So I have this problem regarding with WiFi and tethering or portable hotspot, my SGA was connected to wifi at home and suddenly it has no internet access even in our office, but my SGY can connect to wifi and have internet access. I've searched all over the net but still no luck Thanks in advance.
Insufficient info. Please state the rom, kernel and baseband.
It might be a kernel problem.

I needed to use connectify on my pc to get connected to same wifi with network acces
I have this sometimes
Same problems
But
Install connectify
And use the wifi of connectify (pc app)
Worked for me

oh !! i had this problem recently.. i have to remove the scripts and it worked perfectly after removing !
i had this problem too. i was using miracle v. 4 and static ip. i could connect to my network, but i had no internet

I've also removed the scripts in my init.d folder but still no luck now I only have 2 files in my init.d folder

Hi there, I have a similar problem where the WiFi on all 3 X10i´s that I own behaves like crap... After the 2.3.3 update they all connect to the router but they have limited connection, something that was NOT a problem back with the ****ty 2.1.
All other devices are getting internet connection except for my phones

For me.. from the moment that i update to 2.3 it was not working...
i tried other stock ROM like WB and Z... as same thing
and i didn't remove any apks

Again, I have a problem with connecting to the wireless network secure 802.1x EAP protocol. Since version 29.2 + are the problem,trying to connect to the network and after a while disconnects. (Worked on version 29.1).I installed a different kernels because I thought it was just this fault, but nothing has changed. (Tested on siyah, void echo speedmod etc.)
Is there any advice on this? Could it be the fault of the modem? Because I have no idea, and really need this network and don't want to change this system.
I would ask for help.

the fix didnt work on lightening 2.3 rom.. wireless didnt even get turned on
I have tried almost all CM7.2 Roms available here but could'nt find it working.
In Roms like that from FAT Team,
The USB Tether option is highlighted but when i click it
It says USB tethred and then next second itself it'll say USB not connected
In cm9by Maclaw, USB Tether Option is highlighted but it doesn't seem to do nything. Once i click nothing happens ;(
Then i was worried thinking My Ace has some problem so I flashed Stock Based Custom Rom and bang USB Tethring is working....
so is it normal ??

Or you can download clock work tether or easy tether from the market. It will give you step wise instructions 2 get it working. easy tether Works great on my phone.

1. samsung android usb modem
2. samsung android composite adb interface

Lol I didn't have to use drivers the last time I tried USB tethering via fat cm7 rom
Btw u tried zaqwankira's link? ?
Else Google "android 2.3.4 for Samsung galaxy ace androidflip.com '" in their guide they share the drivers those drivers worked for me while using Odin many times
P.S. : I m sorry I can't provide any links as I m on my mobile and my net connection is kinda slow...uploading to mediafire is impossible for me ..sorry bro but u try the drivers they share I m sure they'll work

USB tethering never worked for me in all the cm 7 Roms I had flashed b4 this one ..even my stock gb rom wouldn't allow me to tether ..I tried wired tether too on vo-1's rom ..never worked for me ...this is the only rom after stock froyo which has working USB tethering for me this was the sole reason why I switched from vo-1's rom

Btw [email protected] , my friend told me that androidflip link has broken ( it was a filesonic link and we all know what has happened to filesonic now ) samfirmware is your only hope now btw i just remembered i dont have the drivers with me too so i cant upload them even if i have a fast internet connect. Hi im using Siyah kernel 4.1.1+ with stock Rom and im having 32gb class 10 microSD card ...
When i try to copy data to SD Card thru USB ( MTP / Mass storage / Kies ) the transfer speed it damn slow like 1mb/sec
When i try to copy files from internal SD card and Ext SD card the speed it like 20mb/sec :silly:
Why is that USB data transfer slow ??
I checked the File system of Ext Sd card .Its Fat32 ..Also , Is this because of installing the new Siyah kernel ??
Also i used SD speed increase app from google play store , NO USE :crying:
please help me out

Problem could be with your Cable or USB Port.
Try changing USB Ports.
If you are Confident about USB Port working well.
Then Try changing a Cable. Always Use original One. And Dont use large cable as it would just Decrease the data Speed.

if ur using 'Extweaks' app with siyah kernel, then open the same select 'Misc' tab, scroll dwn to I/O schedulers.
by default u see 'CFQ' as I/O, change the same to 'Sio' then hit apply changes button.
then see for the transfer issue, it will be improved

when im screen locking my device , the current apps closes automatically
For example when i use kies -AIR and when i lock my device ...Kies-Air closes and connection is lost ...
Likewise the same for Wifi when i device lock wifi connection is lost ......so i couldnt do anything .
I cant download game data thru wifi and many issues like that please help me:fingers-crossed:

u should set it to 'always' instead of 'Never' since once ur phone screen is off then wifi dissconnects with it
ps- i really do appreciate ur iidea in asking the issue over here rather than opening a new thread for the same, that way u do aid in keeping the threads clean

Yeah use kingoroot for pc latest version..
Make sure ur pc is connected to web
