Is there a way to use swype beta on a rooted 8gb nook tablet? I did a search but did not come up with much. I got it to install but I can not enable it for use.

Assuming 1.4.0:
Download the keyboard apk and Anycut apk file, and copy them to the root of your SD card.
1)Install Anycut and run the app to Create a New Shortcut.
2)Tap Activity > Android Keyboard Debug.
3)Create another shortcut for Accessibility and Debug settings.
4)Return to your Home screen and open Android Keyboard Debug.
5)Enable Debug mode and click Back.
6)Using Root Explorer or ES File Explorer navigate to root of your SD card and copy the keyboard apk.
7)Now navigate to /system/app and mount the directory as R/W.
8)Paste the apk file here and change the permissions to 777. (Check all the boxes.)
(These permissons work incase of the Swype Keyboard).
9)Once copied, revert access to R/O and exit the explorer, proceeding to reboot the device.
10)Run the Accessibility shortcut you created earlier.
11)Tap Input Method to select your new keyboard.
I wasnt aware there were any other options at this time other then stock for the 8gb version I think it is 1.4.2
so use the steps i gave you since it is the
stock series

Bad assumption. The NT8 does not run any software prior to 1.4.2.
Everytime I have tried to install Swype I get a message saying failed, Swype does not support this form factor.
Have they released an update that supports Nook Tablet, or 7" tablets in general?

I've been running it under Team-B's CM7 alpha with no problems (and BTW, it is excellent -- much improved over the version that came build in on my Droid X). Have you considered switching to a different ROM to get swype to run?
Although I can't find the thread right now, I used the alternative keyboard directions to get Swype Beta working in my rooted nook tablet. The instructions are on that thread. I've been using Swype for months now (Swyping this post).
However, I just have root and am not using any cm7/9 on it (no reason for me until bt or USB host mode is figured out). Additionally, I registered through Swype for their beta so I had the file).
Although I like Swype for portrait, it is a little laggy for landscape if you are trying to type with all of you're fingers. I think it has to do with differentiating between a swipe and fast key pushes. Others might not notice this. Additionally, there are a few bugs, such as trying to edit a word vs change cursor position... long story I won't get into, but it affects long posts or e-mails for me.

Just fyi, the nook tablet does not support Bluetooth and thus the development will not be pursuing getting it to work in custom roms.

I use an app called KM Keyboard Manager to automatically change from Swype in portrait mode and the default (CM9) keyboard in landscape.

It's confusing with all of the old threads where people say to wait but no one updates... With the quick innovation on consumer tablets recently, prices for better tablets have been dropping considerably, and I will probably replace the NT after summer.
Currently, without being able to use a keyboard (I write multiple papers per week, totaling approximately 3000 words) I don't really have any need for switching to CM7/9.
I purchased the NT as a transitional tablet and have been very happy adding it to my devices. Although there are still limitations to Android for many of my requirements, if I could use VoIP, keyboard and mouse (when needed), and output 1080p video, and maybe GPS (not really needed but would be nice), most of the negatives would be overshadowed... These extras would assume the same positives the NT has going for it or better.
Ideally, I will be looking at the Samsung galaxy 7.7 if it's price drops or the Toshiba Thrive 7.7 if the pricing is reasonable. Unfortunately, I will still need a laptop/desktop running windows or OSX otherwise I would just get the Asus transformer infinity when it comes out.

there was a very recent post ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26854804&postcount=6 ) where the member chose a nook over a ( $250 ) samsumg. i got a chuckle out of that, for sure !
i own the old toshiba thrive. it has a great ( independent ) forum with "lots" of friendly - helpful people ( http://www.thriveforums.org/forum/forum.php ).

If I had had the Nook in hand before buying the GT2-7.0, it would've been a no-brainer for me. I was spoiled by my Droid X, and wanted something with similar quality and a larger display. Found it in the 16GB Nook Tablet ($200 Certified Pre-Owned).
Happy as can be, and the community support here is outstanding!

In the end, it really comes down to value: user expectation/performance vs price. In all honesty, I have even considered purchasing the NC for it's current price of $169 recently. However, since it still doesn't have video out, I will wait and be happy with what I have.
As is, the NT (with the help of XDA developers) has turned out to be my best device for info coming to me (although I can't access certain readings for my MBA)...unfortunately, not the best device for information coming from me going out. Plus I am happy with the portability of the 7" tablets compared to the 10".
I'm hoping that the 7.7" tablets coming out will satisfy all of my tablet requirements... which include price constraints.
While I don't plan on replacing my nook as I have a Xoom for more intensive stuff, I'm excited to see the upcoming tablets that will compete with the 7" market that the kindle fire blew out of the water. The Google nexus tablet will have great development potential but I have a feeling they will go the no expanded storage route, as they have with the galaxy nexus.

The Swype installer is broken - again. A couple of people have posted links to a couple of different older versions in one of the support threads. But you'd better act fast!
I downloaded the Swype beta on my NT no problem (16 Gb, 1.4.2, rooted and now running ADW Launcher). I looked around this forum for instructions on how to download an alternate keyboard and actually got it working for swiftkey and flex T9... didn't much like those though. I use swype on my phone and I really like that, but just the stock swype apk won't work - you have to go with the tablet beta. A pleasant surprise was that I didn't have to mess around with the typical alternate keyboard installation procedures (.apk installed in the /data/app + /system/app method found elsewhere on this site - use the search box if you don't know what I'm talking about).
All I had to do was download/install the swype beta from their site - after install it brings up a prompt allowing you to select swype from all the other installed keyboards, and then it just works! Also, I finally have [nearly] full copy/paste functionality: swype-a (select all) doesn't work (Force closes whatever program you're currently working with), but swype-c (copy), swype v (paste), and swype x (cut) work just fine now.
Edit: clarified the info about 'select all' - not only does it not work, but it actually crashes whatever program you're trying to select text in - very important detail!

I just purchased one of these units as a color eReader with WiFi, 800 x 600, touch screen.
Turning it on I was expecting typical eReader app., but instead there was a full blown Android (missing market though). The eReader is just a Kodo App.
Android 1.5 Cupcake, 500mhz, 2 gig flash, SD
This is the Canadian version, the US version indeed presents you with a eReader App as the Home screen, but does have the Android menu.
Flashes are available for both Canada and US.
The Canadian version has ES File Explorer so adding apps. isn't hard, but the US version Needs Android SDK to get an App installed. It appears I can switch to root in a terminal.
I'm having some issuse with networking though. It surfs no problem and can download. But an RDP client connects through a local network, but can't connect through the Internet, just resets the connection. Also it can't even download an ebook from Kobo,, just does a 1.8k download, reset, 1.8 download, reset and so on. Pretty bad you can't even use it for what it was meant. The US version appears to download books from Barnes & Noble, but it's to difficult to try it with RDP.
I'm looking at trying to update to a newer Android for it and could use some pointers.
Go to the Pandigital site, go to download and scroll to the bottom, you will see where you can get the update to a tablet rather than a reader.
Couple of cautions though...it voids your warranty, you will lose the PDN's original launcher screen, and mine anyway updated to Eclair.
But I did it any way and have been able to load pretty much anything, however I can't get angry birds to work.
You must have the white Pandigital Novel. I believe it has Eclair builtin, and just butcher it with a Barnes & Nobel home/launcher. Upgrading to the OP flash gives you a normal home/launcher and the ability to add apps. Have you got Market running on it?
The black novel has similar hardware but less ram. It has Cupcake builtin and a butcher home/launcher. Upgrading to OP, still just gives you Cupcake. I have Market running on it, but need the ugly hack to get it registered.
heard anything about the 9" one from QVC?
From the picture it looks like its running the OP Platforum, with a B&N app as the Ereader. Specs. would say it needs at least Donut, but my Kobo app. on the Canadian version requires donut too, but they managed the run it on cupcake.
I like the 6" screen for reading, but a 9" tablet with the right aspect 4:3 would be awesome. I have a 10" zt180, but its a 16:9 or worse and looks long and skinny. Really messes up icon spacing when you swith portrait to landscape.
I think 16/9 is a great size for the multimedia aspect in landscape and the reader will be great in portrait. Just my opinion though. To each his own.

Avoid bricking by first downgrading to s10, then flash froyo. Or stick with s20 kewlguys. Randomblame has some roms but theyre still alpha

Hi, I just got the hp touchpad and I am trying to find a good ebook reader. I have calibre on my PC so I can convert to most formats. I tried out preader but it doesn't render the text very well and very laggy.

Did you try preader Native? I tried another preader version and wasn't happy. Then I found com.mhwsoft.preader-native_0.9.9_all.ipk at
precentral.net/preader-native-alpha (new user so I can't post links)
and think it will serve me fine until Android is ported.

yep, that beta/alpha version of preader is best. Its still total junk but at least its free....really though, at the point that its that awfully inefficient the guy is probably better off trying to generate html and just toss it to WebKit. I mean come on, so slow and buggy with the progress.

I ended up buying the Touchpad Demo version from RadioShack, not realizing that it would not allow me to access the HP Market. As such, I can't download the Kindle app from there. Anyone know how I can get it to my Touchpad? I think the apps for Wed OS are .ipk, as opposed to android's .apk's. Does anyone have the Kindle.ipk?
P.S. I don't think this qualifies as asking for freeware in violation of the rules as the Kindle App is free on the market, and I just need the installation file to be able to use it. If that is incorrect, mods please remove this request. Thanks.
UPDATE:
Never mind, thanks to some of the guys here at XDA I was able to install a clean copy of the latest Web OS on my "Demo" Tablet, and register for a new Web OS account. A Demo no more, but a full fledged Web OS Tablet. I downloaded the Kindle app from the market, but now trying to figure out how to get .mobi books to show up on the Kindle App.

There is some info on this at precentral.net in the TouchPad subforum. You might take a gander as it sounds like the demo units were not supposed to be sold and may be permanently locked out of accessing the app store.

Well you can just download a free amazon book, and rename your mobi books to the /.palmkindle directory, but they show up as the name of the amazon book, and I'm pretty sure its impossible to change that because the name of the book is in the main database file for webos. This isn't a real satisfactory solution. I whonder how HP could sell the Touchbook without a working ebook reader preinstalled. I guess its things like these, that made people refrain from WebOS.

I use my touchpad for viewing my digital textbooks (.PDF) in class. I'm currently using adobe reader but it lags considerably. I've tried using calibre to convert them to .mobi but it didn't work.

Managed to pick up a cheap 32GB... So disappointed about the lack of a half-decent book reader, and the Kindle app doesn't seem to be available to people in the UK
I had this same problem. I tried pReader, but the version in the market took forever to load even one .mobi ebook, and froze when I tried to load a second.
The Alpha version from the preware store refused to load .mobi files at all for me - it let me select them, and said it was loading, but they never appeared in the list.
I ended up using Calibre to convert all of my ebooks to .epub, and loading these into the Alpha version of pReader - it loaded all of them (about 200) quickly, and they look OK. It is still a bit laggy and rough around the edges, but its good enough for me until someone comes up with something better (or the pReader devs release an update).
How do you get back to the main menu in the preader native version? Im stuck inside one of the books and cant get out.
edit: Nevermind I just uninstalled it and reinstalled it. I think by putting it into fulllscreen I couldnt get into the drop-down to go back. So... DO NOT PUT INTO FULLSCREEN IN DISPLAY PREFERENCES!!!
Also, if you are using pReader and haven't done this already, try setting the encoding to UTF-8.
I had all of the special characters showing up as junk before this.

This took me a bit to figure out, but I did. I double-tapped toward the top half of the screen and it pulled the top menu bar back up. Similar to the bottom, where if you tap, it activates or deactivates the progress bar. What a pain in the ass and rather unintuitive if you don't know what you're doing.

The rep didn't offer any specifics, but reaffirmed that HP remains "fully committed to the ongoing support and service of customers who purchased webOS devices." The news comes on the heels of a Quickoffice HD update that dropped yesterday, and at a time when TouchPads are selling like hotcakes -- which probably explains HP's decision to issue a tweak. Indeed, the company went on to say that it's seen "huge spikes in activations and between 3-5X downloads of apps," since the TouchPad fire sale first launched.

it depends how drastic the changes are.. i have a feeling the update won't be anything major...
This isn't iOS. The updates don't ever do anything in theory to close down the OS, other than required security hole fixes. Anything you could do prior to the update, you can do after. The webOS doctor is what is probably going to become hijacked for allowing Android installations, and this in theory, will never stop working. Remember, we have always been able to recover a "bricked" device through the webOS Doctor; unlike the many other platforms available. Also, it has been close to 2 years since we had to remove all patches prior to updating. I'd suggest waiting 24 hours, if you can, to verify. Patches and homebrew should not be broken in the update.
One thing they should fix is the browser. Upgrade their libraries up to the level Honeycomb 3.2 or iOS 5 (all of which is open source) to improve the performance (especially JavaScript) and support more HTML5 standards (like SVG). They should also allow users to modify their user agent string to the iPad UA via a hack, so all tablet-oriented websites display as they are meant to.
Although the Touchpad browser is not horrible, it could do a lot better compared to the Android and iOS browsers which are based on WebKit as well. Having an awesome browser could give this tablet much more life while just running webOS with web apps!

I feel this brower is just as good if not better than the android browser. I had issues with some links and pages on my android tablet but they work perfect on my touchpad

Don't Know why people knock the browser. I feel that the WebOS browser is honestly the best mobile browser I have EVER used functionality wise... Never before on a tablet or tablet-like device have I not had to fiddle with user-agent settings and such to get where I need to go... So far only one site has failed on the Touchpad... Hulu, And we all know why that doesn't work...

The caching issues make browsing forums a nightmare.
Also, Gmail doesn't work in the browser.

I have to agree that functionally, it's an excellent browser. It's just that internally (performance en compatibility with technologies) it's not quite as great as Safari in iOS 4 or the Honeycomb browser. Check this link to see what I mean.
The reason why it's important is that by the end of the year all webOS support for native apps will have definitely dried up, which means that webOS users will have to rely on web apps. Web apps can be freaking amazing if the browser supports the latest technology and has good JavaScript performance. Although the Touchpad is not bad there, it should be doable for HP to update its performance and compatibility to the level of iOS 5.

So I've watched the ICS Motorola Webtop Beta 3.0 video and it may be me but it looks very similar to the Evo Desktop PC in concept and function. Considering that ICS wasn't even available this time last year this would have been the logical progression of the project. I'm not asking for Moto to send me a check but I'm waiting to see how the credits roll out. If the Sun here on Mars has baked my brain then feel free to say so.

Actually I've been in contact with Moto since the videos surfaced and am getting the "hot potato" treatment. All I'm looking for is to have a civil dialog with them about it. All I'm getting is being told I need to contact Department A by Department B after just being directly referred to Department B by Department A. I have even gone so far as to include the direct referral and names in my communications. You probably have a good idea as to how well that's working.
The odd thing is that with 200+ views nobody has said I should have my head checked. Is everybody on XDA being nice?
Interesting question, locki. Definitely a fair one. If I understand correctly, from watching the video (I had the volume down - A cold and a headache coming down so I'm trying to minimize the noises). In any case, your version looks to me like phone mirroring with a keyboard and a mouse. Not sure how it's set up (you probably said it in the video). But I don't think the ICS demo is a complete demo. This looks like he just reviewed the phone mirroring version, but didn't do a complete webtop review. Also, webtop on the current system is also pretty limited. From that video, I don't see much difference between the ICS and what we have on our phone, except that this is a proof of concept. In any case, you could say the same thing about a comparable presentation from the webtop experience on the mopho if you only show the the phone window usage. could also say the same thing about your ubuntop if you only show a limited version of the capabilities. I guess my point is I don't think you have a fair comparison at this point. But my head is stuffy and I am on my way to an early bedtime, so maybe I'm missing something...
I replaced the video of webtop 3.0 with one that shows webtop3.0 in use. I also have a copy of the ICS RAZR leak and osh (or anything related to that partition) is nowhere to be found. Neflix is obviously Netflix for tablets. The desktop look of Chrome appears to be a ui switch for the mobile chrome browser. If the ICS leak is anywhere near what the official release is, then the tech/android reports are correct that the new webtop is nothing more than modified tablet mode mirroring.
I'm not saying it's not good work. Had HCL Launcher, Chrome mobile browser and Netflix for tablets been out when I released Evo Desktop you would be hard pressed to tell the difference.
My other concern is if the leak I have and the videos are correct this does not bode well for Webtop becoming a true desktop with ICS like many had hoped.
So If I am understanding things correctly, the new webtop is just tweaked phone mirroring, as opposed to now where there are 2 operating systems running side by side. I guess ubuntop won't work on that system then. very disappointing.
As nice as Evo Desktop was there were tons of drawbacks. So I can tell you from experience that this is going to be a serious step backwards for "Webtop". Open up a mobile browser and visit a page that has flash based chat embedded. You cannot leave that page (view another page in another tab) because as soon as you leave the chat page tab everything gets suspended. When you go back to the chat page tab you have to log back in and start over.
Document editing will also be an issue as you have to use cloud based editors like Google Docs because to my knowledge none of the current office apps have that tablet switch needed change how the ui is rendered. When you combine this with the browser tabs issue and that Google Docs puts a fairly heavy load on the browser, you can say goodbye to any real doc editing.
What it comes down to is that many app devs are going to have to add the needed ui switch and changes to keep the new webtop from being trash. This will not be easy. I fought for months to just get a browser with a "desktop ui" look with no success. Even with thousands of users on the Evo project nobody would touch it. I ended up having to modify an existing browser to give my users a desktop look. Multiply that by how many commonly used apps that would need a ui switch and Moto is just asking for failure.
My other concern is what happens to the, now wasted, 1.3GB osh partition? The leak has no mention of it in the install script. It looks like it will still present but only accessible via vnc which has it's own issues and drawbacks.
Recently inherited a Nook Tablet 16GB with OS 1.4.3.
Did some searching and Phone Arena http://www.phonearena.com/phones/Barnes---Noble-NOOK-Tablet_id6548 lists it as Android (2.3).
Am not familiar with TI OMAP4 SoC.
Since Android is now at 6, I wonder what the latest OS can be used with it?

Slow compared to what? The original 2.3? That I can't speak to since I never did much with my original (ebay) tablet but turn it on and flash CM 10.2.1 (after having it repartitioned at my local B&N store). I ran CM 10.2.1 for a little over a year and was fairly happy with its performance but I have to add that it has been my only tablet experience (if you don't count my much-modified Nook Simple Touch!) and the rest of my experience is with desktop and laptop Windows machines.
I think if you intend to use the tablet for memory and graphics intensive gaming, you may be disappointed. Not sure since I'm not a gamer. I use mine for reading news, watching movies and/or streams, listening to audiobooks, doing crossword puzzles, email, some limited internet browsing, running Kodi, etc. I'm not sure I'd call the tablet response "sprightly", but I'm comfortable with the performance. I don't need to grab a cup of tea while something starts up
I'm not sure about CM 11 (that's roughly KitKat). I skipped over that one to investigate CM 12.1 (Lollipop) for just about a week now and have noticed some strain on the hardware resources and a change in response. But it's still settling in and things change a little from day to day so I'll give it a few more weeks before I decide whether to return to 10.2.1 or try 11.
So....it's largely what you'd expect. This is a piece of hardware that was designed as mainly a reader with a few bones thrown in to tantalize people into thinking they were getting a little something extra--which they were. But that was in the days of Android 2.3 and it really wasn't designed to be a super-duper multimedia tablet. That said, there are a lot of people who still use them and spend a lot of time developing CM for them.
As a 2.3 device it's pretty limited (except as a reader, if you like the backlight) so I'd say give at least CM 10 a try and see what you think. Just keep in mind its hardware origins.

If you're interested in mainly audio/video then the NT should serve you well. I hear you about trying to put newer (read: hungrier) operating systems on older machines. The CM people have done a great job but every piece of hardware has its limits. For your purposes I would think that CM 10 would be fine, but you could certainly try 11 or (maybe) 12. The advantage to choosing a more up-to-date operating system is that more apps are available to you. The catch is that the PlayStore will often say an app is not compatible since it sees the device as a Nook Tablet and has no idea that you have upgraded the OS. So you sometimes have to be creative in obtaining apps and sideloading them. As for bloatware, the principal source is the GoogleApps! When I did my CM 10 flashing there was just the typical package but there are now mini, micro, nano, etc., versions which narrow down the list of GApps to bare essentials. I used the nano set on my CM 12.1 and don't miss anything.
I've attached a screenshot of my current Home running CM 12.1. I have a second screen which is just a few utilities (file manager, print, wi-fi transfer, etc.) but you can get an idea of what kind of stuff runs well on the tablet with a newer OS. I've not used VLC player on the NT but I imagine it would be fine. MX Player works well for me and it also serves as my music player. Since I grew up in an era when the album was king, I don't keep separate songs and use minimal tags. If you're a more tag-driven music listener then you'd want something else. CM 10 comes with a tag-friendly music player but if that didn't suit your needs, there are plenty of apps to try in the PlayStore.
Anything that MX Player can't handle (haven't found it yet) Kodi would be able to deal with. I guess you could use Kodi exclusively as a media player but the screen interface is a little trying for a small screen.
I'm "experienced" only to the extent that I've had a lot of help with problems In my view you can't do better than the instructions given by user digixmax. His installation instructions for CM 10 are here. For CM 11 or 12 they are here. If you read through both threads you'll find plenty of panic-stricken posts by yours truly

Yes, it's best to do some homework on a device before purchase if you plan to root it or install alternate ROMS.
Sources for the various GApps packages can be found in the instruction thread I referred you to earlier.
Even CM 10 includes camera and Bluetooth fluff on the NT-- not functional, of course. Theoretically running a more up-to-date OS extends the useful life of the device. App development eventually leaves older devices in the dust, although not completely. I still have a generous complement of apps on my NST and that runs Eclair!
Anyway, the chief advantage of an OS like CM is that it is fluid, with people working to improve and enhance. Also, it overcomes some of the limitations imposed by B&N when they designed their "front end".

From what I've pieced together, I need to create a bootable TWRP sdcard and flash the root file then flash the TWRP 3.0.0-0(the acclaim works for the old Nook?) Then flash CM12 or CM13?
I'm starting from scratch and these guides are rather old so I'm trying to make sure I use the most up to date recovery and ROM available but with everything spread through different guides its a little confusing to decide which steps and files I need and which ones I don't considering I'm trying to go from stock to TWRP and CM12/CM13 in as few steps as possible.

You can look at this thread for combinations of files that worked. I'm in there later in the mix and that's how I ended up with CM 12.1.
Looking at the SD card I prepared I can see everything I used except for the TWRP version because it was renamed. At this point I would just use one of the versions mentioned in the thread I just referenced for someone who succeeded at 12.1 (or if you want 13.0, there is a separate thread for that). Just know that TWRP gives error messages during the preparation process (at least my version did--mentioned in the thread) and these can be ignored.
The rest of the files I used with success:
cm-12.1-20151117-SNAPSHOT-YOG7DAO1K6-acclaim.zip
flashable_CWM_6.0.4.8_chrmhoffmann.zip
open_gapps-arm-5.1-nano-20160109.zip
FWIW, the file size on the TWRP version I used shows as 7516 KB.

You will also loose the proper behavior of tablet when you connect cable to charger - stock OS wakes tablet from sleep when tablet gets connected to charger, CM does not, so you will have to wake it up first, otherwise tablet will not charge. Then, under every CM build RAM (under 'About Tablet') is stated 672 Mb, but under stock OS RAM is 1024Mb. Don't know is B&N trick us or not.
Next, if tablet left asleep for some prolonged period its time/date gets frozen, so when you wake it up it will show some wrong time/date and it does not auto-update on wake up, so you will have to manually update it by going to proper menu in Settings.
Tablet definitely lags compared to stock (in my opinion), especially when apps upgrade themselves and/or you turn on the WiFi - it's total hell. Also, apps like FB can take forever to install.

This further reinforces my feeling that the CM flashings are somewhat idiosyncratic (at least on the Nook Tablet). I've run both 10.2.1 and 12.1 (current) on my tablet and never saw the clock update issue described. In 12.1 the AM/PM indicator had update issues, but I solved that by disabling the cLock widget and installing Chronus from the PlayStore.
Sluggish is as sluggish does, I guess. Running CM 12.1 is no more sluggish than my cheap KitKat LG smartphone I use as an mp3 player. I have to agree that sometimes the tablet just has a bad time of things. This happened a lot after my initial 12.1 installation and there were many odd things that needed fixing. I just kept at it until it is finally running as well as 10.2.1---even better since it now boots reliably every time, whereas with 10.2.1 there were many times when I would boot to a black (backlit) screen. So now I shut it down every night and boot up the next morning without any problem.
The moral seems to be that you just need to try. Keep a backup of the stock system in case you have "buyer's remorse". Don't give up right away. Reflash if things are just a mess, but if only a few things are wonky, work with the tablet for a week or so. It seems to get better after each reboot. Decide for yourself whether the reported sluggishness of the tablet is something that you notice for the apps you are using. A lot of it is about expectations.

The thing is that I tried one of the latest 12.1 with the same results. I don't think the clock problem comes from cLock widget but is related to deep sleep mode or something like that.

Well, I switched to CM since 10.x and followed along till 13.x came out. So I was on 12.1 for quite some time and tried fresh builds quite frequently, doing 'full reset' install. Btw, I've never had unreliable boots.
