How do I change prl on ics without a pc? - HTC EVO 3D

Ok so ##775# no longer works and I'm away for the weekend where I only roam and service is God awful... I'd like to flash another prl for the weekend. Any ideas? I don't have a gb rom or backup to use on me either. If I'm screwed, then oh well and I can wait until I'm back home.

i was wondering the same thing a little bit ago. ##775# doesnt work on ICS..which sucks. hope someone can answer this one.

Have you tried to change the EPST.apk that has the ##775# option?

Have you looked into using the older epst.apk with more options? I believe the one from the EVO 4G?
Dang, I'm too slow... DarkManX4lf beat me lol

Actually yes, I did try an older epst. Doesn't work. I actually just downloaded a sense 3 rom over night (speed under 100 kbps) and crossed my fingers it didn't time out. Flashed that, installed my older epst app, installed my prly, and went back to ics... Still curious about an easier way but hey I got it going. Thanks for the suggestions though.

I use QPST, just hook up phone and push prl (after you setup QPST). but that seems to be the easiest way for me...

Don't you need a pc for that? That's what I would have tried if I had access. But thanks.

Been looking for solution myself on ICS, but as you found out EPST does not work. Since I don't always have access to a PC that has all of the QPST stuff installed I just load up a back up of a GB ROM and change it, then go back to my ICS ROM.

[Q] Any way to force PRL update on Thunderbolt?

I'm trying to get the latest Verizon PRL so I have the best shot of getting 4G on the current pre-alpha CM7 build. Search has yielded no way of forcing a PRL update, though. Most threads say just wait for it. Anyone know of an alternative method?
Reboot. That's the only way. U can't dial #228 or whatever its different. Reasons? It has a similar card its a lot different then phone that don't have sim cards. :/

Thanks I already was aware of that. I rebooted multiple times today and am still on 15008 though. Oh well. I'm wondering if running the leaked radio might be my issue in getting the new PRL...

i'm on stock radio and still haven't gotten an update myself.....but i'm pretty sure the leaked one will not receive it.

In a Sense-based ROM open the dialer, enter ##778#, then hit dial. Choose view mode in the menu that comes up, then scroll down to PRL and click that. Your current PRL will be listed at the top.

Use rootexplorer and place it on ur system/app folder. Need to change the permissions too..
Evo[3D]
What do the permissions need to be set too?
I didn't set the permissions to anything beside what it is assigned. I deleted the original epst, reboot then copy pasted the downgraded version to system /app and its working like a charm.... For me.

Can anyone who has it send me.A pm with a link to download it? Thanks!

I know SteelH rom 1.01 has it. I downloaded the rom, extracted and pushed EPST.apk to /system/app in recovery, wiped dalvik and rebooted.
Now not roaming on verizon towers.
I feel like I should know what this feature is but could somebody enlighten me? What are the benefits of using the old version opposed to the newer one? Thanks!

You can type ##775# and apply a verizon prl, which would allow you to use 3g on verizon towers.
Better signal that way.

Wow! No ****? So once you load the .apk (or whatever) and dial ##775#, the PRL is altered and will seamlessly use 3G from Verizon towers as well??

I just tested - it works.
Thanks for the info! Thanks button as been pressed
I had this working on my OG EVO; however, I cannot seem to get it to work on my 3d. I have tried the 00001, 01337, and 31337 prls. Each one tells me verzion cannot authenticate my phone.
This is a common error. You have to call sprint and have them reprovision your phone on the server side. Just tell them that can't make phone calls or text.

What roms have the old epst with ##775#?

Like the title states. All roms I have used recently do not have the old epst, and I am trying to flash a prl. What can I do that on?
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
For starters it has to be a Sense rom. And if you're on a sense rom, you will need to make sure that that epst is installed. (Most have them) If it doesn't, you can find it floating around here somewhere.

The old epst is cool for PRL changing, but crashes when you try and edit WiMAX settings. I may remove it from my ROM.

[Q] Broken wifi after new roms

Hello all!
Long time reader here.
I've been looking for answers to this for several hours now and haven't been able to find anything that works.
I bought my Photon new about 2 months ago. Immediatly I rooted and unlocked it, with the thought that I was going to play around with custom ROMs as I did on my Epic 4g.
Anyway, this evening I decided to go ahead and put a new ROM on. I did the usuals, delvak, formats, etc.. I started with Joker's Skinny rev1. Install went great, but I was unable to use wifi. I couldnt even turn it on. It just says "Error" on the wifi settings menu. So I did some research and I found out that this is a common problem and simply needed a dhd.ko file to be replaced. So I did via 7zip and reflashed. Still no wifi. I then tried to give ACS's ROM a try, and same thing. So again, I replaced the dhd.ko file and reflashed. Still no glory. I also went ahead and re-unlocked the bootloader again just in case(read a few issues of that messing with wifi).
So needless to say, I can't figure out how to get my wifi back. I'm at a complete loss. Does anyone have any ideas? Also, if it matters, I live state-side. I don't have anything frozen either. Just a freshly installed ACS ROM.
Thanks for any help you guys can offer.

Downloading now. Is it also worth mentioning that mt 3G seems extra crappy now?

I really need to update skinny. I plan to do a source build and edit it to death. Cm9 has my free time tied up. It won't be too much longer and I'll get everything going on cm9. Luckily rocko roms are turning out great. Eventually I'll go back and update my blur roms.

Yeah. CM9 is looking nice, but I can't be bothered with all the script stuff right now...and I love my camera
Scripts have nothing to do with your camera. It simply changes a few things to make it faster. Great for stock rooted roms

Oh I realize that. I was just saying that I dont want to fool with scripts to get a ROM going. And that i also like having a functional camera.
Why is the rom you pointed me to so heavy?! I think it said 427MB. Biggest ive ever seen!
Any ideas on what is causing the wifi issue?
Sent from my MB855 using XDA App
The radios are sensitive. The wifi driver must be compiled to the kernel you are using. In skinny unlocked it is. Skinny complete is the newest and has an awesome web top modification. Uncompressed its 2 gigs.

Well not completely working lol. The wifi keeps dropping connection ever minute or so. When its doing this, its also resetting the cdma radio. Im missing a crap ton of calls. Only way i know i am is bc of the voicemails being left. With wifi turned off, all is well.

It did. But I already knew that. I wanted to use a different ROM. Was trying to figure out the wifi issues instead of going back to stock and forgetting about it..

I'm having the same trouble with Skinny. I flashed the skinny14gedition and everything seems to work except for the wifi (error). Still little new to this but what is an sbf? My phone came with 198_6 not 7, should I still flash to that or is there a wifi fix for skinny? Thanks for any help.

Changing PRL's

Any way to change the prl while on JB or do I have to Odin back to stock first? Can we get the fassy into diag mode on JB?

Yeah I've been wondering the same thing. I've searched around in the past and the only reply I got was, it works fine just look at the numbers. But mine has never once updated correctly.

I've never tried an automated update since I'm using my fassy on a different carrier than Verizon. I use modded prls anyway, so I flash them myself from the computer.

So is there a place I can get the normal vzw pros and flash them myself then? I never even thought about that.
