[ROM][Player5]CM9 for INTL/USA/KOR - Bluetooth Compatible (23.09.12) - Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0, 5.0

CM9 for Galaxy Player 5.0 INTL, USA and KOR devices
Hi guys. I've been following the CM9 development in this forum and it seems as if JackpotClavin is trying to port the 3.0 kernel so the ROM development has slowed/stopped. I decided to try and port CM9 to the SGP and I managed to get it working a few days ago.
Supported versions:
23/07/12 Nightly is stable
20/08/12 Nightly is stable
23/09/12 Nightly is stable (Recommended)

Rom Downloads:
Stable rom: 23/07/12 ROM
Stable rom: 19/08/12 ROM
Stable rom (Recommended): 23/09/12
Extras:
Home fix kernel for INTL and KOR users
Bluetooth Patch
Tablet Mode MOD. You will still be able to use the phone UI. Choose the MOD for CM9 ROMs
ICS Navigation Bar (On screen buttons). Only works on 23/09/12 version
GApps (optional)
How to Install:
I am not responsible for your device. You are flashing this at your own risk! It works on INTL, KOR and USA devices but only Player 5.0
Make sure your device is ROOTED
Make a backup in ClockworkMod Recovery (not essential but recommended)
Push zip file to your SD card
Wipe data/factory reset - Not needed when coming from other versions of ICS
wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache
Install zip from SD card
Reboot system (This can take a long time so don't be too worried)
For INTL and KOR devices, reboot into recovery and flash Noisyfox's homefix kernel so you can use your menu, home and back buttons
Flash Bluetooth Patch
Flash GApps if you want
Enjoy

Everything works/doesn't work just as how you said for US Galaxy Player. Saw a couple new stubs in settings but that's the only difference between JackpotClavins work

Thanks for testing this on a USA device. I'll update the thread title in a bit.
There haven't been a lot of changes recently as most of the features are working for the galaxy S but I'm trying to get Theme Chooser working. I think the only way to do this would be to build it from source so I'm about to try that now

Hey do you happen to know if the Kernel 3.0 development is still in progress?
No sign of life on JackPotClavin's thread recently, and no thread mentioning the Kernel 3.0.
I just want to know if it's still in progress and if better, where it is right now in the progress bar? I'm not rushing anyone to do anything so don't get me wrong, but why don't we make a development thread for the Kernel 3.0 only, I mean everything of ICS is perfect except for this kernel, and there should be a place where all great devs come together to build an excellent kernel.
Thanks in Advance!

I think JackpotClavin is still working on the 3.0 kernel. You could PM him to find out. Currently I'm working on getting theme chooser working, but I might try and work on porting the 3.0 kernel so we can finally have a fully functional CM9 rom

Hey, I noticed that this ROM also has issues with rebooting whenever I try to access the Apps menu, however it only became an issue when I tried to transfer an app from the SD card back into the device in the Apps menu. I'm using version 5/26/12 btw.

Thanks for noticing this. I haven't really been doing any dev work for this rom as I have been working on my RemICS-UX rom. I'll try and find a fix for this problem as soon as possible

Rom is running spectacularly. You might wanna include the capacitive buttons don't light up, but that's not a problem.
I've been having problems getting my SD card to read correctly, Im pretty sure I'm going to have to format my sd card. So it might not even be a rom problem.
So happy to finally get CM9 on my galaxy player.
*EDIT.
Looks like the galaxy player is confusing system storage, sd card, and usb storage.
The system storage is correct, it seems as internal memory is sd card,
and my actual sd card is now called "usb storage" and I'm not exactly sure how this is working out, I'm having problems managing music and such.

First of all I'm very sorry for my late reply. I have been working on another rom recently. The whole sd-card stuff is fairly common across the CM9 roms for the YP-G70, but I'll try to fix it if I can
I have been very busy with my other rom, but I did say that themed versions would be coming soon, and I'm working on that right now. I probably wont have enough time to add too many features to this rom, but I'll try to get the themes working.
EDIT:
I have managed to get a partial red theme working. Most of the blue areas of the rom are now red in the system apps and the keyboard. However there are a few area which refuse to change colour so I'm not prepared to release the theme just yet.

My fault dude. I used widgetsoid to get a "refresh sdcard" widget on the homescreen, all is well! This is everything I wanted for the galaxy player, thanks so much.

Red and Black Theme added
My Red and Black theme has now been added to the OP. It can be flashed in CWM over the CM9 rom. It will probably work for any CM9 rom too
I have also added my Green and Black Theme. Same procedure applies.
Not too sure whether I should post these themes in the Themes and Apps section as I am unlikely to maintain them in the future due to other dev work I'm doing

In terms of hardware acceleration, is the 3.0 kernel really needed for it? Could we not stick to 2.x?

More themes may be arriving in the near future

How do you get back to the original theme without reflashing the rom? I want to be able to switch colors depending on my day

Currently you need to reflash the rom. I will create a CWM flashable zip which reverts back to the original theme. I am working on more themes now which I will also post as soon as I finish them
Stock ICS theme is available for download here .

Thanks for the link and great rom!!

New ROM!
New ROM (23/07/12 nightly) uploaded. The download link is in the OP

[Coming Soon][NativeSD] Portadroid NSD v6.0 (for NAND Roms)

***********************************
LATEST NEWS FROM OP
***********************************
(Always check back on the first post for updates from OP)
13-Jun:
With the arrival of Sense 4.0 in the NAND section, I thought it is time to release a Portadroid for Sense 4.0 (Portadroid NSD v5.0) soon... So far the major problems are sound and wifi which are still not working in NAND but at least I have got data and SD mount to work on SD boot... hope to get it release soon
1-Feb:
For all those who has been waiting for an update from Portadroid, I thank you for your patience. I am releasing Portadroid Ultimate v4.0 to support porting ICS NAND ROM only. I am disappointed that Oxygen ICS has not been released yet at this point in time for Portadroid. I suspect it will take even longer than usual since their developer Adamg had just become a father recently

Ported to SD Sense 4.0 from NAND section by sbryan12144...
All latest updates below in Red
Portadroid NSD is being put together based on the original FR/GB/ICS development work by these great guys listed below. All credits goes to them so please thank or donate to them first:
1) Darkstone: Source of inspiration for Portadroid. Originator of SuperRAM Froyo build with numerous contribution to HD2 Android. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=870518). Sadly he has announced to "retire" from HD2 and move to Samsung Galaxy S2
2) Takaaki, crawlingcity, cedesmith: Original initrd.gz for Gingerbread that enables RAM system (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=885985 & https://bitbucket.org/takaaki/leo-initrd) where I have have done some minor tweaking and modification. However, due to the sheer size of ICS ROM which causs instability, RAM boot should be temporary disabled with "SD_Boot" file until a solution (if any) can be found.
3) Tytung: All his HD2 Kernels and base ROM for porting ICS NAND to SD.
4) Ankuch & KAI: Fixes for many SD-related boot and ICS ROM-related issues.
5) 3dak: He said he was "lazy" so he created HD2 SD/MALDR System.ext2 Auto Builder V1.0 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1055923)... that makes me even "lazier" by creating Portadroid using part of his code
6) SyLvEsTeR20007: Graciously provided his server for hosting Portadroid SuperRAM GB previously.
7) Szczepanik: For creating a wiki for Portadroid (http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Portadroid) and putting it on xda news article (http://www.xda-developers.com/andro...-running-and-testing-android-builds-a-breeze/). Honestly I don't think this simple and humble tool deserve such publicity and work but appreciate all his effort.
8) Paypal Donor: (a)OMNISOFT. (b)TeaMsTaZ (c)yugoport - Thanks for 2nd donation(d)Toptip. Thanks for buying me a drink and supporting my work on Portadroid
9) All HTC HD2 Android NAND ROM and HTC Desire ROM developers for their great work on providing customised Gingerbread ROMon HD2!
What is Portadroid?
- Portadroid (a.k.a Port-a-Droid) is NOT AN ANDROID ROM!
- It is a tool whioch I build mainly with scripts that enables SUPPORTED ICS HD2 NAND ROMs to be booted via SD card on the top of your stock WM6.5 ROM.
(Theoretically, all current HD2 ICS NAND ROMs can be ported via Portadroid with the basic functions working listed below.)
- It is meant to be a self-service/self-help tool where you have to download the supported ROM (including new ROM revision) directly from the ROM developer thread. Do not request for any additional ROM features here as I am not a ROM developer. I can only try to support the basic functionalities listed below.
- I believe this tool is mainly for beginners or intermediate level users of Android on the HD2. Advanced user should migrate to install Android via NAND if possible.
- In addition to running Android, you can perhaps pick up some lesson on ROM porting by looking at my scripts and files I use. And feel free to use them (Remember to give credits to the great guys mentioned above if you use some of their work too)!
- I designed this tool so that I can be lazy! So do not expect frequent updates!
What are the basic functionalities supported by Portadroid NSD v5.0 (Sense 4.0 Ready)?
- All of the working functions from original NAND ROMs
- I may add my own patches/fixes for SD boot only
- Data is based on cLK (Sorry, I do not know how to support Rmnet )
What does not work:
Let me know if you find any of the basic funtions listed in NAND is not working in SD.
Pre-requisite & Min Requirements:
- As per all HD2 Android SD build... basically stock HD2 ROM and at least radio 2.08 and above (No HSPL, MAGLDR, CWM etc. needed)
(Recommended but not compulsory: hard reset WM6.5 before booting up with Portadroid for optimal performance)
- Support both EU and TMOUS version of HD2
- Format your SD card with SD Card Formatter if using it on Android boot for the first time (http://www.sdcard.org/consumers/formatter_3/)
Currently testedICS ROMs:
1) HD2 Sense 4.0a NAND
- Blackout ICS Primo v1.0 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1658936)
Please let Szczepanik know or update wiki page if you have tested other ROMs and the basic functionalities works with Portadroid.
Installation based on default settings and orginal zip package (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!):
1) Porting a New ROM
a. Unzip the downloaded Portadroid NSD v5.0 package and put the "ICS" folder into the root of your SD card
b. Unzip the downloaded ICS ROM of your choice and put all its content (eg. "data", "kernel", "setup", "system", "META-INF", "yn" folders and/or boot.img) into the "/ICS/root" folder (Please refer to the diagram here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14144102&postcount=89) if unsure of the exact location of where to put the folders)
(Note: If there are patches/fixes provided by me, please use these patch folders/files by copying and overwriting all the contents in the "/ICS/root" folder)
c. Edit startup.txt on cmdline if required (eg. change data_size=256 to another value if default 256MB is too small for your phone data storage). Note that based on user feedback, Magldr boot (vs WM6.5 clrcad.exe and haret.exe boot) do not support reading cmdline from startup.txt so your default would be 512MB.
e. Run CLRCAD.exe and then haret.exe
f. Depending on the size of the ROM you're porting, first boot from Portadroid NSD may take ~15-20 minutes (based on default to create a 256MB data.img and porting a 500MB size Sense 4.0 ROM). You will see the Sense 4.0 ROM boot animation after the "HTC" (or original NAND ROM) logo.
(Note: I recommend rebooting the first time you get into the ROM after the boot animation without going into the setup wizard. To reboot, long press the power button and click restart.)
g. Once back into WM6.5, run CLRCAD.exe and then haret.exe again.
h. Second boot should be between 5-8 min. You will see the original ported NAND ROM logo and ported NAND ROM animation (if any and enabled), hTC setup screen. Subsequent boot will be faster at ~4-5 mins.
(Note: As Sense ROMs are huge and consume a lot of resources on our HD2, it may take some time to fully "settle". Reboot a 3rd or 4 the time may help butdon't ask me why!)

Downloads & Changelog:
Changelog:
Update v5.0 (15-Jun-2012):
- Support for ICS HD2 Sense 4.0 Nand ROM only (ie. not created for backward compatibility for porting normal ICS, GB or FR Android ROMs)
Update v4.0 (1-Feb-2012):
- Support for ICS HD2 Nand ROM only
Update v3.2 (1-Dec-2011):
- Fix 3D Data problem for some ROM
- Enable full SD boot (ie exclude SuperRAM ROM load). User add a dummy file SD_Boot to folder "/Android" folder.
Update v3.1 (19-Aug-2011):
- Port HD2 NAND ROMs made for MAGLDR AND CWR only (ie. ROMs package must come with "boot" folder that contains "zImage" & "initrd.gz" files). CLK ROMs are not supported.
- Auto modify and repack initrd.gz from original NAND ROM for Portadroid SD/RAM boot. Use original zImage from NAND ROM instead of default Portadroid zImage on second boot. Keep ported NAND ROM as stock as possible to optimize performance from orginal ROM developer.
- Support all versions of Sense and non-Sense Gingerbread (2.3.3 - 2.3.5) without any patch files required.
Update v3.0 (3-Aug-2011):
- Removed SuperPartition concept as it causes some boot issue for some users. Maintain SuperRAM concept for light ROMs (less than 200MB) and use normal SD boot for heavy ROMs (including all Sense ROM).
- Repacked portadroid_nand.gz and portadroid_desire.gz to fix error on mounting yaffs2
- Added default_kernel_to_rafpigna (portadroid_sense.gz and zImage) patch files to support default kernel change from tytung to rafpigna when porting Sense ROM only
Update v2.0 (24-July-2011):
Important Note - v2.0 is implemented with concept different from v1.x. Portadroid v2.0 supports Gingerbread v2.3.4 for non-Sense ROM and Gingerbread v2.3.3 for Sense (2.1/3.0) ROM only. Please refer to Readme.txt for new installation/porting instructions.
- Added new SuperPartition concept to SuperRAM. Improved performance and support for porting Sense ROM.
- Changed cmdline control in startup.txt to only four: (1)rel_path (2)data_size (3)lcd_density (4)gps_zone
- Fixed SU/Root issues. Verifed ok with Root Checker.
- Added support for user to perform minor updates/fixes and kernel upgrades on current ported ROM.
- Fixed issue with hang on second or subsequent boot when porting.
Update v1.1 (31-May-2011):
- Change kernel_files structure to give flexibility for user to self-upgrade kernels based on GB v2.3.3 or GB v2.3.4
- Added support for rapigna kernel with kernel selection using cmdline 'kernel_type' in startup.txt
- Added support to clear cache (dalvik-cache) on boot using cmdline 'clear_cache' in startup.txt
- Added tytung fast gps fix lib patch v1.0 into gps_files folder to allow user to self-upgrade when new version is released
- Fixed permission/root issues on some ROMs (eg.NexusHD2) when installing apps that require root/superuser access (eg. root explorer, titanium backup)
- Fixed possible incorrect detection of Gingerbread version 2.3.3 or 2.3.4 in the build.prop file resulting in wrong kernel version being applied for some NAND ROMs (eg.Hyperdroid GBX12).

SuperWOW!!! Thank you... Downloading... as soon as i download it, i'll post results
Ok, i tried Typhoon's GB build and it doesnt work with that, i get stuck at the HTC logo after the first reboot. I tried with Tytung's Nexus GB and it works perfect ... im gonna give it a test for today and see how it works
Thanks a lot
didn't test ist yet but the idea itself is just awesome. THX!
OMG!!!! thank you will test it..
WOW! I spent a while a few months ago trying to convert NAND roms to sd but never had any luck. Thank you so much for this. I'll try crawlingcity's UD rom as there is no sd version of that.
Does this method support SD/MAGLDR booting for dual boot??
EDIT: I tested and it works perfectly via magldr, really fast and smooth with everything working
How about sense 3.0 or 2.1 builds?they can be converted?thanks
I'm still using 0.1 version Rom and it works great. So far I have only one problem. Sometimes 3G stops working for no reason, so I have to switch 3G to edge and then switch it back to 3G and it works. What could be a problem. I'm using US T-mobile HD2 with the latest radio. Also what is the difference between 0.1 and 1.0 version?
Excellent Job.
Running fine with HyperdroidCM7.
TY.

As it says in the first post, his is NOT a ROM. I understand your confusion, because I am currently using the GB v 0.1 but this is something much more flexible. Read carefully and you will see. I can't wait to go home and try it!

I tried Hyperdroid CM7 cLK version up to 2.0.1 by pongster first. Everythinglooked fine when I noticed my wifi was not connecting.
I tried Oxygen 2.x.x by Adamg and Team and found it couldn't find my network and wifi.
I tried booting with MIUI Nand, it worked good, but again no wifi and data for me.
using directly desire roms without have to port it to hd2 is a brutal achievement..

I agree with you, this has to be the release of the month... it could be the release of the year too lol
A very good tool to test those nand roms without flashing one...
Damn i love to have my HTC HD2!!! gonna check it out!
so long story short.. we can now download a rom from the Nand section and boot it without having the NAND requirements and booting via sd?

[ROM] DiXperia 8 'eXtraodinary' | Beautiful. Simple. Fast. Stable. | 17.08.2012

PROJECT COMPLETED 100% - NO MORE OFFICIAL UPDATES!
Guys, unfortunately this is my last project. I have something called Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, and my doctor said it will back (now I'm healthy) if I will use my hands like before. Maybe my development won't end forever, but my project like ROM ends 100% - lately I don't have much time on working on new projects like before - my study, my private life, much more other things. I met here lot of awesome people, and I won't leave you after this project will be full relased - my support should be long, and we will talk like before . Please respect my decision, and for now, just read this thread, cause this is what some of you waiting for . Don't think about my departure for now .

Music in lockscreen (and changing it with volume control buttons)
Walkman music app from ICS update for Xperia NXT (big thanks for w4lkm4n ).
Xperia Sola Keyboard (with voice options).
KGSL Drivers (at least in S-Style, Light and Gaming). UPDATE: In Stock-based version we have it "partly", read more if you want.
Create Yourself ™ - my own idea. You've seen this in all DiXperias - it's something like "you choose stuff and version you like, and if you need something, you just apply this like extra file. No need to delete tons of apps you don't using and won't" - it's simple, fast, and has potential .
Different themes, depends on version of ROM (see screenshots), Xperia S like, more brightness, some Gaming crazy .
Apps and firmware taken from Xperia S stuff, ports etc. (music, lockscreen, widgets, home, font etc.).
Scripts, tricks, tweaks - they promise lot of fun, lot of performance and lot of stability ^^.
I think it's enough but you know it's not everything - I'm sure I missed a lot of features, but it's up to you to test it yourself if you really want to using this ROM.
To don't make mess in this post I will update info about next screenshots, when it will be published. For now:
S-Style version -> CLICK
Light version -> CLICK
Gaming version -> No way to get this, cause of XDA rules about donation form. I'm terribly sorry that I didn't know about it, cause other Devs have their own donation options, and sorry again for ToledoJab, and thanks for clarify this situation . In short - DX8 Gaming version is NOT AVAILABLE AND WON'T BE.
Stock-based version -> CLICK
Now, it depends on which version you'll choose:
S-Style, Light, Gaming:
- Of course Root + Busybox.
- Unlocked Bootloader - that's why Stock-based version appear too .
- Required Kernel (look on Download).
- CWM Recovery.
- Baseband from official Android 2.3.3.
Stock-based:
- Of course Root + Busybox.
- Locked or Unlocked Bootloader.
- Stock SE official Kernel from official 2.3.3 (in ROM there is pre-installed Custom).
- xRecovery (should be 0.3).
- Flash through 2.3.3 based ROM - can be Stock, can be some Custom, no matter, important is baseband.
Depends on version too, like requirments:
S-Style, Light, Gaming:
- Download ROM (+ optional addons) and put it on your SD Card.
- Flash correct Kernel through FlashTool (.ftf file).
- Go to CWM Recovery and make Full Wipe and Wipe Cache, then clean your Dalvik, fix Battery and Fix Permissions.
- Choose .zip to flash and select my ROM. Wait...
- Done! Reboot and feel free to use this!
Stock-based:
- Download ROM (+ optional addons) and put it on your SD Card.
- Go to xRecovery and make Factory Reset, Wipe Cache Partition, Wipe Dalvik Cache, Wipe Battery Stats and Fix Permissions.
- Choose Install Custom Zip and select my ROM. Wait...
- Done! Reboot and feel free to use this!
DiXperia 8 'eXtraordinary' - S-Style version ~ |Beautiful|
DiXperia 8 'eXtraordinary' - Light version ~ |Simple|
DiXperia 8 'eXtraordinary' - Gaming version ~ No way to get this, cause of XDA rules about donation form. I'm terribly sorry that I didn't know about it, cause other Devs have their own donation options, and sorry again for ToledoJab, and thanks for clarify this situation . Golden-Suggestion -> If you like my work and you are using it right now, please glorify it on your signature with this graphic:
Golden-Suggestion #2 -> I want this thread clean best possible. Of course you can write here anything is connected with DX8 project, you can write some reviews, write about bugs if you find some which was not posted before, give link for some videopresentation if you made some, screenshots and more, more. But please - if you want thanks to me or anyone, click THANKS button, or if you want write some "little-offtop" go to Discussion Thread(thanks to Lakshay, ddddanger and all guys who will help them in support of my ROM ), where you can talk about everything, not DX8 only ^^.
S-Style, Light, Gaming:
- To get Xperia-theme-like lockscreen go to CM Settings, choose lockscreen options and select the first one.
- If you want Xperia Sola Keyboard first you need to open Stock keyboard, and configure it a little (do you want help or auto-correct etc.). Then just flash required addon and here you go ^^.
- Don't use any backup!
- After flash my system give it few hours for better stability and ~one day for applicate all scripts/tweaks/tricks.
- Flash every addon separately.
- Simple, but no one understand it. If you want to have better battery life just decrase brightness.
- If you have any problems with standard apps like FC in music, not working Clean Bass option, not showing notifications in lockscreen or FC in conversations - reflash ROM, don't forget to fix permissions and after few hours of using reboot few times. Should help.
Stock-based:
- Don't use any backup!
- After flash my system give it few hours for better stability and ~one day for applicate all scripts/tweaks/tricks.

-In my opinion, interactiveX, and frequency of CPU 384-1152MHz gives awesome stability and performance .
USING S-STYLE and LIGHT VERSIONS
Hi all,
As the winner of the contest held by DiKeJ, I got my hands on the S-Style and the Light versions of the ROM before all of you
So HERE'S the review for both the roms.
Further discussions and questions about the rom in the DiXperia8 Discussion Thread please. I won't answer any of the questions asked here.
Please try and keep the development thread clean.
Thanks !
Now, on first page, you see relase dates for upcoming S-Style and Light versions. Sorry for long waiting - it's the fastest date to get those ROMs, me and Lakshay trying to fix every bug or FC and make it fastest. Take care everyone.
First screenshots from DiXperia 8 - Gaming version (not even beta, but theme is 60% done):
Guys, I have some news for you:
-We have Walkman ICS new apk working from new Xperias (but not exactly -> it's modded style based on Xperia S music player - but you will feel like Walkman, so I can name it that way ) Will be as addon, cause my ROMs (S-Style, Light) was already uploaded, just need to relase it, date is in first post.
-There is possible fix for camera - as my ROM is based on some SDE sources (thanks to Achotjan) - we should create correct fix after relase for everyone who needs working camera, but don't need KGSL (we can't apply full KGSL inside Stock Kernel, that's why). More info about it soon, maybe until that we will make some progress.
-Gaming version is 60% done. Theme is ready 100%, scripts are good now, I need to only test some games, and apply many possible tweaks to increase gaming experience for this ROM.
Fingers crossed guys!
DO NOT SPAM THIS DEVELOPMENT THREAD...

PS: I need go to school, will answer every question this evening or night . Byeeee ^^.
It seems i'm the first one testint it (besides premium users) well, how can i star? fast......fast as hell, is the fastest i've ever tried, even in startup, but.... i had a problem when installing, i followed all the steps given by Dike, but, i couldn't fix permissions, why? because i couldn't find it in cwm options, so, i skip that step, everything seems to be alright, my first problem was that the phone didn't recognize my sim card, i rebooted few times and nothing got solved, i use flashtool to flash cwm recovery, i thought that maybe some files were missing, the same, no fix permissions option, well i had to unplugged and replugged my sim card en magically the problem was solve
about speed, is too fast through options and screens, i loved the new lockscreen and the animations. the theme is kinda shiny for me but is cool dike, yo did a great job, i can use to it
i only have a couple of hours with this rom, i didn't flash any addon yet, because dike instructions i'll have to wait. i don't like too much the battery icon but is not big deal
i came from donut hd, unlocked bl, doomkernel ov to 1113. i'll try this rom for a while, i always loved dike's roms
RECOMENDED.....A LOOOOOOT TRY IT RIGHT KNOW
thank you Dike =) as always, an awesome job =) have a nice day dike, and i'm so sorry about your medical condition, i hope you get well as soon as possible,
cheers from mexico pal.........came to visit us....we got beatiful beach, hot girls and tons and tons of cold beer hahaha =) thanks again

Well, I tested the rom first and the problems you are encountering, I never encountered them like the sim card issue and the fix permissions issue. Must've been some other problem with your phone

Well i dont know what happened about my sim card, like i said i came from donut hd, i have a lot of experience flashing roms, but doesnt matter the important is that is solved, about fix permissions i never saw that option in cwm rec, i searched in every menu, it must be in "advanced" right? Like in xrec, but it wasnt there, i had to use rom manager to fix permissions. I had a problem with camera, when i get into the scene mode options and set night or nocturnal (i dont know how is written in english versions) it gives me fc, i wasnst even able to open camera again i tried fixing permissions, restarting device, clearing data, the only solution was reinstall rom and never use that feature again haha

Looking forward to the gaming rom! Will n64oid work without lag on this?

The "FIX PERMISSIONS THING", you have to do it through the rom manager.
danniehayabusa Never had such kind of bug. Which kernel are you using ? The one provided with the rom ?
1eyedmonster You will have to check that out yourself mate !
IF YOU WANT THE ROM TO WORK PERFECTLY, YOU HAVE TO FLASH THE KERNEL PROVIDED BY DiKeJ. I HAVE TESTED THE ROM ON OTHER KERNELS TOO, BUT FOR THE ROM TO WORK PERFECTLY YOU HAVE TO FLASH THE KERNEL PROVIDED. THANKS !
hm?
Premium Users only? whats that about?
Great ROM , was waiting for it since announcement
I get FC when accessing settings in Messaging app
I flashed provided kernel, reinstall ROM, delete data in app, but I still get FC

I have the same bug here (light version). This work is awesome, thank you so much DikeJ... This rom reminds me the one of Wolfbreak with CM6 but a lot more improved !
Now you can have a break and take good care of yourself... Health is the most important.

Great speed & great work Dikej
Now for the bugs or fc's
Currently I have experienced 2 so far after checking each app & their respective settings as well as the system settings..
1. The messaging settings force close as mentioned above, I can confirm that
2. Cyanogenmod settings>Interface>Notification Power Widget>Widget Buttons, go a little down and then tap on Brightness modes == Force close
The brightness button in status bar does work though, only due to this force close you can't choose the brightness levels to be toggled
Try share with us, Quadrant final screen shoot test with Your game version!
Walkman
I have a question ?
"Walkman music app" work on stock 2.3.3 rom ???
Thanks !

1. Download ROM.zip and the Gapps package of your choice (links in 2nd post). Copy them to your sdcard.
2. MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP, dont be lazy
3. Clean up your sdcard (optional, recommended for clean base)
Delete every folder in sdcard/Android/data
Delete sdcard/MIUI (Only present if you come from another MIUI ROM)
This will delete all data for all apps! This will delete all your MIUI themes/wallpapers!
You can backup your wallpapers from sdcard/MIUI/wallpapers before you delete it!
4. (For ICS Users ONLY, if you are already on a jellybean rom, go to STEP 5!)
Extract the ROM.zip file on your computer and flash the boot.img with Flashtool or Fastboot
If you dont do this first, the ROM will not boot!
If you dont know how to do this or you dont have Flashtool or Fastboot installed, search the forum...
still problems? ask here ...
5. Boot to Recovery
6. Wipe Data/Factory Reset - Wipe Cache - Wipe Dalvik-Cache - Format /system
7. Install ROM.zip
8. Reboot
9. Go through setup process, then let it settle for a while!
10. Reboot to Recovery
11. Flash Gapps.zip
12. Wipe Cache - Wipe Dalvik Cache
13. Reboot one last time
This ROM has the same bugs as CM10 by FXP
So if you encounter a specific bug, you can always seach the dev thread first and see if it is fixed: LINK
- [BUG] Auto-Brightness doesnt work, drains battery, turn it off
- [BUG] WiFi hotspot does not work
- [BUG] APNs: Turn on Airplane Mode, then turn it back off, now it should work
- [BUG] Auto-Rotation: Turn off Auto-Rotation, then turn it back on, now it should work
- [BUG] All options under settings/sound/system will cause lag
- [BUG] Leds do not blink/stay constantly on. Issue with Phantom kernel.
+ MIUI Weather App:
Original MIUI Weather app only works in China!
Use Burgerz Weather App! Free from Play Store
+ Illumination bar fixer:
Use apk from here to get it working. It is turned off by default. Thanks @jioleight for the tip!
» Turn on MIUI Power Save Mode (Settings/Battery)
» Turn off WiFi-in-sleep (Settings/WiFi/Advanced)
» Setup CPU governor and I/O scheduler and Frequencies
Use a free app like No-frills CPU Control or, better, use an app which supports profiles depending on Battery percentage, like SetCPU.
Here is an example setup I use for SetCPU
For Battery between 100%-20%: Gov: wheatley IO: row @200-1000Mhz
For Battery between 20%-8%: Gov: lionheart IO: row @200-800Mhz
For Battery between 8%-0%: Gov: lionheart IO: row @200-400Mhz
For Screen-Off: Gov: powersave IO: row @200-200Mhz
I hope this helps :fingers-crossed:

So i guess i am the only owner of a Xperia P that loves MIUI and wants to discuss it
And I am also so excited for MIUI v5
So if no MIUI user is joining this, maybe the devs can share some info on how it is going with new builds, patches, progress?
I have the feeling that since jb is here, a lot more devs show up in the XP dev section, like @sijav
And we also got @dimon2242 and @Dron_GTR. Our russian friends :good:
I also dont want to spam the dev threads, so i wanna bring this up here. I was thinking miui v5 would be better based on CM10 than on stock rom. @sijav said stock would be better.
I wanted to mention that on MIUI v4 there were features on MIUI that didnt work on stock, like the CRT-off animation. Also it was a lot slower and more bloated because of the sony stuff running in the background and also MIUI at the same time. Also, isnt patchrom build to work with CM sources?

well I said stock is better because the bugs will be much less than CMs (or at least Radio will work, videos will run smoothly and tags can be used! )
compare to CRT-off animation I personally believe the radio alone is much more important than that
I have booted and have to say It was as smooth as a butter (really smooth) we can even remove the bloatwares as we want!
I am so excited on MIUI that's why I'm doing this everyday and patchrom is created for MIUI to create MIUI and it can be either based on cyanogen or stock rom,
and it doesn't need a source, any full CWM recovery zip rom will do
And thanks about this thread, It's a good one

I guess u are right
my main concern was performance but when all the Sony apps are gone, it could run just fine. also if I remember correctly @munjeni on the xperia go ran into problems he couldn't fix when building v4 based on CM9.1. that's why he switched to stock in the first place.
but also it meant that CRT-off was off the table cause it's kernel stuff. and it doesn't have to be like that on CM10. keep in mind that fxp are constantly improving their rom, while stock will stay as it is, for better or worse

Yeah it booted but imagine no Wi-Fi and no network!
My first goal is to get network working so I'm working at telephony smalis right now (too many conflicts! more learning than doing anything though)
smali is a dalvik virtual machine code which is so close to machine machine compare to human language looking at it may cause a great headache! atleast the methods are highly like the java codes so I can make a really small scene from it!
well I download the latest patchrom_miui in 19 days ago so it is for May 16, 2013 not sure about the version though but when I get this rom working, for a public release I'll use the latest MIUI apks and changes
problems are so much, the first thing is some resolution configuration are wrong you can see the corners isn't right and a stupid dark highlight in bottom in settings, in massages there's an empty space between header and base! I'll try to fix these resolutions problems as soon as I could fix the telephony (and Wi-Fi ofcourse)!
I want to share my works but have no IDEA how to upload my files to github! (if anyone is able to tell me I will do it, however my internet connection has downloads limits, It will be free trough 1 to 8 AM local time so I have to upload these in those times!)
about hard time, my exams will end in next weeks so I will have more free time after that, but until then I can't have time!
We need MIU V5
Actually I use MIUI GTR on my XP from a long time, we need more interest from the developers, the Xperia P is the most forgotten phone, XP has more capacity than many others, and already others phones like xperia U and Sola has miu V5, I can't believe that happens to us, if up to me I change my phone for a xiaomi, because I really love MIUI but I can't find it, I think MIUI is the best Android layer of all companies in the world, samsung, sony, lg, motorola, htc sucks!!!! Wake Up Please... We need MIUI V5 on XP

thats bad, I read that in your dev thread.
So you are trying CM10 base now?
Maybe this can help you? This guy is trying to port MIUI v5 based on CM10 to the Xperia U. From what I could gather from that thread, he has phone/network running, but has problems with themes and also wifi. Look here: (ROM)(PORT)miui v5 base cm10 on xu
For theme bug, this seems to be the solution:
VocaloidBoy said:
for theme Bug may be you forget insert file invoke-as from MIUI V5 to system/xbin/ for fix it I think just put that file to system/xbin and put this string set_perm(0, 0, 06755, "/system/xbin/invoke-as"); to updater-script

Yes, I tried out every new build that came to our forums, but I always came back to MIUI GTR, cause it is the best port of MIUI v4 for me. Others, like the stock based one were too laggy, and cm9 based stuff had too many bugs, like the "wifi-off during sleep" bug, that was never fixed in cm9.
And you are right, we dont have alot of devs here for our xperia P so we need to make sure the few we have, stay with us
You sounded a bit too demanding in your post, maybe it was unintentional... Dont forget that our devs do this in their spare time and get nothing in return for their work. So hammering on the thanks button every time a dev posts something for our device is a good thing to start

thats bad, I read that in your dev thread.
I hope your exams went well!!! Now nothing can stop you from dev'ing!!!

Yes, I know it my friend, I always push the thanks button ,I just got carried away by the emotion of the moment, and know that MIUIv5 is so close to us, Also I wanted to ask you something more, Using MIUI GTR 3.2.22 One day my WIFI stopped working at all too and I re-flash kernel, and nothing. I ultimately had to re-flash the rom too, but it seems to me a very tedious process every time this happens to me, so... there's no another solution for that bug??? Thanks for your time and your effort

were you able to log in with your xiaomi account? without one you cannot download anything since they locked down the store...
keep an eye on the other sub-forums, many devs now working on v5, so maybe someone solved something before you. no need to do work twice
also I wonder what's up with @dimon2242 and @Dron_GTR? are you in contact with them?

I am with you dude. I just wish I could help patching the bugs, but I am just a very enthusiastic MIUI user and fan
MIUI GTR 3.2.22? can you link me to the version you are using? because I am not sure if you use the same one as me.
well, wifi problem: I used a wifi app to see if the hardware is still working and getting a signal. all was fine, good signal. But as soon as I tried to connect I always got the message "can't connect to network with poor Internet connection" or something like that, although that was definitely not the case. deep in the advanced wifi settings on stock roms there is an option to set if you want to connect to such networks, but I couldn't find this on MIUI.
so you also experienced exactly that?
I didn't make a logcat cause me personally can't fix it and development had sadly stopped, so no use for that logcat...
EDIT: Edited OP to make it more useful. Added MIUI rom reference for our Xperia P I will keep it updated and if you have more ideas for this thread, just let me know!
EDIT2: @sijav have you seen this port and this port of v5 on the XU section? First one has wifi working

I told earlier that no wifi neither network or bluetooth is working so that means no connectovity to outer world
but looks like the themes won't do any hurts,
I'm making great success on getting network working but after I update my miui folder in patchrom to the latest I encounter countless problem that couldn't figure how to fix it,
after update I'm currently stuck at upgrading massage and also no usb connectivity when on boot animation or at upgrading or at recovery so really I can't find the problem and really not sure what the heck should I do!
about contacting well I believe people have their own problems me too, that's why I'm doing it so slow!
Dron_GTR already told me he wants to help but he has a great deal with his college projects so he can't do any help
about wifi I think I've got where is the problem, but I can't even boot this rom to make sure if the problem will solve or not neither adb is working to give me working information!
about your problems with wifi!
Just delete the dhcp folder under /data/misc/ folder! (you need a root explorer or something like that!
In miui V5 we have option to turn this avoid poor internet connection on or off!!
about those ports I have seen the second port and already made something of that but for first port thnx and will find out what will I get but before I make this stupid USB connectivity on I really can't do something

thanks so much for your work!!
maybe stay on the older patchrom folder then for now? you could always update to a newer version later once you got that one working...
and great to hear you will get help
just take your time, no need to hurry, there are more important things in life than a rom, I will wait patiently

folder deleted, thanks!
let's see if this happens again, because wifi works fine since last re-flash. but it was also fine the first time, then it suddenly stopped working.

oh well yes, I understood you, at least he said he WILL help you if he gets the time, so better than nothing I guess...
And believe me I really feel with you, it sounds almost like you have to start from scratch
by the way: one thing I noticed while looking at your github page: codename for Xperia P is nypon, not nypone...
As I don't have the abilities to help you on fixing stuff, all I can do is upload this image of a silly goose, which will hopefully put a smile on your face and keep you motivated

Good news MIUI friends! @percy_g2 seems to be willing to help @sijav with MIUI v5!
Lets hope for the best, @munjeni said his patchrom build for the GO is 80% done, rest is smali patching. At least all sources are online, so they can work together nicely

it will be released today for xperia P with fixes by sijav

[ROM][8.4/10.1/12.2 WiFi/LTE][ALL WIDGETS ANYWHERE] **ProPlus V2** [4.4.2][NG4][8/29]

Well here it is ladies & gentlemen...i would like to present to u the first rom i've ever made! Just to be clear i am NOT a dev by any means...just another enthusiastic user looking to make a few improvements to his device so i & others may enjoy it more. I guess i should start out by saying that i created this rom for personal use simply so i wouldnt have to individually reapply every mod after a fresh firmware flash...my main motivation in doing so is to add back functions that samsung saw fit to remove from our tab (quadview) or only add to specific variants (users). So, while i will be open to suggestions to make this a better rom, i'm not actually interested in making it "pretty" with cosmetic changes since my first focus will be function over form...however anyone with expertise in theming is more than welcome to create flashable packages if u would like to. The only thing that has been removed is knox but i'm sure u can find a list of apks that are safe to eliminate elsewhere on xda (u can delete the files directly from the zip or uninstall after u flash)...with this being the first version of my first rom EVER please dont expect anything too fancy so for now just consider this a "stock plus stuff" WIP & with that beiing said i will now release for the rest of my fellow tab pro owners ProPlus V2!
ROM FEATURES! (see screenshots in second post)
Rooted
Deodexed
BusyBox
Init.d
No Knox (this is the only thing that has been removed...anything else will need to be deleted from the zip or uninstalled after flash)
QuadView (4-way multiwindow found in 12.2 note pro....thx @xperiacle)
Lock Screen Cards (google now like cards on lockscreen...found in "settings-device-lockscreen")
Screen Mirrror w/ custom recovery/kernel (stock will NOT work with TWRP/CWM installed...thx @esgie for modded file)
Assistive Light Widget (adds led flashlight which can ONLY be added from widget drawer...does NOT show in launcher widget list)
Multi User (already present in wifi version but mysteriously missing from the LTE variant...found in "settings-general-users")
SDfix (apps can now write to external memory...no need for playstore fix)
Lock Screen Widgets! (FINALLY figured out how to re-enable these...thx @Goldie for the info)
MultiWindow Mods (added the ability to use MOST apps in floating mode as well as more than one copy at the same time WITHOUT needing another app...also automatically adds all apps on your device to the availability list)
Stock Widgets in ANY Launcher! (now use the stock samsung magazine widgets in your favorite launcher or on the lockscreen...see pics in post #2 below)
INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS!
Root (may be optional...listed just to be safe)
Flash custom recovery
Copy rom to device
Boot into recovery, install, & wipe both caches
Download Supersu from playstore & update "su" binay (choose "normal" method when asked...this step MAY be optional)
KNOWN ISSUES! (these are problems on the Tab S version...may not be true for the tab pro so please report)
1. lockscreen widgets can only be deleted in portrait orientation
2. music widget has no buttons & gallery widget is blank when used with other launchers
3.
ATTN: If any 10.1 & 12.2 users would like to try this rom i'm uploading dedicated versions for each variant but please test & report back...although wifi owners will still have the unnecessary telephony apps to remove as well as a possible useless data signal icon in your status bar.

if u look at the middle of the screen u will notice the "assistive light" widget...no need for other flashlight apps now
this is the "lock screen card" menu...the 5 options require certain apps be used to display the info
Weather (must be using accuweather widget on a homescreen...see next photo)
Schedule (must be using splanner app to sync events...see next photo)
News (not sure which app supplies the data to this card...any user who discovers this please post so i can update this info
Social (same as above...please post if u know)
Email (must be using stock mail app...see next photo)
u will notice the multi user icons in the top right corner of the lockscreen which allow u to change profiles similar to a windows pc where u can have separate settings for other accounts...at the bottom of the screen are the email, weather, & schedule lockscreen cards mentioned above which i assume are supposed to take the place of the locksreen widgets which as we all know samsung has removed in 4.4.2 (i'm working on adding those back as well but no promises)
This is really the ONLY thing i personally wanted that was missing from the tab...the quadview or 4-way multiwindow mode from the note pro 12.2 which, as u can see, allows us to now have 4 apps simultaneously and also to save them as a shortcut on the flashbar (multiwindow launcher)
View attachment 2916521
this is "hd widgets" being shown on the lockscreen...to add more widgets simply swipe right on your clock & u will see the "plus" icon which brings up the list
although this screenshot APPEARS to be a regular magazine home page in the touch wiz launcher if u look a lil closer then you will notice the dock with the app icons...now all of your stock samsung widgets can be used used in the your favorite launcher such nova or apex as well as om the lockscreen
ok i know what you're thinking...either "exactly how many browser windows do u need" or "how confused are u with all of that contradictory news" As u have guessed...V2 now includes the ability to have more than one copy of the same app open at the same time
Hero!!!!

first i'd like to say great point about the recoveries being available...never even thought to check :silly: well...this is one of those good news/bad news situations so here we go. Bad news is, NO, u will NOT be able to use this rom due to the fact that the the 900 (exynos) & 905 (snapdragon) use different processors...good news is that it has been reported that the SM-P900 recovery works for the SM-T900 as well (link below...attn: @KnukLHead @Rickdaddy @jgoe). With that being said...there is a custom rom for the SM-T520 that u SHOULD be able to use as long as u change the kernel (boot.img) before u flash (attn: @jir591). For anyone else reading this..the SM-T525 & SM-T905 SHOULD be compatible with the SM-T325 root & recovery methods as well if there isnt one available specifically for your device. So...theres no need to be jealous now bro We definitely need better organization of information ESPECIALLY since we dont have separate forums for each device & the first step to that is making sure we are all on the same page as far as whats possible...so with that said if u are able to get everything worked out then could u please go back over to the separate categories thread & quote the users i mentioned above to let them know what their options are

technically yes...u SHOULD be able to flash this on the 3g variant (after u change the kernel of course) since all of the 8.4 models share the same chipset but i cant say for sure if everything will work...just report back here if u have problems. Also...yeah u can just pull the boot.img from the odin tar & replace it in the zip before u flash (might want to grab a copy of your build.prop & swap it too) although u will probably need to re-root manually. When u get time can u upload both the kernel & build.prop here for me so i can add the root & init.d code...thx in advance
@THEDEVIOUS1 thanx for the info. I have been thinking about trying the P900 recovery because we do have the same chipset but didn't have time yet to unbrick if it went bad so never went for it.

Hey T.D 1
I must Say, you are doing your thing in this forum, MUCH Respect, you are definitely holding it down for these Devices, I could only HOPE to see a few others with your same spirt jump in this kitchen you have Chiefing up with there own separate cooking skillzzzz, if my hopes do come to a sizzle our T325 would be a 5 course cuisine... Its Great to dream, however who knows, dreams do come true, keep up the great work TD 1, and just so you know Im still waiting for my source to get back to me about the lcd & Digitizer. if she confirms she can get it I will plug you into with her Directly. Bless Buddy....

first i'd like to say great point about the recoveries being available...never even thought to check :silly: well...this is one of those good news/bad news situations so here we go.

Nice, glad to see some source built ROM's for the 10.1.
Might want to make it clear in the thread title what device the ROM as for, as DevDB makes it confusing.
Keep up the good work!

Issues:
1. After setup. it says com.android.phone has stopped. Basically CM boots and all but as soon it you get to the setup it will throw that error. You're going to have to use fast reflexes lol to click ok and then click next on setup. Currently, the error won't go away at all. Working on fixing that somehow.
2. No Wi-Fi Yet.
How to Install:
1. Boot to TWRP
2. Advance Wipe everything except Internal & External SD
3. Flash and wipe cache/dalvik
Download Link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5kaDFDMK0TYay15U3JjTHYzQVk/edit?usp=sharing
**Pretty much unusable right now because of the error. I'm trying to learn how to fix it as i'm not a cyanognemod dev.

1. remove com.android.phone error easy: in UnofficialportCM11T520.zip need remove TeleService.apk (\system\priv-app\TeleService.apk)
2. for work wifi - need replace \system\etc\wifi from original firmware
Now I'm able run cm, connect to internet, play with settings and some apps, but got the problems:
- sdcard not available
- camera not available
- I got problem with connect to my PC
- google play crashed
Big thanks for your work, I'm really happy see first cm, hope very soon we will have it fully work.
WOOHOO!!! Thanks so much, cant wait to try this and be rid of touchwiz!
reading through the original thread it looks like the dev has abandoned the CM development and is focusing primarily on the AOSP. I flashed it and its working well except I cant get the SD to mount. In the original thread people are able to manually mount but i havnt the foggiest on how to do that. Is this something I do in TWRP or do I have to do it with ADB?
If I can get the SD mounted (even manually each time I boot) this is good enough for me for a daily driver. I really dont care about Bluetooth or the camera.

Fwiw I have been doing my best to keep my github repo in sync with my work tree if someone wanted to base a fresh build for this device.
Finaly I have time to play with CM and make small update for it.
What done:
1. Internal sdcard and microSD - available
2. Google play - working
Need to do:
1. Connect to PC
2. Root is absent
3. Camera and bluethooth DNW
How to fix original UnofficialportCM11T520.zip:
1. Download UnofficialportCM11T520.zip
2. Download file in attach (Update_for_UnofficialportCM11T520.zip)
3. Just replace files in UnofficialportCM11T520.zip from Update_for_UnofficialportCM11T520.zip
4. Wipe and install updated UnofficialportCM11T520.zip and gapps
P.s. During CM wizard you will get error message about miss SIM-card - it will be once, just press OK.

Should just need to identify the right gpio number and update the keylayout. The stock ROM can help with that.

@Valera1978, @Shaheer; is that something you know how to do? Its foreign to me Im happy to be a guinea pig though!
Just tried both of them, this feels very promising.
Really fast/smooth.
No problems with supersu and play store.
Needed foldermount to fix a ext sd problem in casevof writing rights.
But thegame Battlefront Heroes ends up in 5010 and some other errors. And am a bit to addicted to it to wait on cm or the aosp build to be able to play it, so turned back to my backup.
But i am convinced that al will be working in the near future

Just update boot.img.
Please replace boot.img from attached update_boot.zip
It should fix problem with chrome (and may be in another apps). And also it will fix root - now it working correct (root checker, titanium backup, adb shell with su working correct).
RagingHarry please check it. Hope it will fix Battlefront Heroes.
It' need replace original boot.img in: blckasop_SMT520Port.zip or CM11_SMT520Port.zip
