[KERNEL][ICS 4.0.4] Super Stock Kernel v3 {Gov,IOSched,FS,Net Features} 12-June - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro

Custom kernel with OC and all these features + more -> HERE
---- OLD POST -----
Q. Who would benefit from this?
Those who want to stick to stock kernel for Official ICS (4.1.B.0.431), but would still want to get the benefits of custom kernel with init.d scripts, and native root access and many features like different cpu governors, io scheduler support, more filesystems support etc!
Q. Features?
init.d support
ro.secure=0 (that is now adb has native root access!)
Device is identified correctly (both Neo and Neo V) in recovery
ADB access in recovery
Clockworkmod 5.0.2.7 (credits DoomLord)
Governors: Smartassv2, Intellidemand and OndemandX

super_stock_boot_v3_NEO.img <- NEO only
Please see new install instructions!!
super_stock_boot_v2.img <- NEO V
super_stock_boot_v2_NEO.img <- NEO only
Without auto-root (autoroot may cause some problems on rooted ROMS)
Stock WiFi modules
Required by only those coming from Night-elf kernel, CWM flashable.
Q. How to install?
Just as you install a custom kernel.
Steps:
1. Power down device and get into FASTBOOT MODE -> switch off device hold menu key & plugin usb. (LED notification turns BLUE)
2. check fastboot with "fastboot devices"
3. flash boot image
fastboot flash boot boot.img
4. Reboot with "fastboot reboot"
5. Enjoy!
How to enable/disable features?
This kernel sets properties to features so that they can be enabled or disabled easily
Code:
shardul.module.intellidemand=1
shardul.module.ondemandx=0
shardul.module.smartassV2=0
shardul.module.sio=0
shardul.module.tun=0
shardul.module.usbstorage=1
shardul.module.isofs=0
shardul.module.ntfs=0
shardul.module.hid_apple=0
shardul.module.hid_microsoft=0
shardul.module.ext4=0
Method 1: Edit /data/local.prop directly
Method 2: "writeprop shardul.module.isofs 1" on shell / terminal emulator for individual properties set/unset
Module will be loaded on next boot!
If you want to load module only for the current session, see this app!

@ shardul,
i have flashed the beta with Iscream 11 rom. everything looks good.
deepsleep, sd moumt with pc, etc. all well.
only i got different thing is phone vibrate two times while booting. once while transition between kernel logo to bootanimation, and second while end of boot as normal.
what has been fixed in beta 1a?

1. The first vibrate is when it enters recovery (so that you dont have to watch for the blue light)
2. Beta 1a fixed busybox re-linking, so that now the latest busybox is seen by the system.

Maybe I should give it a try lol.

Shardul can you tell me what is good in this ? means better than previous versions? like better battery life? but auto root is COOL

1. Based on newer SONY kernel
2. CPU Governors smartass2, intellidemand and ondemandx

This kernel is exactly what l ve been looking for! It's great! Thanks!
Sent from my MT11i

i want to give it a try.. thanks shardul

wifi does not turning on

If you were on night-elf kernel, please restore stock wifi modules..
This kernel does not do it automatically now, because i don't want to restore same version modules for everyone..

For those coming from night-elf kernel, stock wifi modules added to OP

Will this work on any ROM? i mean currently i am using your boot_ICS_plus_v5 kernel which is fantastic, so if i flash this kernel (4.0.4) on miui 2.5.25..will i get WiFi? and sorry for being newbish but what's new in the sony's new 4.0.4 kernel and do we have to flash Sony's ROM to get the benefits?
Thanks for the kernel btw

No, you do not need to update, unless you want to have the new governors
No wifi problems though if you update.. But choose the lite version

Thanks, but what are the benefits of having new governors? and what has been added by sony in this kernel?

Updated to v2, with close to stock ramdisk!!
Should solve some problems faced by Neo users. Please test and report!

I am on stock rooted ICS 4.0.4 with your v5 kernel, if I flash this kernel, will my root remain? Because you said you removed auto-root, does that mean I will lose my root?

No, you will not lose root!

Can you add EXT2, EXT3, EXT4 support?

Hy everybody!I saw no one ROM which working with Stock Kernel. So I made one
IT DOESN'T NEED UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER!!!

Based on LT15i Firmware 4.0.2.A.0.62 stock
Notification toggles added

Replaced the Default Launcher with ADW
New Kernel tweak optimized for performance
Automatic ZipAlign
Defrag SQL DB at boot
OOM Tweaks
GPS Tweaks
CPU Governor Tweaks
Android Internal Taskkiller tweaked
I/O Scheduler tweaks
Network speed tweaks & improvements
Removed lot of bloatware including FB Inside Xperia and all SE Widgets to make it lite weight
W7 PhonFonts
Zipalign apk for optimal performance
VM heapsize increased to 64M
MegaBass Tweak
Windows Manager tweak
Black screen call fix
Battery Tweaks
Themed Framework-res.apk
Battery % closed to stock
SD card speed tweak
Internet speed tweaks
Minfree handler tweak
VM/Sysctl tweaks
Host file (*Updated*)
Lot of new Build.prop Tweaks added
Mini Only: Modified hw_config to increase maximum backlight, and avoid the screen flickering error - without disable ambient light sensor.
Some tweaks only work with Custom Kernel! I tested everything with my friend's kernel, and it works fine! So I recommend to use with KrSH kernel!
Installation:
0.) If you have stock kernel: Get ROOT and CWM for your ROM.
1.) Download the ROM, and extract it to your Memory Card. If you have Custom kernel, you only need to copy the Update.zip.
2.) Restart your phone and get into CWM.
3.) Make a backup of your current ROM!
4.) Go into mounts and storage, and make format /cache, format /data and format /system. Go back, and go into Advanced, and make an Wipe Dalvik Cache.
5.) Go back to CWM Main Menu, and select apply update from sdcard.
6.) Now install the addons, if you want.
7.) If you finished with this, restart your phone TWICE!

Wishlist:
The Led notifications are too dim even for charging, can you add tweaking led notifications just as in CM.
Add File Manager
Thank you so much for the ROM.
But lights, I mean back & menu key lights don't glow.
xperia mini pro, your ROM with KRsH kernel.
hi,no chinese language in .how can i add to it?
Your rom's great. Everything's fast and the boot animation is amazing.
But Lights don't glow(keyboard, back and menu) in mini pro. And the notification LED is too weak. Please fix these (I'm not pushing you). Thanks, you're the man. I've been waiting so long for a rom on locked bootloader. I don't want to unlock as the stock is not very bad, so the risk isn't worth.
To get back to stock, can I just restore my last backup? And is it necessary to install recovery 'at step 6' again or can I do it afterwards?
YES please fix the lights.

No, it's just a software on computer which flashes the phone, you don't have to go on the recovery and manually flash the rom, just plug your phone, launch Auto-flash and wait for your rom to boot.
alternative install
if u are on a rom without media usb mode or if u do not like autoflash u can unpack autoflash.rar, in autoflash folder find boot46.img and update.zip. Copy update.zip to sdcard, boot device in fastboot mode, flash boot46.img, reboot to recovery (press home when blue light come), chose install update.zip, done.
lzyllp - thanks a lot for porting to ray, waiting a long time for latest doomlord recovery
First impression:
i used manual installation bcs i did not have media usb mode on miui. wha i can see everything is working so far, i have not used the camera yet.
but there is somethning less stable than it was on aire kernel (both on aire kernel for stock and miui), i could without any problems overclock my ray to 1600 and undervolt heavily, on this kernel i got often random reboot on 1600 without undervolting, 1200 is working ok, now i am on 1400 and testing
thx again for the great rom, kernel and cwm.
In power menu reboot to recovery does not work
THANKS!
You have created an interesting thing, I and fans of RAY - thanks you so much, the kernel has USB-OTG support effective, a ROM version works faster, I think you'll be more noticeable improvement in next time. Thanks you so much!^^

yepp, it works, 1400 stable without uv so far, going higher now
Edit: 1500 working, when i try 1600 device reboots, as i wrote before sligthly less stable than aire kernel for my device. Now i´m trying uv on 1500.
Edit 2:it´s better and better, i found out that i need to have 806mhz on 1050mv otherwise device reboots on 1600 as top frequency. in another thread an user wrote that his device has "weak" point at 768mhz, maybe every ray has one frequency there the voltage must be hold higher, strange behavior
great rom!!

It's recommend stock kernel, if you use it with other kernel, it can brick your phone. Munjeni's v5 kernel isn't stock kernel, because thats have modified ramdisk.
so... if I have unlocked bootloader, what can I do?

Would it work with an earlier version of mujneni's CWM for unlocked BL ? Before the kernel modifications happened that is.
Look HERE

What do you mean?
ROM from S3V3N always been very energy efficient and cost effective. I personally use since he showed his works at FORUM android.com.pl
It may not always writes in his work from someone taking modifications, or scripts, but they are forgiven him: D
I recommend! stability, well-chosen scripts (no bends) and, as always, is effective as a whole visual look.
BTW. One surprise me that he does not want to put the subject here and share with you their work. You have to respect that he allowed to share, come on I can do on his behalf.
Greetings to S3V3N of Polish

Maybe due to a cocktail of scripts.... This happens on other devices with similar 'roms'
Hi,
before installing the rom, have I to wipe all?
after installing the rom, I simply restart the phone?
at the moment didn't install, I heard that there are a few reboots.

Touch recovery is not working with Synaptics.
Hey Klozz I've got a question. Is SDE using other wifi driver than other cm7 and need special kernel? I'm asking because I had some issues with wifi on stock nAa 14.

You have to use different directory for modules. I'm not sure, but it's something like this:
SDE: /system/modules
nAa-14: /system/lib/modules

This is false...
CWM 5.0.2.8 touch recovery have 2 different version... One for Cypress another one for Synaptics... The two touch panel have different max values for touch area... So need use two recovery and at boot procedure you need to recognize the touch panel type, then start the good recovery... check alfsamsung's ramdisk...

SDE use the same path to modules... SDE only need ICS DRM support to work some apps. Working to add ICS DRM into alfs... but need some permissions from alfsamsung and djnilse...
cheers

Hi TeamMex,
How come your github is well ... so obfuscated? I fail to see what you kernel contributes in there.
Could you show me e.g. the 'boost performance' fixes or the 'If u retire SD Rom not reboot' ones?
Thanks.

I'm uploading the sources since I have a bad connection is slow in climb is why even not complete the climb.
And that is why you can not find it as of the boost.
to boos I use
information from seeder.
There is a (theoretical) security risk, in that seeding /dev/random with /dev/urandom decreases the quality of the random data
check..
and adding some parts in ramdisk scripts.
if u like I send to u these scripts
Sorry my bad english,and sorry if my explanation is not very well understood.
@TeamMex,
Don't you even think it's a bad idea to incorporate something like seeder?
It is much easier for a user to install seeder, and if it isn't good, uninstall it.
What switches do we send the kernel to control it?
All these "kernels" now here are basically just the same with edited ramdisks.. What is the point?

first this not seeder really, are some function similar
and
What's the point of yours? It's obvious that all kernels are similar because they are based on the kernel sources Eclair .....
cheers...
PD: first read this kernel are for XPerience project...
@TeamMex
Do you have a plan to add Off-line charging in kernel ? Because I'm one who charges the battery when turning off the phone.
By the way I'm using XPERIENCE™ SEMC Debrand Engine MOD V3.1 running on this new kernel. Everything works fine.
Thanks
