I updated to the latest PRL and I have been having trouble acquiring 3g connection at work in Houston. It goes in and out and the data speeds are abysmal. It is very fustrating. My OG Evo was slow but not this slow here at my office. Im not a happy camper....

Have you rebooted?

at least you get some what of 3g. every time i turn 3g on i get "sprint error code 97"
i cant send texts or make calls.
i think my PRL update failed mid download and now i cant update it at all. ugh this is so annoyinggg

iv rebooted so many times. every time i go to *2 it says i have an PRL update. when i go to click it i get this..

Try turning on wifi, then turning mobile off. Then wifi off, and the mobile back on.
Mine had to try turning on a few times, but eventaully came back. Thing is, my prl didn't even update.
Still on the same one, which apparently can vary by location.
Doing the *2 will probably always tell you there is an update.

Mine came with that prl. I haven't had a issues other then Wednesday it wouldn't connect for about a half hour. I did about the reboots and it finally worked again

If you are having issues make sure you also update your profile. The option is right above "update prl"
Settings>System Updates>Update Profile
Also, try updating your PRL through the phone and not through *2 first and see if that works, then update your profile.

I live in Houston (Sugar Land) as well and yesterday I had a chance to play with this. WOW, just leaving my house and not turning WiFi off it wouldn't connect to 3G, I would get the icon everyonce in a while, but trying to get a speed test i would get connection failure every time...
So I turned off data, wifi then turned back on and it worked. I hope I don't have to do this every time... but I can tell you before this I didn't do this and noticed when I would turn my phone on after i left my house (WiFi) for the first 5 seconds or so after the screen lit up there would be no 3G icon, then it would appear and get up/down arrow traffic...
Seems something is wonky? Not sure if this update fixed or made it worse, once I was able to connect I got really good (for 3G on sprint) speeds 1.4 down and .7 up... I would do a screen shot, but forgot how? thought it was power home but that isn't working..
still love the phone though...

I got into settings but there is no "system updates" or "update profile". There was on my who 3d. Is it hidden somewhere?

I tried to update, prl stayed the same. 3g went out, until turning mobile data off, and back on.
Sure wish they'd flip the LTE switches here in their hometown. I'm roughly 2 miles from sprint headquarters..
Glad I don't see the bill, because if I did I'd stop paying it.

This seems to be a common thing this morning. I spent an hour on the phone with tech support. She told me to take the phone back, however it seems that a lot of people had this problem. Mine is back up and running with 3g.

What to
Are u running.g?

Speeds have been abysmal since about early afternoon here in VA. Speedtested and got anywhere between 90-220ish kbs, can barely stream Pandora on low quality (which means it's TERRIBLE).
Updated PRL and didn't really see any differences.

What is the new number of the prl..still 25004 here.

I had the same issue on my phone. I called Sprint and had to do a factory reset before I could re-establish a data connection. Make sure your contacts and any files you want to keep are backed up and clear out Google Wallet if you haven't already and factory reset the phone. Go through the normal activation process and you should be back up. I won't touch my PRL update again unless I absolutely have to.
The Dark One

Anybody still having this issue? I tried "all of the above" minus a factory reset withno results until I turned LTE off... so far, all is fine.
Nashville, TN btw...

I'm on Mean Rom, currently. I'm certain the setting was there on flex360s, and Fresh Rom, too. Not 100% sure about Fresh Rom, though.
I always appreciated your work on previous devices. Are you considering making a rom for the LTE?

[Q] Error Code 128?

I've been intermittently getting this error. Something about data not being able to connect.
Has anybody else gotten this error and does anyone know how to fix it? I'm completely stock, no root.
Same here! I can't figure out why it's doing this as well.
Yeah I've gotten it too. Flashing different radios didn't seem to help- mine is S-off and rooted. My sister works for Sprint she isn't the phone nerd like me but lol nothing I seem to do can fix it. Will update on how she fixes it if she does lol.
You can still make phone calls and everything else, just no data.
Try making a call, if it doesn't go through you will be connected to someone in tech support who will refresh you connection to the network. They implemented a security feature that will give ya that when you aren't being allowed onto the network.

Yep. Exactly what this guy said. Tell the guy the error you got and he'll fix it up right away.
I started getting this same error this morning, right after I flashed Synergy nightly 330. Not sure if it's a coincidence or not, but that's when it started. It's now doing it on every rom. I can connect to 4g just fine. It's only 3g that gives me that error. I've updated PRL and Profile but that didn't fix it. Not sure what I'll try next.
EDIT: Well, right after I submitted this message a second ago, I looked at my phone and 3G was connected and the error stopped. It lasted for a few hours then resolved itself. Strange.
Are you able to post the steps?
I am getting the same error and can't even call *2
Thanks
Apparently there is a national outage, that's why we are getting the 128 code.
I've been getting it all day too. I can make calls though, so I'm not sure what the problem is. I just keep getting the error message pop up.
I was getting it, too. I went on chat with Sprint and they reset me again. Had to take my battery out for 2 minutes and then reboot my phone twice. It's all fixed now.
I think there were network issues on the 20th as it happened to me as well. However, I just left it alone suspecting the network, and about 20 min later, it fixed itself.
This isn't 3d related guys, my evo 4G is doing it as well. It started after that small earthquake over here. Not sure if that's why but I was fine before 2pm today.

That was because too many people were trying to call, but I don't see how calling people could affect the data.
my phone just started doing this recently while on 4G. i can make calls, send texts, browse internet, etc. only thing i can't do on 4G is play Scrabble. it tells me no network detected. today i was using Google Nav in Orange County by Anaheim, CA on the 5fwy and i saw the error pop up a few times. i just tapped on the dismiss button and continued on my way. just curious on the error as its starting to annoy me. i called sprint a couple days ago and they were clueless as to why it popped up. they checked the towers by my house and said they were fine and operational. but yet i know there is something wrong here. especially when i can't play Scrabble on 4G...LOL . i've also reset my data profile using my MSL# and updated data profile and PRL... anywho has anyone had this issue recently and has had this corrected??? BTW: I'm rooted running stock RUU 2.3.4 on latest radio and prl...

Not being able to play Scrabble while on 4G has been an issue with the Scrabble app for sometime. I reported it twice to the company but never got a response. This is totally unrealted to the errors others are reporting in this thread. Scrabble just needs to fix their app.
Did anyone get Sprint to fix their phone. I called them but they were not able to fix it over the phone.

Evo stuck on 1X even after changing PRL

Hi, I'm on sprint with my evo 3d and I'm stuck with only 1X. I have read the posts about the bad PRLs and I have set mine back to 21081 with no luck. I read here cricketusers.com/sprint-htc-evo-4g/9588-evo-only-doing-1xrtt-no-3g-evdo-any-ideas.html that " I took a backup using QPST of my old EVO, and loaded that on to the new one, and I'm getting pings under 100, downs around 1000 kbps, ups around 500 kbps."
Anyone have any suggestions? Thank you.
get msl# type ##3282# type in your msl as your password click on edit mode click data profile hit menu and restore. then reboot. when it reboots let it do the hands free set up but cancel the prl update and firmware update. hit thanks it helps. that is what I did and it worked
hey shawnten, thanks for the reply. I have already tried that many times, but I will do it again right now and hope it helps. I actually haven't done that since I changed the prl, so I'll hope for the best. any further advice would be appreciated.
I would also like to mention that I keep getting error 67, unable to establish wireless data connection. doing hands free activation now taking forever
Still on 1x. Could someone share a qpst backup of their phone to me? Perhaps that will fix the problem like in the original post
i have the same problem any help is appreciated
This worked for me. Thanks
Seems like the 21081 prl is screwing up no, because I had the same problem earlier today. I switched to the 11115 prl and I have my 3g back but now its stuck on roaming
Turning GPS off is important!!
"FIRST, make sure you are using the stock dialer and not a third-party one as the menus will not work (as I discovered the hard way... ) Then...
Turn off your GPS. Dial ##3282#, and select Edit. Enter your MSL, then go to Data Profile. Push the menu button, then tap on Restore. Push OK to reboot. Allow the phone to go through hands-free activation, but WATCH YOUR PHONE CAREFULLY AND PRESS CANCEL WHEN IT BEGINS TO UPDATE PRL."
Compliments of CarrieK.
Tried 3 or 4 prls, followed all the steps and still 1X I believe the 4g works but I'm not in a 4g area anymore so I can't check. Anyone else...?
Try ##3282#,edit,enter msl,EVDO,preferred mode- Automatic, menu, commit modifications,ok. See if that helps.

I have factory reset my phone like 7 times and done all of this and still on 1x.. I know 3g works fine on my evo 4g cause I'm using it now. Dunno what the problem is... the settings on my phone are fine.. can someone post a QPST backup of theirs?
This happened to me before too. What I did was turn off the gps. Update the profile. Update the prl. Then goto the dialer and do the ##DATA#. EDIT. Enter MSL. DATA PROFILE. then MENU key RESTORE. It will confirm then restart if it doesn't restart then POWER MENU. RESTART. Wait for the Hands Free Activation to come up after the restart. Let it activate then CANCEL THE PRL UPDATE AND THE FIRMWARE UPDATE...
Hope this works for you. I've gotten stuck at 1x about 3+ times and this always worked for me.

EDIT: Seeing your previous post about those download speeds makes me think your 3g is working fine. Get the app Network Signal Info and see if that tells you your on 1x.
Why is it that nobody can read my posts? Those are not MY speeds. I have netmonitor and I know I'm on 1xrtt. My d/l speed is about 30 kb/s. I'll try doing what you posted again but I have done it at least 12 times.
another thing you can try which is one step different but may help is doing the data profile restore and and let it do the profile update then follow thw rest of the steps. that's the only thing i can think of other than it being something on sprints end, they may have to reset something.

I've seen people's phones get stuck in cdma only (1x) mode, it's just an internal setting that needs to be changed.
It was fixed with this app, however I don't think it works with the 3D:
https://market.android.com/details?...GwsMSwxLDIxMiwiY29tLmtjLm5ldHdvcmtzd2l0Y2giXQ..
I can probably look around more tonight for something that will work with the 3D, I just can't remember off the top of my head.
Edit: probably the same solution as the post above mine.
This happens to my 3d when I first started messing with my prls I followed those directions in the op of the post I liked above and never have had a problem.

Airave Connectivity

I am unable to connect my eVOLTe to my Airave access point. All the other phones in the house (two Pixis, a Pre, an OG EVO, and a Hero) are able to connect flawlessly and go from one bar to full in the process. However, my new eVOLTe flickers on one bar, occasionally dropping to VZW roaming. This is the case even if none of the other phones are present in the house, and I have never enabled any of the restricted phone settings on the Airave.
I was wondering if anyone had experienced similar issues, and if so, if they had found a solution.

Don't know if this will work because I'm away from home and can't confirm. In the mobile network settings is a setting to turn lte off, cdma only mode. My guess is the cdma/lte mode is what's causing the issue.

I had an issue like this when I first got my EVO LTE a few days ago. At first I couldn't connect and then it would let me make phone calls but all text messages would appear as if they failed and even if I retried sending 20 times they would fail. I personally think it was my old phone (OG EVO 4G) causing a problem as it was still on and my EVO LTE would never connect to my Airave! I played with it for over an hour trying to get it to work but then I thought of turning my old phone off and then resetting/unplugging the Airave and when it came back online my new EVO LTE connected without issue and I haven't had a problem since! If your phone is not yet activated, DO NOT activate it with an airrave present. For some reason, the OTA activation doesn't work right unless you're connected to a real tower.
FWIW, also try changing your Roaming to "Sprint Only", and also, update your PRL.
Mine finally connected when I did that as well as changing from LTE/CDMA to CDMA only.

Can't connect to data in LTE/CDMA mode

For some reason, I can't connect to data anymore in LTE/CDMA mode. I recently went back to visit my folks in the Bay Area and was in a fringe area where LTE was active. I tried putting the phone into LTE mode only to try to maintain the connection, but have since changed back to the default setting.
Now I can only connect to data when I set the data mode to CDMA Mode only. I tried updating profile, PRL, wiping caches, and even restoring an old back up with no luck. Anyone ever have this problem?
The 3G icon is on in LTE/CDMA mode, but I can't open any webpages.
My wife's iPhone 4s connects just fine in the same areas.
they are working on your towers
is not an issue with your phone
I've been driving around all over the bay area today and it still won't connect unless its in CDMA only mode. Doubt its a tower issue. I'm driving back down to LA today so I'll know for sure.
Again, I'm only trying to connect to 3G but want to leave the mobile settings on LTE/CDMA mode since LTE is stating to pop up at home.

That's the biggest bunch of Sprint crap i ever heard. I was talking with Sprint today for over an hour and a half about this bull crap. a couple days ago i got a error 67 code on my HTC EVO (og, i went back to it because of this issue). Yesterday I switched back to my EVO LTE. I still got the error code. They said to wait for an hour for it to get its mobile network. I waited all night and still nothing. this morning. i contacted Sprint. The lady tried for over an hour, resetting everything known to man kind
we did the ##3282# and reset everything. We Changed and reste everything on the phone. activated my old EVO and back to the new EVO and still nothing.
I am sick of Sprint saying this is a tower issue. If by some miracle it is, disable the towers LTE until you are done with everything. I know this isn't effecting everyone but your pissing a lot of people off with this crap. At least just replace the phones that are not working.
anyone know what CDMA HDR stands for?

Yep. It is basically the same as 3g, but allows for a smooth transition from 3g to lte as you gain and lose lte signal.
Word is we see this before they upgrade to lte.
I'm having a lot of 3g problems but definitely not tower related.

Now that I'm no longer in the Bay Area and back down in LA, 3G seems to work normally again on LTE/CDMA mode.

i'm having this same exact issue now. I had to replace my EVO due to a brick .. the replacement doesnt get mobile data when LTE/CDMA is selected ... i have to select CDMA only. My home area doesnt have LTE yet, but parts of Nashville do have unofficial LTE ... not sure that it matters ..
just curious if anyone ever figured out for sure what it is ... if its tower issues i'm not sure why that would affect the LTE/CDMA mode ... also the timing is quite miraculous that a new phone is received and that same day the towers all of a sudden have issues ...
is this something that can be fixed by Sprint on their side or am i truly stuck with just CDMA only mode?
My problem just went away after awhile. Maybe people were right about towers being upgraded...
I had the same problem once. Solved it by flashing (then) latest radios. I did same troubleshooting steps as you, update PRL, profile, etc. Nothing helped. Flashing radios solved the problem.
hrm .. guess i'll go snatch the latest radios to just be sure ...
FYI .. i updated the radios by using captain throwbacks 3.16 firmware update zip ...
fixed the issue. So i guess it was radio related.

Awesome! Thanks for saving me the frustration of bringing it in for service. The only downside is losing all the info.

I take that back. I've been sick lately and havent left the house in days. Just got back out today and sure enough I still have the problem. I'm going to take it to the Sprint store in the next few days and have them scratch their heads over it.
I had the same problem. Our would be fixed for a couple hours then data would drop again. Had to get a replacement from asurion. Update if they get yours figured out

I've dealt with folks on the phone now twice and they are saying it was due to some software update. Which has to be complete garbage ... why would Sprint do this? it makes no sense.

[Q] Sprint Note 3 not registering on Airave Network Extender

So, I have had my Note 3 for about 3 weeks now and it has started to act shy around my Airave at home. Usually, I walk in the door and it's registered on it, but the last week or so it wont. Even if I power the phone off and back on it still camps on the 0-1 bar sprint network outside. My wife's S4 registers on it, no problem. I have called into Sprint, and we have reactivated, reset the profile on the phone and that works (as long as I stay within the range of the airave). The moment I leave and come back --- bam --- no airave coverage for me on my Note 3.
Has anyone else experienced this? Any tips or ideas? I have the Airave 2.5.

Have you tried resetting the Airave? Also, I had a problem with it last week. I went online to my Sprint Account > My Preferences > Manage my Airave and reentered the phone numbers allowed to access the Airave and the Zip Code and it solved the problem for me.
Having the same problem. My s4 never had an issue connecting and reconnecting. I've also tried resetting it but that didn't work. I updated the zip code on sprint's website but that didn't help either.
I recently got the airrave setup and running but my note was the only phone not connecting. I'd tried everything and what finally started it working was using PRL helper to roll my PRL back to an older version like my wife's S4. Been working great every since and I'm thinking somehow the newer PRL was ignoring the airrave.
I don't have the airave restricted in my account. It's wide open for anyone to use. I will check on the zip code. Thanks for the tip.

I live in an apartment complex so I have to restrict it to my numbers. The Airave can only handle 10 lines at a time so if it's full with other sprint users in the area, I can't get on. There used to be an option to restrict the square footage of the signal but that was removed a while back.

I had to do a similar thing. I had sprint send me the previous prl and fixed my issues.
It seems the latest prl causes issues and will make your airrave useless.

Airave issue partially solved
Ok, I downloaded PRL Helper from the play store ((thanks piaa_nissan)) and I found a PRL list for sprint (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1880781 I found that changing the PRL did help. I went to the 51xxx PRL and it allowed me to register on my Airave. However, I did experience problems with outgoing SMS messages.
I read on the Sprint users forum that the 800 Mhz band is causing the issue with the Airave. Sprint is rolling out 800 SMR in my area and the phone will stay locked on it vs. jumping over to the stronger 1900 Mhz on the Airave.

My phone used to connect to my Airwave, but couldn't send a text. I unplugged the Airwave for a while (couple of days), connected it again so my wife could have good signal and now my phone doesn't connect to the Airwave. I just went to the 56xxx PRL and will test when I get home from work to see if it connects to the Airwave and allows me to send a text.

Hmm... I may try that PRL then. When I got home, my phone connected to the Airwave and was able to send a text, but then I went back down to no bars. It was connecting and dis-connecting all night.
Before I switch PRLs, I am going to add my phone number to the Airwave to see if that helps any.

Did using 51xxx interfere affect LTE reception at all?

It didn't for me. I still pick up LTE when I am out and about with the 51xxx prl.

I spent over a half hour with a level 2 tech support guy from Sprint. I tried everything he could think of, and nothing allowed my note 3 to connect with the Airwave. I wish I could describe this better, but he had me go into a troubleshooting mode on the phone and check a channel setting. It turns out each phone is on one of 3-4 channels. One of the channels will not work with the Airwave. Guess what, I'm on that channel. It seems like the channel is 1476, but I might be off base on that one. The only solution is to send me a new phone (with no guarantee it won't be on the same channel). Sprint is upgrading the towers in my area, so I'm going to live with it for now.

Did you manually try changing your prl?
Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk
I'm not sure exactly what you mean my manual. I've gone to the menu and done the update that way, but I haven't downloaded a specific PRL and installed it.

Download prl helper in the play store.
Then download this file https://db.tt/xbnGV5lS and put it in the root directory of your internal SD card.
Then simply open up the prl helper app and install that prl.
Should fix your issues.
Let me know how it works.

Does your phone pick up any 4g service at all in your house?

code 34
Your documented process to revert to a different PRL fixed my inability to connect to our Airave, but now the problem sending text messages has returned. After attempting to send a text, delivery times out and I get a "code 34" error. If I power off the airave and retry, it works fine. Any insight??

People reported that issue. Try giving it a few hours and keep trying to send text messages hopefully it will eventually fix itself
