you pics of of what I see?
Phone app update success: it now opens and plays back. How would I make it synch book location with the watch?
I can’t thank you enough for this app and your continual support of it!

Wonderful. Tested on New Balance RunIQ and works! THANK YOU!
Is it possible to have navbooks play all files in a directory in order? That way, when one part ends the next plays? That’s how audiobook software usually works, and maybe there is a way to already do this in Navbooks and I don’t know how? That way, the bookmark would carry over no matter which part of the book you are in.
I went paddleboarding with Navbooks this weekend and it was AWESOME, until my battery died.

It should play the files in order. How did you select the audiobook? You should be able to long-press on the directory that contains the files to open them as a single audiobook and seek through the whole thing.

Sorry so late. I had to return the watch I had bought for this due to a few defects, and I can’t make NavExplorer work on my Vapor. Not a problem on My other watches, but the friggin Vapor won’t accept files. At the end of my witts. Do you have any pointers or have heard of this issue before?

There has been a bug on the Huawei Watch 2 with Wear OS where the app is not granted write permissions even after the permission has been granted. The only solution I have been able to find is to open the permission settings in the Watch settings and toggle the storage permission off and back on. Could you try this and see if this fixes the issue. If it does, I will probably add a warning for vapor watches.
Please let me know if this works!
Thanks.

Killing all apps when screen off!!!! ARGHH!

I'm losing my will to live just in the first few hours of using this thing.
OK - so, unless you have a Chinese phone number, you can't log in to My Oppo which means, i'm told, you can't change the launcher and the built in launcher is a real piece of human solid waste.
Anyway, on to the subject...
No matter what setting i select, it kills off tasks like Gmail, WhatsApp, Timely etc. when the screen turns off and doesn't restart them until i OPEN the app again! I mean, seriously1?!?!?!111ELEVENTY!?! WTF!?
I've done the following:
Turned off Smart Power Saver (ALL OF IT)
Just to be sure, turned off Smart Power Saver for individual apps
Used the old trick of turning Data Saver ON
For EACH app turned ON "Allow Auto Startup" and "Allow Auto Startup of Other Apps"
For EACH app, entered Power Saver, selected "Allow Background Running"
This is a COMPLETE show stopper and I can't fathom how a phone, that's built to receive messages when turned off, will NOT receive messages!
If anyone has ANY ideas, i could possibly fall in love with them!

Thanks but, nope, made no difference
surprising for me locking the app, giving it auto start permission and going in app settings and giving it the option to always run in background, works fine.

As for the launcher weirdness & other de-bloating,check here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/find-X/how-to/guide-adb-oppo-x-apps-safe-to-uninstall-t3818165
As for G-Mail working properly:
Go to the G-Mail app settings & ensure the following:
1) Power Saver: Allow Background Running
2) Manage Notifications: Allow EVERYTHING,then,if needed, close those toggles that might not apply to your usage.
3) Check permissions & allow as you see fit.
4) Allow Auto Startup
In RECENTS,pull down on the G-Mail app to lock-in
In PHONE/SYSTEM SETTINGS:
Notifications & Status Bar > Manage Notifications > GMail App & verify the same as accomplished in the GMail app settings.
Further down the screen, verify all of your GMail account(s) are present & showing the type of notifications you want.
In PHONE/SYSTEM SETTINGS:
Go to SECURITY > PERMISSIONS & verify all desired permissions are granted,by both headers PERMISSIONS & APPS.
In PHONE/SYSTEM SETTINGS:
Go to BATTERY:
Ensure Power Saver is OFF
Ensure Smart Power Saver is OFF
Custom Power Saver: Go to GMail > ensure Allow Background Running is enabled (A LOT OF REPEAT/REDUNDACNY,AIN'T COLOR OS GREAT,LOL)
App Quick Freeze:Go to GMail & toggle it OFF (This is likely the culprit,I missed it myself on initial set-up).
Hope this helps............... :good:

Hi!
Thank you for taking the time to detail the reply, very much appreciated.
For the launcher, i'm at work now but will certainly try that when I get home and I really hope it works. Already have Nova installed so, ready to rock.
Re the incredibly aggressive power saving:
I did ALL of those settings yesterday, including the lock of active apps but, it made no difference. Now, what has me REALLY confused is that I woke up this morning and WhatsApp is now running constantly! When I went to sleep it was NOT working!! I mean, WTF!?
I've now locked a few more apps (Messenger etc.) to see if they mysteriously change to constant running. So far, they are not but, maybe there is some system process that's run on a period that changes that? Very, very strange.
I'll update that Bloatware thread with my experience later today with thanks/comments.
Again, thank you and have a cracker!

If all you want to do is remove/change system apps without having to register, use the procedure KOLIOSIS posted above, works PERFECTLY.
Nope. The phone is STILL killing apps. Now it's decided in the last 30 minutes that no matter what I do, Android Wear will not be allowed to run!
I'm so f*#cking sick of this phone. Fantastic hardware f##ked but incredibly aggressive power management. Hate it.

Similar issues here with my Samsung Gear S2,strange thing about it is just yesterday,I was apparently having a typical pairing/usage,getting all of my notifications to show up on it.
Now,a day later, the only connection available is for phone calls, the one thing I do not use my watch for,SMMFH....
The one difference is after I paired & set-up my watch, later that evening,I paired my Jabra Elite Active 65t buds, the connection is solid.
Gonna unpair the earbuds, reboot the phone,re-pair the watch & see what happens.
If this remains FUBAR,it is likely the straw that's breaking the camel's back, this & the limit of 5 user apps to have auto-start on boot,WTF...............................
I know, right? Five auto-start apps?? Ffs! Give me a warning and then let me overide and do what I want!
Gmail?? It's syncing but will NOT stay on "Push" and keeps dropping back to 15 minute syncing.
Android Wear loses connection, I go in to the app and it asks me if I want to "stay connected?". It reconnects then 20 minutes later the same **** happens again.
Oppo, this is MY phone. If I wanted BS restrictions I'd have bought an iPhone.

No luck with the watch being the only BT device paired,I did everything,reboot/checked all the FUBAR Battery/Notification/Permission B.S., + the Gear Manager app & still only the phone profile in BT settings......
I've dealt with some s*** U/I's & bloatware, but, this tops it all, makes an iPhone look appealing......
This makes the VIVO NEX FunTouch look like a clean U/I by comparison.................
As it becomes a more common device, maybe a custom ROM might save it from eBay?

I'm doubting I'll hang in there long enough to find out, less some software updates to fix some of the madness.
The 5 user app limit on auto-start on boot is the biggest PITA, if that wasn't the case, the rest would likely work as it should.
No notifications in the status bar is a close 2nd on the list, tied with the default launcher B. S., all of this nonsense exists to coerce people to use OPPOs ecosystem & the various 3rd party apps they fold into the mix....
I went into this phone & the NEX with my eyes wide open, with the expectation of being laden with what is SOP in China, but, especially with this phone, I can't believe the lengths Oppo goes to for the sake of having you totally enrapt in the system, enough to even make Apple & Tim Cook blush.
Guess they'll go to any lengths to data mine, from the fillings in your teeth to the cavity on your backside......
