Official Motorola ICS demo videos - Motorola Droid RAZR

I haven't seen anyone discussing these demo videos yet.. (but delete this thread if they have already been posted somewhere) I haven't tried the 4.0.4 leaks yet, so I don't know how the features in these official videos stack up to those ROMs.

Look What They're Hiding
If you go to URL displayed in the Japanese video, it brings you to a 404 error BUT the URL of the error page ends in:
/Android-ICS/Android-ICS-US-EN
(bold added for emphasis)
Of course, it may have been this way for some time now; can't really conclude too much.

Does bbc iplayer radio (flash) work?

Hey,
I'm wondering if the hero can play radio content from bbc iplayer website? I've heard that there are performance issues with videos on iplayer, but is radio OK?
(By the way, I know about the beebplayer app, which is great for video, but AFAIK doesn't play radio shows from iplayer, the only radio it had on the version I looked at is live radio. So I'm asking about listening to iplayer radio shows using the iplayer website.)
If anyone in the UK want's to try this out for me that'd be great. Here's a link to a radio show from yesterday, so if this works hopefully everything will:
bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/b00s35z1
(I'm a new user so can't post links, that should have a "www" at the start of it really.)
Oooh, also, could someone check out whether this works on the hero:
news.bbc.co.uk/today/hi/today/newsid_8633000/8633988.stm
It's another clip of radio from the bbc, but looks completely different from iplayer, so could be using a different tech for all I know. (This is how they include audio clips in their news articles, including on the Today program's site where they have all the interview from each show listenable individually, which is pretty handy.)
Thanks!
Paul
Tried listening to 1xtra from the iplayer website yesterday,... No sound played.
Trying your links now though,... give me a few minutes.
I have just tried your first link in the stock browser.
Results are as follows:
- loading
- loading seems to freeze
- loading again
- loaded details of show (no sound yet)
- seems as though its trying to play but keeps refreshing its little window
Error - "Insufficient bandwidth to play"
This could be as I only have 2 bar 3g or following BBC's guidance you need wifi connection.
It looks like it wants to work though so if someone can test with a wifi connection.....
Nope,... Im trying with wi-fi,... No luck though. The 1st link loads up correctly, says its playing, but there is no sound and the time counter does not change.
Was the same using my data connection yesterday.
I'll try the 2nd one now,.... Dont get your hopes up.
Nope,.... Sorry,... Its a no go.
Just keeps loading, and loading,.... and loading!!!!
EDIT,....... Tried with Opera and says need to install Flash player,.... DAMIT!!!! All i want to do is listen to 1xtra,... and BeebPlayer doesn't work for me. Maybe we'l get a better browser with 2.1,.... or we'll have to hold out for Skyfire to be released.
That sucks. Thanks for trying though, and for the very speedy replies
beebplayer app now supports radio! only in the last few days though. oh and you will need the new version.

Unfortunately flash 10.1 isn't coming to the hero, because it's not fast enough:

Google Chrome to be the default browser for Android in Ice Cream Sandwich?

Hey every one I read a article this morning that was on the app Appy Geek but was originally posted on Tech Radar. But the article says.
A snippit of code posted on Google's Chromium Code website reveals Google's Chrome web browser is to be ported to it's Android smartphone operating system.

Here is a link to the article, Chrome finally coming to Android?
Now I think this might just make a pretty significant change to Android and the user experience with Android. I also think it is about time Google made Chrome part of Android, that is if this turns out to be true with the release of Ice Cream Sandwich.
What is your opinion about this? And any links to other articles about this would be awsome.
Edit: I decided to do some more investigation on this subject. Below are some more articles that discuss this topic. From what I have found so far we will know for sure about this and if it will just be a app or the new default browser.

Love it! Chrome is what I use at home.

Doubt it is going to happen anytime soon, but I love chrome and cannot wait for it to be ported to our phones.

I don't know about that now cause the article also says this.
Expect to see the official announcement at Samsung Mobile's Unpacked 2011 event in San Diego on 11 October - which is where we're also expecting to see the unveiling of Ice Cream Sandwich, the latest iteration of Android, and the Google Nexus Prime.

It's definitely a possibility, the Logitech Revue already uses Chrome.........I'm using it right now!
I have no real issues with the stock browser apart from its inability to download all files out the box.
Would be cool to see what They come up with tho, the firefox android version was pretty pants imho
I like the default Android browser, heck I have never even tried another internet browse for Android cause it is a very functional browser to me. Now when I was using Windows Mobile on my HD2 I tried several different browsers on it cause Internet Explorer just was notfor me.
Now having said that I do have two things I do not like about thedefault browser. One is the URL address box does not stay at the top of the browser pagewhen you scroll down. And the little icons you use to highlight text to copy and past or whatever you want to do with it does not really work that great. Even on my Acer Iconia A500 tablet, which I am using right now.
Shamless LOL
I added some more links on this topic to post #1, and this is a shamless BUMP!
I use Chrome everywhere now, except my phone, but I did think that the stock Android browser was based on Chrome. Am I mistaken in that assumption?
As for a fully fledged, actually called "Chrome", browser on Android, that just smacks of win!!! Especially if you can sync with the desktop version
Edit: Incidentally, I used to think the stock Android browser was the best available, after trying all the Market available browsers, but now I'm on MIUI and the browser is just amazing! (I do still want Chrome though )

I have never used BBM, but what I hear it is pretty dang good.
Plus from what I have been reading so far Apply had a epic fail today.
Hummm I sense a great shift! Yes a great shift in power I feel......
If Chrome comes to Android, there will likely be minimal change compared to the current browser. They're both based on WebKit, so the backends are identical. The only possible change I could see is to the UI, which is minimal on the phone side. Maybe we'll see proper tabbed browsing, like what's in Honeycomb.

Yeah that is like one of the main reasons I personally would like to see Chrome on Android. I have a Acer Iconia A500 and I love the tabs on it. They make using the browser so much smoother and user friendly to me.
One of the articles I read today was talking about just this point. I can not remember if I posted a link to it or not in post #1. But remember the browser in Honeycomb is themed to look more like Google Chrome bit it is still basically the same browser as the phone OS under it all. Point being this ICS is suppose to combine Gingerbread and Honeycomb into one OS. Also if Chrome or even a Chrome themed. Browser is intergrated into the Android OS it will be a pretty big change as the better internet browsing experience will help make Android more appealing to users.
I think this is a great idea, ICS with chrome. I just hope it will be fast!
wah nice if chrome is the default browser in ICS
The android stock browser is not bad, but it's only not bad,no more.
And It's not based on chroome, but it has webkit like chrome

Mozilla Aurora, flash issues!

Hey people of xda
so i just got my GNexus a few days ago and im totally back into the android scene already! Gots me some AOSP rom on it and root
Anyways, i tried out firefox / fennec now that my phone should be quick enough to use it properly (unlike my G1 ) and i realized it doesnt support flash. So according to mozilla wiki, it is only supported on 2.3, and on a bugreport i read that it isnt planned to be supported on 3.0 / 4.0, due to adobe dropping support on flash.
Anyways, i am wondering how hard it would be to get ICS supported for flash on firefox? I tried putting the flashlib in the plugin folder of aurora, etc. didnt work of course, since it's a problem in the sourcecode.
I realised that on youtube, flash seems to work! It doesnt actually display a flash missing warning or anything like that, on all the other sites.
So i was wondering if that is actually a flash implementation or a custom youtube player by mozilla right there?
Can anyone investigate? I don't have an IDE with all the fennec stuff set up, so i can't check on that. Would be awesome to get aurora with flash though, since it renders stuff really fast and it has a nice and smooth interface

I think the YouTube player is html5... I May be wrong

you are indeed right i totally forgot about this, but im pretty sure since the interface looks a tiny bit different from the flash version.
Anyways, i headed to a mozilla "plugincheck" site, which gave me the message:
"for safety reasons, firefox has disabled your obsolete version of flash. Please update to a newer version" (translated it directly from the german version though, lolz. but you get the idea)
I guess we have a hint right here! How do we get aurora to NOT disable flash?
(I still dont have the sourcecode set up anywhere, im a lazy person.)

[Q] No application to perform this action Eclipse rom

I am sorry if this is somewhere on the fourms but I wasnt able to find what I was looking for. I currently downloaded the eclipse rom 2.0.4 on my x2 and when I go to take a picture, I cannot do the upload or share function on it, it says there is no application to perform this action. Note I did run the v7 script too a few days ago, but I was having this issue before it. However found out that I can go to the gallery app and do it that way but I can as said share from the camera itself. I was wondering if this is something anyone came across? Also if this was on a forum somewhere that I missed please let me know and ill check it out. And if this is something that isnt a normal thing, id like to know if there is any fixes for it?
Thanx in advance.
that's because u are looking at the pic thru the hacked blur preview
go into the actual gallery and u can choose share from there
oops
sorry
didn't read entire post
yea its a normal thing
the.preview pic from inside camera opens up a hacked blue preview, and due to all the blue sharing components being removed it gives u that error

thanx ashclepdia for the information. I was able to get by that issue by just downloading the AOSP Camera from Eclipse roms site. It works just what I want and now better.

Xperia P video problem

Hi guys a found a very annoying problem when i upgraded my devices (Xperia P) firmware to Android 4.1.2 Build number: 6.2.A.1.00
The problem is that when i play embbeded videos and go full screen there was no control bar anymore. The pause/play and the seek
bar was also removed. Before the update everything worked perfectly then. I have tried using different browsers like chrome dolphin and even
the stock
How to produce issue
1. Go to a site (any site even Youtube!) with a video
2. hit the fullscreen button
There was this guy who reported it to sony but he also did not get any answers ( Sony said that it was the websites fault). talk.sonymobile.com/thread/143065?tstart=0 These are the pics from him:

sorry if i posted this wrong since im new here
Hey, have you found any fix for it? I've always thought it was Opera's fault, lol!
Guys, are us the only ones with this kind of problem?
Here is the picture from Sony's thread, I could not manage to take one from my phone
